- Vasilisa (10/5): A charming and authentic farm stay with a wonderful atmosphere and very welcoming hosts. - Our stay at the farm was wonderful. The hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole place feel warm and relaxed from the moment you arrive.
The farm has a beautiful, authentic old-world atmosphere with lots of character. There’s a lovely lake nearby and a walking trail that starts from the farm, which is perfect for enjoying nature.
We also loved the friendly cats on the property. In the evenings you can play billiards or table tennis, which makes the stay even more fun.
Breakfast was included and very nice. ♥️🥰
The only thing to keep in mind for those who find it important is that the last 10 km of the road to the farm is a gravel road.
A truly charming and unique place — we would happily come back. Everything was very good♥️

Our boy loved the pool table and table tennis facilities 🤩🎉... And we all fell in love with the 10 month old kittens, and dear old Queenie 🥰
Superb 4 nights stay in a beautiful part of the world. My only complaint would be the mugs were too small for our morning coffees 🥴

- Terry (8/5): Wonderful, peaceful - Great location, amazing staff. Would definitely return
- Sarah (9/5): - A Very generous breakfast, beautiful farm setting in a lovely old farmhouse
- Serena (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Far exceeded my expections - This guest farm far exceeded my expectations. Sindy and Kim were the most exceptional hosts. The upgraded room they offered me was wonderfully rustic but with every luxury and comfort I could want. The continental breakfast the next morning was superb with fresh rolls from the oven, fresh fruit salad, great coffee, served in a fresh and inviting cafe dining room. With a place more off the beaten track than I expected, it offered everything I could want from a top grade hotel (thankfully without a tv in the room) along with great care and kindness. Well done and thank you.
- Guest (9/5): Enjoyed my every minute i spend there - The place was very good .My family enjoyed the experience .We looking forward to go back and stay a little bit longer than last time I think they need to put Tv's in the rooms otherwise everything else is awesome

- Adam O'Mahoney (10/5): Peace and magic in the country - Everything!!! We took our daughter for her first birthday, and she loves birds - there were two blue cranes always about, weavers, lots of mallard ducks, southern red bishops and more. The old country house decor of the rooms was so gorgeous and were the old grape vines climbing up the front of the chalet. The red roses were just in bloom and they added a certain magic. The dam, the pond, the swings, the reeds, being in the quiet of the country…. It was much more than we expected! And the hostess was so lovely, she made us feel so welcome and even helped us with sticky tape for pressie wrapping. She definitely made our stay much more pleasant by her warmth. The walks into the country were so calming, no sounds, just the birds and the trees…. A space to come back to yourself through nature. Highly recommend!!! Nothing. It was amazing.
- Michele (10/5): Outstanding - Stunning location
- Steff (10/5): Schöne Farm - Abgelegene Farm mit sehr schönem Garten mit Dam zum Baden und Kajakfahren. Die Gegend eignet sich gut, um zu wandern. Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin.

- Anel (10/5): -
- Lauren (9/5): Beautiful oasis just outside of Town. - The location is great, close enough to town but far enough away that you feel like you are in a little oasis. The room had everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable and the fireplace made it very cosey. The pillows are a little tired themselves but otherwise nothing we did not like.
- Lindsay (9/5): Loved it! Thank you - Beautiful surroundings & excellent host Sindy

- Morris (10/5): A Peaceful and Charming Weekend at Whipstock Farm - We spent a magical weekend at Whipstock Farm in McGregor and returned home feeling completely refreshed and reconnected with nature. Nestled in the foothills outside the village, the farm is a haven of stillness, simplicity, and old-world charm.
The accommodation is rustic but full of heart—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared with everything that we might need. We loved waking up to the sound of birdsong, sitting on the stoep with our coffee, and watching the morning light stretch across the fields and surrounding mountains.
Our days were filled with gentle walks, visits to local coffee shops, and unhurried meals shared in good company. The landscape is breathtaking: rolling hills, dusty trails, crisp Karoo air, and dramatic skies—ideal for those looking to slow down and soak up the soul of the countryside.
The hosts were welcoming and relaxed, giving us space to just be, while still making us feel like treasured guests.
Whipstock Farm is the kind of place that lingers with you long after you’ve left. If you’re looking for a digital detox, a creative reset, or quality time with loved ones in a beautiful, honest setting—this is it. Nothing

- Johan (9/5): We definitely recommend Whipstock for those looking for a special experience. - Fantastic breakfast with meusli, cold meats, freshly baked pastries, juice, coffee/tea and bacon & eggs - Cindy really makes a special breakfast. Cosy room with exquisite views of the surrounding countryside. Quiet and serene we had a great night's rest. Fireplace draft was not great so the room got a bit smoked up. Please add placemats and/or a tablecloth for self-catering meals. There are candles but no candle holder.
- Sheetal (9/5): Superb -

- Mark (10/5): 10/10 - Whipstock Farm is a gem….the quintessential farm stay in beautiful surroundings. Sindy is a brilliant host.
- Michelle (10/5): Heaven on earth. - Whilst the gravel road to get to the farm is quite long, it is absolutely worth it. This really is a peace of heaven on earth. Sindy was fantastic, looking after all our needs. The fishing is good, the facilities are great, fans in the room appreciated. Lovely breakfast cooked fresh fit for a king. Took hundreds of photos. Beds are comfortable, good hot water in the shower. Amazing tranquil environment. This is a must stay for all fellow rat racers. Ten out of ten. Even though this is a family establishment, there were a lot of noisy children, running around, being very loud - also at the fishing location, when they arrived, we had to pack up, as they were un-supervised by their parents and were very noisy.
- Wendy (9/5): Quiet escape in McGregor - We stayed in one of the self catering units. Plenty of space, comfy bed in a lovely renovated cottage. The farm is very old and traditional with beautiful views of the mountains. Very close to the Boesmanskloof hike and Vrolijkheid reserve and McGregor is close by for restaurants. Sindy manages the accommodation and is very helpful and friendly! All good.
- Hannes (9/5): Superb - Well managed and heartfelt sincere people.
