Guest Reviews
- Jose (10/5): - Perfect location, bed was comfortable and we had plenty of room to relax
- Markus (4/5): Nice decorated but noisy and no guest attention - The apartment was nicely decorated, very clean and the furniture new. But... The apartment is extremely noisy, not only due to the public events next to the building but also due to heavy traffic day and night (motorbikes, heavy trucks...). The 10 (11) windows didn´t protect from the noise. No cooking pots in the kitchen (we chose the place to cook ourselves). We tried to get in contact with the management, several mails, no answer. No reception either. When we changed to another hotel after one horrible night we couldn´t give back the key and had to come back again just for this on our leaving day. So nice rooms, but no guest attention.
- Shanice (5/5): - Location Customer service.
I received really bad customer services responses via email
- santiago (10/5): Buena ubicación, barrio tranquilo - Apartamento bonito, cómodo, con lo necesario para una estancia agradable. Se escucha mucho ruido de los carros de la calle
- Benjamin Cecil (8/5): - I had to call for a code to get the key. It was not automatically emailed to me as promised. Hairs on the bed. If you are a light sleeper it was loud there at night. Fortunately, I am a heavy sleeper. Only one ac unit worked, but did keep the place cool enough. All in all an average stay
- Ted (9/5): -
- James (8/5): - Good location, safe and clean. Only negative is traffic and tavern across the street can be loud late night. Ear plugs recommend
- Verified traveler (2/5): Poor customer service and inadequate amenities - First - Location on hotels.com if completely off - Its not near the greenway !!!!! It is centrally located in the city.
If you like your stay to start off, being belittled by Standard management, given a room that someone else currently has the key too, waiting for them to figure out a new room, waiting for them to send an email with wifi details for the new room, and then NEVER over 4 days, 5 emails, 3 calls NEVER receiving a TV remote ( and its unable to be turned on without one) then this is your place. The place is not really stocked with what you may need, besides no remote, 4 hangers, no steamer/iron, place to put luggage if you don't want to leave on floor, found popcorn and balls of hair under couch ( while looking for remote) ,stairs ( elevator and key don't always work), Obviously not very clean as I am allergic to cats and it was clear someone had a cat prior to my stay.
If you would like to check in and get on with your trip, stay somewhere else.
It was nice to have my own toaster and fridge for bfast food.
I reached out directly to the standard / Ohio Shores prior to leaving this feedback and never received a response.
- John (2/5): DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! NO A/C! Tow from parking! - This place is horrible!
They have no staff on site, and don't answer their phones after 10pm. They don't answer hotels.com chat / email for as long as 36 hours. They promise a double bed and a twin, and do not provide the 2nd bed - one room had NO 2nd bad, the other had bunk beds (eww). The A/C does not turn on at all, which resulted in an employee quitting (yes, really). Finally, they will tow your car even if you're parked and scan the QR code after giving it 30+ citations. You might get out of the citations, but can't get out of the $160 towing fee (cash payment only, very on the up and up, right?)
Booked 2 rooms for the weekend, and they were very different sizes, beds, and accommodations. Both were absolute let downs.
Book elsewhere.
- Ralph (8/5): Everything was good except for the scary AC noise in the bedroom - Excellent location at reasonable price. It provides all the necessary items for a stay there, including washing machine+dryer and laundry detergent. Room was quite big and clean. There was constantly strange noise coming out of the AC in the bedroom. I asked on text and got no reply. The noice from the air conditioner was so loud that it coud scare you when you were sleeping. I had to move to the living room to sleep.
- Anonymous (8/5): Great location, good value, but be aware that it is a short-term rental, not a hotel. - Comfortable and very clean. Guests should be aware that this is not a hotel; it is a short-term apartment rental. There is no staff on the premises and no housekeeping while you are there. The full kitchen with some cooking utensils and dishes was appreciated. Free parking was very helpful, though guests should be aware that a smart phone is NECESSARY to get it validated. Building security was good as well. It was a ten-minute walk to the Convention Center, and I never felt unsafe, even at night. Overall it was a good experience, and I would book it again if in town. There were no instructions for the heating/cooling system, but I didn't really need it, so it wasn't a major problem. Given the lack of housekeeping services, some basic cleaning tools (e.g. broom and dustpan) would have been helpful. The loveseat in the sitting area was adequate, but a couple of armchairs would have been more comfortable.
- Marie (9/5): Superb - How easy was to get to venue I was there for
- Douglas (5/5): Passable - Clean Was booked for a room and the lock box didn't work ended up being empty. Got another room and then has issues with the Internet. Paid for early check in but the code did not work. So I checked in later.
