Guest Reviews
- Tim (10/5): A great place to stay even in the cold and wintry conditions. - The location was amazing. The cottage was well laid out and spotless. The log fire worked very well as we had several cold nights. We had a lot of wild, windy nights and i assume that was the reason for the poor TV reception. This could be partly resolved if there was a DVD player available.
- Hayley (9/5): -
- Dhanesh (10/5): -
- David (9/5): A perfect place to unplug and reconnect with a beautiful scenic environment. - Beautiful location. The scenery was exceptional and the cottage was very well designed and equipped. My elderly mother really appreciated the accessible bathroom. The animals were friendly and so were the hosts. Nothing really. About 10 to 15 minutes to the local town but that’s also adds to the charm.
- Frances (10/5): Gorgeous! - Gorgeous well equipped cottages in the middle of stunning country Nothing we loved it
- Andy (10/5): Modern, well-appointed cottage in beautiful, secluded location with great views - Design & quality of furnishings, beautiful hillside views, chickens!, proximity to Wilsons Prom Nothing
- Elizabeth (10/5): Very relaxing. - Beautiful views. Lovely cabin.
- Judith (9/5): A great place for a retreat - This self contained cottage was a delight to stay in. Warm and cosy during some stormy weather. Great views across the nearby hills. Sunshine streaming in the picture windows. I shall stay here again. The weather at times was stormy and miserable, but that can’t be changed. A

Kate and Adrian were great hosts and would 10% recommend to anyone of staying at Maple Ridge
- Rose (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing - Relaxing place Bedroom got very hot cause aircon can’t cool room down. Ceiling fan can only do so much
- Melissa (9/5): Charming country cottage! - The views were stunning from the house, we also loved being able to see all the animals. The bathroom was lovely especially for a nice shower after swimming in the pool. Everything was great.
- Alexandra (10/5): - Everything! I would really recommend this cosy cottage Nothing
- Kerry (8/5): Enjoyed our stay, and would definitely return to stay in the one bedroom cabin. - Loved the property - the grounds, the animals, the bbq area and fire pit. The beautiful views! The cabins were well-appointed and immaculately kept. For two couples, we found that in the 2-br we were a little on top of eachother, with only one bathroom and toilet and a small floorspace. The second bedroom adjoins the lounge-room with a bi-fold door, so there is no real noise buffer. Fine for a family with kids, but a bit intimate for two couples!
- Monique (9/5): -
- Robyn (8/5): Perfect location for a group of friends, family with multiple cottages and great outdoor entertaining area with bbq and - Well laid out, beautifully maintained and gorgeous views. A bit of a drive to the nearest town.
- Stefan (10/5): Quiet and amazing - We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. We had the Hakea cottage nearby some furry friends. The cottage seems to be brand new with a very tasteful Interieur. Everything was super clean and working well.
The pool was warm and clean and big enough to take a swim.
Also, the owners Kate and Adrian are amazing friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this place for everybody.

- Jane (10/5): Maple Ridge Cottages exceeded our expectations in every way. - Beautifully appointed country cottages with amazing views. Owners have thoughtfully provided everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Beds and linen very high quality, plenty of china and cutlery.
Thank you Adrian and Kate for a fabulous stay. It would be very difficult to find anything to be critical about.
- Luisa (10/5): - The property is absolutely stunning, even better than the photos. Impeccably clean, with breathtaking views and an incredible sense of peace and tranquility. The hosts are incredibly warm and clearly care deeply about their property; not a single detail is overlooked.
- ANTONIO (7/5): - La puesta de sol desde la terraza y las estrellas, un lugar estupendo para ver ambas, si está despejado La cocina aunque completa no me resultó cómoda.
- Leanne (10/5): Immaculately clean super friendly hosts, beautiful views can't fault it in any way - Kate and Adriene were such warm, friendly and welcoming hosts. We go away often in Australia and overseas and I'm a clean freak and sanitise and wipe down counters, switches, handles and plugs and wash dishes before using them but our unit didn't have an ounce of dust or dirt in it and for the first time ever I didn't feel the need to clean a single thing as the unit was spotless. I loved soaking in the tub watching the animals and their antics just outside the window. Kate was kind enough to tell me that a lamb was about to be born and we watched the birth which made our stay that much more memorable. We will def be back Nothing
- Anneke (10/5): - Attention to detail. All we needed was there.

