Guest Reviews
- Joan (7/5): - Very friendly welcome by bar staff. Nice vibe in pub & good recommendation for breakfast. Bed & bedding uncomfortable. No bedside/table light.
- julie (8/5): -
- candida (7/5): - Great location as a base for our walk on the coast path. Lively pub in the evening with only 3 rooms. Nice beer garden, cheap drinks but no food available from the pub. However, there was a pop-up pizza van in the garden so all good after a long walk! We stayed in the twin room which was very tiny (and hot at night) but newly decorated with a great bathroom and shower. Clean and comfortable for one night. No food available in the morning and no staff until 10am
- Susanne (7/5): - Moderne Dusche.

- Andrea (5/5): We wouldn't return. - The beds are comfortable, easy check in and out. The bathroom appeared freshly decorated. The room was tiny (twin room) and not fit for purpose. The tiny tv couldn't be seen from both beds. There was bits and hairs in the corners of the bathroom.
One bed had a tea tray as it's bedside table, the other bed didn't have one.
It is very noisy, the door to leave slams shut very loudly, which means disturbed sleep. It isn't the London Inns fault, but inconsiderate guests woke us up from 6.40am constantly banging the door and talking loudly outside our room. Maybe a sign asking guests to be considerate would be helpful.
We were disturbed both nights by other guests.
We both believe that the room is overpriced, I have stayed in many places in Braunton and this was disappointing compared to others.
The entrance was messy and didn't create a good first impression.
- Briony (9/5): Friendly generous staff - Wonderful welcome after a long day walking Nothing to dislike
- Sheila (9/5): Excellent value - Beautifully decorated and well equipped. Excellent Value Due to the awful weather we were concerned about them outside stairs.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Amanda (9/5): Good for short stays - A neat and tidy room. Clean and compact. The outside stairs leading up to the room were quite steep, so a little difficult if carrying luggage. Also, there were no windows, which was fine for us, as we were only there over night.
- Kerstin (6/5): -
- Sally (7/5): -
- David (6/5): Clean and functional, but the twin room was too small. The family room was OK. - The place was clean and the bathroom was recently refurbished. The family room had a reasonable amount of space, but the twin room was cramped. It had one small high window that didn’t open, so we slept with the door wedged open for ventilation. There was not enough room for two independent travels (both with rucksacs) to put anything. The bathroom, was clean and modern and had everything you needed, but it was oh so tiny. Given that no breakfast was provided, it was not great value for money.
- Jon (8/5): Great - Lovely clean, modern rooms with a fantastic shower The rooms are quite snug
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Palermo (10/5): The London Inn is a Gem. - All new renewed rooms to a high standard.
Friendly staff. Micheal is a very good host.
The Bar room is popular with friendly locals.
- Alex (6/5): -
- Jane (7/5): -
- Jenny (1/5): Like staying in a cupboard - En suite. Hooks on back of door. Tiny room on corridor. Tiny window high up borrowing light from corridor. Felt like a cupboard. Barely space for luggage. No bedside tables or lamps. Shocking price at £92 for bed only and no breakfast. I’m
- Shaun (7/5): Comfortable convenient and small - The ease of access It was small
- Ian (6/5): - Great location, helpful staff. L No window in room very stuffy.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Nicholas (5/5): Disappointed. - Location was suitable to attend funeral. Rooms much smaller than expected, electric heating in twin room shower area running at maximum and my daughters found it very uncomfortable to sleep.
- Christine (5/5): We liked Braunton & location of London Inn but lack of ventilation would mean we would not return. - Nice staff, very clean & practical Big minus for us all was lack of window & no ventilation
- Steve (10/5): Great location to explore the surrounding area and beaches - Self contained rooms with own access
- Martyn (10/5): - Great location and good communication with the team.
- Steve (10/5): - Nice and modern feel to the rooms very clean and tidy highly recommend if your stopping in the area
- Andrea (9/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): - Clean, good quality bed and bedding, great shower.
Generous tea and coffee and shower wash etc provided.
Clear precise instructions for access and a generally welcoming atmosphere.
We will be back and will recommend to friends, for a odd night stop over visiting family it was ideal.
- Hazel (2/5): Disappointed - Location No windows, quite claustrophobic. Srong smell in the bathroom from drains. Bed configuration not suitable for couples as arranged individually and not able to double up.
