Guest Reviews
- Christina (10/5): -
No había lavalozas.
Las colchonetas para poner arriba en la terraza estaban sucias y viejas.
En fin... Una decepción que duró diez noches que costaron 2.500 €
- věra (9/5): - Poloha, blízko centra a pláží. Terasa. Malá kuchyňka, neintimní sprchový kout v ložnici s manželskou postelí.
- Loredana (8/5): Calabria una piacevole scoperta - Tutto

- Manuel (7/5): - Tolle Lage, Begrüßungsgetränk auf der Terrasse im Haupthaus. Kaffeetaps waren ausreichend vorhanden.
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was exactly like the photos. The rooftop was the star, capturing beautiful views of the sea and city. Location was perfect, 1 minute walk to La Munizione, Come onnn. Giuseppe, our property manager, was the best. From recommendations to handy man, he had it all.
- Amanda (9/5): The property was beautiful, so glad we booked it and the staff really were amazing, they really made you feel welcomed - The property was stunning and exceeded our expectations with a lovely view, considering it wasn’t waterfront. We received exceptional service from staff from start to end which really made the trip more enjoyable.
We wish we could have stayed longer.
- Michael (10/5): A fantastic apartment in a beautiful town. - A fantastic apartment in a great location. It is run by a lovely hotel in the town. The service was excellent nothing was too much trouble. The roof terrace was lovely for an evening drink. Would highly recommend. Nothing really. There are a few steps so could be a problem for some guests. You need to park a few minutes walk away. Not unusual in an old Italian town.
- Vicki (7/5): Good - Location was excellent - close to everything. Great rooftop patio but it took a little getting used to the glass stairs to access it. Nice to have a washing machine in the unit. Apartment was a nice size. Listing stated two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There were three sinks, two showers, but only one toilet - not what we expected. The second bedroom was not made up when we arrived. Listing stated toiletries - one bottle of hand soap for three sinks - no bath soap provided. Towels were old and very rough on the skin. The second shower leaked. Three flights of stairs so not for anyone with mobility issues.
- Sarah (8/5): Clean and close to everything - I like how close it was to everything and how clean it was, the owners were very helpful The stairs and the fact that the single room didn’t have a normal bed frame making it very uncomfortable
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful town to visit - Superb apartment with very good facilities all round. Quite a few steps to negotiate but not excessive. Great position for getting into the main town areas and also the smaller side street places and restaurants. Really pretty town with lots going on and interesting views at every corner. Always something to take a photo of. Great rooftop views from the terrace - at the top of the illuminated - see through stairs. In the town, some superb views over the beach areas too. A steady walk of 20 minutes or so gets you down to the beaches and bars. Giuseppe the host was very helpful throughout our stay. Car parking is not easy - expensive in the paid areas if you want to stay close ( most of the near town streets are 'residents only' ) Free parking is available but its a good 20 to 30 minutes uphill walk away- so with cases - not too easy . If you can - keep it light. But not enough of a problem to stop me going again sometime. People very friendly and helpful .
- Rita (9/5): Tropea is an incredible place to visit everything is beautiful and worth seeing. It has great shopping and restaurants a - Giuseppe was very helpful and responsive to all our requests. He generously helped us with our luggage and organised a driver to take us to the train station and again help us with our luggage. The location was fantastic it was central to the main strip and we could easily walk everywhere. The property was clean. There were a lot of stairs to navigate wherever we went.
- Penelope (9/5): Incredible rooftop terasse :) - Incredible private rooftop terasse, and we were extremely lucky to see fireworks. very romantic setting. We were on our honeymoon and the appartment was perfect for a couple. great location in the center of the old city, less than 10 minutes walk to the beach. beautiful terasse at the Dolce Vita hotel accessible for guests and welcome drink
We were able to add a private parking protected by a gate. The appartment is located in a restricted area where cars don't have access, if you are travelling by car and with many luggages accessing the appartment is difficult especially due to the fact that there are many stairs. Private parking is about 10 minutes walk away, and you cannot get closer by car (we got fined for entering the resticted area). We found it a bit odd when the staff of the hotel was calling and messaging us on Whatsapp prior check-in, but overall had a good experience.
