Guest Reviews
- VanWyngaard (9/5): - Love the structure, serenity and perfect atmosphere. Thank you Hot water was an issue, Wife cant take an army shower like me,haha. but it was refreshing.
- Deon (6/5): -
- Valentina (7/5): - The house. Too many BIG spiders. No towels. No wood or preparation for guests who want to use the hot tub. Too many car noises.
- Bailey (8/5): However overall it was really lovely - Thank you so much for a lovely getaway. The view was breathtaking. Would have like a more portable single bed for my daughter. However a plan was made.
Ants and mosquitoes were pests however that's nature for you so not much you could have done about that
- de Klerk (10/5): - Amazing place. Great views and super comfy. Beautiful linen. Peaceful and serene. Would most definitely book there again!
- tebogo (5/5): my stay was fair - excellent location for my vacation. Poor management. There is no room service at all unless you request. Seven nights with no house keeping at all was a new experience compared to all self catering places i have been to. The carpets in the bathroom need to be changed as they really smell bad. The accommodation can use a bit of extra assistance to help with outstanding management. Otherwise it was a great accommodation spot for my vacation.
- Rosemary (2/5): Not to be repeated, nor recommended!! - Spacious and light inside.
Interesting construction. Location - right on the N2; extremely noisey, impossible to sleep or relax outside. Communicating walls with adjacent cabins not sound proof. Hot tub unclean and not useable. No view. Not as advertised.
- Martin (10/5): Had such an amazing experience we will be back! - The owners - world class hosts Nothing, we will be back
- Robert (3/5): - The staff were pleasant.. Lets just say, Villa Keys is best suited for guests who dont mind a thousand ants getting into your food.
Or for those who dont mind cutting bread on a dirty wooden bread board.
Or for those who dont mind their cabin backing up on to the busy N2 freeway and the associated traffic noise.
Or for those who dont mind paying R2500 per night over peak season (around double the fair value).
The host and the cleaning staff were pleasant so it brings me zero pleasure writing this review. But truth be told it was well below acceptable given what was charged.
- Lisbeth (10/5): - Very roomy chalets, comfy beds
Dog friendly Keep in mind that you have to carry your luggage to the chalets, so pack efficiently
- Bones (8/5): - The area was beautiful, š
- Ross (8/5): -
- Desiree (7/5): - Nice concept, close to wilderness. It's close to the street, so very loud. Kitchen not very well equipped.
- William (10/5): -
- Nelson (9/5): -
- Aneen (10/5): -
- Cosmo (5/5): - View Kitchen utensils were old, coutch was uncomfortable
- Kate (10/5): - Was very profectional
- Kristal (7/5): Pleasant - Nature based vibe which was great Very noisy neighbors and cold showers. No privacy and very loud highway too. Needs curtains as well.
- Marliese (3/5): You can take the Villa out of Villa Keys - The cabin feel was fine. Non of the facilities that we were hoping to use worked. The hot tub didn't work. The fireplace worked but all the smoke came in the cabin the whole time and didn't go through the vents of the fireplace, so it didn't work. The kitchen was very unpractical. The stove was placed under the stairs making it hard to cook anything.
Also the coffee machine was very very dirty and non of the coffee, tea or sugar jars were refilled for our stay. There was for example 1 teabag in the jar. The place was also very dusty with hair like dust things that hang from the floating shelves in the kitchen.
We paid a lot for what we got. We booked it for the cabin feel, hot tub and fireplace but nothing worked and the owner didn't even bother to give back some money. Also the we never saw the owners they only directed us where the keys were and there was little to non security.

- Samantha (6/5): Beautiful Cabin, suggest we book the one with the view as advertised on the booking.com page - The coziness of the wooden cabin, the privacy and the fact that you could braai on the Weber and watch Netflix. The cabin was provided with coffee, tea and milk which was a lovely touch. Everything we needed for self catering was there. The bed was so big and comfortable and the shower was incredible. disappointed in the hot tub. After using 9 bags of wood with a total of 7 hours trying to warm up the hot up it didnāt get hot enough to jump in on a cold night. It wouldāve been great if the staff started warming it up prior to our arrival at an additional cost. Our cabin was next to the main road which was very noisy with the traffic and our neighbours were having a lekker party which we could hear everything.
- Monique (8/5): Weekend getaway - Beautiful house. We stayed in unit 4. Wonderful mountain view from the beck. Could hear the road and neighboring units.
- Adams (10/5): Lovely in Nature - We had a nice time at Villa Keys. We were close to all the places we wanted to visit and enjoyed a nice braai on the deck. A microwave would have been good to heat up the braai the morning after, but we managed on the stove.
