Excellent spacious & modern bathrooms …. Great to find in an old Victorian building , such as this .
Very warm welcome , and early check in was not a problem . Great food in the Restaurant .
- giuliano (7/5): - Nice spacious room Breakfast poor, no fresh bakery or scrambled eggs
- Hunter (10/5): -
- ILCHO (9/5): - Very friendly staff. Great restaurant with a Turkish grill.
- Flynn (8/5): Great stop over for a flying visit to Glasgow - Nice and close to the motorway for my journey the next day. staff seemed friendly and continental breakfast was included . Was quite noisy with work going on .

- Debbie (10/5): Great value for money with great food and friendly staff - Great value for money, with great food and friendly staff It was all good
- Rankine (1/5): was that bad i left at 7 in the morning i just wanted out of there - nothing was absoloutely terrible the room was dirty. the tv didnt work. the wifi didnt work. the bar wasnt open. the breakfast was put out the nite before and left to go stale i couldnt eat it. after that we left at 7 in the morning i just wanted out if there and go home. the man working that nite just sat on phone and was very ignorant the worse place ive stayed
- Alex (8/5): - The room was very spacious and very clean The continental breakfast wasn't very good
- Angie (9/5): Surprisingly good hotel. - Everything. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Dinner was great and busy. The bar and restaurant were very popular. Nothing
- sean (8/5): Excellent restaurant. Decent accommodation - Staff were great. The room was very clean and there were spares of everything. Although a busy restaurant is downstairs I didnt hear a thing from my room. Decent amount of storage in the room too. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff are very attentive. Water pressure in the bathroom could definitely be improved. The shower was not very powerful. The mattress needs replaced as you can hear and feel the springs.
- dino (10/5): Excellent Place - Kamil and his entire team were absolutely brilliant, friendly and prompt service , excellent Turkish food , good full bodied Turkish wine.
Will definitely return

- Anna-Maria (7/5): - Short stay . Location Lots of stairs .Although helped with luggage not very good if you have mobility issues

- Barbara (9/5): Excellent value for money, fabulous Turkish restaurant, we will definitely return - Very welcoming hotel, excellent value for money and the Turkish restaurant was fabulous The breakfast was very basic and not very appetising. The coffee was very good though!
- Aline (9/5): Like a second home! Very happy - I love Hotel Baba. Its very comfortable clean and relaxed. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food there is fantastic. The only thing I wasn't happy about was that the water coming out of our cold water tap in the sink was always tepid so I wasn't happy about using it as drinking water. However I am sure if we'd mentioned it to the staff they would have supplied us with bottled water, as it was we just picked some up when we were out
- Caitlin (10/5): -
- FRANCOIS (9/5): - Dinner was good, Turkish cuisine served with smile Breakfast was not as expected.
No English nor Scottish breakfast.
Croissant in plastic bag.
- Dominic (8/5): The room facilities were excellent - very comfortable bed with fresh bed-linen. Continental breakfast was good. - Very nice period building. There was no safety handle on the over the bath/shower, which we mentioned to staff.
- Charles (8/5): Great location, modern clean bedrooms - Very well proportioned rooms, very clean with lots of useful storage in bedroom and bathroom, large modern plasma tv For my taste I felt the mattress was a little soft and a tad uncomfortable in places, parking a bit of problem with awkward lay out, but not much hotel can do with that
- Louise (7/5): A comfortable stay which would have been made better with an improved breakfast. - The room was clean and the Turkish restaurant downstairs served very good food and was very busy. The location was lovely and the room size very good. The breakfast could have been better. There were very limited cereal choices and a lot of options were in packets or covered in cling film. There were no cooked options.
- Justine (8/5): - Location near motorway and size of room. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk in room and restaurant downstairs was really good Banging door from restaurant downstairs which lead to hallway with bathrooms, could hear it in the room in the evening.
- Howard (5/5): Style over substance - The look and size of the room.
The man who we discussed our water issues with. The lady who checked us in didn't come across very friendly.
The noise of slamming doors, soft close systems would be appreciated
The breakfast was super basic.
The beds were not comfortable.
No parking spaces available upon arrival.
Brown hot water, apparently caused by a local fire.
- Julian (8/5): -
- Janet (10/5): Comfortable, clean hotel giving excellent value for money - An Edwardian property with large rooms and windows, high ceilings with original decorative cornices and very comfortable. The hotel is very clean with an excellent Turkish Restaurant on site. It is in an ideal location for visiting various tourist attractions with excellent public transport links. It was excellent value for money. There wasn’t anything I did not like about the hotel. I have stayed there several times because I like it so much and will do so again in the future.
