Guest Reviews
- Ekaterina (10/5): Splendid in all respects - It was on the boundary of Calatayud up against the cliffs. It was a steep climb up from where we could park our car to the apartment - and a bit slippery in the rain. It was perhaps a 5 minute hike uphill. But we had no real problems the host met us and showed us the way. (You will never find it on your own). Extremely quiet. The house itself was a marvel - comfortably warm (it was wintry out during our visit). And the location was very close to a Mudejar church. The kitchen was very well equipped - and there were even cookies provided by the host and there was milk in the fridge. There is a panadaria perhaps 8 minutes walk away - very important in Spain. It was a 30 minute drive to Monastery de la Piedra and a 15 minute drive to La Ciudad Romana. And the old city is well worth a visit as well (churros con chocolate was a treat on a cold afternoon). And a short climb above the apartment gave us a splendid view of ruins on the cliff and storks nesting at sunset. That in itself was worth the visit. About an 18 minute drive away there were some thermal baths that were really great. It was a wonderful visit to Calatayud and the apartment for the 4 of us was well worth the amount we paid. Well, the second bathroom for the bedroom next to the kitchen was down a steep flight of stairs and not on the same level. I am 78 and it was a bit uncomfortable at night. But there was a wonderful shower in that bathroom.
