Guest Reviews
- Deborah (10/5): Most enjoyable! - Everything was perfect ... Comfortable, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast and Kevin is a super friendly host. We can't say enough good things! Highly recommend and will definitely be staying here next time we are in the area.
- Charis (10/5): Five days well spent! - Super friendly hosts who went out of their way to make me feel part of the community. It was a very comfortable stay in a beautiful location.
- Lesley (10/5): Fabulous - Breakfast was delicious and St Keverne is a lovely village
- Prasansa (9/5): Definitely will recommend. - Very clean, the host was really humble. Love the place the area and the home was very clean and breakfast was excellent. You can hear through the other rooms and people talking downstairs.
- Jacqueline (9/5): St Keverne - Room was excellent, the House was beautiful, and so clean and very peaceful too. The breakfast was lovely too, and there was no waiting for it either. It was also not crowded, just enough people there 🙂 Its a shame that the check-in time is only 4pm, would be easier if it could have been a little bit earlier. Check-out is fine at 10am though 🙂
- Louise (10/5): Absolutely fantastic. - Everything! The hosts were fantastic and incredibly welcoming, the room was immaculate, bathroom was immaculate, breakfast was fantastic (even if I did forget to order mine daily, the host would text to ask what we wanted so we didn't miss out) quiet area, very peaceful, would definitely visit again. Nothing, everything was brilliant
- Peter (10/5): Excellent and wish we could’ve stayed longer! - Clean, tidy, comfortable and convenient Nothing
- John (10/5): Great. - Great location, fantastic breakfast ever.
Clean room, absolutely perfect place to stay. 😃 snoring neighbour
- W. (8/5): Comfortable and welcoming B&B with easy access to the South West Coast Path. - Great host and hostess Steve and Claire made us feel at home. Excellent full English and Cornish breakfasts set us up for a good day’s walking. Perfect location in the central Square of St. Keverne with several good pubs and restaurants nearby. Bedrooms a little crámped but very comfortable beds.
- Barbara (8/5): Great location for visiting this corner of Cornwall. - We liked the bay window in our room with table and chairs. Lovely big bathroom. Breakfast could have had cereal option
- Wendy (9/5): Wonderful stay, St Keverne very friendly. - Everything was great, a small fridge would be a great addition. Bed really comfy, bathroom a good size with an opening window too. Nice view over the square and our hosts were wonderful. A small fridge would have been great!
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent
- Henry (10/5): Relaxing, stunning B&B, friendly owners, beautiful rooms. 5 stars! - Everything. Friendly owners, immaculately clean rooms, always hot water, relaxed atmosphere. We had the twin room with separate bathroom and that was fine, lovely robe to wear if needed to walk across landing. We loved everything. Really could not find a fault with anything there.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect for where we wanted to visit. The facilities were excellent and the breakfast was top class. We were warmly welcomed by the owners who could not do enough for us. We would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Cornwall. Everything was perfect.
- Naomi (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ellen (6/5): Average - Cleanliness and good breakfast Not very friendly or understanding staff
- Mike (10/5): Kevin & Claire were great hosts - wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property! -
- David (9/5): Loved it - not cheap but very good standard, B&Bs like this have come a long way. - Location was fine for exploring that part of the Lizard. Bedroom and ensuite were good size, spotlessly clean, fresh and bright. Cooked breakfasts were very good. The hosts were a pleasure to meet. Would have liked a cereals option for breakfast especially on days when not wanting a cooked one. Personal preference would have been for a firmer mattress. No other negatives.
- Jo (10/5): Great stay will definitely be going back - Breakfast was lovely . The village was a great location for the places we wanted to see.
- Shiromi (10/5): Amazing B&B - This B&B was a delight to stay at. The room we stayed in was large and beautifully decorated - exactly like the photos. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were lovely.
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent accommodation - Fresh and clean establishment.Owners couldn't have made us feel more welcome.
Location ideal for walking and visiting attractions. Easy to park on the village square.
- Lesley (8/5): Nice place to stay - Great location for our diving trip N/a
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - Great breakfast and eating area, very quiet, no issues with parking, happy to assist with early arrival, fine washing facilities, nice couple owning property Difficulty in opening windows due to health, safety insurance issues probably, got rather hot, with sun shining in room on a morning, but that's the only thing
- David (9/5): Superb - Rooms excellent, very nice breakfast. Nothing.
