Guest Reviews
- Telfer (10/5): -
- jacqueline (7/5): I have stayed here twice in 2 years and I had the same issues. Spend some money on the repairs but I did enjoy my stay. - Convenient to the occasion I was going to It needs upgraded . Marks on the wall needs replastered , the put up sofa bed also needs replaced and slight smell of dampness in the bathroom
- Andrea (8/5): Looked run down from the outside but actually nice and comfortable inside. It had everything I need. - Location was near a conference centre that I was attending a course on. The shower was fantastic and a comfortable bed.
I liked that I could just leave the key in a key box as we left. Building looked run down outside. Had to go down to a pub to ask to be let into the hotel.

- Chris (9/5): Excellent option if Glasgow hotels are busy - Newly refurbished, excellent staff - thanks Kimberley! and great welcoming bar and locals on ground floor. High quality accommodation, parking and 20 mins to Glasgow centre on easy route.
- Larry (9/5): -
- Phillip (5/5): Not to the standard expected for the price - There was nothing that stood out to like - maybe plenty of space in the car park but since that was a public one it can hardly be a positive. The signage and access to the place is abysmal - you have to be in the car park behind the building before you can find the entrance - which is not staffed and the contact number not answered!
The window blinds failed to keep the light out - had to hang a towel up to get any kind of darkness at night!
The shower was very hard to regulate the temperature - how was either full on or full off!
No food or drink - to be told to go out any buy your own and they would let you eat in the bar - if you could find it, is not acceptable.
- lisa (8/5): 😊 - Great family room Location was great for a party we were attending but far out from centre and hard to get a taxi
- Chandra (7/5): Hotel looks good and near by stores. - rooms are looks good and comfortable. Descriptions not matching with hotel, in booking.com they shown us about breakfast but in the hotel no breakfast.
make sure all the details are verified before they publish.

- Elizabeth (1/5): Disappointed - I didn't have breakfast as this was not included I am disabled and the room was on the 2nd floor. The lift wasn't working. I paid for 3 nights and left after one night. I was visiting my husband who was in the golden jubilee and had to get another hotel to stay. Really disappointed with the hotel.
- Terry (5/5): Room great, staff brilliant. Shame about the access. - The room was great. Not long refurbished I would say. Had everything I needed. Carol went above and beyond to make my stay a good one. The stairs! I am a disabled crutch user and was totally dismayed to see that the entrance is up 1.5 flights of stairs. Then the room was up another floor.
Add to that once I had negotiated the stairs the door was locked and I had to go all the way to the pub on the front of the building to get my key, then climb all those stairs again to get into my room. Not a problem if you are able bodied! Make sure you check out all the photos as beer seems to take precedence over the one of the entrance! Also the lift is out of order and it didn’t say that on Booking.com
- Wendy (7/5): - Breakfast would be great
- Craig (10/5): -
- Callum (10/5): Wonderful getaway - Staff was incredible!
- Colin (6/5): rather disappointing on arrival to find no lift working or catering on site - Bedroom excellent the fact that there was no facilities for food. not highlighted on booking form.

- Joanne (10/5): Met requirements - Cleanliness, comfort, location and staff
- Andrew (7/5): Clean comfortable and staff were realy nice - Location was good staff, were friendly and extremely helpful, amenities in surrounding area were easily reached and very extensive for a non city center hotel. No dining available on premises but plenty choices within a short distance from hhotel
- Stephen (10/5): Cool - Very nice owner and restaurant staff No breakfast

- giambattista (9/5): - Pulita, semplice.
- Dawn (5/5): Clean hotel but basic - Clean and good location for a family party No restaurant or bar for breakfast and evening drinks
- Itagi raghavendra (9/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): Great for the one night we needed it for. - Clean and good value for money. Pillows were far too hard and too high for both my husband and I. Did not have a great sleep because of this so personally would recommend changing them.
- Iain (5/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Iain (10/5): - The staff were extremely polite and helpful and due to it be a bit quieter we were allowed to check in early which made a huge difference to our stay...look forward to staying there again 😀 Just the lifts not seeming to be working so had 3 flights of stairs to climb...not an issue for us but maybe for someone with less mobility
- Lynn (8/5): - Room was lovely and myself and my little girl had a great sleep, will definitely be back x
- Rodney Shearer (7/5): - Room was nice No Internet connection
- Antony (6/5): -
- Akram El-Korashy (1/5): Horrible service - Was unable to check in - No refund until now - I was stranded outside at midnight unable to check in because no one is there. See the photos where the instructions say to go check in through the bar but the bar is also closed. No refund issued for me until now. Horrible service.
