• Tom (8/5): Had a great time in Friday Harbor! This was a great place to kick back after a day of exploring. - Beautiful view of the harbor and within walking distance to town. Very cozy and comfortable bed. This is a minor issue but having to use the bathroom sink to clean cups and utensils was odd. The unit was described as a studio apartment and so I had imagined a separate sink and countertop outside of the bathroom.
• Markay (10/5): Lovely harbor side cottage with beautiful views - We loved the location, the view and the property. There were two tables with chairs we enjoyed depending on where the sun was either the grass or by our room. We were in the Secret Garden. Also having a toaster, dishes, and coffee made it very convenient and relaxing. We would highly recommend. The bed was a little soft for us but still comfy. The bathroom could use a little more light.

• Guest (10/5): Beautiful views! Walkable location, private patio and very cozy bed. - Room was ready on time, keys were available for us. Bed was clean and comfortable. Beautiful location and view, and it felt secluded and romantic! Great location to walk around the island and get to all the food and fun. The staircase access to our room was blocked by cars a few times. We were a little unsure how to check in but once we got to the property, it was clear!
• Lynch (10/5): - The host was very responsive, providing detailed information to ensure easy entry. Parking was available which was helpful, and so easy to walk into town while offering a quiet spot by the water. The place far exceeded our expectations. Gem of the island, will be wanting to come back! Wifi was a bit slow, so if people wanted to work would be difficult. Was perfect for a getaway for us though!

• Mary (9/5): Serene, Waterfront Stay in Friday Harbor - The location of the property and view of the harbor from the back deck were by far the best features. It was a great place to have coffee in the morning and watch the sunset at night. The kitchen was well equipped, and generally, the place had everything essential to a multi-night stay. The owners were very communicative as well. It was all fine.

• Joel (9/5): Superb - Right on the water; the larger unit next to us was unoccupied so we were able to use their deck to sit and enjoy the water, harbor, boats coming in and out. Though the unit is small, it's tastefully done and has a window looking out over the water. If the unit next to us had been occupied, we would see into their living area from our little patio and they would walk right by our unit to get to theirs. As noted, lots of steps up and down to the unit!

• Lisa (10/5): great location, great host, great view - the view was absolutely fantastic. You could sit and watch the goings-on along the water in Friday Harbor. This made us feel like we were touring even when we were chilling out at Friday Harbor Lights. It's a short walk from the ferry - very doable on foot or bike. Walkable to lots of restaurants, a coffee shop and a grocery store. Walden restaurant has a popup bakery nearby on Saturdays. Be aware that there are a lot of steps to reach the unit. Had I known there was a fame-worthy restaurant nearby (Walden), I would have made reservations in advance.

• Debra (9/5): We had a wonderful visit to Friday Harbor ans the location of our studio had a lot to do with our experience! - The view and location were outstanding! So close to town and the ferries. We loved sitting on the patio overlooking the water. The bed wasn’t super comfortable.

• Mark (9/5): Best vacation ever. - Property location was absolutely perfect, and not too close to ferry or road traffic. Watched harbor seals and kingfisher from main deck. Very clean and secure. Took advantage of multiple activities (whale watching, seaplane tour, island car rental, etc.) Minor noise from baseboard heaters. Difficult stairs to property (but we knew about that challenge before we arrived).
• Dugger (9/5): Beautiful, serene location with lovely view of harbor and ferries. - The location is one in a million. Hard to manage costs, outerwear, robes etc as the unit does not have space dedicated for hanging things. We talked with Elizabeth and shared a few ideas with her. Confident a few more wall hangers, etc. will be put up.
• Cara (10/5): I would stay at this house every time I return to Friday Harbor; I ’s lovely. - The view was spectacular. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had what we needed. The communication with the owner was so friendly and helpful. The steps could prove challenging for someone elderly or with knee issues.

Coffee on the deck watching the sun come up and then a walk to our favorite breakfast place just a few blocks away every morning of our stay. We pretty much liked it all. If you can't do stairs this place is not for you. However, if you can handle stairs the views are worth it!
• Haley (7/5): Great location to experience life on the island with an opportunity for property updates - The location was great, it was very close to downtown and easy to walk. The view was also great, the property looked right over the water and we were able to watch the ferries and sea planes come in. The property was extremely outdated. The floors were not very clean and the rug not well vacuumed. We tried to use the vacuum on site but it did not pick up well. For the price the property could use some updates and better cleaning.

• Kimberly (9/5): We were very happy with our stay at Friday Harbor Lights and would look to book again if we have the chance to return to - My daughter and I stayed in the “Secret Garden,” which had a deck overlooking the water, where we enjoyed a carry-out dinner one night. The views were incredible and we loved being able to go out on the dock in the evening of the new moon and see the bioluminescence in the water. The property was hard to find, with the only signage being on a mailbox that was blocked from view by a parked car. The street parking was also a little tight, though we were able to find a spot and then did not have to move the car again until we checked out (the location was perfect for walking into the main part of town). There is a steep set of stairs down to the rooms, which could be tricky to navigate with baggage.

It was clean, roomy, had air conditioning and a fan, I needed both:) the bed was super comfy and I’m goin to order same pillows:)

• Kathryn (8/5): Very good - The views were amazing! Love the huge windows. We watched boats, ferries, birds, and even seals daily! Nice big house with a large porch along the waterfront. Wonderful communication with the owner. Wish we had known there was no DVD player, cable TV, or satellite. Normally, we wouldn't care, but we were sick a few days and wanted to see the Olympics. We would also have liked to have a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Amenities were very basic for the price point. The house is dated and could use updating. A few upgrades in quality and decor would go a long way in making guests feel pampered.
• Philip (6/5): Great location in small quaint room with nice patio. - Great location, friendly host, small patio We got a different, smaller unit than in ad. Unit was small. Skywindows had no window covers and sunlight comes directly into eyes in the morning. Lots of steps!
• Bridgman (5/5): Great location, but the accommodations were not for us. - The location is the reason you stay here. Minutes from the harbor and a great view. The accommodations were not what we expected from the pictures. The room was small and musky. If you wanted privacy from the walkway, there was no view of the water. There were two windows up high, but we still felt closed in. The bed was too soft to be comfortable. The furnishings were sparse and dated. There was no place to store clothes. The property owners were nice and responsive, this just wasn’t the place for us. If you were staying in the Captain Quarters you may have a different experience, but the Secret Garden room was less that ideal.

