Guest Reviews
- Carole (8/5): Super half term stay, lovely home in a fantastic location - Lovely accommodation which was well-equipped for our needs. There was a lovely guest garden which we used a couple of times. Fantastic location for visiting Cheddar, Glastonbury, Blagdon and Wells. Wedmore, just down the road, was very nice too. Stunning view of the Mendips from where we stayed. Amber left us some welcome goodies which was very kind. She was very quick to respond to any queries too. Purely personal, the double mattress was a little too soft for us.
- Rosie (9/5): Great little barn in close proximity to Wedmore - Well located for getting into Wedmore, clean, as pictured, easy to find, parking on site, great value for money Nothing
- Julia (9/5): -
- Emily (10/5): If you’re looking for a clean, tidy property with excellent location then this is it. - The property & location was perfect for us. It was exceptionally clean & had everything we needed. I would definitely stay again if available.

- Reynolds (10/5): - Ideally situated for Cheddar and Wells. A lovely location and well equipped accommodation.
Amber responds quickly to queries and the thoughtful gifts were appreciated.
A comfortable and relaxing stay, surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Would stay here again.
- Craig (8/5): The owners were very helpful and did offer an extra night free of charge to compensate for the Wi-Fi outage but we’d alr - Beautiful house, such a pretty place Wi-Fi issues which put a downer on the last 2 days of the 5 we were there.
- Claire (10/5): - Cosy accomodation with a well equipped kitchen.
Peaceful location with lots of nearby walks.
- Tara (10/5): - Lovely cosy barn conversion, ideal for a couple or family of four. Lovely location, great host. Dog friendly. Nothing. It was all great.
- Andrew (8/5): Quite nice out the way - cozy log burner - secure parking ! - Nice quiet place with a cozy log burner ! Everything was ok - if I had to be critical no views / windows in bedrooms .
It is a conversion tho .
IDE stay again .
- Dawn (10/5): Lovely cottage. Dog Friendly, homely, good location. - Dog friendly. Amber was friendly & helpful with local information. Easy to find. Property was a good size. Guest shared garden was across the driveway & was secure & nice to sit in. Can walk across the fields to the village without going on the road. Village has cafe, village shop, Indian restaurant & pubs. An added bonus would have been, if the little patio in front of the cottage was fenced, would have been able to open the doors without putting the dogs on the lead. This would not stop me staying here again
- George (10/5): Gorgeous and we'll situated, good for families - Really gorgeous and self contained. Well kept and good facilities. The use of a garden was an unexpected bonus!
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Catherine (9/5): Lovely cottage, we enjoyed our stay. - The kitchen was very well equipped and everything was gleaming and new. Comfortable beds, good parking. An enclosed garden for the dogs to run around in (although the garden is not next to the cottage, it’s a 5” walk across the car parking gravel) with a table and BBQ for guest use. Amber, the host, was absolutely delightful. Thank you, Amber.
- Paula (8/5): -
- Jarmila (10/5): Krásné a velmi pohodlné ubytování a také velmi dobře vybavené. -
- Suzanne (6/5): We had a very nice mini break in Wassail Barn. Good location and nice little outside area to sit and enjoy a glass of wi - Good location

- Pieter (10/5): Relaxing, genuinely felt like we were abroad :-) - Location was great for local walks, cycling and road access to the region - Wedmore, Cheddar and beyond.
Dog friendly with outside seating area and a shared garden.
No issues with Wi-Fi
Shower was very good and sofa very comfortable.
Well equipped property including laundry.
Nice arrival bits and pieces and kitchen basics. There was nothing about the current set up that was not liked.
- Joanna (10/5): Would recommend this gorgeous cottage! - Very comfortable cottage with gorgeous garden. Great location
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Virginia (10/5): A lovely, comfortable, convenient stay - we will definitely come back! - An absolutely lovely property for me and my two teenage daughters to stay for a week while visiting relatives nearby. My bed was extraordinarily comfortable, and my eldest really appreciated the collection of puzzles in the cottage. The hosts were very conscientious. We will absolutely stay here again when in the area, and we told our local family about it for when other folks are visiting and want an alternative to the two B&Bs in town.
- Charlotte (10/5): Birthday weekend break - Everything was thought of,I didn't need to bring half my shopping, little touches like cling film, coffee, tea, washing up liquid, etc!great contact with amber the owner, so helpful! Nothing I couldn't fault anything 🤗👌
- Gary (10/5): A wonderful gem of a place - Accommodation was easy to find, and exactly as described. Warm, cosy, well appointed and very clean. It had everything we needed and then some. Communication from the Host was perfect, and was lovely to meet the four-legged tribe!
The location is rural, peaceful and quiet.
Bedroom, bed & bedding great. Shower-room wonderful. Lounge with log burner, tv & dvd player - great. Dining area & kitchen - great.
Car parking, outdoor garden space & area to sit outside…
The closest village Wedmore - lovely shops, & places to eat. Easy access to Wookey, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Clarks Village @ Street … Having to leave
- Magnus (10/5): Would stay another time. - Super easy check in/out, lovely cottage with everything you’d need for a holiday. Nice quiet countryside. Would visit again.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Colin (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (8/5): Clean, comfortable and a great base for exploring the area - It suited us well as a base for a weekend looking around the area. The hosts were really responsive and helpful. NA
- Jane (8/5): Very good - Comfortable property, really liked how it was decorated. Good kitchen equipment and great shower. Lovely cosy feel to the place No downstairs radiators so difficult to dry out walking boots. Kitchen space quite small but we did manage. We thought the property would be in the village itself.
- John (8/5): Good location. Clean and comfortable. -
- John (9/5): Superb - Superb location Lovely aesthetics, lovely fixtures and fittings.
