Guest Reviews
- Reeta (10/5): - Endo Mando was a welcome relief - we were happy to get away from the noisy downtown area of Aswan and find a peaceful spot next to the old Aswan reservoir to rest up for a few days while we recovered from the cold and got ready for the trip up the nile and into luxor. We went during the low season and found it quiet and empty (what we like). Helmy the manager was very attentive throughout and made our trip seamless. He arranged a boatride to a nearby island for dinner every night that felt really special. Also gave us a ride into town to stock-up on fruits and snacks so we could self cater during the day (as the surrounding village did not have restaurants). All in all we loved our stay, the traditional Nubian design of the hut, the helpful staff, having molasses with breakfast and the fantastic balcony with a view. It was handy to also have the AC as it got hot during the afternoon.
- Christian (9/5): Great Nile and Philae Temple Experience - Great experience of being right on the Nile River. Boat for philae temple is in front of the guesthouse. I was provided a transfer from the airport and arranged the boat to Philae Temple. Location quite isolated from Aswan itself but there is a restaurant in the guesthouse, so one can just take advantage of that without need for taxis. Very good if main interest is Philae Temple.

- Athanasios (9/5): Smart choise because of location, warm welcome! - Great location for us, got to Philae temple very easily in the morning with private boat, which we took just outside the guest house!
Also not far from the airport.
But most of all, thanks to Mr. Helmy, the manager and kind man, who was there for everything we needed anytime!
Parfait !
- Michelle (10/5): A little paradise with Temple view - I believe this place deserves a much higher rating on booking! The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located to visit Philae Temple. Beautiful views over the Nile. My room was comfortable and had a balcony with view of the temple. Wi-Fi worked great. They made vegetarian food for me. And most importantly, Helmy, the heart of the hotel! He treated me with so much kindness, helped me organise a boat to the temple and offered me a ride to the train station. He made sure I have an excellent and safe stay. Thank you! -
- caroline (8/5): Comfortable bed . Great view. Wonderful helpful manager. - The location was excellent for the crossing to Phillae temple and we were only a short taxi ride from the town center.
The view from our cute little balconies on the boats and the temple was just beautiful.
The manager was most helpful and kept in frequent contact to facilitate all things regarding our stay.
The pressure from the shower and the hot water was excellent and all worked remarkably well in such a small space.
Food was plentiful and tasty for the meals we had. Perhaps it would be a good idea to give the stairs and the terraces a new coat of Paint.
- Ahmed Mohamed (10/5):

- Arindam (1/5): Dont stay here, we paid but didnot dtay as it was not eorth it. Imagine we reached the place at 7.00 pm and then booked - Photos on booking.com , photos mislead you to a place where you cant stay The pictures are far away from reality. This guest house is next to parking lot for boats. View wise this place is nightmare. Approach is very difficult to reach , rooms are small and blankets were dirty and used without cover, place is dusty…. Bathrooms stinky and small, for shower you need to dtand on the commode seat. We were tricked by the photographs but place is not worth staying.
We didnt stay, we requested host for refund but the guys denied. We went snd stayed in a hotel
- Margo (7/5): The host and staff were very nice and helpful. We did not have hot water for the first night, but finally did for the se - Wry convenient location near the boat taxis. Very good and responsive host and staff Room was smaller than understood. Shower was a “wet-bath” setup so water goes everywhere and you must use a squeegee to clean up water. There was no internet in the room and no working TV.
- Cassandra (8/5): - The view was absolutely gorgeous and the staff/ owners were very helpful and friendly
- Radek (7/5): -
- Mercedes (10/5): - The sunset views Nothing
- Mercedes (9/5): The most beautiful sunset in Aswan - The location is stunning Nothing
- Maricar (10/5): - The room was comfortable, the host and the people there are very hospitable. None
- Haowen (7/5): -
- Emiel (10/5): Simple but everything what we needed for a single night before starting our Nile cruise. - The view from the room was spectacular, you could see Philae temple. The taxi boats for a tour were conveniently parked in front of the the breakfast deck. Very friendly host!