Also, I had sent them a message informing them about my late check-in more than 12 hours ahead of time. They never replied to my message.. until now.
If it weren't for the other positive reviews, I would've said this hotel is a scam. But I feel they are just really really inadequate.
Avoid this hotel by all means if you're arriving late.
Also, to the hotel administration, I want my money back. Don't be inadequate and thieves. Inadequate is enough.
- Rhianne (8/5): - The staff were very friendly and welcoming
- Dismore (8/5): - Price and staff
- Kim (7/5): Quick stay over - Rooms were both very clean and comfortable. Had a great night sleep. Was ideal for a 1night away for football trip. Took a long time to check in. We got our room keys but couldn't go to rooms until we left our bank details but the lady couldnt find the page online to input our details. My friend ended up having to help the lady... After a 4 hour drive, 20 minutes of faffing to input card details nearly tipped us over the edge!
Our smoke alarm had been covered with a carrier bag...
- Brad (10/5): -
- Mustafa (1/5): -
- Sheena (10/5): Once arrived was impressed with hotel - There was no breakfast in deal. Had to get elsewhere. The manager was very helpful with regard to this matter. Location had no signage had to ask twice where to find hotel.
- Uday (6/5): -
- Fiona (10/5): - Lovely, helpful staff. Rooms very fresh and clean. A hairdryer would have been nice. Maybe available from Reception- a small thing.
- Ryan (10/5): - Property was ideal in every situation would highly recommend
- Jean Luc (8/5): -
- Steven (10/5): On a busy street but surprisingly quite , had a good nights sleep and would stay again - I was happy with the room modern , clean and a nice room with every thing you need No food but plenty of food outlets on the doorstep ,
- stephan (8/5): nice hotel, with a bar below it in which we had a good time with the local people. - There is no breakfast available, we had to buy it it in the supermarket across the street. we saw only staff when we entered the hotel, afterwards no staff was seen. the wifi is ok, the hotal is ok, the location is far form the center but very good reacable with the bus traffic (line 17 for 45 minutes travel time.) it would be great if there is a breakfast possibility.
- David (8/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): - Modern room which was clean Blinds in window didn't block outside light. Large ceiling light glowed green all night. Although large room there was very little space because of unnecessary furniture which was not used . Down stairs entrance was quite littered.
- susan (9/5): -
- Natalie (10/5): Amazing hotel in excellent location - Clean, modern, excellent location with various restaurants and takeaways on the doorstep. The owner also owns the bar downstairs and is happy to provide plates, cutlery etc for use in the bar or beer garden. Sandra, who works in the bar, is an amazing asset to the company and a genuinely, lovely person. Nothing
- CHARRON (8/5): - Propreté
- Claire (3/5): Loud function rooms below - very noisy !!!! - Lovely rooms Rooms are above 2 functions rooms that have parties going on until 1-2am at the weekends. Very loud and no chance of sleeping.
- Susan (3/5): This property should not be promoted as a hotel and on the website it should be made clear that it is only offers a bed - Pleasant staff
Hot water
Quite quiet
Comfortable bed No reception desk/personnel
No lounge
No bar
No foyer
No signage on the main road
No Restaurant
Side entrance vulnerable to antisocial groups
Blinds on windows not able to exclude light
Cramped bedroom
No working lift
Poor description on website and misleading reviews.
- Blackwall (5/5): Convenient. - Room very good and clean. The building and location were dire.
- Christopher (4/5): Unlikely to recommend. - Bed was comfy. Room and bathroom were recently decorated.
The staff were helpful- they were fine. Bathroom was v small. You have to sit sideways on the loo as there is not space to fit your legs forward in front of you.
Blinds were of the chocolate teapot variety. Sunlight streamed into the room with the blinds fully closed as if it were daylight at 4.30am.
There were drunk people arguing at the entrance in an intimidating group on Saturday night.
The carpark left you very worried the car was going to get broken into or stolen overnight.
There was no lobby area to meet people and no chance to get breakfast. Staying as a group was therefore difficult as there was no central meeting point.
The price was nearly £100 for a night. Genuinely I am surprised you can charge that much for a room in this hotel- it seems mis-priced, and over-priced for what it is.