- Nicole (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing stay at the stunning Maple Ridge Cottages! - WOW!!! Stunning!! Driving in to the rolling hill views was spectacular and the friendly animals put a smile on all our faces.....even the rooster that may have begun it's day at 5am!! Our cottage was spotlessly clean. A warm and cosy feel overlooking the hills. It was hard to look away. Our cottage was newly renovated to perfection. Beds were comfy, Beautiful, clean and comfortable linen and blankets provided on the beds and for the bathroom....everything we needed. A lovely warm fireplace kept the cottage sizzling. We really couldn't fault anything. So relaxing. Kate & Adrian were extremely welcoming. Great hospitality. Highly recommend. Just needed an extra mirror.....maybe a long mirror in one of the bedrooms....third world problem for the ladies...LOL!

"Calistemon" was our cottege and it is the nicest arrangement that you could ask for. 10/10 for the clenliness and for all the complementaries. Great view looking over to the grasslands.
Had a nice chat with Kate and hats off to both Kate and Adrian for their hard work. Glad that we could bring the much awaited rain to Dumbalk.😀
100% recommend and definetly looking forward to visiting you again with friends. Keep up the good work and good luck for all your future works.

Thank you 😁 Nothing
- Paul (9/5): Peaceful and relaxing - The cottage was self catering . The location was beautiful and surrounding gardens a credit to the owners. On site was a bbq area, fire pit surrounded by rustic seating, a heated pool and a beautiful lake. Shading over the top windows especially the ones facing west. On the very hot days the sunlight was very intense especially in the bedroom. Everything else was perfect and cosy.
- Sue (10/5): Thoughtfully presented cottages in a beautiful location, very relaxing. - Welcoming hosts, exceptionally clean, comfortable beds, unique location tucked in the South Gippsland hills, with views of the sheep and lambs. A great relaxing get away.
- Malinda (10/5): Exceptional - We’re from 🇱🇰 The place was incredible full of natural beauty with calmness. Perfect escape from busy lives. The staff were also very friendly and supportive. We really enjoyed our stay over here. Highly recommended.
- Karim (1/5): Terrible Experience – Avoid This Property, - We booked a 2-bedroom cottage, listed for 4 adults, for myself, my wife, and our 3 children (ages 6, 7, and 8). Despite agreeing to pay the extra $145 demanded for our children, the owner, Adrian, acted aggressively and unprofessionally. He accused us of dishonesty because we booked for 2 adults and spoke to my wife in front of our children in a disrespectful manner. Late at night, he forcibly evicted my wife and kids while I was away, causing my children to cry and leaving my wife in fear. Adrian’s behavior traumatized my children and caused lasting sad memories. His unprofessional behavior was completely unacceptable. I strongly advise against staying here.
- Elizeh (10/5): Gorgeous cottage on a farm, highly recommend this stay! - Beautiful property and cottage on a farm. Very clean and gorgeous design interior and exterior of the cottage. Stunning views. Lots of friendly and cute animals. Very friendly hosts. Would stay here again and recommend it to my friends. Great place to stay for some serenity outside of the city.
- Susie (9/5): delightful -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (10/5): Loved our stay at Maple Ridge and would happily stay again! - Location was wonderful with a great rolling view of hills and valleys - with grazing sheep and alpacas. Really liked the cottage too - perfect size for a family of 4 and had all amenities needed. Had access to a pool with a perfect temperature and we were the only people ever in there.
- Laura (10/5): Beautiful escape with amazing views of the hills, clean and luxurious accommodation - Beautiful, tranquil, serene & luxurious.
- Brenda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kaye (10/5): Exceptional - Kate & Adrian were fantastic hosts. They gave us attention when needed but also left us to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the beautiful cottage and surrounds.
- Sook (10/5): Exceptional - The location is absolutely breathtaking with the stunning mountain views that surrounded us - truly a peaceful and serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The views were simply spectacular and waking up to the sight of those majestic mountains every morning was a highlight of our stay. And dont mention the night views -billions of stars above your head ! The cottages itself have everything that we need! The room ,the bed were cozy, comfortable and impeccably well maintained. My 5 yrs old daughter was enjoyed herself very much in the heated pool and pat the alpaca and sheep every morning and evening were made our stays even more special. We will definitely returning again and recommend your lovely cottages to everyone!

