At first, we were placed in a room that reeked of paint due to painting on that floor. Once we were moved to a new room, the shower water was cold in the evenings around 6–7 pm and again in the early mornings around 4–5 am.

- Vasintha (8/5): It was an enjoyable one night stay to celebrated my wife's birthday. - The supper at the hotel resturant was definitely not up to standard. We had supper at the Brasserie resturant on the 16 May 2016. At that stage, about 8.15pm, there were no more than 3 tables occupied. The meal took over 1 hour to reach the table. We had to ask the staff what the delay was. Eventually when the meal did reach the table it was definitely not up to standard. A catch of the day salmon and yellowtail was frozen. That's why the meal took that long to reach the table. The veggies was also undercooked and hard That night I wrote a negative response on the meal we received. The next morning, at breakfast, the Sous Chef Malcolm approached us and apologized for the quality of meal we received. We appreciated his approach and professionalism in handling the complaint. I remember telling my staff that all organisation's make mistakes. How quick and efficiently you respond to the mistake/query is how you will be judged. The Edward kitchen staff responded in a very quick, efficient manner. Even though we did not want a replacement meal, the Chef cooked a meal and gave it to us as we left after breakfast. Even though this started off as a negative experience, the manner in which The Edward responded to my complaint is under the section What did you like. I also have to mention the cocktails served at the Edward Restaurant. We are fortunate to travel around the country and with God's grace been overseas quite a few times as well. We make it a habit to taste the cocktails at all restaurants we visit. The cocktails served by The Edward Restaurant are some of the best we tasted. The presentation, taste and the price pushed it right to the top. I even took the time to compliment the Barman on the cocktails he prepared. I would encourage everyone, even if they do not stay at The Edward to experience their cocktails.

- Red Zanmenou (5/5): - Location I was on a business call in the morning and the cleaning staff was shouting and calling each other so loud that I was disturbed and worse my room was the first one on the passage in front of an elevator, so everyone coming out and talking passing by my room I could hear them😢, they don't have microwaves in their rooms and they also don't offer the service to warm your meals in their kitchen that was really bad and unfair to the guest.

- Priscilla (10/5): Our stay was great! - One of our rooms was standard, but we could see the beach. The room was great for the price, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was filled with a variety of things; it was hard to choose because all our faves were there. We really enjoyed our stay at the Edward Hotel. I had no bad experience, so there's nothing to dislike.

This hotel represents exceptional value for money. Noise levels at night outside the hotel could be a problem for some with rooms facing the main road.
