• Pinar Aslan (8/5): - We booked here, since all the options in the center were bunks, and it was a pleasant surprise! Fernando, the host, is an amazing human being. He greets you with a shot of tawny port (which he makes himself!) and all the info. He speaks Portuguese, Spanish and French, and for the rest, some Google Translate and hand gestures suffice. He constantly has water, tea and coffee available free of charge. He also solves any problems you may have. We were freezing one night and he immediately had the heating on. The room was spacious for 2. The location is a bit far away from the center (on foot), but if you are 2 or more, the ride apps are cheaper than the subway.

• Nathalie (10/5): Agréable séjour dans une maison familiale - Monsieur Fernando, le propriétaire, est une personne très aimable et toujours disponible en cas de problème. La maison et les chambres sont très propres et malgré la salle de bain commune on a été très satisfait et on s’est sentis comme si on venait rendre la visite à notre tonton dans la famille.

Vriendelijke ontvangst met een glaasje port en een kopje koffie . Bij vertrek kregen we ook een glaasje port aangeboden door de zeer vriendelijke beheerder van het hotel

• Vanessa (6/5): Inordnung mit verbesserungspotenzial - Vergleichsweise ist der Preis für die Lage gut. Der Haushälter ist der freundlich und hilft bei jeglichen Fragen. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Man hört die anderen Gäste. Die Gemeinschaftstoilette müsste täglich geputzt werden.

Em dois banhos um deles teve de ser em água fria pois não havia água quente. Paguei mais por uma casa de banho e o que tive foi uma ducha e uma sanita dentro do quarto. Sanita separada apenas por uma cortina de duche.

A casa de banho tinha um cheiro nada agradável, o quarto nem sequer tinha persianas para não entrar claridade.

• Alessandro (9/5): - L'accoglienza di Fernando, super host! Parla senza problema 4 lingue, conosce il territorio ed è attento ad ogni esigenza. Aperitivo con un bicchierino di porto e acqua fresca disponibile sempre. Piccolo cortile in cui ci ha fatto parcheggiare la moto. Il bagno è sul pianerottolo, ma privato e molto pulito, con biancheria e derergenti. Proprio di fronte c'è il centro commerciale per la spesa, con un comodo bar per la colazione (consiglio il jesuita) 😁 Posizione ottima come appoggio per visitare le cantine del porto, la valle del douro e la cittadina di Aveiro. Ma abbastanza lontano dal centro per dormire nella quiete.

• Mjsx (6/5): No soundproof, too bright in the morning - It’s always loud when people come in. Our room is literally next to the main house door. Don’t stay in Room 6. People were singing Indian songs until midnight and got noticeably irritated when you knocked on their door to politely ask them to stop singing—some guests are just downright inconsiderate of others. The room is right next to the main door. Everyone passes by here, and you can hear everything. It’s a house with multiple rooms. Our room had a makeshift shower and toilet covered by a curtain. They gave us Porto wine right when we entered, which was nice. The staff or manager was nice but only speaks Portuguese. There were no instructions at all, and the gate was locked, so we had to call him. What about other incoming guests who can’t make the call? We had to wait a few minutes outside the gate. There’s a nearby supermarket which was nice. You can use the fridge outside, right in the common room with other guests. The manager entered our room with his shoes on. We take off our shoes, so we found his action dirty. There are very bright lights coming from the door because there are holes. There was noise from other guests outside the door in the morning. People were ringing alarms nonstop. They should offer tissue boxes, but none of the hotels in Portugal and Spain we stayed in for two weeks offered tissue boxes. This is always offered in Japan. They did provide free water and coffee.

• Luisa (9/5): Suburban Location - Fernando was very kind. The bathroom was kept spotless. The bed was great and the room clean. Always offering coffee. On arrival a Port . It was far from tourist attractions so without a car one has to Uber or use a taxi. My issue when booking I did not check languages, no English but we managed.

The heat in the room (no fan) and noise of dogs barking throughout the night and a cockerel crowing from 5am made sleeping difficult. It is also on the airport flightpath. Noise of other guests easily transmitted throughout the house.

Terrible really thought at least the manager would be humble, and not lie about what really happened. So, used cigarettes in the drawer which we were accused of leaving them there. Lights went off,.water was cuttoff, we sent a message asking to repair no response, had to solve with booking.

• James (5/5): Constant dog barking - Decent price for a comfortable, clean and spacious room. It was not as easy to get to the city center as I'd hoped. It takes about an hour with public transportation. Fortunately, I had a car. Also, there was nothing Fernando could do about this, but the neighbouring house had a bulldog that barked nonstop day and night. It made it extremely difficult to get uninterrupted sleep. For these reasons, I would likely not go back or recommend the place to others.

• Peetezaah (9/5): Superb - Easy parking, almost in front of a big supermarket and with quick access to the freeway. Great to get a welcome drink. We got fresh towels after the second night. Spacious bathroom and bedroom. It has a big table to have meals in the room and a really big closet. A small fridge in the room would be nice. Most TV channels had issues and the wifi dropped occasionally. Only found decaf capsules for the machine and the room's door made a noise when opening or closing
