• Francis (8/5): - Quiet. It's located away from the main road. Very nice lake view, especially for sunrise. Occasional noise from jetski. Bottles water provided only once. I was not given even though i asked on the second day of my stay. The sink was tiny and in an awkward position that made it a challenge to use. The soap dispenser is stuck. Very little comes out through the nozzle.

• Jasmin (8/5): - Die Lage direkt am See war toll. Auch die Mitarbeiterinnen waren sehr freundlich und die Speisen im Restaurant gut. Der Ausblick vom Zimmer (wir hatten das unterste direkt am See) war wundervoll. Auf der anderen Straßenseite wohnt ein schweizer Bäcker mit seiner indonesischen Frau, die tolles Gebäck und Frühstück anbieten. Ein bisschen eigen war, dass wir keinen Müllsack oder ähnliches bekamen und auf Nachfrage hin meinte die Mitarbeiterin, dass wir das Toilettenpapier im WC runterspülen sollen. Fanden wir irgendwie nicht richtig. Im Eck zum Badezimmer hin hat es streng nach Tierurin gerochen und nachts hörten wir kleines Getrapple von oberhalb der Zimmerdecke.

L’accès à la chambre se fait par l’intermédiaire du restaurant. Le bateau nous dépose sur un quai voisin et nous devons transporter les valises sur une bonne distance.

• Tanja (9/5): Zimmer mit toller Aussicht - Große Terrasse mit wunderschöner Aussicht. Das angeschlossene Restaurant war ausgezeichnet und bot eine tolle Möglichkeit, die lokale Küche kennenzulernen. Besonders genossen haben wir die täglich frisch zubereiteten Fruchtsäfte, die wir uns im Restaurant geholt und entspannt auf unserer Terrasse getrunken haben. Das Zimmer war eher spartanisch eingerichtet, aber völlig ausreichend. --

• Rosanna (8/5): Great views and delicious food - The views from the lake-facing room we had were beautiful! The room itself had a large terrace/balcony and was spacious inside but perhaps not as clean or modern as others have suggested (dust on the bed frame and no toilet roll when we arrived). The staff are very friendly, though, and the breakfast was very tasty and can be had from your balcony (but make sure it’s collected because it wasn’t collected one our first day and it attracted ants to our balcony!). The local food in the restaurant was delicious too. Note that the ferry will drop you off at Pandu Hotel, which is a short 5-min walk from the pier to Marina. Also, the water around the bottom of the hotel didn’t look appetising to swim in. Unlike other areas of the peninsula it had bits of plastic and general debris floating around. Hopefully, it can be cleaned up a bit or make the pier larger to get out into the deeper/cleaner part of the lake. Rooms could be a little cleaner too.

• Bernard (9/5): Amazing people, Amazing place. - We ate most of the time in their restaurant because it was convenient. The menu wasn't extensive but the food was good. They also do excellent fruit juice. Hired a bike for two days to see more of the island which was cheap. To be honest, for the price you can't complain. Stairs down to the appartment were uneven at the top section near to street, than more constant as you went down the side of the building but rather high for each step.

Der direkte Zugang zum See ist ein großer Pluspunkt. Das Hotel vermietet auch Motorroller und bucht Busse für die Weiterfahrt.

