- Charlie (7/5): Delightful place, super facilities and value for money. - Amazing character! Was like being transported back in time! Amazing facilities for the price and all the things you need for your stay the room. It was very hot in the room!! And we could have done with a bedside table and maybe more than one electric socket, if I had to be fussy!!

- Kulwant (9/5): GYM Sauna and heated swim pool - Amazing facilities swimming pool heated sauna and gym 🏋️♀️ can't complain best place so far to stay for me. No food available had to order on line which i don't use ever.
- Michal (8/5): -
- Jonas (10/5): Old school - It is old style hotel but Properly it was good stay and room was clean as I expect. For me it would be cheaper better nothing special in as hotel looks like very old
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Viktoria (7/5): - The staff were nice and helpful.
Nice location, close to the Peak District Park. Too noisy. The floors here squeak with every step, and the walls are very thin. I could hear everyone walking around and talking. Dogs barking at night. If you are a light sleeper, definitely look elsewhere.
- Linda (5/5): - The location. It was quiet and in a lovely.area No type of anything to keep cool. Not even a window. This is a bit petty but no remote for tele which was a pain especially with the hot weather going back and changing channels. No information about anything around the.area..the car park was full of bumps a⁹nnd pot holes .
- Millie (10/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): - Beautiful grounds, lovely pool, rooms was lovely as we had a balcony. Shower and toilet was bit small.
- Poppy (7/5): I would recommend. - The room was cool for the kids, we enjoyed it. We enjoyed the pool too. The girls on the reception were lovely especially the girl who worked on the desk on the Sunday we left. One of the girls dad wasn't very pleasant to have a conversation with because I made a mistake of pressing the wrong button in the steam room. He was very irritated and annoyed and was very sarcastic with me which led me to leave the pool and then the next night taking my sons back to the pool through the pub where he was drinking in and he looked at me and shook his head and done a sarcastic smile and laugh. Was gutted the sunbeds and steam room wasn't working this is the second week we have visited now and they don't serve food so we had to drive out to get something for us and the kids. But other than that, everything was lovely. Lovely area and lovely two girls who worked there.

- Thandiwe (8/5): - The rooms are clean and big enough. The staff is very friendly. The shower is very small, not enough space. The bedding had a stain on it.The carpets are old. No food available at the property.

- Chris (6/5): It's ok - Bed was nice and hard, that's how I prefer them so absolutely brilliant. Nice sized TV too. Had a little balcony which was a massive plus. Staff were awesome too. I'm really trying to not put a downer on this hotel, however, the room had 2 sockets which the TV was plugged into and the other one was spare, however, nowhere near the bed. There was absolutely nothing around the bed, no side tables, no sockets, nothing. Apart from two very old looking wall lamps. The sofa was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was tiny, I've had bigger bathrooms in a caravan, it was so small that the washing basin was in the room. The floors creeked very loudly anytime they were walked on. (I realise this is a very old building so I would expect that). It's definitely showing its age which is a huge shame. They are redecorating so it's totally fine. The room was like a sauna, even though the radiator was off. But we had the door open which cooked it down fast.
- gibbons (10/5): - Clean value for money Nout
- Parry (1/5): -
- James (5/5): Priced appropriately for basic accommodation - It is the definition of faded glory. A magnificent building that has seen better days. The staff were very friendly and did their best to make up for the obvious limitations of the property. The bar had a surprisingly wide range of drinks. It needs a lot doing to it, and no amount of titivation can save it, it needs and deserves a full renovation to reclaim the stature it once had.
- Mileham (8/5): Stayed Saturday til Monday , really comfortable bed , staff very friendly and helpful , good price , will definitely sta - Staff were fantastic , very helpful , real homely feel Just needs modernising , but can’t fault my stay
- Rawlinson (1/5): - Nice location , original features Very outdated rooms , need a
Total renovation, stains on bed bases
Had to sleep on top of duvet
The balcony was disgustingly dirty , full of cigarette ends , looks like they have never been cleaned
- Rother (10/5): We enjoyed ourselves. - we had an excellent sleep and visit. Enjoyed ourselves in the pool. Could have served food for dinner or breakfast.
- andrew (2/5): Needs lots of attention to bring it up to any kind of star rating. - Unfortunately nothing Very dated and basic
- Adam (8/5): - Always like it when we come up here to stay. Feel more at home here then we do bk home. That shower didn't work in the room. But I think they looking into it getting it storted out
- Joshua (8/5): -
- Brian (8/5): - Quite a good hotel, rear car park and steps and walk way could do with some maintenance because it is quite dangerous. and quite a long way to main bar.
- Chris (5/5): Disappointed. - Not a lot, the bedding and towels were clean and fresh and the carpet was fairly new the staff were very helpful and friendly. It is very dated, old furniture, the balcony in my room was filthy the lighting wasn’t good. No food available nor tea or coffee other than in your room £180 for two nights is way overpriced.
- Aidan (8/5): - Room size and comfy bed Tiny bit dated bathroom wise but still good value
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Karina (8/5): - The staff is very friendly and the hotel has alot of nice facilities. The bar was very cosy and the location is great. Will deffinately come back here again. Very recommended The only thing that was strange there was no bedside tables. Other then that nothing else
- Emma (7/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): -
- katrina (6/5): Very basic hotel - Friendly staff
Lovely pool The whole hotel needs a complete refurb.
The rooms are extremely dated and need gutting.
- Helen (6/5): Was ok for what we wanted - Bar man was very polite and welcoming Bed was to hard, floors in room were very soft but was told in advance it was being refurbished.
- Lorraine (3/5): Staff very accommodating. They should close the place while refurbishing - I didn’t like anything about it. Needs knocking down and re building
- gibbons (10/5): - Great value
- Laura (1/5): stay got cancelled on the morning of the trip due to a water leak -