- Napornphan (6/5): Momo -
- Napornphan (6/5): Momo -

- ALDO (3/5): - Il Personale TUTTO
- Moses (7/5): Draw Near to Philae Island! - It is close to Philae Island and relatively close to the airport. There is Nubian culture in the hotel and around. It can be see in the picture. Boat can be booked around just near the hotel. The facility is very limited. Air Conditioner is slow. Only one towel is provided for 2 people though provided as requested. No restaurant was found around but a small shop near the road. Taxi driver is not familiar to the position. We need to walk down the stairs for about 20m. It is difficult to communicate with the staff. He knocked at the door in the morning for breakfast but the breakfast is not ready, so we left early for Philae Island.
- Anita (2/5): Inconvenient, below par & unclean, unsafe, far from everything, not worth your stay, time or money. - This hotel is on the lake, and that is the only plus point, but if we knew how out of the way this place was, we would not have booked it.
If the hotel can arrange for a boat to go to the Philae temple, then the location is convenient as the marina is next to the hotel, but it is otherwise ridiculously expensive as these boat people give you any random price.
The manager was helpful and he helped us arrange a boat. He also gave us a ride to the restaurant on the first night when there was no electricity to get some dinner as we were literally stranded out of nowhere with no electricity, transportation and food. The day we arrived, there was no electricity. It was pitch dark. There was no staff to receive us. One man came and started running with our luggage, supposedly helping us with the luggage. He did not speak English and later we found out he belonghed to a neighboring hotel who was helping just for the tip. He started following us around in the dark for tip. It was dark and we were worried and the tip was last of our concerns. There was no one else at the hotel except for 1 other guest who was a single woman and almost in tears because she was alone there in dark with no one to help or even talk to. She was relieved to see us there.
There is no proper shower in the bathroom which is very small. The shower is on top of the toilet, you literally have to stand next to the toilet to shower.
There is no hot or warm water, the water was uncomfortably cold.
There was a huge (2 inches) big cockroach in the bathroom.
There was no electricity the first day for 5 hours. We were told this is not normal or usual.
There is no transportation and even Uber doesn't get there easily. We waited for 45 mins on the road after booking a ride as it showed it was approaching and then kept adjusting the time.
This place is very far from all other locataions, restauarants, markets, downtown and attractions. It is extremely incovenient. Even our tour cars were not able to pick us up easily.
The food was below average and the coffee was disgusting, the staff did not speak English, did not understand anything and could not even prepare a cup of coffee with milk and sugar.
We were just relieved to get out of there safely.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ibrahim (10/5): It’s in my repeat list. - Location of the hotel is easy to find by car, and it’s closer to the port for boats to go to Philae Island temple and other attractions. Politeness of the staff specially the manager Hilmi was great, a man with full of wisdom, Etiquettes and helpfulness.
- Barry (7/5): A quirky hotel with beautiful views on the waterfront - Quirky and fun place to stay . Beautiful views. Shower over toilet. No food or drinks available and nothing around location.
- Ly (10/5): Exceptional - My husband and I are from Vietnam. We spent our honeymoon here.
- The hotel is in a very convenient and quiet location.
- The owner and staff are very friendly and enthusiastic. Although they cannot speak much English, but they are very honest. When I asked for a car for the next trip, they also helped me very well.
- The food was delicious, but too much for us. When we did not finish it, we asked them to keep it in the refrigerator and in the evening they reheated it for us and they did not charge anything. Although I gave them a tip. I recommend you guys should try Grill Chicken.
Conclude, I would give this hotel a score of 10/10, which is suitable for the cost we spent.
- Margot (3/5): Poor - Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)
The hotel room was comfortable, but our experience was overshadowed by the behavior of the owner. He was quite inflexible with the pricing, which led me to book fewer services. To make matters worse, he referred to one of us as his “wife” during our interaction, which was uncomfortable and inappropriate.