• Jonas (10/5): Alles super! - Wir haben ein paar schöne Tage in der Unterkunft gehabt. Sie ist perfekt in Tuk Tuk gelegen und wir konnten uns sofort und sehr unkompliziert einen Roller ausleihen. Das Zimmer hat einen tollen Ausblick auf den See, wenn man dieses auswählt. Die Gastgeber haben sehr großen Aufwand betrieben, um mir meine Visa Karte zurück zu holen, die ich im Automaten stecken lassen habe. Vielen dank nochmal dafür. Allgemein waren alle Beteiligten sehr zuvorkommend. Achtung, nachdem man sein Geld hat, muss man bei dem ATM zum Schluss den Vorgang nochmals beenden, um seine Karte zu bekommen! :)
• Jeffrey (7/5): - Ruime kamer met fijn bed. Locatie is goed, veel restaurantjes in de buurt. Bij de accommodatie zit ook een restaurant waar je lekker kan ontbijten. Hygiëne kon beter. Wij hadden veel last van mieren en vooral de badkamer was niet erg schoon. Wifi werkt niet heel goed. De accommodatie is behoorlijk gehorig, vooral de hanen naast de kamer verstoren je nachtrust.
• Arjun (8/5): Budget friendly and comfortable stay by the lake with a superb restaurant! - Great location and view of the lake from the room. Ferry from tiga raja Parapat dropped us off at Pandu resort adjacent to Maruba and from there it's a 3-5 mins walk. Clean, spacious room with a big balcony and comfortable mattress and 24 hrs hot water supply and a spacious bathroom as well. Ita and staff were very helpful in getting us motorbike rental for 2 days and also arranging a taxi to Berastagi on our last day. They even dropped us off on their motorbikes to the ferry departure point. And the best part is their awesome restaurant. You can get authentic Batak cuisine here. Urab was absolutely a gastronomic delight and so were the other dishes. They have very good vegetarian spread as well. Ita is a very seasoned chef and it reflects in the dishes. Ita and staff also got along with my kid very well and my kid liked them a lot:) Also, in a mins walk you can enjoy coffee/breakfast at Marcopolo local cafe. Wifi was also quite good. Overall, we had a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Would have been great if they would have asked for room cleaning to be done instead of us requesting them. Can communicate early if there is a specific cleaning time so that it can be planned. Rest, all was great.

• Johannes (9/5): - One of the most beautiful places in all of Sumatra with a stunning view with affordable prices (appreciate it a lot) and friendly owner family. Own pier, very clean, comfy mattress, laundry service, free water, hot shower, privacy, free parking and best location. They have an attached restaurant where I ate the first night the most delicious "Ikan panggang bumbu" (fish with spices from lake toba). The family had a great attitude and were smiling everytime you enter the place and you felt welcome. Pro tip: don't leave your clothes or stuff outside at night because they are bats pooping on them, haha. It's like Paradise and I would have stayed longer if they would set boundaries towards other guests who are misbehaving (I understand it's not so easy). Please don't take it as a complaint instead as a tip because in the end it affects your own business. The second day I ate Fish Curry which was not hot and fresh. Otherwise 10/10 stay.

The property is clean and if you are lucky enough to book a lake view room you are in for a treat with a stunning view across Lake Toba. The beds are big and comfortable and the bathroom is large and has good pressured hot water. The staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful. They really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and make the most of my stay. The restaurant serves delicious food, also with a great view across the lake. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay :)

Il y a de l eau chaude et des toilettes a l occidentale. La vue sur le lac de certaines chambres est magnifique. L hôtel est a proximité du petit port ou nous laisse le ferry . Le restaurant. A priori il a été réputé il y a quelques années mais maintenant il est selon nos goûts de faible qualité. Il faut dire que nous avions très bien mangé depuis le début de notre séjour

We stayed for seven nights and felt so at home that we didn’t want to leave. They took great care of us: arranging our tours, serving some of the most delicious food on the island, and always greeting us with a warm smile. The vibe among the people staying here was also amazing; we left with more than six new friends. It was such a memorable experience that we left almost in tears. The facilities are also great. • Oh (7/5): A small Lakeview guesthouse - Small lakeside guesthouse run by a family of friendly people. Lake view from the room, Hotel's restaurant is 3 doors away offering good food with reasonable prices. Free tradsport to and fro the ferry jetty by motorbike. Room is clean. Help to get local transport. Beautiful sunrise view from the room. Suitable for a quiet stay. No aircond, only a fan. To enter our room, we need to pass through an old house which is not kept presentable. No table inside the room, only one bed side table. No kettle, no free bottled water. A small basin in the bathroom. However, for that price, do not expect too much. It is hoped that they continue to improve as they are in the hotel business for only a year though their restaurant is 16 years old.

They don't overcharge services like transfert. Highly recommended. There is some ants inside sometimes, but it's OK.

