- Ian (7/5): good value for money great short stay location - Location was good staff and customers in pub very welcoming pub food good wide range of beers and ales ensuite in room very small and knees touched door when on loo which not ideal steep stairs to room.
- harris (8/5): -

- Richard (10/5): Superb place to stay! - Excellent, friendly staff, quick to help and very accommodating. Easy parking nearby. The pub is superb and the reason we chose to stay. We weren't disappointed! Room is lovely and quirky as expected in an old building. Very clean and well equipped. Will be staying again if it's available for our next trip back to Louth. Absolutely nothing.
- NEIL (10/5): Great staff, clean tidy with good breakfast in good central location - Great breakfast brilliant location Everything was excellent
- Anthony (2/5): The Boar's Head is not a good place to stay - look elsewhere. - Not a lot. Everything about this pub's accommodation was very basic, tired and worn out. The carpet on the stairs was theadbare and not clean. The 'private' bathroom mentioned in the advertisemnt, we rather naively thought meant 'en suite' - it didn't. The bathroom was cold and the toilet seat was not secure. The duvet and pillow cases in the bedroom were not ironed and the washbasin was blocked. The bar staff were friendly and helpful.
- Darryl (8/5): Perfect for our needs, great host. - Quaint, clean, good location TV didn't really work. But that's minor
- ian (8/5): - Great pub location and hosts.
- andrew (10/5): - Lovely room and location food and staff great
- Jamie (9/5): - Comfortable place in a lovely location.
Free parking.

- Helen (6/5): Great little pub and not far from town - I liked the staff very much, very welcoming and nice. The pub is great and serves a selection of food, we have eaten Sunday lunch here a few times and it’s fabulous. There was entertainment on the night we stayed and very good company. We stayed in a double room with a separate bathroom, which was no problem. The decor is a little dated, but for what we paid, we certainly can’t grumble. We would stay again
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Dimitris (6/5): Fair stay but needs a bit more attention - The location and the bathroom The noise from the pub and the smell in the corridor. The sink in the bedroom was blocked, the room needs a bit more attention
- kailem (10/5): Perfect - The staff/owners were lovely and very chatty and welcoming, the pub is in a perfect location with easy nearby parking, the pub itself is brilliant with an impressive tap, and the room was lovely. Nothing.
- Julie (9/5): Fitted perfect for our visit to Louth. - Really comfortable bed and shower was great. Not that it matters but tv signal was lost every time a car drove past
- Bridget (7/5): -
- Tracey Elliott (9/5): - Staff and location. Small bathroom and sliding door kept coming off runners.
- Kirsty (8/5): -
- Dobo56 (7/5): Quirky and friendly - Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. The shower was lovely and hot. I hadn't realised the room was not en- suite (the bathroom was next door) although it was our own private bathroom. The bathroom door was difficult to close and to open again when exiting. The lighting in the bedroom was not brilliant and there was only the option of light on or off, no side lamps which would have been nice. The bed sheets gave the impression of being previously slept on but I think this is just because they hadn't been ironed. These are only small and insignificant things and would not deter us from staying again (in fact we have already booked to return). It's a shame there was no food because we would have eaten there for sure.
- Stephen (10/5): - Fantastic value. Great size room. Owners were great giving information about stay. Nice & quiet. Great location.
- Keith (7/5): Good location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely room and facilities. Quite happy thank you. -
- Joe (10/5): -
- Anthony (9/5): Spot On! - It’s a proper old pub with good beer but, a LUXURIOUS room Nothing
- Tim (7/5): -
- james (8/5): -
- Terry (7/5): Ideal location for visiting family - The convenient location, and the free car park nearby. Staff were nice TV only worked intermittently - screen kept going off, but sound stayed.
- John (8/5): - Very cosy pub and accommodation.
Within walking distance to town Enjoyable stay
- Tracey (9/5): -
- Pearson (10/5): - Staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the area and great hosts. We only stayed for one night due to travel commitments, wish it was longer.