- Palermo (10/5): It’s a Gem. - It’s a Gem. The rooms are incredible. Newly decorated contemporary. Bathroom the same. Last night we spent the night in the bar it was karaoke night. The locals were fantastic really good atmosphere. We may have got a little tipsy. Bed was firm. Good nights sleep. Our host Marc was friendly.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Simon (10/5): Very friendly and really good value for money -
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional - Very good stay would book here again
- Lucy (5/5): Passable -
- Lucy (10/5): Lovely rooms - Room was very nice, very clean and bed is comfortable. Lovely bathroom. Great location. Owner/ manager was very friendly to talk to. Would definitely stay at this property again.
- Bunyan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Keryn (9/5): A very comfortable stay. - Marc was very friendly and gave us a very warm welcome. He provided lots of local information about places to eat etc.
The room was lovely, very modern and well equipped with a spacious En-suite bathroom.
We were walking the Tarka Trail and the London Inn is a great place to stop close to the route. Nothing.
- Kerry (8/5): Very good - Whilst the room was small it had everything I needed. The room was neat, decorated and prepared to a high standard and spotlessly clean. I felt very comfortable in my room. It felt strange to not have a window that could be opened and I found the checking in that involved a code and a key to be awkward and confusing. This room did not come with a breakfast option but the location made it easy for me to find something to eat in the morning.
- Bywater (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful staff very helpful brilliant location
- Kirsty (8/5): Very good - Small but perfectly formed. This place was ideal for a 1 or 2 night getaway to surf North Devon.
- Lucas (8/5): Very good -
- Norton (6/5): Pleasant -
- Simon (8/5): Very good - Great location, spotlessly clean Booked 2 rooms. Only one (room 1) had a window.
- Rhiannan (9/5): Superb - Lovely bar. And shower in room Price for the size of room. Beds were low to ground
- Lavinia (8/5): Very good - Good location. Easy parking. Comfortable room, small but good enough for my one night stay. There is nothing negative to say.
- Thomas (7/5): Good - Rooms were small, functional but nicely decorated. All you could expect from rooms above a pub, and gladly at the back of the building, away from the main road. Pricey for the size of the rooms, and nature of the pub, but maybe that's Braunton prices.
- Nicola (10/5): Absolutely lovely - Everything - great venue, great host, great location Only two small improvements are needed, a blind on the small bedroom window and the bathroom mirror light did not switch off. But thank you for a wonderful stay, we'll be back
- Nell (8/5): Very good -
- Grace (7/5): Good - Travelled to Braunton for work and wasn't familiar with the area. Found the London Inn very convenient (beside a public car park with free parking between 1800-0900). Whilst no breakfast facilities, it's just a short walk to a number of very nice specialty coffee shops. Room quite small (which I expected from the description) but nice decor/ clean. Absolutely no noise from the pub underneath either!
- James (7/5): Good value - Good location and value - in the area for a wedding, so did the trick!
- Jason (7/5): Good room at a reasonable price. - Bottles of water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits were nice. The bathroom was clean and the shower, shampoo selection was also very nice. With other hotels charging extortionate holiday maker prices way in excess of £100 per night. This was reasonable and pleasant. I would recommend. Room was very small and there were no windows or ventilation, which to be fair I only noticed due to the unusual hot weather.
- Nigel (6/5): It was ok - Very clean Stairs from outside slippery
Green light in bedroom very bright and lights from the corridor shine into bedroom as no cover over the window
- Steve (8/5): Very good - Amazing use of a very small space, clean & modern, every detail thought of - ideal for an overnighter. The publican was very welcoming, thank you.
- Lorne (10/5): Great location for being in the nearest town to Saunton with some pubs and food options. - Mark made us feel very welcome from the start.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marc (7/5): Good -
- Sixtine (9/5): Superb -
- Colin (9/5): Faultless- comfortable and great value for money - Room was very comfortable great hot shower It was perfect for our stay
- Kieran (9/5): Excellent location and wonderful team who made our stay easy and very enjoyable - Great location and very accommodating team. Access steps are steep and a little uncomfortable with icy conditions
- Dion (8/5): Good location, clean & new - location Single room very small but good value
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed for two nights with our dog Ella who is an English Springer Spaniel and the same breed as the owner's dog. All three of us were extremely well looked after from start to finish. Nothing to dislike - everything was first class.
- Yvonne (7/5): Good - Convenience of location
Spotlessly clean Room a tad small, considering it was classed as a family room
Top of milk each day would have been good
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (8/5): Great overnight stop for walkers - Clean and comfortable friendly pub
- Susan (8/5): Easy access, bonus was pizza van outside, no breakfast available, the shop opp sells breakfast pots - Very clean and tidy, comfortable, everything you needed for a nights stay No window to look out of
- John (4/5): Overpriced tiny room, lucky only one night stay - Location close to South West Coast Path. Clean. Easy access. This has to be the smallest room (room2) I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Single occupancy in a twin room and only just enough room to move around. No space for luggage, no table, no chair. Only heating was the towel rail in the bathroom, room radiator not working. Only a small high level window into the corridor. No emergency instructions or out of hours contact details. Grossly overpriced.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and a comfortable bed and good shower. Has everything you need. Would definitely stay again.
