Guest Reviews
- Lifeforce (8/5): -
- Maria (6/5): A bit of a disappointment. Photos don’t match. Dated facilities and unhelpful staff. - The location is good, right by the lake The photos in booking don’t match reality. The facilities are very old and dated. Not good value for money. The staff is also not very kind nor helpful.
- Tatiyana (10/5): The best in Kawaguchiko. - It is my 3rd time staying in Oike - every time I do search whole booking for new options and come back to this one. It has everything perfect in my opinion:
- the rooms are cozy and spacious,
- the onsen is great - 4 options! garden, mt fuji view and 2 private ones
- the amenities cover everything you need, e.g. there is welcome buffet at the lobby every day with pastry and drinks and there is 24/7 wine vending machine!
- and the location is perfect both for strolls and for reaching all the touristic places - the red bus stop is right there! I would love to see more western options and more fruits at breakfast (especially because Kawaguchiko was plenty of fruits!). We didn't try dinner because the restaurant was fully booked for our whole stay.
- CHE-WEI (10/5): -
- ROBERT (8/5): -
- Megan (6/5): Enjoyed stay but room needs updating - Mt Fuji view
Size of room was large
Complimentary drinks (only certain times though)
Modern looking exterior to hotel
Traditional looking
Bus transfer to K station useful
Helpful reception staff The toilet/bathroom was outdated and basic
The toilet room smelt of urine prior to using and never disappeared
The price we paid felt too expensive for the cleanliness and modern quality of the room/items in room like pillows
- NORIYUKI (10/5): -
- Glenn (3/5): Overpriced tourist trap. - Nice looking common public areas.
Nice view of Mount Fuji The entire room was tired and need renovation.
The room amenities are atrocious for this price point with green tea only supplied.
There is no effort to provide any information about the correct use of the onsen.
The onsen water in both pools was ridiculously hot.
One female staff member was very rude and dismissive but the others were great.
The restaurant information is only 2 x pictures at the front desk.
There is no bar but stupid overpriced wine dispensers and a bank of vending machines that failed us twice.

- mei ann (8/5): Lovely hotel. Highly recommend. - Free parking across the road. Hotel design was lovely, very zen. Lovely tidbits during the day at the lobby area and free coffee all day. Amazing children's playroom at the lobby area! Hotspring was lovely - they had a private outdoor hotspring, which required an additional fee. The shared hotspring had a baby cot in the ladies room for convenience. The view of mount fuji was breathtaking from the hotspring at the top floor. The tatami room was very spacious - well equipped bathroom and toilet. They also had cute yukata for children in the bedroom. Overall, lovely and comfortable stay. Highly recommend. we requested earlier check in at 1 pm - was denied.
- Lidivine (7/5): - Nice location and onsen Very small bed 135cm and very small room for expensive price very disappointing
- Jill (10/5): - Fantastic hotel with beautiful onsen facilities, our room overlooked mt fuji with its own private outdoor bath. Loved the local wines in the lounge area and children's facilities. Nothing!

- Anna (1/5): - The only positive thing about this hotel is the beautiful view of Mount Fuji. But that’s hardly the hotel’s achievement—and clear weather isn’t guaranteed anyway. We stayed for two nights and I paid over $2,000 (without breakfast). Breakfast would have cost an additional $100 for my family of four. I have never seen such outrageous breakfast prices at any hotel. Is there something extraordinary about it?
This hotel had the most unfriendly staff we encountered during our entire trip to Japan. Every time we entered, we were looked up and down and checked against a guest list, which felt extremely uncomfortable.
The room is in desperate need of renovation and proper cleaning. It honestly feels like the hotel has never heard of dusting—something that’s especially dangerous for people with allergies. Every shelf was covered in dust. Even the door was dusty. If you move the bed slightly, you’ll find layers of dust that look like they’ve been there for years. The bedroom lighting is dim, probably so guests won’t notice all this.
All the faucets in the bathroom and the onsen area are leaking. The table had stains and marks left by previous guests. The closets are very old and smell musty. The walls are covered with streaks and marks. The TV is placed off to the side of the bed, making it impossible to watch comfortably. The furniture is worn out. The mirrors clearly haven’t been cleaned in a long time. The water cooler on the first floor is dirty.
At check-in, they also charged an additional 600 yen in cash, even though this was never mentioned anywhere. No other hotel in Japan charged us extra for using the onsen. The washing machines are paid, which could at least have been included in the stay.
For $2,000 for two nights, this is completely unacceptable. I do not recommend this hotel.

