Guest Reviews
- allan (3/5): We left half way through the week. - Location was fine, fairly central in the town. No parking other than a multi storey within walking distance. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Bedding was clean and bright. Room was small, floor was uneven with loose boards that creaked when stepped on. Shower door didn't close. Toilet seat was loose. Window blind partially worked. General appearance was shabby.
- Alicia (10/5): Great value for money, 10/10 stay - It was clean and in a good location, close to lots of shops and buses ect. It was all amazing I couldn’t fault it

- Gavin (10/5): -
- Neale (9/5): - Nice size room. Clean and close to where we needed to be
Everyone very friendly. Shower runs hot and cold and not any pressure. Was a little loud at 6am with the road sweeper.
- saqlain (1/5): - they don’t have rooms available and didn’t get my refund back from them
They’re stealing your money
- Gavin (10/5): Brilliant team - Great service and superb staff, I am a former SAS officer with an injury to my right leg and the staff have been great All good

- Michael (8/5): - Location was great. Near to the car park where you can park overnight and not too expensive. Room wasn't 100% perfect, but it was better than initially expected given the price compared to other locations in Poole.
- William (6/5): Good location in center of town. Made our trip to sand banks and Brown sea Island ( ferry short walk ) - Friendly Staff No parking but long stay car park near by. No usb charger port
Little difficult to locate property.
- Sharon (9/5): - Cheap, clean and fitted our needs. Directions.Needs to say inside a food place.
- Leighton (6/5): - Lovely staff Being in the town centre
- Angelika (6/5): - Zimmer sauber, Bett bequem, Lage gut.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Julia (4/5): - Accueil Le linge pas propre
- Zakir (9/5): -
- Jeremy (8/5): Very central, good price - This accommodation is above a friendly neighbourhood cafe right on the High Street. If that's your thing (it is ours), go for it!
- Suvi (5/5): Ok for one night but wouldn’t recommend for a solo traveler as didn’t feel very safe. - Excellent location on the high street. Despite the location it was quiet at night. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Ok for the price. The room didn’t feel secure. Although the room door did have a lock on the inside in addition to code, it wouldn’t have stopped someone getting in if they wanted to. Unsure how secure the key codes are for both the front door and the room door. The locks felt flimsy.
Could hear other guest coming in, the room location doesn’t feel safe as there is no door between the cafe downstairs and the guest room area.
I never saw anyone so couldn’t ask about getting more coffee for the room, there was only two tea bags but lots of milk and sugar.
I couldn’t figure out how to get hot water for the shower, assuming there was a fuse switch somewhere that I missed.
Floor feels very squishy underfoot and there are signs of a leak on the ceiling. You could really hear water in the pipes when other guests used their bathroom.
Rate was meant to include breakfast but there was no information about this anywhere.
No one was around when I left in the morning.

- Lindsay (10/5): Very comfortable, staff couldn’t have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble - Very clean and central position. Nothing
- Ben (8/5): -
- Ackeret (6/5): -
- Sally (7/5): - Nice woman helping out I told the owner, manager, Papa, I guess that the shower cord had a big leak and therefore it was very difficult to get the soap washed off. He said he had tried to fix it and will do his best to fix it. When I got back nothing had been done but promised it would be taken care of. During my entire stay nothing was done, although I told him that all it needed was either a washer or to replace it by cord with it's appropriate shower head.
I fear the next guess will suffer the same problem as I guess he does not want to fork out for that expense.
Not good enough!! Disappointing
- Towler (10/5): - Great location
Friendly staff
Great breakfast
- Diana (7/5): A bit chaotic but it suited me well, especially the central location. - Location was excellent - right in town centre but quiet TV didn’t work in room initially offered. After complaining, I was given another room. But someone who arrived later would have had to have room without TV.
Room was clean but not serviced during the three nights I was there.