- Sue (9/5): Great location. Would recommend. - Great location, friendly staff, clean and nicely decorated . Good cooked breakfast with free flowing tea and coffee. Would stay again Would have been nice to have access to some cereal and fruit for breakfast as well as the cooked breakfast
- Nick (9/5): Superb -
- Richard, (10/5): Exceptional - Kev and Claire were the perfect hosts
- Diane (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (9/5): V nice stay. Well looked after. Good breakfast! - Location, tidy and comfortable.
- John (6/5): disappointing - The property was very clean and welcoming For the price we paid we expected an en-suite bathroom not a private bathroom across a hall and a little more room in the bedroom.
- Kate (10/5): Delightful stay - Located in a lovely village square. Rooms very comfortable & breakfast was excellent with a good choice.
Kevin & Claire were the perfect hosts.
Highly recommend! Nothing
- Pauline (10/5): Excellent - Nothing was too much trouble at this lovely B&B. Attention to detail to make your stay perfect was totally achieved, large white fluffy towels, plenty of hot water, good quality biscuits in bedroom at all times with tea and coffee, bottles of water and excellent freshly cooked to order breakfasts which were beautifully presented. In a nutshell, we will be returning. In a delightful small village with two pubs, lovely church, picturesque cottages and a fabulous restaurant It was perfect
- Jackie (10/5): The hosts were accomodating and friendly. - Breakfast was excellent, however on booking.com it only mentions continental breakfas. A full English was available on the menu.
The location was good for us, which allowed us to travel between the locations we wanted to visit within a good distance. N/A
- Mark (10/5): Lovely 2 night break. - The owners were really friendly and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The Breakfast was really nice and on the table at exactly the time that you wanted it. The house was really nice, we stayed in the Baileys room and would definitely recommend it. There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
- Julie (10/5): A beautiful place to stay - Everything about the Old Temperance House was fantastic, a fabulous location in St Keverne. The hosts are lovely and their breakfasts are fabulous too. Our room Baileys was just beautiful, very tastefully decorated, very comfy bed and a lovely big en suite bathroom. We will definately be coming back There was nothing we didn't like
- Christine (2/5): Very disappointed and the non en suite ruined the holiday. - Breakfast was very good, but one of the rooms was terrible and not en suite, but we booked two en suite rooms or so we thought. One of the rooms was not en suite and cost just the same as the en suite room. It should have been a lot less.
- Gordon (10/5): Excellent facilities, location and hosting. - Location was excellent for visiting so many places in the area, and it was easy to find. We never had any problem parking in the free parking are directly outside the property in the village square. The breakfasts were great!!! The only small negative was that deliveries to the Spa in the squarea re noisy quite early in the morning BUT having said that, it's offset with the fact there is a local shop, and when you stay in a village centre, you have to expect some noise, so this is just to inform people so they are aware. It didn't bother us.
- Suzanne (9/5): Warm welcome and comfortable accommodation to a high standard. Would return. - We had stayed in the self catering cottage some years back so were familiar with the OTH and location. Lovely welcome from Clare when we arrived. We had a quick response to our question about the time breakfast was served via Booking.com messaging. Our room was bright and airy, very clean with a comfortable bed and large en suite.
As we were scuba diving at Porthkerris, we had to leave early. Kevin did a lovely round of bacon butties for my husband and musli, fruit and yoghurt plus toast for me. When we returned from our diving they put the heating on for us and offered to dry out our clothing as the weather had been miserable all day. Nice customer care touches. We were unsure that we would be able to have breakfast on the first morning of our stay as the time it was due to be served was a little too late for us. However, Kevin and Clare did accommodate us so all good in the end.
- Lynda (10/5): Beautiful old house. - Lovely old building, but with mod cons to make the stay comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Our host was very welcoming, and the location was great.
- Paula (10/5): Lovely stay in the heart of Cornwall. - The B&B itself was lovely and accommodating. Surrounding area is great for walks, there’s a couple of local pubs which are warm and cosy and a local shop.