- Nadhuma (10/5): - Excellent location with views of Mount Fuji
- Uvanthan (10/5): -
- Cody (7/5): A comfortable place to stay with a nice view. - We stayed here for one night so we could see Mt. Fuji before we went back to Tokyo. The bath and observation deck had nice views. It was also very close to the beach, which also had nice views. The hotel picks you up and brings you back to the station, which was great. We added breakfast, and the food was very good. The lobby was pretty cool and it had local wine tasting. This was one of the most expensive places we stayed on our trip, and it did not seem offer the same quality of experience as some of the others that were actually cheaper. Everything was nice, but very simple. It seemed like we were paying for the location and the view from the bath.
- Dominic (10/5): - The view was excellent
- Paola (9/5): -
- Laura (9/5): Enjoyed the onsen. Good location for any program near Kawaguchiko lake - Enjoyed the onsen. I also liked the aula space with delicious refreshment and a small Japanese garden. Unfortunately, we were unable to see Fuji from the room, due to rainy weather that day. (Not the hotel's fault)
- Amelia (10/5): -
- Connor (10/5): -
- Kritapat (8/5): - View - not seen Fuji view, would be good if all rooms can take Fuji view
- Kritapat (8/5): -
- Jérémy (10/5): - Chambre formidable et super vue. Merci a toute l'équipe.
- Cruz (10/5): Great - Great view of Fuji
- YITING (8/5): -
- Aliaksei (10/5): Perfect - We were very lucky to have a view of Mount Fuji. The location is excellent, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. It’s great that you can reserve a private onsen as well.
In ogni caso é tutto molto vicino.
- James (10/5): Once in a lifetime view with a traditional cultural touch - Amazing views of Fuji from the living area and the private spa. Really good room facilities, everything was really clean and very comfortable bedding.
The downstairs rest area was a really nice hub to go and hang out as well after a busy day out. I wish we stayed longer!
- Zesa Tania (10/5): Great views great food great stay! - Love the view, love the food love the facilities nil
- Zesa Tania (10/5): Love the fuji view!! - awesome food views and comfortable rooms nil
- tanatath (10/5): -
- celina (10/5): -
- Keiko (9/5): -
- Andrew (5/5): Lovely region to visit but overpriced for what you get. - Mt Fuji views Price - the property was overpriced for what it offered. Our room was tired and in need of renovation. The price was equivalent to a top Tokyo hotel but the services offered did not meet this level of expectation.
- Alex (3/5): Decent service. Horrible rooms. Dirty and smelly. - Staff is relatively friendly. Vending downstairs and staff will give change for bills. Decent location near Lawson and bridge to view Fuji. Place felt dirty and gross. Air conditioner smelled like pee. Bedsheet was too small for bed. Killed two bugs in the bathroom. The washing machines dont dry clothes well, had to run 6 drying cycles for one load of clothes. The pictures of the rooms online were nice, but in person the rooms look like a janky motel. Definitely not worth the price paid.
- Sarah (10/5): - I liked that there were tatami mats and you could go to the onsen everyday. Over all it was very traditional and in a great location. I would recommend staying there.
- Lisa (9/5): -
- katia (10/5): -
- Masato (9/5): -
- Kanittika (10/5): -
- Toon (9/5): Relaxing and Refreshing - Reliable service, great amenities and good location.
- Rackov (10/5): We will visit again. - The best onsen overlooking Mt Fuji. Also, they offer afternoon / evening tea in the lobby with nice assortment of snacks and drinks. It’s convenient for after the onsen, to relax and hang out. Great location, close to Lake Kawaguchi. Shuttle to / from the train station was very convenient. Nothing
- Juliana (10/5): - Very beautiful, well designed, comfortable and lovely spa. Not all parts of the restaurant have a view of Fuji. So despite eating our dinner at the restaurant, we didn't have any exterior windows.
- Nataliya (7/5): - Open air bath (one of the sides) was lovely, the bath at 5th floor with Fuji view actually offers no view as the windows were fogged. Wine tasting machine is very convenient, although the price is high. Welcome drink is nice. Shuttle bus to train station is useful as the hotel located far from it. That was the most expensive hotel during my stay in Japan, but the experience was not the best, as well as memories. If some hotels you don't want to leave, here I tried to minimize staying in the room - it was dated and felt untidy, the ventilation is very noizy - I had to turn it off. The place on the wall where suppose to be picture or smth was empty, but hooks where still there. I booked a hotel with a view - but as I understand there are 2 high floors - at the 4th the view of Mt.Fuji was crossed with electric pole, cabels and parking lot. Maybe at the 5th is better. Staff behavior was a bit strange, not really welcoming. Breakfast - diverse, but not delicious. Location is not convenient (you need to use the bus to get anywhere).