- David (7/5): More than adequate for a short stay. - Great quiet location. Excellent restaurant.
Limited on breakfast choice, would really benefit from the option of a cooked breakfast. Hotel lacks attention to detail. Limited breakfast choice.
The hotel looks a little untidy outside.
- Katharine (7/5): - Clean, comfortable. I did struggle on stairs with walking stick. Pleasant staff. Limited breakfast choice.
- Judith (5/5): Adequate stay - Location was convenient Limited soundproofing between rooms
Very slow hot water
Slightly unbothered welcome from staff
It was an adequate stay but I wouldn't recommend it.
- Andrew (8/5): Surprised in person how well it was, great value but limited breakfast but for the price, I loved it. - Booking.com Good price and looks clean
- Nick (9/5): I would stay again - Staff were excellent and friendly. Room was clean and comfy.
- Ahmed (8/5): Nice, clean comfortable hotel with a good Turkish Restaurant. - I liked the staff, the reiception, the assistance, the building and the location in a quiet area.
The Continental Breakfast was very good. The Turkish restaurant is very popular and offers very good food.
The building is beautiful red old design near Bothwell Castle of Uddingston, not far from Glasgow Centre. Good parking. The first room had problem with hot water, and this addressed straight away, I was moved to another room.
- martin (10/5): -
- Alex (9/5): - Breakfast was poor
- Steve (8/5): -
- Donna (10/5): -
- Donna (10/5): Perfect stay, great food and lovely staff. - Great service, nothing is too much trouble, rooms are huge with high ceilings and the facilities are ideal. The food is lovely and the location ideal to get into Glasgow in 12mins! Ended up staying two nights as we so good.
- stuart (10/5): -
- Adrianaroo (8/5): -
- Ursula (5/5): Needs an investment of cash to bring back to a good standard. - Great quiet location away from the city. This is the first bad review I’ve ever given for a hotel stay. Windows need changing. There was an ice cold wind through the room all night and only a thin summer quilt for warmth. Felt like I was camping. Curtains didn’t fit the windows so spotlights shon in. Breakfast was put out early evening the night before so was a little tired by morning. Coffee was so thin I thought it was tea. The staff did their best and were very friendly, I think it’s a management problem.
- Yaroslav (10/5): -
- Jade (9/5): Really great hotel and we look forward to returning on our next trip. - The hotel Baba is a really nice, clean, spacious and very affordable hotel - great value for money. We also had a fantastic meal to the room that was absolutely delicious and really generous portions. The only thing was the spotlights at the front of the building woke me at 4am as were pointed to the room, i had an eye mask with me so it was ok but I would definitely suggest taking an eye mask.
- Alastair (8/5): - Location is good. Breakfast was not good.
- Brandon (6/5): -
- Brian (8/5): Worth the travel - Staff were welcoming and allowed me to check in early after travelling from England. Room was spacious and very clean and the bathroom was bigger than expected. Breakfast was included but was disappointed as it was a continental breakfast which wasn’t explained on the booking. A blind in the bathroom was need as the window led out into the street. Had to put towel up to hide privacy
- Jon (8/5): Enjoyable stay for work. Very nice staff and a nice hotel - Great hotel, clean and quiet.
Breakfast could be better Breakfast.
- Karen (5/5): -
- Constantin Cozmin (10/5): -
Ham
.. Etc
- Donna (9/5): Great location, value and lovely food. - Great location 12mins into Glasgow. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The rooms are a good size, clean and great value for money.
- Jim (9/5): Excellent. - Everything was excellent about my stay. Staff, food, room and distance from station. Will definitely be back.
- PEDRO JOSÉ (8/5): -
- Charles (9/5): -
- Sinead (7/5): Adequate but not a good night's sleep. - The staff were lovely and very friendly. The bed was uncomfortable, the curtains didn't fit the windows so let in light.
I'm sure the windows opening that far is illegal.
- Shubhi (6/5): Affordable with brilliant rooms but, facility-wise, you only get what you're paying for. - The cleaning lady was lovely. The rooms are great. The location was also fantastic if you want to be in the North Lan area. The breakfast was an absolute joke. Some of the staff were really unclear and it was impossible to converse with them over the phone because it seemed like they didn't understand. The cleaning time space was too short and if you left after 12pm, the room couldn't be cleaned. There is no room service.
- Lindsay (8/5): -
- Mark (9/5): - Comfort and staff N/A
- Steven (9/5): Comfy restful stay with good attentive staff - The location was good. The bed and pillows were very comfy. The room was excellent Breakfast was a little light but acceptable
- Samuel (10/5): Fantastic food - The best food I've ever had. My wife said the same. Nothing
- Susan (5/5): -
- Jules (5/5): - No USB for phone charger
TV not usable as no signal
No staff around during breakfast.
