Guest Reviews
- Malcolm (9/5): Was a good relaxing stay ideal location would recommend - Breakfast was really nice and lots of options to choose from service was first class
- Daniel (2/5): Too noisy until around 4am - Location good and usually does what is says on the tin A ridiculous amount of noise of doors slamming, people shouting, people stomping around the hotel going on until around 4am.
Used the hotel before many times and I understand it's one of the more affordable places to go but staff should have stepped in last night and told other guests to keep it down. Well I assume it was guests and not staff making so much noise. Notices around the hotel obviously aren't enough, staff on duty should also enforce.
Room 205 very noisy and right next to a door to the staircase which slams all night.
Will try to ask for quieter room if I return but that was far too much and wouldn't want to go through that again!

- Peter (1/5): -
- Roy (7/5): -
- Charles (9/5): - Bf and the views Nothing
- Andy (5/5): Five out of Ten - Local village called Bare Kettle was dirty inside, cracked cup for tea coffee, staff were sometimes hard to find at reception, they preferred you to park on main street as no cameras to rear of property where they had aparling area.
- Victoria (7/5): We enjoyed our stay , it wasn’t expensive so we didn’t have very high expectations. All staff friendly and hard working - The view from room was lovely Very tired and in need of updating
- Siva Raman (5/5): - Nothing just basic but the view is ok Carpets are very dirty and old building. Understaffed at breakfast
- christine (9/5): - The bus stops are right outside the hotel, so getting to lancaster and Kendle was easy. We went during the heatwave and even though the windows were open it was extremely hot, could of done with a fan or some sort of cooling system.
- Anthony (8/5): -
- furnace (7/5): -
- David (7/5): -
- Arletta (2/5): I do not recommend!!! - Location with a beautiful view and friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is very outdated, dingy, and dirty. It's not even up to the standard for a one-star hotel. Cracked walls, leaky windows, scuffed baseboards, stained carpeting etc. The bathrooms looks like in abandoned house. There are also cobwebs, dust, dog hair on the sheets, and so on. Ohhhh...and that awful smell of mould in the room. We had to sleep with the window open even though it was cold because the intense stench was unbearable :( The hotel needs a complete renovation and greater attention to cleanliness. I do not recommend!!!
- SUSAN (8/5): Clean, comfortable and good value for money. - The view from the front of the hotel was beautiful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed . It was good value for money. The hotel staff we met were friendly and cheerful. It was easy to park on the road outside the hotel. Some of the decor and furnishings had seen better days.
- Hiteshkumar (1/5): - Property very bad . Too much noise and shower not working. Toilet flush not working properly. Water noise Location is good
- Piotr (1/5): First and last time - Very bad condition Good localisation
- Jackie (8/5): -
- Mervyn (5/5): Would not stay there again. - Breakfast was adequate. Basic, very dated, crying a for a refresh. Bed was hard, shower not very clean, rooms are small, very noisy guests above.
- McHugh7 (3/5): -
- Cullen (10/5): - I liked it how had open windows welcome staff I didn't like how there was no room service phone .
Blood on bed .
Cleaners walking in the room .. knock before coming in
- partridge (1/5): Not very good the beds where not very comfortable - Not a lot Very run down looks like jobs not finished
The toilet didn’t wort properly
The toilet made a banging noise when flushed The water didn’t go down very well in the sink
and shower
- conley (4/5): - The place was flithy, bathroom filthy Nothing
- John (7/5): A pleasant stay for a couple of days. Hotel provided basic clean, comfortable amenities - Location close to where I needed be for visiting. No complaints
- Judith (7/5): Comfortable accommodation in good location. - Friendly reception. Good location. Quiet. Stair carpets neede a good hoovering
- Alison (8/5): Lovely staff clean and comfortable - Breakfast was good. The coffee wasn’t the best. There was only one person on duty covering the reception and the dining area, however he was so approachable and pleasant. We will definitely recommend. As a health and safety issue it requires extra staff as there seems to be only one member to check us in and to run the bar in the evening. Only one staff member in the morning too.
- paul (5/5): Very good value and sea view. Room adequate size but a little tight with a dog. - Location parking in the street good breakfast included so good value. Dog friendly and staff very nice Pillows need to be bigger. Shampoo wall dispenser needed as tiny bottles no good
- Sara (10/5): Made magic Morecambe more magical - Staff were friendly. Location perfect for morecambe and local areas. Not much. Didn't wanna leave.
- David (7/5): -
- Saunders (10/5): Overall we had an amazing stay - The hotel was very clean the staff were lovely and the room was amazing The shower wasn’t the best the pressure was very low
- Antony (7/5): Relaxing holiday, friendly staff. - Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was directly across from the beach. The hotel was on the edge of town but it was an easy walk along the seafront to reach the centre. There is a car park at the rear of the hotel but also free unlimited parking on the main road outside the front of the hotel. Hotel decor was a bit dated. Lift is very small only fitting 2 people of one with luggage. I booked the hotel as Booking .com said there was a restaurant if I wanted to eat at the hotel but when we arrived and mentioned this we were informed that they did not have a chef so no evening meals were available.
- lee (8/5): -
- Middleton (8/5): - The hotel was convenient for all our needs, bus stop across the road and the price was right.
- GaryP18 (10/5): Brilliant hotel - Parking for free on the front
Bar
Room
Staff How hot the room was (very minor issue)
- graham jenkins (3/5): - Not a lot I was not impressed with anything, it was tired and generally of poor quality.
- Jdg (6/5): Good location, needs work done - The staff are very friendly and the reception area, lounge and breakfast area are very nice.
The location of the hotel is right opposite the beach and we had a lovely view. The window in the sea view room was half misted over so only had half a sea view, there was a damp mark on the ceiling near the window, the breakfast wasn't the best.
