Guest Reviews
- Toscano (5/5): Great location and responsive hosts, but the space and sleeping arrangements were not suitable for five people. - The location was great and close to many attractions. The owners were kind and responded quickly. The queen mattresses were comfortable. The room was very small despite being advertised as suitable for five adults. The “twin bed” was extremely uncomfortable, with little to no cushioning—more like sleeping on the floor. Unfortunately, I ended up sleeping on that bed.
- PEIHUA (7/5): -
- Audrey (9/5): - Great space, all facilities were great and 10 mins from Asakusa station Room 301 was up 2 flights of stairs
- Steven (8/5): Great stay - Space, location and amenities weee all great. Only downside was noise from apartment above on our first night, constant stomping of feet kept us awake most of the night.
- Maricel (8/5): - Beds were comfortable. Bedroom was large. Cooking and washing machine facilities were handy. Located a bit further than expected from the station.
- Braden (8/5): - Good location, easy check in and out, nice mini fridge and shower. There was a long climb to our room and no elevator. The room seemed pricey.
- Peter (9/5): - Great place to stay.
Very good communication.
10minute walk to station
Lovely bakery around the corner
- Nicole (9/5): Lovely apartment we would book again! - Great location as there are fewer tourists staying in this area. A 16 min walk from asakusa station. Clean facility, the washer and drying rack is a plus. Worked well for a couple, it may be tight for 4 adults as there are 2 double beds pushed together. For parents and children it would work. We would book it again! 4th floor with no elevator was one downside when arriving and leaving with luggage, but we knew that when we booked!

- Victor (9/5): Great location, great value.. lovely stay! - The apartment is cute, clean and located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood that you wouldn’t think you’re in busy Tokyo …
We appreciated the extra room and the 3 beds available….
We used the washing machine as well and this was very convenient
The little kitchen helped us to prepare basic stuff like a coffee and keep food in the fridge
You have a 7/11 convenience store which is opened 24/7 about 300 metres away
Apartment is on the the ground floor which makes it easy if you travel with big bags
Plenty of food options around
Apartment was neat and clean Yes, you need to consider you would have to walk 16 minutes to reach the apartment from Asakusa metro/train station.
We didn’t mind because the neighborhood was beautiful, and it’s such a lovely walk. It was 3 adults and a child and we didn’t mind. However, do consider this if you’re traveling with someone older who might struggle to walk long distances
I would go back there just because is conveniently located and I love Asakusa as well
We visited the temples at night and it was beautiful

- Esther (8/5): Overall it's a pleasant stay at this place. - The location is very convenient, just a 12-minute walk from Asakusa Station, with several convenience stores along the way if you need to grab something to eat. The hotel does not have an elevator, so carrying luggage can be challenging, especially if you’re staying on the 3rd or 4th floor.
- Carles Pascual (5/5): - For that price I expected a better apartment, it was far away from every metro /train station, it was a 4th floor without elevator and when we arrived it was not very clean. We called the owner and they move fast to try to solve that. It was far away from stations and there's no a lot of space because of the beds... It was not horrible but not good at all.
- Lim (9/5): -
- Souflle (9/5): Great - Great location, very nice small and clean apartment, was a bit of a squeeze for the 5 of us, but we managed no problem, very nice and quiet at night The steps were a little steep especially coming with big luggages
- Evan (9/5): -
- Xin Xiu (10/5): It was a very pleasant stay. - It’s clean and we have all the facilities we need. It’s abit far from the train station but it’s fine.
- Kae Fen (8/5): - Far from station Far from city
- Sue (8/5): Great location extremely clean quite comfortable and great value for money! - Great location and very clean … lots of extras like umbrellas to use and toiletries Room was warm even in November (!!) and space was limited but we knew that before we went… we had 4 large cases which took up most of the floor space but again we kinda knew that!
- Laurent (10/5): À recommander, endroit très sympathique - Tout. C’était parfait
- Takeru (8/5): - Lage war OK. kann besser sein.
Preis ist gut. 4. Etage ohne Aufzug.
teils verschimmelt.
Recht klein für 4 Personen. 2 Wäre Perfekt.
- Arlene (10/5): - The place was very spacious and clean.