• Young (10/5): Wonderful! - The view is stunning! The studio we stayed in is very cute and comfortable with AC, coffee, tea, a small refrigerator, microwave and dishes. The patio outside with a table and chairs was very pleasant. Jennifer the hostess was wonderful as well! The walk down the stone stairs was beautiful for us however would be difficult for someone who can’t do stairs.

• Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were friendly and communicative. Parking was easy and access from ferry & downtown cannot be beat—we had a 530AM ferry departure and were checked in & in line less than 5 minutes after leaving the property door. We were pleasantly surprised to have AC! Did not expect that on the island. The view is incredible. We chose this over a more expensive stay at Roche Harbor, where we attended a wedding, and were happy to stay in the town and meet some of the local families, go to the brewery, see the farmers market, etc.
• Savanna (9/5): It is a beautiful place to stay - I loved the view and it was a cozy little place It was smaller than I expected but it had everything you need. A couple of the windows didn’t have blinds so it was hard to sleep in

• Douglas (9/5): Gorgeous view! An easy & convenient location, right-near the ferry dock in Friday Harbor. - The view is truly exceptional, and the cabin was nice. Lots of steps to get to the Secret Garden Suite, which can be tricky if you are carrying luggage; lack of a dresser space to put clothing during stay.

• Luke (6/5): I’m glad we had fun outdoor activities planned. Location was great, but the unit was underwhelming. - Location was great, and garden was lovely. The room we stayed in had no view, was unexpectedly small, and smelled like an old smoker’s home. The photos on the site mostly highlighted the other two units on the property, and it wasn’t clear which one we reserved.
• Imogen (10/5): What a place to stay! Watching seals in the harbour from our bedroom - Amazing location, just 5 minutes walk to town and being right on the waters edge was wonderful. We sat and had drinks in the evening and watched the ferries and planes coming and going. It was great to be able to go down on the jetty. Nice comfy bed and our cabin was super clean. Loved our stay

The property managers were friendly (Ed, Barbara, and Jennifer) and made the stay pleasant. Close to town, very short walk. I should have brought a kayak. The dock was very inviting. I liked everything.

• Pc (9/5): We celebrated our 35th Anniversary on the most scenic private point in Friday Harbor. - The view was fabulous and there was lots of wild life. The Captains Quarter was spacious and the deck was a bonus. We were able to see boats, floats planes, and ferries in the sun and the fog. Lots of great views we will never forget. The spiral rock staircase between parking and getting to the room was very steep and a little rickety. Access with groceries or wearing heels for going to dinner was a little less enjoyable.

• Lynn (10/5): what is it they say about the best places to stay? Location, location, location. - I couldn’t have been happier with the location of my secret garden room at Friday Harbor Lights. It’s only two blocks to town and the ferry. The garden and yard area meet up with the beautiful waterfront. The views of the other islands, and the boats were amazing. I really enjoyed chatting with the owners and property manager. They take such great care of the place. I felt like I was tucked away, but still in the middle of it all. You can’t beat the location for proximity to town and the ferry. It’s right on the water and you get to watch the ferry come in and the boats go by and the sea planes take off and land. The gardens were so well-maintained with lots of little unique flowers.
• Scott (10/5): Incredible home with amazing hosts! - My boss stated here over there week for a guys fishing trip. They couldn’t stop raving about how amazing it was!! They’ll be making more reservations throughout the summer. That the trip wasn’t longer haha.

• Feargal (10/5): If we could both quit our jobs and move to this magical place we would. - We originally were scheduled to stay in the smaller unit - but due to a water heater issue that was very quickly resolved we were offer an upgrade to a larger unit which was fabulous. The view was amazing, we were able to watch the sun set and rise, the ferries come and go and all of of the harbor action. we truly did not want to leave. The amount of stairs could be an issue for some people - did not bother us. But we also realized stairs are sort of a thing in Friday Harbor.

• Tamra (9/5): We Really Loved Our Stay at Harbor Lights - Loved, loved, loved the location. The views were phenomenal. The house was very dated and not very clean. Everything needs to be cleaned better.

• Robert (2/5): We spent as much time out side as possible...the accomodation barely ok to stay. - The one thing very likeable about this property is location! In our opinion, the only thing it has going for it....great view and walking distance to the ferry and to town It ( Secret Garden) was misrepresented as an efficiency studio one bedroom. It had no paper towels, no can opener and the only place to wash a glass or dish was the bathroom sink....Ugh. The "coffee pot" was only the 3-4 cup version with no filters that fit. Two of 4 light bulbs were burned out in the bathroom; we immediately called and yet after 4 days, still no light bulbs. The toilet leaked. The shower was moldy. The place was old and dark and dated and extremely small. The owners are obviously relying on the great location to make up for other very unsatisfactory elements.

• Chandler (9/5): Superb - The location was hard to beat. It was a short walk to downtown Friday harbor and the ferry, as well as steps away from the water. Opening the window to the view of the harbor was unbelievable! It was also a great value and the owners were very welcoming. Would definitely stay again! Leaving it, wish we could have stayed longer!
