Guest Reviews
- Elaine (9/5): Delightful relaxing stay. - Good selection of breakfast food in room. Beautiful crockery. The host was exceptionally hospitable. The room was spacious and well furnished. Interesting, quirky property in very convenient location.
- Paul (10/5): Excellent value for money so close to town. - Homeshare five mins from town centre. Super host. Spacious clean room with comfy bed. Great value for money. Nothing.
- Mehew (7/5): Not for me - Nicely decorated, comfortable, breakfast provisions. Shared bathroom, no handbasin in room, a water bottle to fill kettle would be convenient, chilly in the morning with no electric heater provided.
- Hollie (10/5): Very comfortable, good breakfast basket, fabulous host. - Great location, super-friendly and helpful host, very comfortable room It has a shared bathroom which might not be for everybody but we can’t fault it. We had a really good stay.
- Ian Spray (10/5): - Very nice place and deb was a lovely polite helpful owner
- Supertaff (8/5): Homely stay - Lovely hostess, view over the garden, comfortable bed.
Parked behind up a steep hill for free.

- Melanie (10/5): Amazing, relaxed, calm and restorative - thank you - I had an amazing stay in Llangollen, made so much more special by the stay I had at Hiraeth Homestay, Deb the host was so kind and friendly, all the lovely touches in the room to make it a cosy stay especially the little book called 'Do/Pause' this will stay with me for a very long time. The room was well decorated and calm, the breakfast facilities were perfect, I really liked the breakfast being in my room, I was able to relax help myself to cups and tea and breakfast when I wanted without having to get dressed first!! The home made muesli was so wholesome and tasty with lots of nuts, dried banana and coconut. There was plenty of bread for toast, hot cross bun and fruit - good job I like walking!! The location was excellent right in the centre of all the beautiful hills and escarpment of Llangollen, the beautiful horseshoe falls and the aqueduct which I walk to as part of one of my long walks. I felt like I had gained so much more from the two nights stay at Hiraeth Homestay - Thank you Deb, you made my stay very special x There was nothing I didn't like other than having to leave to go back home!
- Joanna (10/5): - Staying at Debbie’s cottage was an absolute pleasure. Debbie is one of the loveliest, most welcoming hosts I’ve ever met, and her sweet dog adds even more warmth to the experience. From the moment you arrive, you feel genuinely cared for.
The cottage itself is beautiful — a traditional, old-style home full of character, charm, and peaceful energy. It’s wonderfully quiet, with a calming view that makes you instantly relax. The garden is one of my favourite parts; it’s so well kept, full of life, and the perfect place to unwind.
Breakfast was another highlight. The options were healthy, fresh, and very thoughtfully prepared, which made the mornings feel extra special.
Debbie and her dog create such a friendly, homely atmosphere that you can’t help but feel comfortable. I truly loved my stay and would happily return anytime. Nothing
- Tom (8/5): -
- Leisa (10/5): Enjoyable stay - great host who ensures everything is just right. Highly recommend. - Great location - centrally located. Easy check-in. Thoughtful touches in the room - radio, great selection of books, orchids and great breakfast options in the room. Cosy and quiet. Nothing
- Henry Grant (9/5): Good value and spotless boutique b&b - Spotlessly clean and very well presented, with the owner giving a lot of thought to the needs of guests. Good communication and excellent breakfast in the in-room fridge including home made muesli. Shared bathroom on another floor, although I experienced no problems.
- Julie (9/5): Deb was a lovely hostess so warm and friendly, gave us some advice on where to eat . Great value for money and would def - Very homely and very central to everything.
- Janice (8/5): We were made to feel very welcome and would certainly stay again. . - Deb could not have been more helpful right from the start with tips and suggestions about the locality and even sent me a helpful message after we had left. Her directions and instructions to and about the property were spot on. The room and the bathroom were spotless and although it was very warm there was a fan in the room. The one thing I had to ask for was provided straight away. Although the bathroom was shared there were plenty of toiletries available for use. I would have appreciated knowing at the time of booking that the breakfast items would be just in the room rather than being in a dining room of some sort but having said that, what was provided was fresh, varied and sufficient.
Also, and this is not a criticism because it wasn’t a problem for us, it might be helpful for some people to know that the two flights of stairs are quite steep.
- Amy (9/5): Deb was really welcoming and the room was lovely, with a view of the garden. -
- Flavia (8/5): Comfortable and adequate - Central area accommodate adequate for what we wanted, pleasant host Shared bathroom
- Robert (10/5): Deb was an excellent host, very helpful and provided me with some local tourist information. - A variety of cold breakfast choices in the room which has its own fridge. Very central to town and my room at the back was very quite. Shared bathroom on another floor - but I knew that before I booked.
- christopher (10/5): Perfect 100% Happy - The host deb is one of the most polite, welcoming host i've ever met ! What nice place, will be calling back 100% for sure !
Many thanks Nothing my stay was perfect
- Kathleen (10/5): -