- Wagemans Alvarado (10/5): -
- Aron (9/5): it was very amazing and convenient - the accommodation had all the essentials needed for a week's worth of stay - it was also in a very convenient location with many convenience stores around and close to the sensoji temple parties more than 4 may struggle to fit many luggage - one of the beds had a hard surface, may not be ideal
- Juan Ignacio (6/5): -
- Margo (10/5): -
- Julian (8/5): - La tranquilidad del barrio Algo distante del metro
- Hong (10/5): Spacious room in traditional residential area - Located in a residential neighborhood. Very quiet. Many restaurants nearby and walking distance to the river. Microwave was easy to use. The hotel also provided umbrellas, they came in handy on rainy days. There was only one spoon for two of us.
- Scott (8/5): A peaceful and convenient stay in Asakusa with everything we needed. - The accomodation was in a quiet, peaceful area close to many convenience stores. We were also happy we chose to stay in Asakusa, rather than other areas of Tokyo. It was around 2km to walk to Asakusa station, however we enjoyed the exercise everyday. It had all the facilities we needed, including microwave and kitchen utensils. The bathroom was more than adequate, the toilet was fantastic (although this seems to be standard in Japan!). The balcony also had a great view of the Tokyo Skytree tower. The stairs, especially carrying suitcases. Nevertheless, we already knew this from other reviews and were prepared.

- Jessica (6/5): Was good until it wasn’t - The place in general was great. I had an issue with my suitcase and I asked the staff two days before I checked out if they could help me with the broken one. In their own words they said “yes we can, but there is a fee”. I had figured there would be a fee and had no problem with paying. I assumed it would be through booking.com (this is where I was in the wrong for assuming) so at checkout I said “ok, thank you” as in “ok i understand that there is a fee, thank you for helping me with this”. Next thing i know my phone is blowing up with messages from staff claiming I was doing something illegal and luggage dumping. That they never agreed to it….they kept spamming and spamming my phone with messages, which I feel is kinda unprofessional. I had to cancel my morning vacation plans to sort this out which was not cool but eventually it got figured out. It was a language barrier issue but it didn’t feel good to be called a criminal basically when I did nothing wrong and made sure I inquired about it well in advance with staff. If your trip goes perfectly, then this will be a great place for you but if something goes wrong well…

- Pedro Cardoso (4/5): - Localização fica a 1km ( 12 minutos do metro) e a 4 minutos Bus station. As fotografias fazem parecer maior o apartamento.
- Simsek (10/5): -
- Michał (10/5): - Bardzo przyjemny apartament - doskonale urządzony i przestronny. W środku czysto i przyjemnie.
- Hui Yin (6/5): - The location is a bit of a walk from the station, we got used to it. The accommodation itself was clean, which we appreciated. The bed, however, was quite hard and uncomfortable.
What was truly appalling, though, was the response from the staff. At first, we assumed it might be due to a language barrier, automatic translation, or even an AI bot. But after several interactions, the replies came across as quite rude — surprisingly so, especially considering the usual high standards of hospitality in Japan.
We even contacted Booking.com about this, and their representative also found the responses unusual and encouraged us to file a complaint.
Overall, the stay was acceptable — as long as you don’t need to contact the staff
- Zuzana (8/5): Very good - The location was really good for our needs - close to Tokyo Skytree, Senso-ji Shrine, Kappabashi Street... Several konbinis around.
Ironing equipment, washing machine on the balcony adjacent to the room. Lack of kitchen utensils. 4 beds squeezed one to another, not very spacious room in general. At the table - 2 standard chairs and 2 foldable ones.
The balcony (with a washing machine) is probably available for the whole house, need to lock the door leading to it.
- Johana (10/5): Amazing stay a bit far from the station have to walk 15 min but still a great stay - Everything! Maybe a bit small for a large group since luggage’s barely fit !
- Andrei (7/5): Reasonably priced option near tourist areas with various transport options. - Reasonably priced option 15 minutes walk from Asakusa and tourist areas, with various transport options.
Not far from the SkyTree! Bedroom was spacious with a separate air conditioner, and room had a washing machine and bathroom with drying function.
Also had a fridge and couch, with a dining table and plenty of chairs. WiFi was also very useful! Entry is a tight 90 degree turn and a bit hard to get into, stairs up to the apartment were wide but pretty steep so carrying heavy luggage up can be a challenge.
Cleanliness could have been a bit better in places. Beds creaked quite loudly and the power points built into the bedhead didn't work. The wind chime on the balcony next door drove me a little crazy at night. Air conditioner in the main room was dripping on the couch.
Code lock on front door would have been easier than keeping track of a key; sounds like it gets lost sometimes.