- Jon (8/5): Perfect location, friendly, free parking (nearby), laid back and comfortable. - The location was excellent, just a short walk to the town centre. There was ample free parking within 30 seconds walk. The room was cozy and had everything we needed for our type of stay (a central location for touring Lincolnshire). Any questions I had were very quickly answered and the room was private and, considering it was above the pub, it was quiet enough, even when there was a band playing in the bar area (other end of the pub).
Coming and going was very easy and we had our own fob for the door so didn't need to worry about the times we were returning.
We had a drink in the pub a couple of times and a meal one evening, it's a very friendly and traditional vibe. The pub is shut on Monday and Tuesday but is so close to the town that there's plenty of options to eat and drink. Our only real gripe was that the en-suite light and fan were on a sensor, rather than a separate switch. This meant that any time my wife or I wanted to use the toilet in the night, as soon as the door was opened, it flooded the room with light and fan noise...a small niggle but easily rectified by putting the light on its own switch.
- Steven (9/5): Excellent host, Sunday lunch and entertainment - Friendliness of the staff. Breakfast could have been an option
- Anna (7/5): Great - Great little place for an overnight stay. The communication with Gemma about check-in details was very helpful and detailed. The bed was comfy, and the place was nice and quiet.
- Demianenko (10/5): -
- Doug (2/5): Disappointing - Location was good Staff weren't very helpful and I arrived just.after seven and was told.that they stopped serving food at 7pm. I was not.informed.of this beforehand and they refused to.make any allownace.for the fact that a.few.minutes had passed from their.deadline. I was then tild.that the pub normally stops serving drinks at.11pm but despite being saturday night they intended to close the bar at 10pm. The room wss a.bit basic and lacked simple.things like a bedside lamp.
- Karen (10/5): Great and would definitely stay again - Owners were so lovely and friendly. Food was amazing. Accommodation comfortable Wasn’t keen on not having the bathroom within the room. But didn’t spoil our stay
- Bernadette (7/5): -
- James (9/5): -
- Amanda (7/5): - Near to town. Cosy TV picture gets distorted at times
- Natalie (6/5): Could have been better - Nice clean room, great location, nice little pub Bathroom separate from the bedroom, no on-site parking, there is free parking close by but you can't see it from your room. Also, on the first night, somebody came in at around midnight and woke us up. You could hear absolutely everything, he was coughing, walking around, and heard him get a microwave meal, popping the film, banging it in the microwave, then set the microwave going, then it dinging, then setting it going again.. for about an hour all we could hear was him walking around and coughing. The wall was paper-thin. We could also hear the door downstairs constantly banging as people were walking through it, just really noisy so didn't get much sleep
- Sian (9/5): Handy location close to town centre and not ridiculously priced. - The room was huge, bed was comfortable. Couldn’t find fault with any of it. If I had to say anything the bathroom was a bit small could’ve done with a hook on the back of the door to hang your clothes. But these are minor things. I’m not sure if it’s a new business but if it is I wish them all the best. There was nothing I didn’t like. For the amount we paid, it was perfect.
- Adam (10/5): Great - Lovely pub great staff enjoyed our 2 nights thank you
- James (8/5): Homely and rustic. Good value. Friendly. - Stylish, lots of room features like sink, tv, radio, speaker, wardrobe, drawers, kettle and tea making facilities, free canned water, close to town centre, easy to park, easy to get in and out with key fob at front door. Staff were extremely nice and the pub itself is nice. Pub did food with good selection of drinks too. Customers welcoming. Room was spacious. Decent stay for the price. Room was dark at night and not noisy despite next to the road. It was a bedroom above a pub. Didn’t feel very private/secure. Struggled to lock and unlock the room door with the old key which was low on the door. Bed was small for 2 adults (double bed). It was a little cold and couldn’t figure out the old radiator? Whilst it was rustic in feel/appearance, it could have done with a lick of paint in places to tidy up. WiFi password was written down wrong on the wifi board. Found the password elsewhere but we were leaving by then.
