• Karen (3/5): Up a steep road - Should have been suitable, spacious Not cleaned before we arrived☹️☹️☹️rubbish, unmade beds, wet towels. Hosts uncontactable. Very very disappointing. Up a very steep road and driveway won't suit everybody esp if you plan to walk from the bus stop or train station with luggage
• Wilson (9/5): A beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped home that made our stay truly enjoyable. - We absolutely loved our stay! The house was gorgeous, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The beds were so comfortable, and it had all the amenities we could ask for. It really felt like a home away from home—we’d love to come back! The only downside was the location—it’s a bit far from the train station and the road leading up to the house is quite steep. Not a big issue if you have a car or go by taxi, but worth keeping in mind when planning your stay.
• Elaine (4/5): We definitely wouldn’t of chose this property as the driveway was like climbing Mount fuji, as we didn’t have a car the - It wasn’t as described on the website The property had a very feisty smell as if it hadn’t been used for a while and on opening the toilet door there was a huge centipede 🐛 like creature.the property could do with updating very very tired.

• Bui (3/5): We were very disappointed in our stay. - The decoration and the furniture were nice. There were some basic necessities like dishes and cups and microwave, and a kettle. The air conditioner was not working in one of the bathrooms and we couldnt get a response from the host for hours. Then it turned out that the host knew the air-conditioner wasnt working but didnt tell us ahead of time. Because of this, there was not enough bedrooms for our group and it was one of the hottest days in July. The bathroom on the second floor did not have anywhere for us to wash our hands and we had to go down to the main floor to do that after using the bathroom.
• Grmatrix (8/5): We had a great time at the property . - Great views from the bed rooms’ windows, one bus stop from Hakone yumoto station, large living room. Steep hill to the property. Follow the host advice to take a ( small ) taxi from Hakone Yumoto station to the property when you come with your luggage.
• Jess (8/5): Great place and lots of room for the whole family, not suitable for people with suitcases, struggle to get up the hill - Lovely traditional house Lots of room for the whole family Hot water wasn’t on when we arrived and had a lot of trouble figure out how to turn it on. The single bed mattresses were thin. It’s the steepest hill to get to the house, one of the taxis couldn’t make it up and it’s a long hard walk

• Noppawan (7/5): Good - the house was good, everything in the house is good. owner gave the door code via chat before check in date. the way to get into the house was really hard. we had to climb up the road around 500m to arrive.
• Melanie (9/5): Lovely Japanese house, clean with excellent amenities. About a 10/15 walk from the train station. - Traditional Japanese house with modern conveniences. Clean. Difficult to locate with Apple Maps, didn’t take us far enough. Only about a 10 walk from the centre but the last bit is a very steep walk especially when you’re lugging suitcases.
• Christopher (9/5): Superb - The location was more out of the way than we expected. It's not far from town, but up a significant hill and you need to navigate a single lane road up the hill. Mercifully we didn't run into anyone going to the other way, but we had some close calls.
• Mary (7/5): Very nice home, good value. Had WiFi that worked great and was spacious for 2 families to stay in town together. - It was very clean. Cold and couldn’t figure out the heater/ac unit. One bedroom had no unit in it. Only gave us 4 towels for 8 people staying.
• Kellen (8/5): Great home at a reasonable price, be cautious of the steep hill leading up to it. - The house is a fantastic size and in a quiet neighborhood. They provide everything needed in the kitchen and rooms for a comfortable stay. Plenty of room for a family to move around in. They even have games! I would stay here again (if I had a car). I wish we had known/understood about the large hill leading up to the property before our arrival day. It is long and extremely steep (photo for reference). It has stairs part way, but they weren’t useful when we had suitcases. We walked up/down the hill with suitcases and groceries since we didn’t have a rental car. One member of our party uses a cane to walk and it was particularly difficult for him. As a result, he only left the house once in our 3 day stay. All of this is avoidable if you have a car! Please note the stairs inside do not have a railing either, which only mattered for our guest with the cane. The kitchen knives should also be sharpened, but that was minor.
