Guest Reviews
- Christopher (9/5): - Plenty of space and we'll equipped cabin, in a grat location. There's not much soundproofing between cabins. The neighbours were quite noisy.

- Nicola (7/5): Great location. - The location was lovely The bed was very uncomfortable and the sofa bed was also worn and old with a thin mattress and dip on the middle. The charge of £30 per night for a dog i found to be unreasonable and opted not to bring my dog as planned and also the unexpected charge of £5 per day for electricity, i thought was unnecessary as it should have been included in the initial cost. It would be a struggle to use that much electricity considering the size of the lodge. It seemed a bit greedy.
- Alan (9/5): - Very clean tidy lodge. Delightful walk in natural woodland behind lodge. Smiley helpful staff. Very good value for money.
- SUSAN (5/5): Hazel Woodland Lodge - Spacious living/kitchen area and comfortable sofa. The bedroom, bathroom and hall smelt of urine.
Scruffy and poorly maintained.
The neighbours small child cried so loudly and frequently that we resorted to wearing earphones during the evening. Although this was not the fault of the chalet owners please note that Hazel Woodland ‘Lodge’ is not detached and is one of a row of terraced chalets with no sound proofing.
Payment of £5 electricity a day is requested in cash to be left in their envelope on the table.
- Michelle (10/5): Nature-lovers' heaven - This is a beautiful little getaway from the world. It's a stunning place to be, with the comforts of home. The "dog walk" around the back of the lodges is not to be missed for nature-lovers, regardless of whether you have a dog with you! There are some great games towards the front of the property that kids will love. The property as a whole is beautiful, but some areas need a little TLC. We went down to the fire pit, but the steps down to it, and the furniture there, were a bit rotten. Would also benefit from having some herbs and spices in the cupboard for your cooking as it's self-catered. Also there is no reception sign, so there were a few people looking round for guidance. It's the door marked private. You might need to knock on to get towels because my emails requesting them weren't seen. Be mindful you have to pay on site for towels, pet fee and for electricity. Overall, just wonderful and the staff are great!

- Stephen (10/5): Weekend fun - Accommodation and location, outside area with gate for to keep the dog safe. Not that I didn't like but a couple of side tables for drinks would be useful 🤔
Possibly a larger frying pan.
But accommodation was great.
- Gabriel (7/5): lodge needs improvements, bit too expensive - Location is what you expect from highland and lakes, beautiful sceneries and nature. the lodge location as well is well placed in the site and easy to find. very old and dated all through, much of the stuff were detailed in the lodge description wasn't available such as hair drier and boardgames wich we really needed. We also find out that we need to pay for electricity about £5 per day that it was not detailed on the lodged details before booking.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Great accomadation clean and tidy.
Welcome Tea and Coffee
Lodge was great and the park was spotless.
Hosts were very welcoming.
Great base to explore the surrounding area
- Evelyn (8/5): Nice base for weekend stay - Very comfortable lodge, good location for exploring area, lots of nice walks Lodge quite dark as tucked into hill at back, no view from front except car park and other lodge
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (9/5): We both loved our stay at Hazel Lodge. Perfect location and accommodation perfect for our needs - Location No view from lodge a little disappointing
- Darren (3/5): Poor - Surrounding area was lovely. Good walks with the dog Not as advertised. Place had an awful smell to it, hairs from previous guest stuck to bathroom walls, water was full of brown and white floating bits, there was no view from lodge and the door wouldn't shut properly so we had a draft coming constantly. Messaged the host through booking and through the number they left and got no response. Eventually we got a hold of the owner who just dismissed all our complaints, she sent her man over to put silicone over door which done nothing to stop the draft. Beware of hidden charges when you arrive too
- Glmg (8/5): Comfortable lodge - Spacious lodge and little additions like, milk, tea, coffee & biscuits on arrival. Liked the little gates you could put up if you wanted on the porch. Good shower and other additional items like pepper & oil were much appreciated. First time we've had no hairdryer or towels and there was a big gap in the seal of the door at the bottom right-hand corner if you're looking out from the lodge. First time we've ever had to pay additional costs for electricity (£15) and the dog, despite requesting dog friendly at booking (£30) for a chihuahua so (£45) all in, on top of the cost already paid. However, it was comfortable enough for 3 days.
- David (5/5): Adequate - It was quiet. The accommodation had all the basics you would need. Powerful shower - as long as no more than two showers taken after each other. The shower curtain - it stuck to you while showering. a screen would be more effective and much nicer. The damp wood in and around the bathroom. It was disappointing to realise that electricity wasn't included and that we needed to pay extra for our stay. This made an affordable stay much more expensive than expected.
- Ana (8/5): Very good - Cute little cabin, nice nature, cosy atmosphere, nice host Absolutely 0 sound insulation between cottages, so it's a gamble who is staying next to you (in our case both sides as our cottage was in the middle). Next to us was a large family of 10-12 people, you could hear them as they were in the same room. First night they stayed awake till 3am, the second night I don't know if they were sleeping at all. They weren't yelling or having loud music, but just normal talking and kids were running - but without sounding insolation we could hear every single word. So if peace and quiet is you priority - its a huge gamble
- Catherine (10/5): Most enjoyable - will certainly return !! - The location was excellent. The chalet was perfect for our needs. The hostess Glenda was extremely helpful and so welcoming. It was a most enjoyable break. The weather and the scenery were amazing !! Would have liked to walk into town and back. There was a path but not an easy walk
- Mary (10/5): Very well equipped lodge - Lodge was, perfect for our needs. Only stayed for 2 nights to do some local hillwalking. Very comfortable and well equipped for self catering.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely, cosy clean cabin. Dog friendly, quiet and everything there we needed for our short break. Glenda, our host, was lovely, made sure we were all ok and settled in and was on hand in case of any issues, which there weren't.
We will definitely come back and highly recommend xx The
- Jen (8/5): Very good - Great spot for hikers. Has everything you need and lovely hosts.