- Shaun (6/5): - Nice location, friendly staff. Open mic night on Sun so loud informing the room. Ended about 2200.
- Ross Alexander (8/5): -
- Robins (10/5): - The hosts are so welcoming and friendly. Food is great.
- Stephen (8/5): Welcoming pub accommodation close to centre of Louth - Comfortable pub accommodation close to the centre of the lovely Lincolnshire Wolds town of Louth.
Hosts were very welcoming. Free car parking available on one side and a large pay and display car park on the other.
Five minute walk to the centre and lots of antique shops. Pub is quite old and some of the decor a bit tired, but excellent value for money.
- Samuel (6/5): -
- Carol (10/5): - Lovely staff, clean and warm
- Amanda (6/5): More than adequate for an evening. - Hospitality and food en-suite outside of room
- JOHN (7/5): Lovely. - The comfortable bed and the fact that the telly worked.
- Nick (10/5): Lovely hosts. - Staff where lovely and in a great location
- Henri (10/5): -
- Sandra (5/5): -
- David (1/5): Dont book here - No body there and had to book another hotel. Was promised a refund but this never happened either.
- Becky (8/5): Comfortable and clean room and staff were friendly and helpful - Location was close to the town
Fred parking near the pub
Shabby Chic room decor
Tea and Coffee making facilities in the room Room 3 does have a bathroom for own use but it is outside the bedroom.
No bedside lamp
- Cherry (7/5): Cheap and cheerful !! -
- Serena (10/5): Loved it!!! - The landlord & landlady are so pleasant & amenable they both make you feel so welcome. we love the pub & especially the Sunday lunch anyway so we were very excited when we realised they had rooms too!! Win Win!!
And it certainly didn’t disappoint…room was clean comfortable & just lovely! Highly recommend Everything
- Christine (9/5): Lovely to stay in a traditional pub in a traditional market town, Louth is a historic place. - Traditional no frills pub. Comfortable room, bed was comfortable. Able to adjust heating which was a good thing. Able to open window - essential! Nice to have soap (solid) as well as liquid handwash.
Good evening meal, the Hunter's Chicken was excellent. And a good pint. Friendly staff. Real fires. Very small (trendy) wash basin. No good when you are trying to wash your face or clean your teeth. No way to fill basin with water if you wanted to wash.
- Oakley (5/5): - Bed comfy room a good size Bathroom not being a ensuit has somebody kept banging our private bathroom toilet seat and trying our room door so didn't sleep very left and left early
- Don (10/5): - Location is great, the room everything about it. Nothing that I didn't like, only thing it just needed and that was sugar for the tea/coffee, but it never bothered me the slightest.
- Kevin (10/5): - Quirky old pub with brilliant stylish decor. Excellent menu and drinks . Staff were welcoming and friendly. Handy for town .
- Heron (10/5): My stay was fantastic. - It was lovely. All of the staff were lovely and polite. The bed was really comfortable and the room was spacious. N/A
- Neil (10/5): -
- Ian (9/5): Great value for money in a great location - Close to the centre of town with free parking
- Tom (4/5): Everything was great except the above. - Warm, very comfortable mattress, very friendly and helpful staff. The shower wasn’t working and was v cold. The walls are so thin that every sound from the next rooms can be heard. The windows really didn’t keep any sound of the traffic out.
- Neil (9/5): - The staff are wonderful. Nothing,it was is great value for money.
- Mark (7/5): Value for money. - Room was clean as was adjacent bathroom. Noise from bar was minimal, good location for town centre. Well equipped with towels, toiletries etc. Room was very hot as described in information sheet even though it was late November we had to turn radiator off and open window slightly to get a comfortable night's sleep. This is the 3rd establishment we have stayed at in Louth and the cheapest, but not the worst. Room too warm.