- Annika (6/5): -
- Scott (5/5): - No curtains got woke up at half 4 cos blinds did not keep light out.
- Ivano (9/5): -
- Natasha (9/5): Great accomodation as had to find some quick due to the hotel before being disgusting!!! - The decor of the room was excellent and all new furniture also. A great shower and bathroom and very clean indeed. The only slight niggle was that we couldn't find it as not very well as there was no signage from the main road.
- JJ (10/5): Modern, Clean, great Shower! Friendly welcome. - New modern rooms. Had everything you need for a good night's rest. Tea & Coffee making facilities in the room. (Hairdryer etc available on request from very friendly staff)
No fridge in the room which would be ideal in summer months or just to keep fresh milk for tea etc)
A very lovely cafe immediately opposite which was high quality and fairly priced along with a Tesco, newsagents, Italian restaurant, .& takeaway shop, all conveniently located.
If I were to make only one critism it would be to suggest Black Out blinds for the room The room didn't completely Black Out with the current blinds. Maybe a suggestion to the owners to install some.
- Kevin (8/5): - . .
- Gav (8/5): I stayed for 2 weeks went to book again nearly doubled in price i had to stay elsewhere - No breakfast for me The price increase
- Kathryn (9/5): -
- Anne (9/5): We had a faultless stay. It was an entirely positive experience. - We didn't have breakfast. The location was perfect for our purpose. The room was spotless, very modern and comfortable, had an excellent shower, a great WiFi connection, and the hotel is extremely close to great amenities.
- Stephen (6/5): Hardgate Hotel - Room was comfortable Bit sad going through a bar to meet the staff
- Elizabeth Garvin (5/5): Clean, free parking, convenient, cheaper than all other places. - No breakfast, but tescoe express across the road No heating on first 3 days.
No hairdryer
Noisy when functions on.
- Joann (8/5): Great stay - The room was decent sized, as was the bathroom with a great walk-in shower. Only down side with the shower was it didn't have a rubber mat & it was very slippy, which was a bit of a problem for my partner who has mobility issues although it certainly didn't deter him from using the great waterfall shower! Also, the lift not working wasn't great as we were on the top floor until the staff, who were lovely, moved us lower down. Other reviews mentioned the noise from the function room. There were parties on the two nights we stayed, but we didn't hear any noise at all
- Carole (8/5): - The room was warm overnight a fan or air conditioning would have helped cool the room
- Dolan (9/5): -
- Brian (8/5): -
- Barnaby (8/5): Pretty good and reasonably priced - Clean, newly refurbished. Free parking. Friendly staff. Pillows. Uncomfortable sofa bed - better to put a doubke bed in there and move wardrobe to corridor. Music till 1am on Fridays and Saturdays but it is not that loud when you are in your rooms as there are two firedoors. Fire alarm went off at 0.30 as someone smoking in their room - should be heavily fined.
- Paula (8/5): - Rooms were clean and stylish Lift wasn't working and had an 82 year old with us and had to go up and down 3 flight of stairs
- jasmeet (8/5): Clean, warm, comfy beds, good WiFi, excellent showers - We needed a hotel urgently because of a power cut . This was warm, with excellent chargers, comfortable beds, WiFi and hot showers. The pillows are very bulky and actually disruptive to a good night's sleep
There isn't a restaurant / room service or breakfast facilities .
- John (7/5): -
- Sarah (7/5): -
- Ellenmarie (8/5): Very good overall will be back - There for a party very modern clean Was really cold and car park was very slippy
- Chloe (6/5): perfect nights sleep - the end was very comfortable and room was a perfect size not to big or to small doors being locked and having to go out one door down stair to go in another door to walk up flights of stairs back to wear I was because of the locked door and the lift wasn’t on and the room was very warm because no air con
- Fraser (10/5): -
- Macdonald (10/5): Enjoyed very much - Never had breakfast Nothing all the staff were very friendly
- Jack (5/5): Room was nice, noise was not. - The room was lovely and clean with an updated interior. Very nice staff who were friendly and informative. Was not advertised that the room I stayed in was above a function room which would be in use during my stay. A 21st birthday party with an exceptionally loud dj and music played until 1am.
- Penelope (9/5): - Seemed to be newly refurbished very clean comfortable and nicely decorated bedrooms. Breakfast not included therefore found it a bit pricey for the area.
- Tesinmi (10/5): -
