• John (9/5): Prima hotel uitstekende ligging - Ligging in centrum, dichtbij winkels en strand. Prima kamer, heerlijke bedden. Lekker ontbijt. Dichtbij restaurants. Parkeren voor de deur, maar openbaar. Er staat full time beveiliging.

The rating on booking is too high!!! - The location is quiet and parking is safe nearby Rooms are average, beds and mattresses are worn out. Staff is fed up. Breakfast is very poor compared to other accommodations in Namibia.

• Juergen (10/5): Schönes Haus am Meer. - Das Schweizerhaus liegt nah am Strand und man kann das Meeresrauschen hören. Unser Zimmer hatte Meeresblick und unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich. Beim Frühstück im dazugehörigen Café Anton bleiben keine Wünsche offen. Kuchen, Torten, süsse Stückchen gibt es. Aber auch Yoghurt, Obst und Cerealien. Ausserdem werden auf Wunsch Eierspeisen frisch zubereitet. Alles in allem eine klare Empfehlung. Das Haus ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen und könnte einige Renovierungen vertragen. Dieser Zustand versprüht aber auch einen gewissen Charme, daher kein Punktabzug.

• Gerhard (1/5): Schlechtestes Hotel ever - Die Lage ist gut. Das Zimmer hat nach allem gestunken, was besser in die Tolette gehört. Es ist die schlechteste Unterkunft die ich seit Jahren hatte. Ich kann jeden nur enpfehlen die Fingef davon zu lassen. Als wir kamnen, waren alle Fensted und auch Türen offen nachdem wir alles geschlossen hatten, wussten wir auch warum. Es hat gestunken, sidass wir nicht dorg schlafen konnten. Und keiner mehr da der uns helfen konnte. Wir mussten uns dann etwas anderes suchen.
• Maumela (8/5): I would like to stay in this hotel in future. - I like the staff were so kind and I was so amazed when you stayed for five nights without paying the amount of your stay. We stayed with my husband for six nights and paid on the checking out day. In future they should not take long time preparing the eggs,boervors and bacon because they were bringing those food when you are done with breakfast.

• Tanja (8/5): Haben uns wohl gefühlt - Der Nachtportier. Er war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Hotel hat noch einen alten Flair, aber sehr sauber und gepflegt. Für das teuerste Zimmer mit Meerblick finden wir das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis schwach. Es gab nicht Mal einen Fön. Kann in der Nacht laut sein, vor allem am Wochenende.

• Brent (9/5): Overlook the decor and enjoy a great deal. - Great value for money, nice location and wonderful staff. Breakfast was pretty good too. When finishing an are as dates as they were here (forest green carpet), you worry about cleanliness but this place was impeccable. Twin beds slide around and I woke up between the mattresses a couple of times.

• Maxim (9/5): Стратегическое расположение в Свакомпунде - Отель отлично расположен, у нас был номер с видом на океан. Можно было пить вино любоваться закатом. Номера в отеле очень большие и функциональные. Расположение стратегическое: в одну сторону набережная, в другую красивейший центр города с магазинами, ч третью выход к пирсу с рыбными ресторанами и свежими устрицами. Персонал отеля замечательный, есть своё кофе с отличным кофе и вкуснейшими штруделем. Завтраки неплохие, сытные и подают любой кофе, какой пожелаете. Рядом охраняемая парковка. Выбором отеля остались довольны. Отель уже не новый, это не мешает проживания, но если сделать реновацию было бы идеально!
• SNW (5/5): Dismal Accommodation. - The location is good. Close to the beach [ short walk]. Disappointed with the accommodation. Room was not well cleaned with lots of cigarettes left out (had to head back to reception to request cleaning). The cafe seems the management focus and the accommodation an after thought. Towels were very stained and ended up buying a towel at the shops. Rickety small beds and a very tiny room. Breakfast is fair but same buffet layout daily. The staff tend to focus more on the outside guests at breakfast. Cafe closes at 2pm and everyone leaves and you come through a side door with no reception service at all. It was scary on night 1 to come up the stairs and figure out where the corridor lights were .....spooky😱

The location is very convenient for sightseeing and for going out to restaurants at night. The area feels safe to walk around, even in the evening. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. When my shuttle bus to the airport didn’t show up, they quickly arranged a car for me, and I was able to catch my flight on time. Their cafe is also nice. None

• Steven (9/5): Great value for money - Great location, clean, special request was honored, room was large with a bathtub and large balcony, bed and pillows were better than most places I have been in. Old european guesthouse feel. Room temperature was a bit low but I had the best sleep I’ve had in a hotel there. Breakfast had a jumbo sized omelette made by the chef every morning. Friendly ”family owned” service.

Staff friendly and an excellent laundry service. Cafe Anton provides goodl breakfast and other delights. Lack of hot water on one night.

• David (10/5): Charming vintage beachside hotel that still manages to be in the center of town. - The Hotel Schweizerhaus is an older hotel in the heart of historic Swakopmund, within a few blocks of a very nice beach, yet right downtown. This review is based on a three night stay in May of 2025. I was extremely impressed with this hotel. The staff were kind, professional, and helpful. The hotel itself is almost "vintage," in that it is older but in very good shape. I had a large family room with a sea view and a balcony. It was really quite large. The hotel's location really can't be beat. It is a few minutes walk from most of the good restaurants in town, from grocery stores, bars, and tourist shops. The hotel hosts a charming cafe/patisserie that is very much a center of social life in Swakopmund. It has indoor and outdoor seating and was full much of the time I was there. Breakfast at the hotel is very good, and people come from outside the hotel to have breakfast there. I would recommend this hotel unreservedly to anyone staying in Swakopmund. In fact, I already have recommended it to many colleagues. This is not a negative comment, but it is something worth mentioning, perhaps. Getting to the room I had involved a lot of stairs and hallways. That was fine for me, but might not be for everyone.

• Margaret (10/5): Rolling waves, palm trees and a dramatic lighthouse to dream on. - Breakfast was delicious, friendly, relaxed and comfortable all with a sea view onto crashing waves in the background. My veranda and bedroom had views onto curling waves peeping up through exotic palm trees with a glimpse onto an ancient light house to further dream on sea faring stories.
