• Rizwan (7/5): Value for money - Location and the atmosphere. A baby bat and a frog was accompanying us in the dining hall. Which was quite uncomfortable.
• Robyn (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning views from the apartment and very spacious. There was lots of wildlife around (which we liked) and away from the loud city noises and pollution. We didn’t dislike anything but it’s good to know that there aren’t supermarkets or restaurants close by and you need a tuk tuk to get up the hill comfortably.

It was not slow -The width of the area made us happy during our long stay -The house was generally not clean -The kitchenware was not useful -We had to use a tuktuk for transportation because it was on a hill, sometimes it was very difficult to find a tuktuk from Pickme.

• Aleksandra (7/5): A nice place that needs a lot of love - It’s spacious, the view from the terrace is spectacular. We met the host’s sister and she was helpful and quick to answer my messages. PickMe app works well for getting a tuktuk to the city center It looks like it hasn’t been deeply cleaned (i.e. windows, tiles) in ages. It’s very bare (unpainted walls, untidy terrace) and lacks certain features (mosquito net!). It was pretty noisy at night (dogs barking, some strange sounds that we could hear because of thin walls and lack of roof insulation) - but maybe we were just unlucky. There were ants in the bathroom.
• Analis (10/5): Best accommodation in Kandy - Beautiful views and lovely owners. We were really pleased that we had a fully functional kitchen and it was very clean. We would 100% come again and would recommend to anyone visiting Kandy. There wasn't anything we didn't like. For those who don't like walking, it is a bit of a hike up to the accommodation, but it's easy to get a tuktuk for a good price.

We loved having our breakfast on the little balcony, which had beautiful views overlooking the city. The location was very peaceful & out of the hustle bustle & noise of Kandy centre. Although we only met Ravi on our departure, we found him to be extremely warm & friendly. We would definitely stay here again. It was excellent value for money.
• Soumen (10/5): Up up cosy uplan inn - It was a big room with two large beds. We had the entire floor to ourselves. There is a huge outside area with a small operational kitchen. The views were good too. It's about 2 kms from the busstand and as the name suggests, it's on the top of a hill and one needs to take a tuktuk to reach here because it's quite uphill. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. They helped us with ordering food and also booked a tuktuk for us at checkout for a reasonable price. Thank you. Nothing really except for the wifi being a bit of an issue.

AS A LOCAL TOURIST I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS MUCH OF COMFORTABLE. IT IS A VERY LARGE STUDIO TYPE APARTMENT. IT'S ONLY 2 KM FROM THE CENTRE, BUT BIT MOUNTAINOUS.

• Roos (8/5): Very good - The room was very large with a little kitchen whereas we could cook some food. It is at walking distance of the city (especially walking to the city center, going back we always went with a tuktuk).

• Awo_nageeye (1/5): Staying here ruined our Kandy trip - The room is tidy, there is a kitchen with a gas stove and other things you may need. The bathroom is spacious. The room description does not match the room you book, there is no living room separate to the bedroom, no air-conditioning the owner takes away the remote, same for the TV, no lake view and wifi is really bad and the apartment is located in a place with a really bad signal, we couldn't use our data , also the apartment is located in a place with a tough road, taxi drivers and tuk tuk didn't feel to drive us down the long hill down to the apartment. Many ants in the bathroom and on the bedroom floor, the front door is uneven therefore at night bugs would come in. Overall it made for a really frustrating tough stay. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Modern apartment with nice windows and a terrace where you can watch the scenery As soon as we arrived, we looked for the owners, but we couldn't find them, so we entered the open apartment. Shortly afterwards the owners arrived and they were not very happy to see us inside. No problem. We asked for hot water, but it never worked

It is a bit of a walk into the city which is no problem when you are going down hill but on the way back up you will need to get a Tuktuk since it is quite up on the hill and very steep. Not a big problem tho and worth the nice view and cheap price!

The walk into the centre isn’t super close but if you don’t mind a few hills and some extra walking it’s perfect. WiFi isn’t great and not super convenient location but wasn’t a problem for us

They even gave us their own router when our wifi was down. A fridge would make the appartment much better, because the way to the city / next shops by foot takes long and is exhausting, since the appartment is on a hill. The internet sitiation could be better, as the dialog sim has very low connectivity and the WIFI was limited. Although it's noteworthy that the WIFI might be much better now, as the hosts said they want to change it. So take a look at more recent reviews to check the WIFI situation

• Sahan (10/5): Value for money 💰 - The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a balcony, air conditioning (not free), and a private bathroom. Also you have hot water 🚿 The bed 🛏️ was large and cozy, and the wifi 🌐 was fast and reliable. The room also had a private mini kitchen 🔪, with a mini refrigerator, a little tea bag set, milk powder, salt and sugar. It was very convenient to make my own tea or coffee ☕ anytime I wanted. The staff were very friendly and helpful. 😊 They also served breakfast every morning, with a choice of Asian or Western dishes (Personally I didn't try, you have to pay extra 💵 for that). The inn is close to some attractions, such as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the Vogue Lanka Travels, and the Sthree Cafe. However, it is a bit far from the city center, and the public transportation is not very convenient 🚕️. Because this entire journey road is steeps in several places. The parking space is also limited, and the inn can get noisy during peak hours.

It was extremely convenient that the owner wrote detailed instructions on how to find the property and even regular tuk tuk prices (however the tuk tuk price is higher than it is indicated (at least 600rs).