- Peter (3/5): Very clean but smaller than usual with NO windows. Why? - Convenient for town and beach NO WINDOWS!
Noise from air conditioning unit throughout the night.
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Tony (9/5): Just the job! - lovely room with sofa bed as well. Bed very comfortable. Great hot shower just the job after 15 Mike walk! Landlord very friendly he let us eat our fish and chips in the bar area. Great pint from Exeter Brewery. in the morning we ate our bacon baguettes in the lovely south facing beer garden Nothing it was all good
- Giovanni (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (9/5): Superb -
- Justin (9/5): Superb -
- Frazer (8/5): Very good - Good location. Clean room, and well stocked tea/coffee facilities. Spotless en-suite. Nothing, everything was perfect.
- Rebecca (7/5): Good - Location was great
Easy access to room via key locks Having to pay for car parking but the car park is conveniently close by
- Polly (10/5): Very comfortable stay - Beautiful room, very cosy, fantastic shower The stairs to the rooms are quite steep, just be careful when carrying your luggage
- Lawrence (7/5): Ok for a one night only stay. - Convenient, overnight parking 6pm until 8am Kitchen wasn’t open and bsr shut at 9pm
- Julie (5/5): Suitable for my short stay - No breakfast included No information of where to leave key. Relying on guests to use internet mine didn't work.
No one around to ask.
Left it on bed hoping I did right thing.
Welcome pack of where to eat, visit etc would have been useful.
Met needs of short visit but wouldn't attract vacation guests.
Would possibly try larger room if I came again.
Good location, shame no food available, breakfast option would be good.even a simple as a toaster. Or pre pack continental basket.
Needs to inform guests of possible noise from bands when making bookings.
Otherwise ok
- Adam (8/5): Ideal for a short stay in the area - Clean, tidy and fresh Small window on to a corridor
- Lesley (7/5): Three night break to see family - The room and location No milk in room the people next door were very noisy
- Lisa (8/5): Overnight stay. - The room was clean and comfortable, complementary tea and coffee were available. A nice modern room. The green night light was annoying, it made the room really light all night. There was no proper window in the room, just a small window at ceiling height.
- Michelle (6/5): It was adequate. Unfortunately no food in pub as kitchen closed. Landlord did come to say hello - Location, it was perfect for our holiday Unfortunately the previous user had left confetti everywhere. This was not cleaned up. There were a lot of hairs in the bathroom. After dropping our bags off on the first night and placing key back in the box, someone changed the number on the box to the one that opened it. Someone could easily have gone in the room. This was done on the next day too so we took the key with us.
- Kate (9/5): Great value for money, lovely room in a great area! - The room was really cozy and the bed was super comfy! Even though the room was small it had everything you needed! The only thing I’d say was the wifi was a poor but that’s not a massive issue
- Annette (8/5): Comfortable bed and excellent shower. Visiting family so didn't spend much time in the room. - Located in the centre of Braunton. Room clean. Window too high to open, had to balance on upturned suitcase to reach. Noise from pub garden directly below. Would prefer fewer plastic plants etc.to use surfaces for own items.
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (8/5): Nice place to stay for the night! - Lovely hotel room, very clean with smart tv. Decorated very nice. Loved the bottles of water free and tea/coffee. Great location and parking. Family room could have bee a bit bigger but wasn't a big issue
- Yates (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Great location and staff and well worth a visit. - Great location and the Landlord and Staff were lovely. Outdoor area was pleasant and a great sun trap! The room was modern and clean. Shame the kitchen was closed. It did get warm in room2 and there is no window to open. Could do with a fan.
- Pyres (9/5): Superb - The bed, shower, and room as a whole was very nice and the hot chocolate was a nice touch. The fact I could leave and come back whenever felt very nice to have. The TV channels could be more and the walls felt a little thin
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (10/5): We had a wonderful stay at The London Inn, we would especially like to thank all the staff - Very clean and comfortable
Great location
Brilliant staff We couldn’t find any fault with the accommodation at the London Inn
- Jacqui (8/5): Great one night stay at The London Inn. Great location for The South West Coast Path walks. Room lovely & fine for 2 - Clean & newly refurbished. Good shower! No breakfast or hairdryer. Fine for 2 people would have been a real squash for a family.
- Charles (8/5): Very good -