- Vorster (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wade (5/5): Passable -
- Charl (9/5): Perfect getaway gem! - The view was fantastic while braaing, sitting in lounge. Makes you feel connected to nature.
- Karin (10/5): Exceptional - Great experience Easy access to George and surroundings
- Noleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nandipha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (3/5): Not very enjoyable stay. - Owners are nice and helped out quickly when needed. Its a shared house with very thin walls, you can hear every single thing from all the rooms next to you. The house is right next to the highway so its quite noisy and there are no curtains so the street lights shine right into the bedroom which makes it very difficult to sleep. Also had to use my own streaming accounts. Definitely not worth the amount charged per day.
- Welna (8/5): It was enjoyable - The view Kitchen - light switch too high. Cutlery not good. We kept on bumping our heads against the sharp stairs as close to it is the only working space.
- Mulweli (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claudette (8/5): Extremely lovely cabin and hosts, - the log cabin the walk from the car to the cabin
- Lucinda (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning place, very neat and owners immediately available for assistance, if needed. Cars in the main road, a bit noisy.
- Granwille (9/5): Superb -
- Steenekamp (6/5): Go try for yourself - Nice path that leads up to the rooms. Trudy is very helpfull and friendly. It is very cold and only 1 thin extra blanket. There is no lighter or matches to make coffee and we are not smokers. You can hear every word and step of the neighbours, and it is right next to the very busy main road. It sounds like you are sleeping on the road.
- Marissa (9/5): Lovely little breakaway - We loved the location, the extremely comfy bed and the super friendly and helpful owners. They really went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. As we arrived on a Sunday, they had to change the linen and clean the cabin themselves after the previous guests left! The cabin is very comfortable and had everything we needed. We did not end up using the hot tub, but that looked amazing as well. We cannot complain about ANYTHING. I would rather write some points that we wished we knew beforehand... If I had to book again, I would not go for cabin 3, as the sea view is really just visible if you literally stand at the window in the bedroom. Also it's nearest to the main road, so the serenity of the location gets somewhat disturbed. Oh and then, we left some snacks on the table overnight... BIG mistake, as we came down in the morning to a whole ant colony. This is probably common knowledge due to the location, we just did not think. Lastly, there might be some trick to getting the gas started at the stove. We left early and decided to rather get coffee on the way, but I know if I asked, the owners would be happy to assist, they were very attentive to our needs.
- Katlego (8/5): Very good - Its a rustic cabin look like and feel, great views
- Aimee (9/5): Superb - Beautiful little eco friendly cabin, comfortable bed and linen, has everything you'd need. Really stunning views.
- Walton (9/5): Superb - Really beautiful place. The lack of sound proofing between the rooms
- Wayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Botha (9/5): Superb - Loved the house, set up and basically everything.
- Masiye (7/5): Good -
- De (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ahmed (8/5): Very good - This property is gorgeous! We stayed in one of the four flatlets. The decor is very modern and the place is very clean! Not to mention the beautiful views Nothing that I didnāt like, we just didnāt know we would be staying right next to someone else, we must have read wrong
- Anna (10/5): Peaceful and lovely stay in Wilderness! - We loved how much in the nature it was and Trudie and Warren were so kind and helpful. Made the stay even better!! The views from the bedroom are exceptional, and the beds were very comfy! The only issue we had was with ants getting into our food, we just had to make sure that we closed everything properly and put it away after using. Ant spray was also provided.
- Lebogang (10/5): Log Cabin in the Wilderness - Cleanliness, location and Super amazing hosts!
Close to all places of interest including the Map of Africa,The Sea,The Lagoon,The Waterfall and hiking trails! And easy to get to the shops.
Has Wood fired hot Tub, braai facilities and beautiful deck to watch sunsets. Nothing really - only if they can add a microwave which will be convenient to warm up food as this is a self catering establishment!
- Smalberger (10/5): It was brilliant - We loved the accommodation so much and I would recommend this place to anyone 10/10 The owners were super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was amazing. If you're looking for a perfect cozy Log home to relax and spend time with your loved ones this is by far the best place I've been at and the hot tub makes is so much more fun.
- Rhinus (4/5): Disappointing - Good Wi-Fi. No blinds or curtains. Impossible to watch tv in afternoon. Walking uphill with baggage, parking not nearby. No extra bedding, only 2 coffee mugs. Very noisy, next to highway.
- Mayur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlos (8/5): Very good -
- Wildeman (8/5): Very good - Reception was excellent.
- Melanie (8/5): Very good -
- Yolande (9/5): Superb - the exposed wooden beams⦠and the view!!! splinters!!! but itās fine⦠I can tell itās a work in progress!!!
- Cheyenne (8/5): Very good -
- Yusrie (7/5): Nice - It has spectacular views The traffic noise from the freeway
- Petrie (8/5): Very good -