Confusion over whether breakfast was included. I assumed it wasn’t but on second day I was asked why I hadn’t come for breakfast. But breakfast not served till 9.30 which too late for me, so I didn’t have it. Anyone who had booked breakfast might have been disappointed by this.
- Gloria (6/5): Pleasant stay. - Cleanliness Larger TV
I had paid for breakfast but there was none.
I've asked for a refund for this element several times and have had no response.
I found the method of opening the main building door tricky .
- Alec (9/5): Great stay, solid place! - Good destination for fishing. Communication a little lacking this time! Not told combination codes until calling them.
- Homer (5/5): - No alot Tv didn't work, flooring loose in the room, dirty paint work
Looked lovely in the photos.glad it was only one night .
- Chilufya (7/5): Sweet & comfortable stay - It was neat and tidy. Very pleasant staff, they just let me get on with my brief stay. They were also very accommodating and lovely people! :)
The number of towels and the bathroom/ shower items provided, were very much appreciated.
I loved the fan and the heater too.
The TV was okay, just a little far and the closet room for clothes was great. Was a little confusing to get to, albeit, the property is situated in a good place anyway, so once you’re there, everything is fine.
I also really wanted to have a breakfast there but no one replied or responded quick enough for me to do put an order in. Not a major issue though because I did just order online and Just Eat found the property fairly quickly so I didn’t starve to death (joking).
I’d say, air freshener for the toilet would’ve been nice.
- Roger (6/5): - Location. Friendly staff. Spring mattress was really uncomfortable.
- Federica (8/5): Perfect location - Good location, located in the city centre and near the harbour.
- David (8/5): Convenient, clean and good value. - Very near to parking.
Helpful guidance by phone to the accommodation. Maybe some downstairs self-service coffee/tea making facilities for very early starters. We needed to be out by 7.00 am to catch the Brittany ferry.
- Michaela (3/5): Okey, nothing special - None Noisy area and other guests were very loud on the corridor, in the rooms.
- kerri (8/5): Excellent value and lovely staff - Great location and fantastic value for money. Staff were lovely, room was spotless and lovely breakfast all for just £42 TV had poor reception- could only watch BBC1 and BBC2
- Ірина Луців (8/5): - The place was nice, the room was small but clean, had everything we need. The breakfast was delicious. Very friendly owner Nothing. For the money we paid, it was a surprisingly great option.
- James (5/5): - Location was , unusual, but right in Poole town centre. Easy and hassle free checking in. Room was tired, coffee cup stains on the bedside table, TV didn't work, dusty, scrapes and bashed walls, bathroom door was dusty and dirty, bathroom carpet was filthy. Only one bath towel between two adults.
- Dan (5/5): - Easy to find, not too far from station in the town centre. I checked in late using a pin code to enter the building and room. All was as expected. Room a little to hot for me bu clean and fair. There was no-one around and nothing to say when or where for breakfast. When I got up there was still no-one to be seen and no breakfast to be found. I waited until 07:00 but then had to leave for the ferry. So - no breakfast :(
I had to cancel my return stay a couple of days later because my ferry was cancelled and I was stranded in France. I reached out to the guest house through Booking.com to ask about a possible refund but no-one even answered my request. Not too happy about that, shouldn't just ignore a customer even if the answer is no.
- Mark (6/5): Did the job, probably will pick another option next time. - Good location, pretty room. Not a lot of information. You were required to pay for breakfast but when asked was told that breakfast was from 9.30am, too late for me. Radiator was on all the time in the room, manageable if you had the window open so some street noise but not really problematic.
