• den Hartog (10/5): An incredibly delightful stay with a very hospitable host! - Saroja was an incredibly kind and helpful woman! We opted to get dinner with her and she made a wonderfully delicious rice and curry! We felt right at home and we had nice conversations together! If not for our other bookings and shortage of leftover days, we definitely would have stayed more days. Thank you Saroja! It was a small detour to get there because Google Maps did not find the right route, we suggest giving a call to get better directions

Stayed 2 nights, the host was super friendly, helpful and kind, great conversation, delicious dinner and breakfast. Arranged a lovely local man to be my guide for the day, so much fun. • Anthony (10/5): Lovely welcoming host - This home stay exceeded expectations. This family is incredibly welcoming and the host loves befriending and looking after her guests. The home is very comfortable and clean, a garden area with seats to relax and enjoy the scenery. We were cooked a delicious Sri Lankan dinner which was the best meal we have had in Sri Lanka to date. I highly recommend this home stay and the location is perfect when walking the Pekoe Trail. Nothing comes to mind
• Ron (10/5): Top locatie - Wat een fijne plek om te verblijven bij Pekoe Villa Watagoda. Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen voelden we ons welkom. De gastvrouw is ontzettend vriendelijk en doet echt haar best om het iedereen naar de zin te maken. Ze kookt ook heerlijk lokaal eten, precies zoals je het hoopt te proeven als je in Sri Lanka bent. Voor ons was dit het einde van Pekoe Trail stage 5 en de volgende ochtend zijn we hier weer vertrokken voor stage 6, wat deze plek voor ons een hele fijne uitvalsbasis maakte tijdens het lopen van de Pekoe Trail. Dit is echt een ervaring die we als mooie herinnering meenemen aan onze reis. Voor mensen die de Pekoe Trail lopen kunnen we deze accommodatie dan ook echt aanraden. Er viel me helemaal niets tegen, dit was boven mijn verwachting. Bij aankomst / binnenkomst echt direct een thuis gevoel.

• Marta (10/5): - The owner is a very open-hearted lady who will make you feel at home. The dinner she prepared for us was one of the best we've had in Sri Lanka. And the portions were generous. The room was decorated in a very cozy way and it really stood out from most of the places we stayed so far.
• Ravinath (9/5): Would go back for sure. - The stay was really good! Aunty Saroja was such a lovely host and made us the most amazing food. We met her two sons and grandchild as well; made us feel like we were part of the family. Her son Kumar was the one who liaised with us and was always prompt and specific in his replies. If you are planning to trek Pekoe 6 from Watagoda to Kotagala or the other way around, the location is super convenient, maybe just 5 minutes from the start of stage 6; making it the perfect place to either set out early morning (after a thumping breakfast) or to come in after the hike and relax. The bus from Kotagala - Thalawakelle - Watagoda also stops extremely close by. All in all, would recommend wholeheartedly. This has nothing to do with the property but if you're driving, would recommend a narrower vehicle to reach the location. Pekoe villa itself was warm and a home away from home. Would go back without any hesitation.

I had a delicious dinner and breakfast here, my room was comfy, the wifi was strong (had to take a work call) and this was a great place to be for the Pekoe Trail. The neighbours dogs started barking around 2 am. A few signs in the local area would be helpful, to direct to the Villa.

• Carola (10/5): - Tout. L'accueil de la famille était incroyable, nous avons passé un séjour entourés de sourires, de bonne humeur et de bienveillance. La maison est très bien située, proche de la gare de Watagoda, du village, et des plantations de thé, parfait si l'envie vous prend de parcourir une étape du Pekoe Trail. Cet endroit est un petit coin de paradis extrêmement confortable où vous ne manquerez de rien. Il y a même l'eau chaude ! L'hôte est une cuisinière hors pair, elle nous a régalés à tous les repas, et prenait toujours plaisir à partager sa culture avec nous.

We were lucky enough to be here when the two sons paid a visit to there mom (the woman managing this homestay) and we felt like we were part of their family. Very friendly and welcoming. And one of the best sri lankan food we tried, everything is homemade. The bed was good and the place is very quiet, we had a good sleep. Kumar (one of the son), works for hostel so he knows all the little things that make a good stay. You're really 5mn by walk from the railway, which was very convenient for us. Thanks for the hospitality, I hope I may come again

Its a loveble place, it would be nice to be able to use the garden for some leisure...

• Michael (9/5): Superb - This is very special place. It prides itself on being about the experience and is different from a standard generic hotel. You are staying in the family home and you are made to feel part of the family. Usually the hostess will be the mother of the family: she is very friendly and a marvellous cook. The room is comfortable and nicely decorated. On the night we stayed, we were lucky enough to meet other members of the family and enjoyed a lovely evening in the garden, overlooked by the impressive Logan-Smith peak. Nothing really. Just be aware this is a family house and you will be part of the family while you are there. So enjoy the unique experience.

A bit more expensive than other accommodations on the Pekoe Trail. It was also very difficult to find (recommend walking on the tracks and descending down) No wifi (but I think they are working on it)
• Jake (10/5): A beautiful home full of wonderful people - Such a wonderful stay! The family was so welcoming and kind. I actually felt like part of the family and wanted to stay for a long time. The food is all home cooked by the mum and was the best food I've had in Sri Lanka. Couldn't recommend high enough. I hope to be back. Thank you! There is nothing to dislike.

The host is super friendly and kind and made us a fantastic dinner and breakfast! Beds are comfortable, room is clean, and shower has hot water! Really good value for money We liked everything, but the room is quite simple and small so it might not be for everyone’s liking

We stayed with our family and the kids could help a bit in the kitchen and had w quite some fun with it. We also got a small tour through the herbal garden and some insights into Sri Lankan food. Great place to stay when hiking the pekoe trail