- Charlotte (10/5): - Stayed here with my partner for a night while visiting the city. I could not be happier with our experience. the service was phenomenal, everyone we interacted with was funny and delightful, the atmosphere, the rooms and location were also great. The place has excellent character and I hope they keep most of it while they are doing the refurb as it what attracted me the most for staying here! Great price as well especially to say there was a pool and gym included! 10/10 would recommend!!!
- Brooksbank (2/5): 0/10 cleanliness very bad - Location Room wasn’t cleaned, bins weren’t emptied, cups were used and the bath and sink were covered in black spots. Bed was uncomfy and unsure if it was even clean. Towels were also on the floor and the bathroom mat was chucked on top the toilet and looked used.
- Patryk (1/5): I was robbed by the hotel - nothing because the hotel canceled my stay Nie podobało się · The lady from the hotel called me on the day of the reservation and said that there was a water failure and she canceled my stay and said that she would refund my money.. This time I called the hotel and asked where my money was on Monday and the same lady said they would return it to me within 3 days.. of course I don't have money after 3 days and I wrote to them(photo 1) and they replied to me (photo 2) These thieves from the hotel think that I don't have proof of cancellation and don't want to give me my money back.. I have two phone recordings with the hotel proving that I was robbed and I will do everything to make the thieves from the hotel answer for their crimes.

- Chitra (7/5): - The price We thougjt what we saw on the website is what we were getting.. but work was going on. No restaurants, There was no hot tub if there was a hot tub we would have enjoyed ourselves
- Brogan (3/5): - Breakfast. Well…. There wasn’t an option for breakfast until we found some weetabix and 3 mouldy banana in the drawer 😂😂😂 Honestly, it was £35 for the night but holy moly it’s like a shitty version of faulty towers. But with a smart tv 😂
- Anita (1/5): Most disappointed - Nothing No heating broken TV, broken bed, excessive noise, dingy rooms, not clean,
- Kelly (10/5): -

- Roger (1/5): - Nothing Everything it so bad we didn't stay, the room was cold and damp, the radiator didn't get warm after 15 minutes.
I ask for a refund before we left but was refused. They said I had to claim through booking.com. who said because I paid at property it was not booking responsibility.

Blood on curtains
Bathroom was to small to wash in and smelt like stagnent water and stale urine
Shower gel was out of date by years
- Mandy (5/5): - Nice room, nice bathroom with bath, Kids knocking on doors at 11pm and the creeky floor boards
- Richard (8/5): Would stay again great staff and clean room - Convenient and clean The check in desk I had to walk through a party to check in
- Ashleigh (1/5): Staff do nothing to help and con people into paying for an extra room that won't be needed to get more money! The pl - Property would have been good value for money had they not made us book 2 rooms stating one room would not accommodate 2 adults and 2 children! The room was big and had 2 bathrooms! More than enough space for a family. Pool was ok The property was absolutely freezing! My teenage son slept in his coat!! The radiators were luke warm when turned up fully. It was unbearable! Very dated and had to plug the kettle in on the floor!
- Gregory (7/5): -
- Noortje (8/5): Ik kom zeker eens terug!

- Pauline (1/5): Disgusting place! Do not go you have been warned! - Nothing It was disgusting! I will upload pictures. Everything had mould, carpets were so dirty I didn’t even want to sit my bag on them. We were put in room 10 first which was just above the ballroom/party room and we wouldn’t have been as well at the party the flood was vibrating! We got moved to room 16 which was slightly better but also disgusting, we wanted to leave so asked for a refund which they said they couldn’t do! As it was October week other hotels were booked up, believe me when I say my husband and I tried lots of other places!
I never leave bad reviews and I don’t mind a lower star rating if it’s at least clean but I was scared I would catch something in here. I can’t add as many pictures as I would like! We had a tv with the Ariel snapped out the back of it so it didn’t work! The remote had a build up of dirt on it and it looked like someone had chewed a few of the buttons! 🤢 we got a couple of bottles of coke from the bar to take to the room and the glasses they gave us were really dirty! Just everything was shocking!
- Lee (10/5): - Exactly what I was looking for, clean & tidy and nice and peaceful. Thanks.