- Lisa (6/5): -
- Kristy (10/5): Superb, tidy great host and spotless room - The room was tidy and had everything we needed. They offered us a breakfast that looked fab but as we had to be elsewhere sadly we had no time to eat. Paratha breakfast looked a winner and they weren’t stingy on toilet roll. Room was spotless. Nothing to be honest. It’s lively outside weekends so be aware of that when staying but I’m use to IOW noise in mornings and dorset since a child it’s to be expected. As near a casino and shops if you don’t like fun outside nightlife don’t stay. Otherwise I enjoyed the place I slept fine and it was extremely well done. I loved the light up desk I was able to sit at and the extra side room for coffee was great. I was close to everything I needed so superb
Only thing if you can’t do stairs there’s no lift it’s 3 flights up and may be difficult if disabled as I struggle up stairs. Theres a handrail and it’s carpeted . Room has kettle but no hair dryer in economy but for us this room was great and better than usual economy and nice bedding too pretty and I love faux velvet throws on beds makes it snuggly.and the hosts rarely there but you can call them. Personally I like the fact they gave us privacy.
Just to say the bed is a 4ft one in economy so for us 5”7 5”6 we slept on our side the bed may be small for two people. I’m just under 9 stone so it was ok
- Karine (10/5): - The breakfast was amazing The place was not easy to find...
- jonathan (10/5): -
- Tara (8/5): -
- Kimberley (1/5): Tv wasn’t working blondes were broken stained in places no one to great us when we arrived no one told what time breakfa - In the town centre Tv wasn’t working
Staines in places
Blinds were broken
Floor was uneven
Toilet door was hard to close each time
Refused to give my money back
- Tinashe (8/5): -
- Kennedy (2/5): I was promised breakfast but there nobody in the kitchen when l left site 08:30am - Nothing Smelly carpets
- Debbie (6/5): Comfortable but lacking a breakfast or any sign of staff - Very comfortable with everything needed for a short stay. Even though it is in a city centre location it was very quiet Its not clear that this is above a cafe. Breakfast was included in our fee but there were no staff there in the morning!! We were looking forward to our breakfast to go (as it was advertised) but left for our onward journey hungry. There is nothing in the room to tell you about breakfast e.g what is available or what time it's served. Very disappointing
- Jackie (10/5): Will be returning and would recommend to friends 🙂🙂 - We were thrilled with the lovely breakfast. It was hot and freshly served with professional and friendly staff 🙂🙂🎉🎉
- Maxwell (8/5): Fantasic Location and Value - The location was perfect. Only a short walk from the train station, pubs and restaurants. The room was clean and the breakfast was high quality. The mattress was not very comfortable.
- Jack (9/5): Great location, Cute facilites, Great customer service, take it easy up the stairs. - the owners were very nice and accommodating even coming to my rescue when I couldn't open the door after hours. Even when it was entirely my fault. I found the accommodation to be pleasant and very well located in the centre of town. Plenty of power points in the room, lots of natural light. Breakfast was lovely too. The staircase was a little tight for a full size suite case, also the sensor lights were to slow to turn on going up and down the stairs and the second floor landing was needless darkened by blacking out of a frosted window that was parallel to a room. Shower head was a little difficult to operate in a way I would have liked could only lower and raise it so far, water pressure was good to but this made my difficulties with operating the shower head worse.
- Mel (7/5): Room was fine but the other issues need to be sorted and also the owner needs to refurbished the property.Plus make it s - The room was comfortable and clean. The Tv didn’t work the restaurant facilities were extremely dated like something from the 1970s.Security issue as they had a break in while I was staying here.Owner does not live on site.Any problems can’t contact him.
- Elaine (10/5): Very good. - Very quite during the night I had a good night's sleep. Very much.
- H (10/5): -
- H (10/5): -
- Isabella (9/5): Good - Great location. Decent room. Good for price and really clean. Nothing
- phillips (8/5): -
- jill (4/5): The room was clean , warm and good value but I wasDisappointed due to lack of breakfast promised - Easy to access. Room clean It said there was breakfast included it was not , this is I am afraid misrepresentation . I have to eat b fast for health reasons and this is one of the reasons I booked . I ended up being late for my work appointment as I waited until 9 30 when I was told there would be b fast even though this was late for a week day but then had to find something on my way
- Steven (7/5): great location to get foof in the evening and very close to the ferry. - We left early to catch the ferry so didn'y see anyone or have breckfast.