- Pauline (10/5): A gem - The room was spacious and very clean with great facilities including a fridge! A restaurant menu was in the room, thoughtful touch. All staff we met were polite and professional. Will definitely stay again. Small amount of parking spaces.
- T.HENDRIE (8/5): - Location perfect. No buffet breakfast this morning.
- Elizabeth (5/5): Never go again pleased to come home we went for a funeral - Where it was situated, clean shower facilities ok. Parking was good Breakfast was all cold Turkish style no option for cooked breakfast. Table manned by an old man who had three friends on another table talking Turkish loudly we are English. We had slice of toast and cheese for breakfast wasn’t stated cold buffet. Second day no milk for tea, no teabags on table. Had to wait to find someone to help. Water in a jug. Coffee in a jug. Hit water was cold for tea had to get separate small jug with boiling water in it for one cup of tea. Room looked good no glasses in bathroom. Skirting boards falling off.
- Matthew (9/5): Great stay - The rooms were very spacious and clean. Everything you needed was in there. The shower took between 5-10 minutes to heat up.
- Lorna (10/5): -
- rob (8/5): would definitely stay here again when working in the area - the food in the restaurant is fantastic, but be warn, the portions are large room a little unfinished in places, but warm and clean
- Isobel (8/5): Very pleasant stay and value for money - Very comfortable and facilities good. Staff very pleasant The outside path is poorly lit
- Clare (10/5): Great hotel and staff very welcoming - Lovely hotel room nice and clean and bed very comfortable
- alfie (6/5): Good location, good restaurant, room had obviously had a fairly recent refurbishment but can’t forgive curtains being to - Restaurant downstairs was really nice Hot water took almost 10 minutes to get hot. The curtains weren’t big enough to cover the window so was letting in light all night (the outside light from the restaurant was on until about 1am). There was no sound proofing, could hear tv in the room next to me like it was in my hotel room.
- Sean (8/5): -
- Janeann (8/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful Bed very uncomfortable and more choice for breakfast would have been good
- gavin (10/5): - Restaurant was outstanding and the friendliest staff
- Su (10/5): -
- James (10/5): Hugely enjoyed our stay . Hotel provided all we needed and would definitely recommend it - Location was excellent . Breakfast was value for money staff were friendly and helpful the restaurant was excellent . Proximity to all public transport was an added bonus Only the weather !
- Cynthia (10/5): Super - Accueil chaleureux, personnel aimable, chambre spacieuse, lit de bonne calités hôtelière. l'hôtel propose un restaurant délicieux et petit-déjeuner complet.
- Francis (10/5): Made last minute booking due to family bereveavment and you exceeded my expectations - Probably would prefer English style breakfast however it was a nice change and great selection. The pre made coffee was very weak but I am a little ocd when it comes to coffee. Overall clean good selection and lots of comfortable space. Well done Nothing
It was perfect
- Daniel (9/5): Elegant, comfortable and lovely staff - Family atmosphere, clean, great price Mattresses could do with an upgrade
- Steve (10/5): Lovely hotel to stay and relax and enjoy the location - Welcoming with staff who were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is a beautiful stone built property set back from the road . The restaurant on site is popular with a great menu. Nothing in our stay disappointed us.
- Slobodan (10/5): -
- Dawn (8/5): Very enjoyable - Everything was fine I'm a disabled person and there wasn't a lift. I struggled with the stairs
- Martin (9/5): Good hotel beautiful room no breakfast - There was no breakfast possessed cheese and some tomatoes are not a breakfast That there was no breakfast option was told at night that breakfast would be between 7 and 10 but when I went down the staff looked bemused at the request for breakfast not even the tea I got served was cold this is no way the staff members fault she was fabulous
- Adam (10/5): Very polite staff and rooms were lovely! - Everything Nothing
- John (5/5): Was somewhere to stay and convenient for our purpose. - Friendliness of welcome. Willingness to deal with a room problem. Continental Breakfast was poor. Advertised for 7am. One member of staff turned up at 8am. No fruit selection or yoghurt. Cereal only offered at end of meal. No toast. Pastries were from supermarket.
- Charlotte (9/5): It is ok - Nice design in the room. No Mirror for doing makeup or dry my hair. There is no plus in toilet so I cannot use toilet mirror to do that. No sidetable next to bed so it is nowhere to put things like eyemask, book, phone by the bedside.
- Bryce (10/5): -

- Jacqueline (8/5): - Lovely food in restaurants and bar
- Alison (3/5): -