The friendly owners have put alot of care into providing a wonderful place to stay - only a short drive to the towns of S Gippsland. Highly recommend. Nothing.

- Ben (3/5): Comfortable, but location is out of the way. - Clean and quiet. The host has a lot of rules, disappointing that this was our second stay and we discovered at the last minute that the host does not allow anyone not staying to visit the cabins for lunch or use the pool. We will look for something different next time.
- Richard (10/5): perfect for us -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - A luxurious cottage in a peaceful environment with outstanding views. Close proximity to Wilsons Promontory & surrounding villages. Owners were so friendly & welcoming, & are very proud of the work they have done in renovating the cottages & beautiful gardens. Lovely comfy bed & modern furnishings made us feel at home. Would loved to have stayed for longer. Too short a stay
- Suzanne (10/5): Have this place as my go to place anytime of the year. - Location, location, location!!! Gorgeous appointed cottages, stunning views of rolling hills, sheep, cattle and the odd alpaca. An absolute delight. Almost don't want to tell anyone about it and keep it to myself. Definately going back again soon and likely to make this my place to de-stress. Suitable for families, romantic getaway, fun weekend, fenced pool available, outdoor cooking venue and fire pit. Only 4 cottages well placed nestled amongst a stunning garden with a large pond, water feature, ducks and chickens. Sunsets, champagne and a cheese board recommended. There was nothing to not like about Maple Ridge Cottages.

The upgraded facilities were a pleasant surprise, and the comfortable bed ensured a good night's sleep after a day of exploring. What stood out the most was the meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of the living experience. Overall, it was a fantastic stay that exceeded our expectations.

- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Achintha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kealy (10/5): Perfect stay for a romantic and quiet weekend - beautiful location, view and cottage wish I could pet the animals but it’s understandable
- Anne (4/5): Disappointing - Nice set up, beautiful view, good location We stayed at Maple Ridge Cottages end of February. Waratah cottage is beautifully set up with a magnificent view on the hills but had we known the information provided in the Welcome letter, we would have not booked it with a toddler. After reading the letter we just did not feel comfortable and could not relax at the cottage with our active 2 year old. We have stayed at many hotels and cottages of same standard with him and never felt so self-conscious about our every move. Luckily the weather was lovely at the time and there is plenty to explore around.
We also picked this property for the farm animals and we were quite disappointed our son could not have more interaction with them. We understand the reasons behind it but felt it should have been advertised upfront.
We would also have liked to know that the property is on rain water.
Finally we had the unpleasant surprise to have $20 deducted from our bank account for an apparently missing coffee container. As we always travel with our own coffee and coffee plunger we did not realise there was supposed to be coffee pods. That was later refunded but we did not appreciate the way it was handled. They were very quick to debit the money without giving us a chance to get back to them, less than 3hrs from the first missed call and at the time we were out of range. The rationale for the haste was to get a new container on a Sunday for the next guests. We found this was a bit dishonest when they had confirmed there were only 3 teaspoons although 4 items of the rest of the cutlery for a 4 people accommodation.
So yes a beautiful place but we would not recommend it with young children and we would advise to take pictures on arrival just in case.
- Richard (10/5): We spent two very inspiring and comfortable days on this property, and look forward to returning. - No meals were provided. It was self catering. The surroundings were exquisite, rolling hills, farm animals, as one would expect in country Gippsland. We were looking for art inspiration and somewhere to relax, which we found. The owners are very friendly and inspiring too, with an immaculate property, full of their own artistry. The location was central to surrounding towns, so was ideal for us. We wished we could have stayed for longer!
- Moyra (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful. - The cottages are self catering, so no breakfast is provided. However the hosts did provide tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits; also a small carton of milk. All the kitchen appliances were practically new, including the cutlery and crockery. The cottage was spotlessly clean with beautiful views everywhere we looked. An added bonus for us were the animals - a horse, alpaccas, sheep, lambs, and chickens, all kept as pets. The hosts, Kate and Adrian, are very friendly and helpful and made sure that our stay was as pleasant as possible. Nothing