While the room itself was fine, the noise at night made it difficult to sleep, which added to the overall disappointment of the stay.
Overall, while the accommodation itself was decent, the service and interactions with the owner left much to be desired.
- Donald (4/5): Not a great location down the end of a Dirty Street. - Kitchen Staff were Great. A nice view from the Patio. Staff was very unorganized,. We had 5 rooms reserved through booking.com and they didn't know we were coming.
- Filippo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jingxuan (8/5): Very good -
- Enzo (5/5): Passable - The staff was friendly, the views were nice, and the breakfast was good. The neighborhood is not great, far away from the city center, not super easy to reach. The hotel infrastructure was also passable.
- Sarwat (10/5): I had a great night with friendly people . Wonderful and it’s amazing location - I feel like home, great location ,near from all attractions places,I enjoyed the breakfast too much and it was more than enough and fresh, very friendly stuff has family’s hospitality I didn’t think was any problem, was wonderful time I had there
- Hamdi (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic
the Staff were very friendly
Great location next to important tourist attraction in Aswan
The hotel is dominated by colors that give psychological comfort
- El-dafas (10/5): Exceptional - It's really a great place, clean and tidy. The staff was excellent 🤍🤍
- Mohamed (10/5): Perfect - We felt inside this Nubian house the calm and the atmosphere that helps you feel relaxed and next to the most important landmarks of Aswan, the Philae Temple and the marina under the hotel. You can move to the temple by small boats and the hotel staff are very friendly. I recommend it for more than one night. Geen
- Mark (5/5): Passable - Views, friendly staff. Difficult to get too, very dirty surroundings, not suitable for disabled
- Warut (8/5): Great service - Great service and excellent location to go to philae temple first thing in the morning before the crowd arrives. Sara and mustafa are great. This is not a three star property.
- Donald (4/5): Friendly Staff but dissapointing facility and location - The Cook was very helpful and made delicious meals. There is a great view from the Terrace. The check in process took almost an hour. They were totally unprepared for us to arrive through booking, com. They didn't know we were coming. The rooms are small and the bed is very hard.
- Ubaldo (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming people !
Original bed shape
Nubian food and tea
Everything was great 👍
- Sven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erick (9/5): Superb -
- Jimin (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was amazing! Hymen (we called him the Denzel) and THE Manager were very thoughtful and great us with a smile. It is far from the downtown or the cruise port. However, it is very convenient for Philae temple. So choose based upon your need
- Marten (7/5): Beautiful spot, beds could be better - Lovely place with amazing lookout. Everything is freshly painted and on the first floor is a cosy place created to sit. The balcony to watch the sunset is incredible. The bed didn’t have a proper structure just some wood tucked on the bed and a bad matress. The pillows are way too high to sleep on so we created a pillow out of the blanket. My advise would be to look after that.
- Lamya (7/5): Good -
- Yaoyao (10/5): great - good location, near the pier, and hotel help to connect the boat to Philae with a good price.Breakfast is good too. the door of room is difficult to open and lock
- Bee (10/5): Exceptional - Best view, good staff, best breakfast , authentic atmosphere
Mustapha ❤️ Hope improvement of bed mattress comfort.
- Michel (9/5): Superb - Very nice place with very gentle people. We had an excellent meal.
- Andrew (7/5): Good - A good location, with a great view, including to the Philae temple. Good WiFi, and lots of hot water. Staff helpful, but breakfast and dinner took a while to arrive. One morning, we came down at the appointed time for breakfast, and couldn’t find any staff, when we had a tour booked.
- Karpavičiūtė (8/5): Very good - Location, breakfast, dinner, view
- Kiwan (9/5): Superb - Very hospitable staff, clean room, amazing view and very calm and relaxing by night
- Anna (7/5): Good - Close to the dock of the boat and relatively close to the airport. I arrived very late and there was no problem with check-in The location is not as marked on the map so you shall look from Google map instead. The staff does not speak English almost at all
