Guest Reviews
- Anna (9/5): - un luogo incantato immerso nella natura, le casette meravigliose e il cibo a km 0 buonissimo la strada per arrivarci è piuttosto dissestata e ripida per circa 5 km
- Eamonn Mullally (7/5): - Amazing facilities away from modern life. They struggle with overseas visitors. The people are good just a bit phased by non Albanian speakers.
The location is remote and most navigation systems struggle to find it. Also if you are driving your would benefit from the use of a 4×4 vehicle
Getting there requires some off-road understanding.
I suggest walkers on the Via Egnatia not to book this location. It isva big climb to get there. Better to walk on a further 10kms

- we just loved the place. it's unique and very remote. But you need to understand that access is complicate specially if you are not used to drive mountain roads. only small remark is that if you sleep in the family appartment (for 4 people) above the restaurant you may hear the restaurant guests . not a big deal for us but maybe to be considered for other guests.
- Denisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kris (7/5): Peaceful and quite place but getting there is an adventure - The setting is beautiful with 4 wood cabins and a main building made of stone. Huge property with nature all around, plenty of space to walk, relax, or just enjoy the peace and quiet. We ended up asking for cabins which were on a smaller side but nice and private. ( with hot weather they have no AC and wish they had at least some fans) at night temperature drops so it is more comfortable. First, all other comments were spot on. Watch for small signs posted on trees with correct direction. DO NOT follow Google Maps or you will end up like us miles from destination in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road in the mountains. Wish they had posted larger signs and note it on their website. Lucky for us we talked to a local person who called the owner of Hani and had him come up and get us.
Now, the road as many commented is just ridiculous. If you do not have 4x4 or are seasoned driver driving off road rough terrain, you will hate it. 5 Kilometers of going up the mountain on serpentine narrow dirt road at times rough and driving on the edge of the clip with 400' drop and no guard rails. Honestly, I am not sure how anyone can make this without a 4x4 ( not all wheel drive either ) I found going downhill actually more challenging than going up as you go down at 10 % grade all 5 kilometers. This also should be noted on their website.
The waitress is very nice and helpful but with limited English it is hard to communicate. The restaurant menu is also limited with a few items not available and all in Albanian ( wish they would translate it to a few languages as google translate is not very accurate either) The food is VERY local you either like it, or not. There is a you tube video thay it will give you an idea but of course it is in Albanian.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Absolute fascinating location in the mountains. Road accesibility for skilled drivers, but really worth to climb up there. Fantastic dinner and breakfast, animals around, and complete silence. And not least, very friendly staff😀 Maybe the road, recommend 4wd car or enduro bike, road bike not suitable or only with risk of flat tire
- Mariglen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benjamin (8/5): Very good - No aircondition in the room even it was written.
Be careful that there is not normal road to get there. You need to have 4x4. But you cant find any information anout this.
- Viktor (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - We only booked one night, which we immediately regretted when arriving at this beautiful place!
To be fair the ride to the stay was pretty rough but that wasn’t a problem because the owner drove us both ways with his 4x4. And this ride made the stay so unique. High up in the mountains, stunning view and very peaceful place.
Not to forget the dinner which was the best we had in one week of traveling through Albania.
Thanks for everything!
- Guillaume (10/5): Nature and paradise - All was amazing, nature environment, staff was super nice, food was freshly made, the road to go there is a real adventure….
We just loved our stay, no doubt if we have the opportunity we book again ! 0 complain
- Thao (10/5): Exceptional - The location and view from the apartment was stunning. We really enjoyed our time there as the service and the food was great. There are some trails around where you can enjoy the beautiful nature of Albania. The drive to the location was a bit difficult as the roads were quite steep and not asphalted but it was worth it.
- Bilalli (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was amazing and friendly. Had a great time. And for sure im going again.
- Shira (10/5): Amazing stay in the quiet beautiful mountains - The staff were amazing, so helpful and nice. The location was beautiful, a perfect spot in the mountains with tons of nature all around and nice places to explore. The food was great and altogether we extremely recommend this place. The drive there was a little rough as there is about half an hour of non paved roads and twists and turns. The view was amazing nevertheless and we would do it again :)
- Laura (3/5): Poor -
- Paul (10/5): amazing experience high in the mountains! - absolutely amazing location, warm and welcoming, amazing staff!
- Johannes (9/5): Mountain retreat over New Years - Beautiful new location higher up in the mountains. Great for a day hike to great views and pure nature. Great food in the restaurant with a local traditional cuisine for very reasonable prices. Our dog loved the freedom on the ground and was allowed to the restaurant as well. The houses weren't pre-warmed and took a bit to get cozy with the wintery weather outside on the first night. But after that they turned out to be well isolated for both heat and noise.
