• Trina (8/5): Good location in Malia - Spacious, clean and quiet apartment with a balcony. It is on a main road within walking distance to good restaurants and shops.

A two minute walk to the beach and across the street from a free pool (you pay to use the slides)n, you can also use the free pool of a hotel behind you, which is next to the beach!! Good restaurants nearby too. Great value for the money!

• Guest (10/5): Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit und haben die herzliche Gastfreundschaft sehr genossen! - Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und halfen bei jedem Anliegen sofort. Es herrscht eine herzliche Atmosphäre, Reinigung top. Tolles Apartment mit zwei Balkonen, Küche normal ausgestattet. Safe und Klima gibt es auch. Supermarkt gegenüber. Der Sonnenuntergang ist wunderschön dort! Die Matratzen waren leider nicht für mich gemacht, ich spürte als Doppelbett leider den Übergang. Habe ich aber vor Ort auch nicht kommuniziert - somit mein Fehler :) Ich würde sehr gerne wiederkommen! Die Kochplatte ist verrostet, dafür war die Pfanne neu, was ich toll fand. Die Dusche ist etwas klein und das Bad ist je nach Person etwas nass. Gemessen an dem Positven aber eigentlich unwichtig. Man duscht ja nicht ewig :)

The apartments are very close to the sea, the room was cleaned every day, there is also a supermarket across the street and a lot of restaurants and cafes, everything is within walking distance

• Mitchell (9/5): Superb - Location and good comfortable beds. I booked a double bed room and in the end received room with only single beds. They fixed it by putting a topper over two single beds joined together. Still not the room I booked on booking.com, but they mentioned they didn't receive it like that from booking. So I don't know if it was their end or a mistake from booking. But they did their best to solve it as best as possible.
• Gudrun (10/5): Exceptional - Great little place, very clean and best of all you can use the pool next to the beach of la playa hotel. Great deal. The street is not very busy so no worries about noise. The owner is very friendly he called his son who could speak English to answer our questions.

Would not recommend this property! - The color enhanced photos posted by this property on Booking.com Had to find another place after the first night. The owner did try to give us other options (another room, a room in another hotel owned by him), but, judging by the state of the room (bathroom especially), we refused. We did not want to risk losing more time from our vacation on other rooms managed by the same owner/company. Not sure where the positive reviews on Booking.com come from... because: - Noise from constant traffic on the street, even with doors closed. Thin walls between rooms too. - The bathroom was disgusting: the toilet seat was stained... not sure what those stains were and I do not want to know! ... the photos attached here look better than in reality. A bit of context for the very low score given: We do acknowledge that this was a non-refundable booking, but this should not be an excuse for property owners to neglect their properties in such a way! We only told the owner about the noise. We hoped to see at least part of the money back without escalation. We got a little part of the money back from Booking after showing them the photos with the toilet seat (after some longer discussions with them and with the owner), but nothing from the owner. From what I understand, Booking.com talked to the owner, but there was a meeting within the company that managed the hotel, and the outcome was: no refund because we refused the alternatives. We talked to the owner via WhatsApp, but after sending him the pictures with the bathroom and asking to reconsider and give us part of the money back, he stopped answering. Just launched a complaint with the European consumer protection service... with little hope. Maybe the owner can use the money he got from us to at least buy another toilet seat.
• Usman (7/5): Good, but can be improved. - The owner was honest and decent, better then most people in Malia. Also I liked the 2 balconies and day beds in the kitchen. I hated that I was given a single bed when I booked a dubble bed. Also there was no WiFi in the bedroom. So I ended up moving to the day beds.

• Anna (7/5): A little outdated, but acceptable for a moderate price - Location close to a very good beach, opportunity to use sunbeds and umbrellas by the seaside and by the pool from the nearby hotel. Good value for money. Two spacious balconies. Apartments equipped with all basic utensils that you might need during the vacation. A big supermarket right next to the apartments. Also close to all restaurants and clubs, but not too close - we were not disturbed by the noise during the night. Poor and not stable wifi connection, especially from the bedroom. Very small shower even for a medium sized person. The double bed was in fact not double but two small beds with a space between them filled with some blanket. Quite hard mattresses to sleep on, but that really depends on what type of mattress you prefer.

• Lajos (9/5): Overall I liked the accommodation, would go again. - Very friendly host. The apartment is cleaned daily, the whole place is very clean. Small shower. The air conditioning is only in one room, so it was very cold here to keep the other room cool. There were no other problems.

• Tiziana (9/5): Excellent stay in Malia - Easy and friendly place, close to the beach, shops, restaurants and all services. Quiet place though in the tourist area. Good wifi and kitchen equipment. Convention with nearby hotel for sunbeds etc. The owner was very kind and helpful: they organised my transfer from the airport, changed immediately the kettle (not working) and me to check out a little later. A small detail: shower curtain, not very practical.