- Sara (6/5): A pleasant stay in a quiet area of Asakusa - The location is in an extremely quiet area of Asakusa, yet very convenient for both bus and metro connections (Asakusa and Ginza lines). It’s just a 10-minute walk to Senso-ji Temple and the livelier part of the neighborhood, full of restaurants and local spots. From the balcony, there’s a beautiful view of the Sky Tree Tower. It’s also close to Sumida Park, perfect for a scenic riverside walk. The room was very small, with extremely limited space for four people. The kitchen equipment was quite minimal — only a few cups, plates, and glasses were provided. We had to ask for teaspoons, which the staff kindly and promptly brought us. However, it was quite inconvenient to have to wash the dishes in the bathroom sink.
- Pierluigi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anohr (9/5): Superb - great price for a great stay.. the location is good as well
- Chia (8/5): Good choice to repeat. - Good room space. Access amenities. Good breakfast. Bed was too hard
- Nur (9/5): Value for money, clean and airy. - We love how big and clean the room was. It was bright and airy, and the balcony was a nice touch especially during the mornings to sip coffee and enjoy the morning air and evenings with hot matcha and thr bright glittering Tokyo Skytree view. It was very safe and secured and we felt good staying there. Everything was exactly as the photos, checking in and out was a breeze and easy. The stairs. We didn't do proper research and ended up being surprised that they didn't have a lift/elevator. Everything else was great!
- Merlita (8/5): Very good - Its cute There is not elevator, so we had to carry 3 floors our back packs.
- Kuo (8/5): Very good - The real room arrangement is a little different from the DM photo. A emergency phone number is needed in you instruction.
- Jeremy (8/5): Very good -
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Nice little place No lift and narrow stairs don't bring large bags
- Toccara (7/5): Good - It was a nice size for two people Under the beds needed cleaning
- Ivana (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (9/5): Perfecto location near Sensoji Temple , metro, and tourist facilities. - We would have appreciated instructions in English, especially how to use the stove and how to turn on water shower heating
- Jodie (8/5): Very good - It was quite roomy for a Japanese hotel. In a quiet area Had everything we needed. Bit far from the train station. Needed more kitchen equipment.
- Mel (9/5): Great location, friendly, clean & comfortable!! - Location was good. Off the main road, close to what we needed.
- Andreina (10/5): Wonderful stay in Asakusa - It was just as pictured. Very clean, beautiful and spacious. The owners response time was quick and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again!
- Tharani (4/5): it was okay - was clean The room didnt have elevator, the room was so crunched for a family of four the pics shared and what we saw was different we thought it was a single bedroom but it was jus a single room no space to move around and we have to carry all our luggages to fourth floor up and down and there were no elevators
- Carin (9/5): Superb -
- Jo (8/5): We would definitely recommend it for the location which we loved - many atractions around and easy access to central par - Great location, nice space. It wasn’t very clean. Super dusty surfaces, we found items left behind by previous guests.
- Katarina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bella (1/5): Bad - we were not even able to access the place so we had to leave and find a different hotel.
- Zamani (6/5): Pleasant -
- Angelina (8/5): It’s was great - The kitchen was great and there was enough space for dining. The stairs were steep, there was no lift which made it difficult to get 5 suitcases upstairs
- Belinda (7/5): Noisy Upstairs Neighbours - The room itself was a good size for Tokyo standards. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were really good. The bathroom was nice and it was good having a washing machine as well as a small kitchen cook top. The whole apartment was very noisy and we had some particularly disrespectful upstairs neighbours. There we clearly either kids or circus animals jumping and stomping around all night and until the early hours of the morning. After a few nights of this we complained to the owner and they did respond quickly, however, whilst the upstairs tenants curbed their loud stomping the following night, they resumed again the next night. We were leaving the following night so didn't follow this up with the owner. Whilst this isn't the fault of the owner, we felt that even with more respectful tenants, the soundproofing of the whole apartment was insufficient and ineffective, as we could even hear the lightest of steps or people talking/yelling/playing outside in the street. We were on level 2F or 3 floors in total, so it might have been a different review if we had no one above us, but I doubt it.
- Nola (6/5): Good - with four adults and two kids. - It was quiet and relaxing. Also stores / restaurant within walking distance
The Tokyo Solamachi is close by and a good place to tour the closet was inaccessible and only one small cabinet for one person to put clothes in - all others luggage left on floor and open for access.
