Guest Reviews
- Sandy (10/5): Great location, spotless clean, spacious - Very spacious, great location and wonderful welcome from Mirko, who was so helpful. I asked for more blankets and immediately brought them. Very helpful highly recommend.
- Renee (8/5): Roomy bedrooms and great to have a fridge and washing machine - The washing machine There’s no television and the recycling information was not written in English
- Sinead (9/5): Great Host! Spotless Apartment - Casa Lamar – Great Spotless Apartment in the Heart of Salerno
We loved our stay at Casa Lamar. The apartment was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable. Having a lift was a bonus. Our host was incredibly nice and informative, offering great recommendations on where to eat, drink, and explore.
Breakfast at Ornnero around the corner was included — a coffee/tea or granita plus a croissant — all very tasty, and the staff there were welcoming. A few minor drawbacks:
• Air conditioning would be a great addition, especially in warmer months.
• Two sets of keys would be very convenient.
• A place to store luggage after checkout would be helpful, as our flight wasn’t until 21:30.
Overall, a wonderful stay and we’d happily return in the cooler weather!

- Sara (10/5): Loved it! Would recommend, especially if the weather isn’t too hot - Loved the location, perfect base for visiting the Amalfi coast! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The host was very informative and helpful throughout our stay The water temperature in the shower was inconsistent. And this one is on me because I forgot to check but there is no AC. We kept the shutters closed while we were gone all day and it cooled off nicely at night so it wasn’t a big issue.
- Amanda (8/5): Excellent, loved the terrace and the location was perfect! - Everything was great, and Mirko was very helpful and nice! For cooking it would be great to have better cutting knives but other than that the kitchen was well equipped.
- Davidharris96 (10/5): Excellent host, nearby facilities wonderful, and loved the breakfast cafe! - Mirko was an outstanding host, he made check-in and check-out very simple and met us bang on the time we arranged to meet!
The apartment is very clean & tidy and has a great balcony. The nearby facilities are great also, we loved the cafe with the free breakfast!
Close walking distance to the train station for easy public transport. Would definitely recommend to those who are using the area as a base to explore the Amalfi coast/Naples.
Walking distance to both ferry terminals and also restaurants in Salerno. No complaints :)
- Varsaci (8/5): Nice and tidy, good host - Cleans and tidy, breakfast. Great info from host. No lounge area and can get noisy at times.
Shower was not working properly and leaked.
- Clare (9/5): Superb -
- Mariano (10/5): Exceptional - Good value for the money. Mirko was a great host and did everything he could to make us feel at home.
Breakfast was good in a nearby bar. Nitpicking: The main bed may be a bit hard for some people. A microwave would be a good addition to the kitchen
- Wojtek (10/5): Very good experince and strong recommendation holiday travellers. - Mirko, the host was very helpful, flexible and nice. Provided lots of practical information and recommendations: restaurants, traveling, groceries, logistics etc. Italian breakfast was nice and good enough although so different from what we are used to in our country. Apartmet was clean, well fitted. Coffee available in the morning from own machine was great thing.
- Alison (10/5): Great apartment and superb host - The host, Mirko, went over and above, any expectations or requirements to make our stay as perfect as possible. He was very communicative and provided a wealth of local information and tips on where to go and how to get places, without us even asking. The property is pristine and Mirko and Manuela were so kind in allowing us to check in, and being so welcoming, when arriving much later than advised after our plane was overbooked and we had to get new flights just before take-off. The vouchers for breakfast at a great, local café (Oro Nero) were a fantastic touch to give a hotel-like experience. The balcony was wonderful for outdoor eating also. The area and portered building were great - short walk to the beach via Main Street of shops. A short but amazing trip. Lack of air-con was the only thing missing, but was reflected in the price and it is clear before booking so not a disappointment if it is your choice at booking. Free-standing fans are provided and French doors to balcony help.
- Adele (9/5): Superb - The facilities were really good and allowed us to cook dinner twice during our stay.
The owner kindly allowed us to check in early twice which was a huge help.
The location is perfect, close to a substantial supermarket and not too far from two train stations.
Salerno was a great base and our only regret is that we didn't stay here longer.
The washing machine was a bonus and the owner in general was so helpful with all of his advice. I would definitely go back and stay here.
- Nancy (10/5): A fabulous week in Salerno. - The apartment was clean, quiet and spacious. It had everything we needed in a neighbourhood of Salerno that made us feel like locals. Nothing
- Christian (10/5): Just great. - Invaluable: the friendliness of Mirko, our host! Such a welcoming attitude makes you have a great start in the new place. He gave us tons of advice adjusted to our family’s needs - we have tried a couple of them, and they were always great! Very clean, nicely entertained place. We had all we needed. Breakfast was in a small, local café, just around the corner. A very cool way for us to start into the day.
- Chris (10/5): A great place to stay to see the sights of the Amalfi Coast with a great host. - The villa was in a great location, walking distance to the supermarket, shops, local train station and the waterfront. It was very clean and comfortable with two big bedrooms and a good kitchen with a washing machine. Our host Mirko was a lovely guy, very friendly and helpful, also a great tour guide. A nice touch was vouchers for coffee and pastry breakfast at the cafe around the corner for each morning of our stay. There is no sitting/lounge room but then we were out every day sightseeing and came back exhausted and pretty much fell into bed! But it would have been nice to have somewhere comfy to sit. The kitchen and bathroom look new but the shower is a bit on the small side if you are a bigger person but otherwise very comfortable. There is no iron or ironing board if needed but then again we didn't ask so one may have been provided. Not sure.
- Ann (10/5): Excellent value , cleanliness and location - Breakfast was supplied at a lovely bar/cafe only 100 yards from property
- Angela (9/5): Beautiful area. Loved it. - spotless spacious apartment. kind helpful host.