- Piyakorn (9/5): - Quite clean and very kind staff
- portaneri (7/5): - Employé gentils et serviable. Bel hotel.
- Ekaterina (1/5): - Lobby This hotel is a scum. It is truly disappointing and does not justify the price they charge. We paid $900 for two nights and left feeling completely dissatisfied.
The room looked nothing like the photos. While the lobby and reception area were modern and attractive, with a beautifully renovated bathroom, the actual room was old, outdated, and far from appealing.
We specifically booked a ryokan-style room expecting a traditional yet refreshed experience, but instead were met with room in urgent need of renovation. Tradition should not mean neglected.
The floors, walls, and furniture were all visibly worn. The futon mattresses felt old, and the bedding seemed cheap and uncomfortable. The fridge didn’t work, and the bathroom amenities were minimal, there wasn’t even body cream provided.
Breakfast offered variety, but unfortunately, not much flavor.
It’s honestly shocking that they charge such a high price for this level of quality.
Lying on an old, stained futon mattress, looking at wine marks on the floor, I couldn’t help but feel robbed.

- Ben (9/5): - Amazing, unobstructed, view of Mt Fuji. Staff were amazing and hotel is very clean. Great breakfast and onsen.
- Dharmesh (10/5): - staff extremely helpful, facilities (onsen and open air baths amazing, food quality, drinks and snacks very good, location was perfect to explore and get to train station nothing everything perfect

- Beatriz (10/5): Superou as Expetativas. - Adorámos tudo! Superou as expetativas. As fotografias correspondem à realidade.
- Kimberly (9/5): We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others. - Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to assist with my luggage shipment. The onsen facilities were large and clean. We also enjoyed the free donuts and beverages in the lobby area. The bathroom in our room smelled a little funny, so we left the ventilation fan on most of the time.
- Vivian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Temana (10/5): Exceptional -
- G (9/5): Superb -
- Qingwei (5/5): Passable - The breakfast is ok, especially the curry rice is tasty. The bathroom is exceptionally small, in fact the entire room is smaller than usual hotel. Only the public area is comfortable. Wine tasting machine is nice. Open air bath is not worth trying.
- Jovon (10/5): A peaceful, luxurious stay with beautiful views and the perfect onsen experience. - The decor, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere were amazing. The staff were welcoming and the amenities were top-tier. Both the indoor and outdoor onsens were incredibly relaxing, and my room had a stunning view of Mount Fuji. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like. Everything exceeded my expectations.