- Jesika (10/5): - The apartment was cute and easy to get to. The address is listed wrong though and i was not able to get ahold of anyone to confirm this. Also couldnt get the wifi to connect with the provided password.
Comfy apartment with a great location though! Highly recommend Pins across the street and Freedom A La Cart just a short walk away!
- Christopher (1/5): Bad -
- Tenley (1/5): Bad -
- Lauren (6/5): Easy and convenient downtown spot - Great location downtown. Free validated parking next to the building was excellent! Clean open and airy space Loud and obvious noise from the bars across the street. Worse noise from tenants or other guests in the hall until 4 am. Bring a sound machine!
- Robert (10/5): Nice Apartment - Apartment was very nice. We had a wonderful stay. Only complaint is that the address on the site showed the address as 174 East Long St. and it is actually WEST Long St. This made a big difference in our ability to walk to the concert we were attending. We ended up having to uber both ways because it was too far to walk.
- Nate (5/5): Not impressed - Did not receive the initial email with check in instructions. Had to get direction from a tenant. Parking app did not work as expected. They wanted to charge me extra. Clocks were wrong making check out very rushed. Lukewarm water in the shower .
- Olivia (6/5): - I didn’t get the email or realize I was waiting on an email until almost 4pm and I called and it was sent to me. Before that, I had 2 different addresses. When I booked, Expedia showed an address closer to nationwide arena on long street. No such place existed. The address we ended up going to was not within walking distance to nationwide. Not like the one I thought I was booking was. Once checked in, we were in a hurry and had to put the shower curtain back together which is wobbly and could fall again at any moment. The ac only works in the bedroom.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean Stay, But Noisy and Some Frustrating Issues - The location of this hotel was convenient, but our stay had some frustrating aspects.
First, the address on Hotels.com is incorrect—it lists 174 W Long instead of the actual 174 E Long. While the correct address was buried in confirmation emails, we initially went to the wrong place.
On the positive side, there was plenty of parking, and figuring out how to get it comped was easy. However, finding the key was a bit tricky and could have been more clearly explained.
We expected some noise given the busy area, but it was extremely loud. We could hear into other rooms, the elevator opening and closing all night, and outside, where college students partied until 3 AM. To top it off, the area seems to be a hotspot for street racing, making it difficult to get any real rest.
The apartment itself was clean, but neither the bed nor the couch were comfortable. The bed was so soft that my husband and I just sank into the middle. A firmer mattress would make a huge difference.
Check-out time was standard, but 4 PM check-in feels unreasonably late compared to most hotels.
Overall, this could be a good stay for heavy sleepers or those looking to be in the heart of the action, but if you value peace and comfort, you may want to reconsider.
- Juan (10/5): Nice place to stay - It was a nice place to stay in, great spot in downtown definitely recommend
- Michael (10/5): Downtown Columbus Ohio - Great location for proximity to the conference center and downtown. Kind of noisy at night but this wasn't a surprise given its downtown location. The owner should provide a full set of utensils and cooking implements like a spatula, etc because I was not able to prepare any food in the apartment even though it has a stove, fridge etc. probably most annoying was the lack of communication re checking in, I finally found a phone number to call after I arrived to get that information but it was not in an obvious site and no one was around to clue me in. Despite promising to provide that information by noon on my day to check in, nothing was sent to me.
- Janjira (8/5): Overall, it was a nice stay. The apartment is new and fully equipped though it’d be nice to have a hand vacuum cleaner. - Location and facilities The fact that there is no staff standing by and cleaners don’t come in often
- Michael (3/5): The stay was terrible. - The parking was free. The walk to the convention center wasn’t too far. We booked a family suite with three beds. The room we received only had 1 bed. My daughter had to sleep on the couch. The bed had no support. You rolled to the middle as soon as you laid down. The neighborhood was very loud. We had loud partying until 3:30 in the morning.
- Robin (10/5): Modern Convenience - The place was clean and modern. Decor was cute. Bed was comfortable. Shower only got lukewarm, but it wasn't awful. Very short walk to the convention center. The only weird part was that you had to re-up your parking every 12 hours, but to get free parking, once I figured out the system, it was easy. I'd definitely stay here again.
- Scott (4/5): Disappointing - terrible communication
- Eric (1/5): It has potential but fell way short. - It was clean. It was secure. It has a lot of potential. It was loud. You can hear all of the traffic outside. You can hear conversations from the adjacent apartments. The bedroom doorknob fell off as soon as we touched it. The bed was broken. There was no support under the mattress. Some of the slats were broken. Don’t expand hot shower. It was like warm at best.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The Standard - Property was very nice and felt like an apartment. The kitchen was stocked with (limited) essentials. Parking was easy once you understood what was needed. Communication with the host company was difficult.
