Guest Reviews
- Lianne (7/5): A nice stay for alton towers - Great location and lovely little holiday home with everything we needed for a few days away. Loved how close it was to alton towers. The little details like the football table and Wii were nice. The house could do with modernising a bit but this wasnt a big issue.
The booking process was stressful. The deposit site we had to use got hacked and money was then taken without our consent. This did place a bit of a cloud over our booking.

- Grant (10/5): Fantastic and ideal property- loved our stay - Excellent property, ideal location, spacious, clean, well furnished Nothing - it was fantastic and perfect for the purposes of our stay.
- daniel (8/5): Great location for Alton towers and stoke water park - Easy heating control, property heated up quickly. Fast water flow. Washing machine was a plus after a day at the water park. Kitchen/diner was in general a good size , clean and functional. Master bed comfortable. Quiet street with easy quick access to Alton towers. Nice to see white crisp bedding. Bed in twin room creaked evertime my daughter moved. Needs a bin in bathroom for sanitary rubbish. A problem beyond Control is the dogs barking next door on a Sunday morning or even late at night. Sofa cushions need structure underneath. Letterbox needs a spring as it bangs when windy. We had to put a cloth in it overnight.
- Simon (8/5): - Clean rooms and a clean house.
We really liked the games room, the kitchen area and in general enjoyed our stay! The only thing that was a little on the unlike side, toilet and bathroom were super small.
Some floor boards max need fixing again.
- holly (10/5): Comfy, fun and convenient! - So so clean! Immaculate and had everything we needed. Great location for visiting the theme park Nothing, it was great
- SMITH (9/5): - Was very comfortable, clean and tidy, everything you need, home from home. Could hear the neighbours through the walls, was a battle of the tv volumes.
- Stone (10/5): - Location perfect for visiting alton towers.
Beds where really comfy, house was really clean and met all our expectations. Would definitely stay here again.
- Christina (10/5): Lovely property, well equipped and clean - The property was in a lovely rural area, about 15 mins away from Alton Towers (we were visiting over 2 days from Kent). The owners had provided thoughtful touches, like washing up liquid, a washing machine, kitchen roll and other useful bits (we even found a first aid kit in a drawer!) It was 3 mins away from a little village with a couple of restaurants and pubs, 10 mins away from a city centre with major shopping chains like Tesco, B&Q etc.
The property decor was very chic (LOVE the colour schemes) and kept up to date / clean. There was a lovely garden, great size for kids to kick a ball, foozeball table and a Wii in the conservatory area (that we didn't use, but looked good). Front room was comfortable, with seating easily for 4, dining table off the kitchen could seat 6. Bedrooms were a decent size for a short stay and, although no wardrobes, the owners have provided hangars on hooks, which also work!
The team were lovely and kept in constant contact (I had duplicated emails at one point, they were so on it!) We had a family emergency a couple of days before, which meant I hadn't read my emails, but I phoned Vickie, who was lovely and understood. I had booked a late checkout, which they were happy to accommodate but then got a call from family so had to leave before normal checkout, and they were happy to help. I would 100% recommend Dovetails to any family or couple looking for a romantic retreat (the bedroom was cute!) We had a lovely stay and will rebook next time we visit Alton Towers! There was nothing we would change, the team and property were lovely.
