• Anastasia (9/5): Lovely stay, Lovely location and Great accomodation - Our room was fantastic. So clean and spacious. My husband, my 17year old daughter and I stayed in a studio apartment (1 queen bed and 1 pull out sofa in the same room) and it was so spacious and comfortable for 3 adults. The kitchenette was perfect, the bathroom was clean and had everything we needed. The room location was on the 3rd floor overlooking the bay and we had a balcony which was perfect. It was within walking distance of the town centre, bay and beach which was great. Will definitely recommend the Mantra to friends and I would not hesitate staying there again.

• Robert (8/5): - We like the position of the accommodation, close to everything we wanted. Kitchen drain and cupboard really smells, obviously you know as you have put a couple of magic tree air fresheners in there but that isn't enough the pipes need a good flush out. Bathroom drains the same. Basin in the bathroom doesn't hold water, the seal is missing as it was when we stayed in the same room over 2 years ago. The over flow smelt real bad and I found it was full of black gunk, don't think that had ever been flush out. Also there is a constant droning sound in the room all the time, worse at night when everything else is quiet. Not sure what it was, obviously the fridge makes a noise when running but it wasn't that. The bathroom extractor wasnt on or the aircon but still the droning sound. A little more care needed in the general cleaning. Wardrobe tracks full of dust and dirt as they were over two years before, also the phone in the bedroom was completely cover in dust. I know the housekeeping staff have to hurry to get the rooms done when it's change over day as all has to be done by 2pm check in time as I have worked in the industry myself, but those little details all count.

After you check in, no access to parking without a room key, not even an intercom for access, street parking is difficult, but large public carpark 2 min walk away, just don't mind all the campers in there. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. Whilst the furniture appeared clean, the property lacks proper maintenance cleans of their rooms, resulting in dust everywhere, mouldy patio area, and crumbs left behind... Who knows how long?

Location - close to Woolies is great but overlooking the street and feeling like I am in a strange town nowhere near the beach not so fab. Mantras properties are always cool whites and dark greys - a colour scheme that feels austere. I don’t love the mini sofas as you can’t stretch out. Tiny kitchenette - expensive for the price. And I don’t love paying a $200 deposit to stay on top of accomodation paid upfront. Had just come from an amazing penthouse in Byron to this accomodation which was overnight. Was not charged there for an additional deposit - but I understand.

The outdoor balcony area looked tired (gravel/rocks with plants that needed a water), with a view of the wall and the squash courts next door. The room was quiet for the night we stayed there. Shower over bath makes me a bit nervous getting in and out of as it was quite high but that is just my experience. A bit expensive.