- Sharon (1/5): - We only stayed 1 night because it was so dirty and uncomfortable, The host could not speak English and there was no one there to greet us. The 3 story building was not suitable for pensioners like us. There was no breakfast which was advertised, the steps to the room were sloping and no handrail. Terrible place, smelly and unclean.
- Olusola (10/5): Great Host - Host was kind and nice Everything was perfect
- Andrew (5/5): Overpriced and overrated. - It was clean There was no atmosphere. It took half an hour to find it. I had to ask an adjacent shopkeeper to help me to open the doors. I didn't realise it was on top of a shop. It was right next to Poole High St. It was more expensive than either of the Bournemouth East Cliff apartments I rented. It was overpriced and very basic. No staff were present. I was very disappointed..
- BLAIR (1/5): - Nothing All of it
- Solomon (8/5): -
- Sophie (10/5): Perfect - Easy and fun entrance, great value, quality facilities, perfect location
- Divendu (6/5): - Close to office Not premium.
Breakfast timing opens only at 9:15
- John (10/5): -
- Bowtell (10/5): - Friendly and very helpful
- Audrey (7/5): -
- Damian (6/5): Good for a night before an early ferry sailing - Close to the ferry terminal The room smelt damp
- vincent (7/5): - Central and affordable . Good breakfast
- Jez B (7/5): -
- Alec (7/5): Decent place to stay. - Decent location for my needs. Breakfast only served at 09:30am. It’s too late! Half the day is gone! Especially in winter time. It meant that I had to miss out in order to make the most of my trip.
- Mick Conlon (10/5): Second time here and this room was even better - Comfortable bed. Nice room. Good location Leaving
- Sue Jago (7/5): Ideal for a one night stay - We left early so didn't have breakfast. Room was very clean. Shower was unpredictable, kept going from very cold to very hot.
Outside room was very noisy until about 11.00.
Bed was soft with a few lumps
- Brien (9/5): Provided what I wanted in the middle of town, when I next visit I am happy to go there again. - Functional and clean , family business very friendly and helpful Nothing of note
- carol (8/5): Excellent value - Very central, so easy to find. Staff lovely, very helpful. All clean, large shower, excellent breakfast. TV in room did not have a picture. Waiting to be fixed. Owner said it is like a radio, but I had no idea what was on.
- Bunu (7/5): Friendly staff - Everything was good
- Mick Conlon (9/5): Great for value and location for the harbour. Bit noisy overnight - Easy to find easy check in convenient Noisy overnight. No fault of the property it's just the location in the middle of town.
- David J (8/5): Papa Guest - Poole, Dorset. - Lovely little onsuite room, perfect for us as we caught the BF ferry from the port which is 10min drive away. Well lit clean multistory carpark 100m down the road for £2.50 overnight - perfect.
We couldn't stay for breakfast as we left earlier 0700, breakfast around 0900 normally. Host left us croissant and banana, with tea coffee water in the room too.
Paid just over £50. Thankyou 🖐 Sorry we didn't meet you (host) but you looked after us very well by messages etc. Highly recommended if you want a comfy bed for a night. 😴 All good, nothing to dislike.
- Duncan (8/5): -
- Carmel (5/5): ok - very clean did not like that did not feel safe as 2 woman on own coming out key coded door with lots of people hanging around outside no body onsite until am did not feel safe
- Ray (8/5): - Location is good. Owners good reception Stairs are too narrow
- Susan (7/5): Good location - Good location in the center. comfy bed, nice bathroom We had trouble finding the guest house (we were looking for Papa's guest house but there is none, it's a room above a cafe). The entrance was through a coded door of the Papa's food hub (a cafe). Please tell people this on the site as it's very confusing when it's 10.30pm and you are trying to find your accommodation.
- Debbie (8/5): - Fab location. Parking very easy and cheap. Lovely breakfast and staff. Good value for money