- Virginia (8/5): We had a lovely time and we would definitely go back - Deb is a lovely host, very attentive. The room is lovely with a beautiful garden view. Bigger bed
- neil (8/5): -
- george (8/5): Just the job. - Quite. Nothing
- Cheryl (8/5): Lovely host, great breakfast and warm and cosy. -
- Nick (10/5): Warm and welcoming - Deb was a brilliant host. Really accommodating as I was arriving late. The house is cosy, warm and comfortable. It was lovely to speak with her in the morning for recommendations of the local area. I will definitely be returning! Everything was brilliant
- Chantelle (9/5): Booked for my mum and she loved it -
- Bethany (10/5): Lovely and comfortable. - It's a lovely place. The room is beautiful and very comfortable in a house full of character. Deb, the host, is very friendly and helpful.
- Jacqueline (5/5): Could be better - Location was good - views of the garden were good and the house had a nice ambience to it. Rooms were clean and serviceable. Host was very pleasant. What we didn't like was the lighting in the room was dark and dim especially when getting ready to go out. The stairs to the bedroom were very steep - there was two sets of them and narrow. Bathroom was shared which is ok but on the lower floor not on the same level. There was no running hot water in the bathroom - although there was hot water in the shower. Access is up a dark alleyway to the front door with no security lights and the actual locks of the door two of them were awkward to use. On entering the building the door space is the foyer and you have to access the stairs to close the door. We had been out one day and on returning someone had left a key in the lock so we couldn't get in. We heard the key being removed but saw noone. Made us feel like intruders. Breakfast was in your room - fridge toaster and crockery all provided daily by the host - however we had to request which cereal we wanted as a choice was not provided - the yogurts provided were long life and am allergic to them so they were taken away but not replaced - although fresh fruit and chocolate was provided. There is no running water in the bedroom or water facility except a kettle - no facilities for hygiene either in the room. Fairly basic offering considering the price of room - we could of camped for less money with access to better facilities.
- Eirwen (8/5): -
- Benjamin (10/5): So good. - We loved this place. The owner Debs is a diamond.
- Dawn (10/5): A tranquil setting - Deb is an excellent hostess. The accommodation is homely and inviting. It felt like I was visiting a friend. Deb thinks of all the little touches to make your stay complete. The lavendar scented room and the view of Deb's lovely garden make breakfast by the window a perfect start to the day. Highly recommended. Thank you Deb. It was perfect.
- Cherie (8/5): Lovely stay excellent value for the money - Very comfortable bed
Lovely view into the garden
Good location Lack of private bathroom
Noisy fridge 😂
Need more butter
No TV in room
- Layton (10/5): - Deb was friendly and the house was beautiful. My bed was so comfortable best sleep in ages.
- Chris (10/5): -
- Peter (9/5): - Comfy bed great radio.no tv and location For me the shared bathroom was not a problem and it was clean. For others use to en suite bathrooms they may react negatively.
- Garmon (10/5): -
- Craven (10/5): Relaxing stay - Lovely feel to the room with a fantastic view down to the garden below. Everything we needed in the room. Perfect
- Dale (9/5): - Lovely house near the town centre and very friendly host Deb, couldn't do enough for me! Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Llangollen! Good value for money!
Nice room with a fridge and a view into the garden. Nothing to dislike.

- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - The room was lovely and spacious. Owner couldn't have been more obliging Nothing negative
- Sandra (9/5): Superb - Deb was a really nice and helpful host.
The room was clean (also the shared bathroom) and had a view over looking the garden.
For breakfast tea, toast, muesli and more was there.
I would highly recommended her place.
You just should not have a problem with narrow staircases. But even my large suitcase made it up there. 😉
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Very warm welcome, and although the house is on the A5 in Llangollen, the room was at the top of the house, quiet and very clean.
The room was lovely. The host couldn't have been kinder. There is no on suite, but the shared bathroom wasn't a problem, .
The stairs could be difficult for some.
- Arthur (10/5): Ideal overnight stay - Debs was a really welcoming host and was so helpful and informative before our arrival. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and clean, really comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed including breakfast. Location was ideal right in the centre of Llangollen with parking option right opposite at just £8.00 for 24 hours. Would highly recommend and will definitely booking again if we go back to Llangollen.
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Great Host, made me feel really welcome - Everything Nothing
- Laura (10/5): Great location, lovely home and a very welcoming host! - Having facilities to make tea and toast in your room is a lovely touch - and a welcome one after a late night.
- Trevor (8/5): Very good - Lovely room with nice view. Breakfast was provided for me to prepare in the fridge. I knew it was a shared bathroom, but I would have preferred it on the same level. The key to getting in my room was in a safe lock. It wasn't easy to open the front door, especially when I first arrived. There's not much room to get your hands in the turn the key.
- Craven (10/5): Home from home - Lovely warm welcome off, Debbie. I'd spoken to her a few times before my arrival and she went above and beyond. Recommended places to park and looked up alternative accommodation as she was booked up. Lovely touches in the room. Everything had been thought of.
- Donna (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Lovely, relaxing stay with a very friendly and kind host - Lovely breakfast, homemade granola, tea, coffee, toast and fruit
The stay was lovely and much nicer, cosier and well decorated than I would have expected for the price point
- Gwendolyn (9/5): Superb - I had to change my bike packing plans last minute and Deb very kindly offered me a beautiful room with a view over her garden. She's a lovely host with a warm heart & genuinely interested in her guests.
The literature in the room was just what I needed after a challenging day. A great place to recharge & to return to. I could also store my bike in her garden.
Breakfast was all provided in the room. The shared bathroom requires a bit of flexibility in the morning but nothing that's not insurmountable.
- Eliet (9/5): Superb - Deb was a lovely host - made me feel massively welcome and ensured I was perfectly set up in the room. Would definitely recommend the place for a weekend trip.
- Stephen (10/5): Lovely stay at the Hiraeth Homestay. - Lovely one night stay at Hiraeth Homestay. My room and bathroom were spotless, complimentary items for breakfast, and the host was welcoming and friendly. Great location too! Nothing to dislike.
- Sarah (8/5): A perfect base for the Llangollen walks - Deb was really responsive before I arrived, and gave me clear details where to park and how to access the property
I used the Co-op car park just down the road and paid online via JustPark which was easy to use. £6 for 48hrs
The room was beautifully decorated and clean. Everything was as advertised with a view of Deb's beautiful garden.
I walked the Llangollen round (35 miles). When I got back, Deb ran a bath for me which was very thoughtful, and she booked me in for brunch at a local café.
A lovely stay xxx

- Chris (9/5): Superb - A friendly welcome on arrival. My room was lovely, with its own fridge, kettle and toaster, and equipped with fruit, muesli and crumpets. Although it was a very cold night, the room was warm enough and the bed was luxuriously warm and comfortable. Would definitely stay again in the future. Nothing to dislike. A lovely homestay accommodation.

- Afreen (3/5): I didnt like it - The room was big and beautiful The heater was off the entire night bad breakfast facility i stated there 2 nights both the nights the heater was off and washroom was on first floor while the room on second no hot water in wash basin very bad
- Mr (9/5): Superb - Debs was so friendly and helpful. Even rang me when I had just arrived in Llangollen and said she'd pop the kettle on and make us a cup of tea as we got to the property.
She then gave us advice on where to visit during our stay before showing us our lovely room. My partner absolutely loved the decor and charm of the house.
Everything we needed was in the room, including some snacks and stuff for breakfast. Lack of a TV was not a problem for us at all and the bed and duvet were so comfy that we both slept really well.
The location is perfect for exploring what Llangollen has to offer. Nothing at all to not like. An ensuite bathroom would have been nice but certainly didn't affect our stay.
- Lynda (9/5): Superb -

- Jonathan (8/5): Beautiful character home that was clean, warm and comfortable. - It’s a very beautiful home in a super convenient location. Deb was extremely helpful - even keeping an eye on the weather forecast for me and providing information about the local area and transport etc. I would have liked the option of a cooked breakfast, but on the other hand it was very convenient to be able to eat (toast, muesli and fruit) in the room at whatever time I wanted.

Debs was also such a friendly and good person we really enjoyed our stay. A small coffee table in our room would have made brekfast a little easier
- Richard (10/5): A good experience - would recommend - Nice big bedroom overlooking garden and centrally located in Llangollen. Great to have tea, coffee, museli, fruit, milk, bread and butter/jam. Didn't bother me that the bathroom was below the bedroom. Deb, the host, was friendly and communicative. Nothing comes to mind.