- Jill (10/5): -
- Alan (2/5): - Good traditional Pub with many rooms to eat and drink.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- kazz (10/5): Warm and friendly staff - Warm and friendly welcoming staff, comfortable bed, everything you need on the doorstep
- kazz (10/5): Comfortable - Owner and staff friendly welcoming people, comfortable room and clean
- AdamElliott1990 (10/5): Highly recommend. - The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The room was clean and comfortable, I only stayed 1 night but I would highly recommend and I would stay here again. The only thing I would suggest is maybe some bedside lamps to give it a cosier feel.
- Andy (9/5): -
- Bob (8/5): - Thought I had booked 'on-suite' but had a private bathroom needing a 'walk outside'
the menu looked inviting but I had already booked a different location
the popularity of the premises for food and drink
with a little advanced information from the premises, I found 'free' parking.
the bedroom was of good size and the bed comfortable beer prices were at the top end of my price range
no glass in the bedroom for a 'drink of water'
- Lisa (8/5): -
- Rich and Janey (9/5): Great pub with nice rooms - Great location. The pub was really friendly. Rooms nice, clean, and comfortable. Proper sized bathsheets, too, hoorah! Gemma is a great host. Thank you for having us. Could do with a bin, a shelf, and some hooks in the bathroom. The bathroom is tiny so hard to unpack toiletries and hang clothes to get dressed. There is a cupboard but there were a lot of other products in it. Small issues but would have made it easier to use.
- Helen (5/5): Ok for a budget stay - Location and friendly staff No hot water in bathroom and bathroom was cold
- Stephen (8/5): Very nice stay -
- Matt (8/5): Great Stay - Would Recommend - Check in was easy and the room was great; facilities were good and wifi worked well. Unfortunately, Monday in Louth is very quiet, and there is no in-house kitchen running on Monday's
- Amanda (5/5): - Location. Price. Place was closed so felt lonely
- david (9/5): most enjoyable stay at the boars head, would recomend to anyone - no breakfast as we were out early in the morning, it was a perfect location for us, a friendly welcome, clean and comfortable couldn't find any fault with the property or the host, a perfect stay
- Gemma (10/5): Definitely lately book again. - Clean. Nicely laid out room. Great pub and food. Key fob lock took a few tries to get used to. It was easy once I knew how though.
- kazz (10/5): Very relaxing, good quality pub - Very clean, comfortable friendly
Owners Very welcoming, staff so friendly, food Very good, choice beers what more could you want, few minutes to town centre. N/A
- John (10/5): We had a very comfortable nights sleep -
- kazz (10/5): -
- Simon (8/5): -
- Robins (10/5): -
- Fox (10/5): - The venue is within walking distance to the lovely town of Louth There wasn't anything I didn't like it was good value for money and a decent night's sleep
- Sheila (9/5): Charming hotel for a reasonable price. - Gemma was a very warm and welcoming host. The room was spacious and we slept well in a comfortable bed.
It was a mid-week night when we stayed so quiet but the bar was very cosy. Ensuite bathroom was a little small but adequate.
- Raymond (9/5): -
- Lavinia (7/5): Lovely room and helpful staff 🙂 - The pub has a lovely rustic feel and the room was really nicely decorated. The shower was lovely and hot. Good spacious room with tea and coffee. Shampoo and conditioner plus soap provided. We found the mattress slightly too hard for our liking but might be fine for others.
- John (6/5): Somewhat Bohemian. OK, but might not suite others. - Location is OK, within walking distance of the town center and some convenience stores. Bar was friendly enough & the food was OK-ish. The place is a little Bohemian and a bit scruffy around the edges which is fine by me, but might not suite other people. Staff need a bit of customer care training. Room was clean and fine. Stairs v narrow and rather steep. They're clearly trying hard on a limited budget. It kind of comes across as a pub which is dipping its toes into the accomodation field. No breakfast offered.
- Guy (9/5): -
- Sian (8/5): Was basic but exactly what we needed for a good price - Cosy and central to our needs No Fan and it was very hot… no wardrobe/ coat hangers for clothing
Didn’t do breakfast