- Danielle (8/5): Great comfortable apartment for family of 4 - would 100% stay here again! - Great apartment, and great location for exploring Tokyo. It's a little bit of a walk from Asakusa station with your bags, but such a lovely quiet area to stay in, just a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Asakusa. Beds and facilities were all great. Great bathroom - separate toilet. Great little basic kitchen & table area.
No lifts so you need to carry your bags up the steps to the apartment, but we were staying 6 nights, so didn't mind doing it once!
Would 100% stay here again. Family of 4 with 2 teenagers. Nothing
- Isabella (9/5): Superb -
- Hui (9/5): High recommended. - It was spacious more than a hotel room of similar price. This is great when travelling as a family. The location was quiet and mixed amongst locals, not overly touristy zone even though Sensoji was just a short walk away.
Great local restaurants nearby to be discovered when you walk around.
Convenient transport to get to more touristic areas like Ginza.
- Natalie (9/5): Superb - Very clean. Modern shower room and drying facilities. East facing windows with good morning sun. Close to attractions. Scratched cooking pots. But we managed with convenient store food with only microwave.
- Joshua (8/5): Overall a good stay in a quiet residential area - Great location as its a residential area, walking distance to everywhere. Close to some Konbini so getting snacks was easy. nice view of the sky tree. overall pretty good stay The size of the room is so small, but thats to be expected in many houses in Japan. There was only 1 spoon, but 4 butter knives. Just needs better inventory. The 4th floor balcony door (from stairwell) did not lock, so thats a privacy issue as any one could enter teh private balcony to our room.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was very quick to respond to all of our questions. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash all readily available. 16 minute walk from train station, or 4 minute walk from bus stop. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!
- Chiu (10/5): Highly recommended cosy unit suitable for families with young kids! - It fit our family of 5. 2 adults and 3 kids. You need to input the correct people staying. We had an extra single bed that was in the room for our 5th person. So we all had our own sleeping space. The unit might be small but it’s cosy. The clothes hanging area at the bedroom fit our luggage. I appreciate the small kitchen as we could heat up simple hot meals if we wanted. There is nearby kombini too. Note, they only have a washer and no dryer. But the shower room have a heating function. So what we did was do hang out laundered clothes and hang it on the rail before we sleep and next morning, clothes would be dry. Note, our unit is on 2nd floor (ground floor is 1st unit). There is nobody to lug your luggage up. You DIY. Lucky it’s a short flight of stairs. Also strictly no leaving luggage there after you check out and before your flight. Overall, it was a very comfy stay. Amenities are clean and new and we love this cosy unit! It’s about 900m away from the nearest subway station. And accessible to many spots on downtown. We are walking distance to Asakusa temple too. Thanks for a lovely stay! It would be great if we can place our luggage there after we check out but they were very clear they don’t provide such services.
- Gian (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandra (10/5): Would highly recommend. - This place was incredible value. Excellent location. Clean, quiet, spacious rooms with all the amenities you would need. Nothing.
- Eleosia (10/5): Spacious - The unit is very spacious, modern, clean, and has all the necessary living amenities for a comfortable stay. It's located in a more quiet neighborhood about 15 minutes walking distance from Sensoji Temple & Asakusa station but allow us lots of access to shops and restaurants. It's also a short walking distance to Sumida Park, highly recommend for morning walks.
- Nadine (8/5): Very good -
- Etin (7/5): Great location and comfortable stay for the price. - Great location in Asakusa. 15 minute walk from Sensō-ji temple. The Asakusa train station is around a 15 minute walk also. A few buses within a 5 minute walk. The area was quiet. The room was clean and the beds were a great size. Price was great! The one bedroom apartment with terrace doesn’t have a separate living space. It’s similar to a studio with 2 beds and a table. This room is not suitable for 4 people. We were a group of 3 and had just enough space to move around. Pretty cramped. Also there are 3 flights of STEEP stairs so beware if you have a ton of luggage.
There is no sink in the living area so if you use any of the mugs provided, you would need to wash them in the bathroom sink.
- Muhammed (8/5): Good stay and quiet but not enough pillows and steep stairways. - Location Not enough pillows and no elevator.Only stairways.
- Raymond (10/5): Maybe you improve your toilet, but we very happy staying at Tokyo Akatsuki Hotel - Facilities very convinience, very clean I do not like the comport room is so narrow and small for big person like me...
- Romina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Siti (9/5): Will come back for the great facilities! - Comfortable and just nice fit for my 5family members 😇 Too quiet for Malaysian hehe but everything else is perfect 👍🏻