- Sarah (10/5): Ideal - Wassail Barn - Very Happy - Perfect little place for what we wanted. Ideal location to visit Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Wells, Glastonbury etc. Had all that we needed for family of 4. Lovely shower/bath room. Comfy beds. Clean and tidy. We didn't cook there, but most bits that you would need.
Little Garden opposite if you wanted to sit out.
- Aimee (10/5): Fantastic property. - We were travelling as a small family, and were exceptionally happy with the property. It is absolutely beautiful and is tastefully decorated. Hosts have considered everything, and there was clean towels, tea/coffee/sugar and fresh milk in the fridge, plus a bottle of Prosecco which was a lovely gesture. The property was absolutely immaculate when we arrived, and there was no sign that it was a dog friendly property. On this occasion we chose to leave our dogs at home, however there would have been more than enough space, and a good sized garden had we chosen to bring them. (My children were over the moon that they had a visit from the Neighbour’s dog however). Hosts had left books, DVD’s and games for our use also, which was much appreciated. There is also access to a washer and dryer, plus cleaning materials should you need them. Rooms were very comfortable and bathroom is fantastic.
We will definitely be looking to stay again! Nothing at all!
- Bates (9/5): We chose wassail barn as it was so close to a few places we wanted to visit in Somerset. It’s lovely for a family of fou - Set in a beautiful village close to lots of interesting places Nothing! Everything we could have needed for a family getaway. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the bottom bunk bed mattress.
- Rogers (9/5): Perfect stay for a short notice booking. - Convenience to get to local attractions, parking close to property and off road, quiet location, hosts were nearby if we needed something. Having to leave!
- Richard (10/5): Lovely base for the coast & places to walk - Very clean & well equipped N/a
- Katy (10/5): Lovely house in a beautiful location. - Very pretty house in a great location with delightful hosts. All was excellent.
- Gedvilaite (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage very comfortable everything you need for comfortable stay
- Carla (10/5): Great place to stay, - It was just my daughter and me, it was a perfect base for our summer holiday, very close to cheddar, wells and Glastonbury, Weston-super-Mare and Bath also in driving distance, it was very clean and comfortable, had everything we needed in the kitchen, shower was good, we found the beds comfortable, we also enjoyed the garden, there were picnic tables but we took a picnic blanket out there and relaxed in the sunshine , own parking space out side property, had a little local store down the road for essentials and a few shops, cafe , bar, takeaway etc, plus bigger shops only and short drive away, we would definitely recommend We really didn't enjoy leaving,
- Kelly (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay felt very relaxed. - Loved our dog could join us on holiday.
The place was close to all the places we wanted to visit in the area.
We had our own parking spot which left safe to park over night and could leave and any point if needed to.
We liked how the kitchen had all the pans and trays so didn't need to pack any extra, could cook a family meal easily if wanted to. There was a communal freeze and washing machine if needed.
There was a cider farm shop not far away which was nice to enjoy in the evening by the log fire. The light fitting was a bit low on the top bunk and had many head bumps.
- Mandy (9/5): Lovely break away to relax and do some sightseeing - Location between Glastonbury and cheddar Gorge. Homely feel
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, well designed, lovely place, great walks nearby... The back door stuck as it had swelled up.
- Timea (9/5): Brilliant family time. - We have stayed at this property before. It is immaculate and cosy. The host clearly is very experienced. We had an amazing time again and hope to return in the future. Only the pillows were a bit uncomfortable.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely warm very clean comfortable place to stay. 7 mins from Cheddar gorge. Not far from beaches. Nothing
- Katie (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (8/5): A lovely clean and well positioned cottage. - Very clean. We stayed for Christmas and were delighted to be welcomed with chocolates, Prosecco and Christmas tree! Some of the doors were hard to open and close
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Lovely and cosy place, good facilities for a short break and quiet for a peaceful stay. Great base to visit Wells, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Bath.
- Sammie (10/5): Exceptional - Very cute, decor was beautiful. Bathroom was amazing.
Very sweet little stay!
- Josy (7/5): A lovely cottage hidden in the countryside - We only stay in it over night, as we were doI an event local to the cottage. The cottage was very clean and well decorated. It had every you would need. The double bed was quite hard but other wise everything was lovely
- Kim (9/5): Amber is a perfect host. Our accommodation was very comfortable, we will return. -
- Thomas (10/5): Lovely place and ideal for visiting other tourist attractions in the vicinity. - The cottage was super! Lovely and clean. The location was perfect for travelling around - just right for Wells, Wookey Hole, Cheddar & Glastonbury. 3.4 Miles from Roger Wilkins Cider farm was perfect! We didn't need the heating on but made the most of the log burner in the living room. A nice selection of DVD's for before the kids bedtime too, as well as a friendly dog next door. We didn't need to contact the owners as we had everything we needed. The only negative was the mattress in the master bedroom, I didn't find it too comfortable. That's just me being picky though.
- Anne (9/5): Absolutely wonderful, just what the doctor ordered! - Fabulous location and property was lovely.
Host was very prompt at replying to queries.
Furnished to a very high spec.
Good local places to eat. Mattress was uncomfortable.
- Corinne (9/5): Superb -
- Gillian (9/5): Superb - Lovely accommodation & everything was clean and well maintained.
The hostess, Amber, was very helpful.
Quiet location! The TV was very small, making it hard to read any script on the screen.
The mattress was OK but not top standard. A medium firm memory foam one would be an improvement.
- Kevin (10/5): FANTASTIC LOCATION FOR GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL. - This place is excellent. 10.3 miles from Glastonbury festival. Its quiet and in pleasant surroundings. NOTHING
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic property. Very clean and everything you need for a great break away. Location Fantastic. Will definitely book again next time I'm looking for a few days away.
- Claire (8/5): Very relaxed -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - Location was great. Lovely cottage