During the stay, the shower only got luke-warm and the bed was rather low and uncomfortable. Aside from that we liked the property.
- Athena (10/5): Fantastic and Convenient to so much! - Super cute space and VERY conveniently located it was perfect for me and a friend to visit Columbus for a couple days. The makeup towels were a super nice touch and it was very cutely decorated. Having a full oven and fridge was SO nice. The only time we ever had and issue was finding it 😅 it's at East Long St not West which was on the listing in Hotels.com
- Dana (10/5): Exceptional - It was secure, clean and comfortable. Modern and cozy. Easy to find.
- Collins (10/5): Exceptional - The view and the furniture layout The HVAC system
- Thomas (4/5): Disappointing -
- Trevor (8/5): - Good location, older building so wall and windows are thin. If you are expecting that then this place is great. Spacious with lots of windows. Only other downfall was the kitchen lacks a toaster and kettle
- Sarah (8/5): - This was a really cool place and a good choice for our needs. It was a fun area with so many great restaurants we didn't even get to try them all! It felt very safe and secure and was easy to get in and out of once we got our keys. It was very clean, bright, and spacious. The downsides - getting our keys was a bit difficult. I never got the email with the lockbox code when I was supposed to, so we had to call them, then the lockbox was jammed and we couldn't get the key. We called back again and they switched us to a different unit and we were finally inside. That being said, the email with the wifi code was then incorrect because we were in a different unit, so we had to call again for that. That being said EVERYONE we spoke to on the phone answered promptly and was extremely helpful and polite. Seems to me we just had a rash of bad luck all at once, and it wouldn't have been so bad were it not so cold outside at the time. The only other issues we had were the shower never got hot, and when it got its warmest it lasted less than 10 minutes, not fun when you're walking all over the city in December and really need a warm up. There was also a hole punched into the bedroom door, now that might have been because we had been switched to another unit and so they had not repaired it yet. Either way it was just a bit strange, but not an inconvenience. All in all it was a nice stay and I would come again!
- Gio (7/5): good - overall, it was a pretty decent day. Everything seemed to be newly furnished or remodeled. It is very close to the convention center, which we ended up just walking to it because of how close it was there’s a bar right across the street if you need to get drinks or just something a little to eat we stayed in 302 or 303 and I asked the guys directly next to us and it seems that there is some sort of sewage smell that leaks into the room and fills it, which makes it very hard to leave the room without leaving a window open I also asked a resident who is on the fourth floor and they didn’t have the problem, but it still doesn’t guarantee that your room might have a smelly sewer
- Miranda (8/5): Very good - The bed was comfortable, it was a cute place. The water for the shower didn’t get that hot
- Ángel (10/5): - Lo mejor nadie te molesta ni los anfitriones andan por la propiedad ni molestan
- Margaret (9/5): Great place to stay - Customer service was great. Before arrival we received a text message welcoming us to Columbus. When we faced a minor challenge accessing our apartment, we called the number and it was resolved in less than 7 mins.
The apartment was clean and secured. Enough blankets and towels. It is in a good location. 2 mins drive from convention center. Easy access to restaurants.
- Kierra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rene (8/5): We will stay again. - Clean and new accommodations. Lots of towels, blankets for bedroom and pull out sofa. Modern amenities for new construction. Bed was really comfortable and big enough for myself and toddler to sleep. The pull out sofa was comfortable and big enough for my husband as well. Booked this place due to need for a small kitchen but there were hardly any kitchen items. The basics, coffee cups, plates and utensils. But the tiniest pans not even big enough to cook an egg. Nothing to make anything in the oven. We travel with a child and didn’t plan to eat out all the time. It made cooking difficult. More items are needed for a kitchen. We did have an issue with parking. We received a violation but I emailed and it was handled by parking management. The instructions said to park “anywhere” in the lot which we did. It was late when we arrived and didn’t realized we parked in a spot for the building next to where we stayed. There were no signed posted and no instructions on where to park in the lot. Again, the parking authority waived the violation. Parking instructions need to be more specific regarding the area in the lot where you can park.
- Megan (10/5): Elegant & charming - It was an absolutely beautiful space! There was no physical staff.
- Robert (7/5): Good - It's quiet and convenient. The room was large, with a lounge area separate from the bedroom. Downtown is not a really happening area but it's an easy jumping off point. There is no real check in experience to speak of: There's no front desk, and the phone number doesn't go directly to someone involved in the property without clicking through menus.
- Demoe (9/5): Superb - Perfect size for us, loved the living room We were not contacted back after mentioning the ticket we got for the free parking they said we had with the building. Wish the kitchen had bigger pots and pans
- Sietse (8/5): Very good - Clean and location Shirt bed. Too small if 2 people. Airco leaking