- Susan (9/5): A gem for the fit in Tropea - Location, great proximity to restaurants and the main piazza near the centre of the tourist hub.
Lots of hangers, access to a washing machine & ironing board. While we didn't cook there, it appeared that there were ample cooking supplies and dishware on hand for those wishing to do so. Beach and rain umbrellas and a very good hairdryer. Lovely finishes. Ample room for 2 adults. The service at the "parent house" la dolce vita, now that's an amazing balcony! You're welcome to come use it anytime, and we were offered a Prosecco to watch the sun set! Birgit was great, as were all the other staff there! Vsorry I can't recall all of your names. Most helpful. I just wished we had used their connection for airport pick up. All of those stairs! We've stated in Italy before, but after climbing 48 stairs up, I was disappointed to have to climb more stairs inside to get to the outdoor roof top patio. I was too affraid of falling to use the stairs to the patio, no handrail and one side was open. So I did not see those views. Especially scary would be if you've had a drink or two and need to negotiate coming back down. 🤔 Also if there was a place to hang clothes to dry, inside the laundry room or out on the small balcony off the living room that would have been great. A switch for the stair lighting outside of our apartment was tricky. There may have Bern a switch, but we didn't know where it was. So used our cell phone flashlight in the top flight of stairs. Once you get to the bottom of the 3rd flight of stairs there's an automatic switch abd you're good gir the other 2 flights. I brought this to their attention, rhec2nd semtep from the top to the apartment was loose. It moved, so hopefully it will soon be repaired. The shower located in the principal bedroom didn't have a fixture to secre the showerhead above you, you could only hold the wand. We used the smaller shower in the laundry room. Water pressure was ok, I don't have very much or very thick hair.
- Kimberly (5/5): It was ok. Location was the best part and it was clean and modern. - Very Clean
Spacious
Good staff very responsive and helpful
Very good location in historic centre
Interesting architecture
super authentic building
Rooftop and extra balcony were really nice Nice new furniture
Comfortable beds
Good cooling system
Really interesting glass staircase 1) Misleading bathrooms as there was only ONE toilet but two bathrooms listed on the property. That was very very disappointing.
2a) ALL the doors are glass and see through no privacy at all for a family.
3) A very putrid smell coming from the master bathroom shower we had to cover the grate with wet towels to stop the smell from taking over the whole apartment
4) There are 69 stairs to this unit. The last 20 are almost the angle of a ladder and only 2 feet wide. If we did not have two strong males with us we would have never made it up with any bags
5) Advertised as having a full kitchen. No. No freezer, no oven, no microwave, no real way to cook, no kitchen linens, tricky stovetop that shocks you when trying to use it, no storage and a moka pot for one person. Coffee mugs with no handles?
6) Weak poor internet but that may be the area of Tropea
- Domenic (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (10/5): tropea is paradise! - location was great, comfortable rooms, rooftop was lovely. having a washing machine available was perfect. All of the staff/hosts were very helpful and accomodating with any requests we had.
- Jodi (9/5): Superb - Excellent and spacious newly renovated apartment. Very clean and comfortable. Amazing view from roof terrace. Enjoyed many meals there. The second terrace off the lounge room was also very convenient. Thank you to Frederica our host who was very welcoming and gracious. Would definitely stay again.
- Raphael (10/5): A view that amazes in the perfect location. - Amazing service from the moment we arrived at the airport. The view from the balcony is spectacular and the apartment is perfectly located in the center. I have come to Tropea for 10 years and this place has been the most beautiful I have stayed in so far.
- Ursula (10/5): Really friendly and helpful staff. Clean apartment and very central. - central squeaky bed