Western toilet with TP, towels, etc. STAFF/LOBBY All the staff that I met was super friendly and helpful. KITCHEN/MEALS Attached restaurant was tasty. OTHER Rented both a bicycle (60K) and motorbike (150K petrol included) from them. When it was time to leave, they took me to the pier on motorbike. LOCATION 15 minutes walking from the "center" of Tuk Tuk. Not great access for swimming in the lake. NOISE Some early morning roosters and jet skis. WIFI Cuts in and out

You can order a breakfast, lunch & dinner - it's delicious - i strongly recomended pancakes for breakfast and traditional bataks fish & chicken as dinner. If You like hosts can organize a Transport for You by bus, privite car or share Taxi. I strongly recommend!

• Vincent (9/5): Peaceful & calm with fantastic view of the Lake, looking forward every day. - I like my unit is just 10 meter away from the Lake Toba, the unit face the Lake, very fantastic view. This place is very peaceful and the staff are very helpful and friendly, you will enjoy this place though no air condition, but has a good standing fan is good enough because the atmosphere is rather cooling. You won't regret staying here. Maybe access to my unit has to go through the stairs slightly stretching, but not a problem.

• Sarah (7/5): Good - The staff was nice and helpful. The hotel has a direct access to the water to swim and if you ask you can make use of the dock of the hotel nextdoor. The interior is simple but that is very much ok given the price of the hotel. The food of the restaurant next door is good but a bit pricey compared to other restaurants. Unfortunately my wooden cupboard (right next to the bed) where I kept my things was full of swarms of ants (those that eat the wood). I was able to kill most with my mosquito spray but I definitely had to clean all my things before packing and still took some home. This was a very unpleasant surprise. Anyway you must expect some insects especially when you keep the balcony door open sometimes.

The views of the lake are impressive, and also the balconies of Maruba Inn. As for the workers, I can only give them a 10. Ita, Henry, Lina and Bel are the best Tuk Tuk hosts and make you feel part of their family. The Maruba restaurant near the guesthouse has delicious food at a good price. We will definitely be back, an incredible place to stay in Lake Toba. Nothing

• Peter (8/5): Exceeded expectations - Modern clean bedroom and bathroom. The view of the lake is exceptional. For the price paid, my expectations were far exceeded. I'd stay here again for sure. Would have been nice to have someone come in each day and see if we needed fresh towels or more loo roll.

• Maria (10/5): Wonderful and quiet place - Maruba Inn is a lovely little guesthouse, a little bit away from the bigger resorts and guesthouses and from the street. This makes it a great, quiet and private place. Our room had an amazing view over the lake and a wonderful balcony. The bed was amazing, the room very clean and there was hot water for the shower. The location is very central, it’s only a little walk to plenty of bars and restaurants around.

• Joshua (9/5): A great retreat in paradise - - Property is right on the waterfront, and has amazing views - The room is large and very clean - It is in a great location with many restaurants just a short walk away - The staff are very kind and friendly, and one of the sisters kindly gave me a free lift to the ferry when I checked out - The shower has warm and cold water - These are very minor things! - There is no fan or AC in the room. You don’t need it, and during the day there is a nice breeze through the windows. At night I closed the windows and it could get slightly warm, but not enough to disturb me. But the sheet is a very thick doona! This didn’t affect my sleep or anything but I found it slightly peculiar - The wifi could get quite slow in the evening, but it was recently installed (one day before I arrived) so could just be teething issues - Note that there are stairs down to the accommodation which can be a bit uneven, so just talk with the accommodation if you need a higher room for accessibility reasons
• Filipe (9/5): Superb - super comfy, spacious and great view of the lake room is missing furniture for placing your stuff, no mirror anywhere, and a bedside lamp as ceiling light is super bright
• Francisco (9/5): Superb - Large bedroom. Everything was new,. The sheets were white cotton and brand new. Hot water on demand. Very quiet and cool room. The sun rise from our lake facing window (room 2) was amazing. You can hear the waves from your terrace. We asked the host and you can request an extra bed in the large room for a small charge. Maruba Restaurant , just above the rooms, offers elaborate, very tasty and aromatic Indonesian specialties. Worth trying! Soap and toilet paper were missing, and the owner very swiftly provided it. We would suggest somewhere to hang a small amount of clothes.