- Rosalie (1/5): Basic - Nothing was appealing about this Hotel. We refused to stay at this Hotel. It was nothing like what was advertised in Photos! The hotel looked rundown and the rooms were very basic.
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Micha Magellan (7/5): Nichts außergewöhnliches - Zum Glück gibt's unten eine Bar mit gezapften Bier.
Hunde sind willkommen im Hotel. Es ist typisch britisch etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Jenny (6/5): Worth it for the price but hotel is very dated - The venue is cheap and the bathroom is very clean. WiFi worked perfectly too. Bedding was comfortable, and I had plenty of towels. Checking in was simple and the staff were friendly and helpful. The place is very dated and the carpet in my room has definitely seen better days. There was no hairdryer and the wardrobe was very shoddy and looked like it would collapse. Unfortunately I didn't have a great night's sleep as the walls are paper thin so you hear everything around you plus the housekeeping team are quite noisy throughout the morning (banging around and having loud conversations). I paid for a sea view but had the reception glass roof obstructing most of the view (and it needs a good clean).
- Bolton (6/5): - The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very nice. The hotel was a little dated and needed some TLC. We had a water leak one night coming through the ceiling via the light fitting. Also there was a dreadful wet dog and fusty smell on the 3rd floor landing. Apart from that it was ok for a short stay.
- Nokutula (10/5): Comfortable nice and warm place to sleep and stay. - Pleasant and extra friendly staff Nothing
- Cheryl (5/5): Ok hotel for the price but cheap b&b rather than nice hotel - Location was good and accessible
Room was spacious and bed was very comfy
Ok for the price for a cheap family night away. Greeted by an unfriendly lady who smelled badly of smoke as she had been smoking as we arrived. Anything we asked seemed an inconvenience. Very noisy hotel. Lots of people talking, doors slamming, creaking rooms/floorboards and beds meaning very limited sleep.
- Patrice (8/5): -
- Hill (6/5): -
- Vijay (7/5): -
- Daniel (7/5): - Good facilities for one lesser mobile guest - get the car right up to the door mainly! Helpful and caring staff, for our needs :) Good parking on the road, breakfast was good Breakfast was good, but same price for a cooked breakfast or for cereal. Bar had a basic offering of drinks. Elevator was not 21st century (again we had a lesser mobile family member).
- Michael (10/5): - The views looking over the bay each morning were fantastic. Staff were very friendly just a walk over the road and on to the beach brilliant. Nothing to complain about.
- Euan (5/5): -
- Alison (8/5): - The room was clean and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was quite tired looking in the main areas and old fashioned
- graham (8/5): -
- Jeansgina (8/5): Relaxing stat - The staff were friendly Probably could do with a slight update but it was great value for money and still nice
- Anna (10/5): - Bardzo miły personel i widok super
- Irene (2/5): Very disappointed. Should have stayed 2 nights but left after 1 couldn't stand it anymore - Not a lot. The bed was comfy and the view from the room was okay. You had to make sure the shower door was open as when you opened the bathroom door, it banged against the shower. Bathroom was very small. Room looked nothing like advert. Needs full makeover or pulling down.
- Mark (1/5): - The room was dirty marks up the walls and needs wor Beds was clean but needs more room service
- CHRIS (8/5): Comfortable stay friendly stuff but needs updating - Staff are very helpful. Rooms are comfortable The bar area could be updated with new seating and more for kids to do like a pool table
- Pam (8/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): - How friendly the staff were
- Norcott-mchugh (10/5): Excellent - Location was brilliant lovely room lovely staff nicky and kieran breakfast was excellent good value for money
- Allen (5/5): -
- daniel (8/5): - Good little break away clean and tidy , friendly staff bar on site which is good tidy and clean Unfortunately the mattresses wasn't the best to sleep on but certainly manageable
- Ricky & Kelly (9/5): Great gem of a hotel in Great location - Great Staff very friendly and helpful. The bar was a great little place to sit and enjoy the sunny weather. Great little sun trap on the front garden area. Will be returning regularly
- sheila (7/5): -
- Karen (8/5): I found the stay pleasant and good but found the breakfast a bit lacking. But bacon great. - It was close to the sea
- Collins (5/5): -
- John (9/5): - Spotlessly clean and friendly staff. Strange layout re kettle etc in room.
- Conor (8/5): -
- Margaret (6/5): Strathmore Hotel - Superb location, incredible views, friendly staff Hotel was shabby, has seen better days
- Lesley (10/5): - So easy to find and park, lovely welcome, room was clean large and bed so comfy, awesome stay
- Ian (5/5): Served it's purpose. - Location was good. It was quiet and felt safe. No parking restrictions on streets around the hotel. Designated parking was very limited and in an unsavoury area . We were advised by the receptionist that it should probably be avoided. Walls in the room had splatters of an unidentified substance! Room seemed bare and not very welcoming. However the bedding and bathroom were clean. It sufficed for our overnight stay. The whole hotel is in need of refurbishment.
Breakfast was adequate, but ingredients of poor quality. We waited a while to be seated for breakfast. It seemed the gentleman that checked us in was doing this fetching teas and coffees too. He was in ordinary clothes, so we had no idea that he was a member of staff and this became a little awkward. Maybe just a badge on his shirt would help as we thought he was a resident. Also, smarter clothes instead of trousers and t shirt would be nice.
- Jody (10/5): -
- MARK (7/5): Great value for money - Good value for money Parking is difficult at busy times
- Lady Lola-Sapphire (5/5): Ok but.... - No towels in room
Was given part used milk jug from other table
No tea spoons
Room was too hot
Air fresheners gave off a sickly sweet smell
- Stephen (8/5): - Prime location
