Guest Reviews
- Nadja (8/5): Very good - Very lovely and unique place and very nice hosts!
- Lionel (7/5): We managed but if we had known the state of the facilities we would have booked other accommodation. - We stayed at HarunCamp for 2 nights and drove in from Plav.
Our host was friendly and we managed well communicating with him though we had limited language in common. A few words of Montenegran, German, English and Italian all mixed together seemed to do the trick. He is generous and obliging.
The place is very new, small and cute. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The small balcony in front of the larger building is a lovely spot to look out on the surrounding hills.
The water from the water heater is hot. The bathroom is small though and would benefit from a few hooks to hang clothes and towels on to keep them dry.
HarunCamp is in a beautiful place and well situated for walkers doing the Peaks of the Balkans trek who need a bed and simple meals prepared for them which include home cooked specialties and home produced cheese, honey and so on. The location shown in Booking.com for Google maps is NOT correct. Drive past that spot for about 700 metres until you see a sign for HarunCamp painted in white on a wooden backing.
For anyone planning to access it by car, the road in is very rough and slow going so not ideal. The listing does specify no parking is available but we had no trouble parking in the field just below the fence around the huts. However, the gravel on the steep drive down from the main road caused the wheels to spin on the way back up the hill so after the first time we left the car parked up by the main road and walked down instead.
We sent questions regarding accessibility for a car before booking but received no reply. Perhaps the failing internet access accounted for the failure of that communication.
At this stage Haruncamp is not adequately equipped if you want to cook and cater for yourself.
Fridge space is very limited – if more than one set of guests wanted to use it there would not be enough space tucked in the bottom of the drinks fridge.
There is one frying pan and a spatula which can be used one of the gas rings. No other pot for cooking. There is nothing adequate for boiling water for a cup of tea, just a tiny pot for making small cups of coffee. We carry our own small electric “jug” so we managed.
Throughout the time we were there there was no internet at all and no mobile coverage.
The kitchen and WiFi described in the listing were our reason for choosing HarunCamp so that was disappointing.
There was also no washing up detergent so we used our own soap and there was no toilet brush.
We had an afternoon storm which flooded the entrance to the property but it was shallow and you could walk through it easily enough. That same gully though had several bags of rubbish, empty drink cans etc, in it when we arrived so no doubt much of that ended up in the stream below. Not impressed! Whether it was from HarunCamp or neighbours I do not know.
- Berenice (8/5): Very good - Our host made every effort to make us feel welcome. Next to our cute cabin there was a very comfortable garden swing - a great place to chill out.
