Guest Reviews
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Samantha (7/5): Great Location, just some missing pieces - The location is amazing, just a block away from Carlisle St, the Balaclava station, and the Balaclava end of Chapel St, all within minutes of walking, however, there is also some community housing nearby, so, occasional shouting matches occur in the evening between those residents.
The bed was very comfy, the only downside to the bed was the linen setup. There is nothing wrong with having a proper doona cover, over the doona.
Given the location, and the actual size of the property (this is a proper one bedroom apartment, not a sneaky studio), the price of the stay (26 days) was very good, especially for someone who wants to stay near the city, but not stay IN the city. The apartment has been cheaply furnished, which is fine if you're staying a night or two, and getting take-out. If you're staying longer, well, be prepared to purchase your own dishwashing liquid, sponges/clothes, oven tray, can opener (DO NOT USE THE ONE CURRENTLY AT THE PROPERTY. It is pointless and took over 10 minutes to open a can). As there are only 2 forks, 3 large spoons, and 4 plates and bowls, you will need to do the dishes often.
Instructions on how to use the oven would also be appreciated, as while ovens that require the timer to be going to actually heat up may be common elsewhere, if I wasn't with a European, we wouldn't have figured out the oven in the first place.
The couch feels very weak, and requires you to sit in very specific locations to ensure that you remain comfortable.
The aircon did not work at all, probably due to the remote needing charging or something like that, which would have been fine, if we didn't have those 35C+ days in a row.
Finally, the shower could do with a shower mat inside, as it is very slippery, and just be aware, it is an old apartment, which means the piping is touchy, running water when the shower is going leads to instant cold shower, the taps can leak, but just tighten them up a touch more and they're fine after that.