- Ermir (9/5): Overall a very pleasing experience. - Pretty much everything, breakfast, room comodity, good Wifi, etc The distance from the main road and the quality of the road to the destination
- Mauricio (10/5): Great brand new place. Amazing panoramas. Very friendly personel - Great brand new place. Very quite, in a hard to reach location but amazing panoramas. Restaurant and food are first class. Very tradicional place. Very friendly personel.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Great accommodation in peaceful countryside Hard to get to, but we got pick up so that was great
- Bart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Baláž (10/5): Exceptional - the accommodation was very great and Erik, who works there, will help you as much as possible. the terrain is a bit rough, but it's really worth it for the views :) I also thank the entire staff very much
- Anna (9/5): Beautiful, romantic, well-designed place! - Really well-designed place, with a wonderfully quiet location perfect for anyone who needs to rejuvenate in nature! Very friendly owner who went out of his way to show us his animals, tell us about his inspiration for the hotel, and even introduced us to his family. Food at the restaurant is home-made and home-grown! Great view into the starry night sky in the evening!
Like the other reviews: be aware of the road. We had a 4x4 car and managed without problem. The road is not ideal for city cars! The road up was very well signposted upwards, but we struggled initially to find the way down!
Also, the rooms could use a wardrobe or a few more hooks to hang towels etc.
- Kaylee (10/5): It was a good stay in a beautiful place with nice people and good food. - The staff was really nice and the locatie is beautiful. The tiny house looked great and was very clean. They also have delicious food. -
- Bekkare (9/5): Very lovely and relaxing place in the mountains - The Hani Cepit Agroturizm is a very lovely place to relax and to come down. It is located in the mountains above the main road from Tirana to Ohrid Lake. The road to Hani Cepit was from our point of view absolutely unproblematic. It is an unsealed road and we certainly wouldn't recommend going there in the night. However, the road is provided very clear with signs. Just follow them and don't rely on GoogleMaps, because the roads are not updated there. If you don't have a 4WD, take it slow, because the road can be a bit bumpy from time to time. But it is certainly manageable.
We stayed in one of the little houses, which we can highly recommend. It was very clean and nicely furnished. We slept very well and it was extremely calm surrounded by nature.
Breakfast was very tasty and food in the restaurant is of good quality. Everything is freshly cooked and meat is prepared on open fire. The place seems to be famous and known for the good meat. Don't miss it!
You can have nice walks around and enjoy cats, chickens and the dog on the property and also donkeys, cows, horses etc. passing by. But mainly it is good just to relax and calm down. We can highly recommend it! The biggest challenge was so far the communication with the staff. The English language skills are very limited, which was mostly not a problem, but when ordering food certainly challenging. The menu was only in Albanien, not everything was obvious by using Google and not everything was available on the menu. So, it is not a deal breaker not to stay there. But be aware that it's a bit challenging and might need some time. But staff is very helpful and trying their best to make sure you get the best food.
- Magnus (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. We had a late arrival because of bike problems in the Mountains. They met us with Open arms. Thanks alot.
- Eman (10/5): back to nature and eating healthy food gave us an enjoyable holiday. - exceptional scenery, modern lodging, home-cooked food, food came from the farm, courteous and hard-working staff. the road leading to it. google maps are not updated with the new roads and it was difficult to reach the location. we realised that calling them via WhatsApp could have helped. the way back down was fine.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marc (10/5): ressourcing - a comfortable cocoon in the mountain near via Egnatia deserved with a all new unpaved track perfect for allroad vehicles (I used a BMW GS bike).
People are incredibly attentive.
Meals were delicious and so plenty that one portion will largely suffice for two persons ! curtains on windows will be very appreciated in the morning
- Robert (10/5): more than perfect - All was just perfect. the room was spacious and very clean with a great bath and bed. But over all the food was one of the best of my life. I falling in love with this kind of delicious Albanian Cousine where I only find there. thanks so much to be your guests. we enjoyed the stay so much!
- Vlantimir (10/5): Exceptional - We came to Albania finally after 3 years and the first place we visited was Hani Cepit. Staff, the small apartments were fantastic and the main reception even better. Since we arrived we said we only gonna drink wine, but when we saw from the next table the food we couldn’t resist. Believe me or not it was the best meet I had in Albania. The room was clean and we didn’t have any problem. We woke up in the morning and we wanted to see the view that everyone was talking about. We were shocked. Absolutely lovely place and we will come back for sure. I recommend the place for sure! 😊
- Fusha (10/5): Amazing 🥇 - new cabins and the staff 😊😊 everything was good 😃