- Colinbidgood (8/5): Very good -
- Glen (10/5): Great B&B in the beautiful village of St Keverne - Old Temperance House is in a good location for exploring Cornwall, situated in the centre of the small village St Keverne and less than a minute walk from two great pubs that serve good food. Roskilly's farm is also a short drive and within walking distance from OTH, where they make ice cream and serve hot food on certain days of the week. We really enjoyed our full English breakfast at the b&b, and Kevin was a great host. We wish we had more time to explore the local area - the walk to Porthoustock was really nice. We also had a short drive to Coverack, which was beautiful too!
- Lorraine (9/5): 2 nights on the Lizard. - Loved that the room overlooked the village square which had a lovely feeling to it. There is a small table in the room with 2 chairs that you can sit at. Breakfast was lovely (we had a bowl of fruit with croissant that came with jam and cornish cream) along with toast and coffee. There were other choices. The shower was not the best (though it did work).
- Anonymous (7/5): Good - The hosts were very nice. Lots of history here! The private bathroom is actually outside the room and has a separate keys.
The walls are quite permeable, we could hear the couple in the next room snore!
The drive was hard, but I think it’s something which I wasn’t used too.
- Earthy (9/5): Old Temperance House - Old Temperance House was a very good location for exploring this particular part of Cornwall. We really enjoyed and appreciated the history associated with the village. The bed was very comfortable and we had excellent breakfasts cooked by Kevin, which kept us going all day on some long walks. Beautiful countryside and coastal paths with generally well signposted walking. There was a lovely path to Coverack across the fields. Lots of wildlife to be seen. A few places (The Lavender Farm and Roskillys) that we didn't get time to visit and a lot more walks to do. Next time hopefully!
- John (9/5): Great - really enjoyed it - Great breakfasts. Good location. Helpful and friendly people who helped with storage of medicine for us Nothing I didn't actually like. However what could have been better were ventilation in the room - the window sash was very heavy and had limited opening
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Mara (10/5): Had such a wonderful stay, thank you so much! - loved the peace and quiet. Also in love with the beautiful bathroom nothing
- Jean-marie (8/5): quaint inn on the square - great location with friendly hosts serving a wonderful breakfast. the room with 2 twin beds is very cramped. had to move our luggage back and forth to access our clothes. the mattresses were pretty uncomfortable for side sleepers. no air conditioning.
- Murphy (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (8/5): Lovely stay - Lovely place to stay in St Keverne. Right on the square so easy to walk to the local pubs for dinner and not too far to walk down the lane to Roskillys for ice-cream! Great breakfast and lovely hosts. The bed was a bit soft for myself and my partner.
- Giorgio (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (9/5): comfortable and good value with welcoming hosts. - spacious room and en suite. parking was difficult on occasions.
- Robert (10/5): Great - Breakfast Nothing
- Rachel (8/5): clean and cosy - clean
spacious
- Vicki (9/5): Very enjoyable stay. - Great location for visiting places of interest, the Lizard, St Michaels Mount etc. Good pub and restaurant in the village. Kevin's breakfast was excellent and the room and bathroom spotless. No No complaints.
- Sharon (10/5): A comfortable, clean, spacious and well run bnb - we had a wonderful stay, slept so well each night. The room was spacious, large bed, sheets soft and had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. great wifi too! Breakfast was simple but filling, vegetarians are catered for. Highly recommend staying here if you are in St Keverne. nothing
- Lynnette (10/5): Would def recommend this property we booked at short notice and wasn’t disappointed - Very friendly, breakfast was lovely, spotless. Facilities were perfect. Couldn’t fault it.
- Manuel (9/5): Superb - Friendly, freshly made breakfast with fresh fruits Very soft bed
- Imco (9/5): value for money - very nice BB,spotless clean.
and really nice host nothing
- Claire (8/5): Clean, good location and very good breakfasts. - The room was very clean, bright and welcoming. The provision of a beverage tray was very welcoming and replenished each day at our request. Easy to park. Breakfast menu had a good selection and was well presented and delicious on both days. Being able to come and go throughout the day was very helpful and easy. Good location. The bathroom was very nice, however was a problem for my husband who is over 6 ft as his head touched the ceiling standing in the bath for a shower. The bed was very hard and low to the floor. Narrow walkway in front of the bed. Sockets not by a mirror for hairdryer - maybe an extension lead could be provided!
