Guest Reviews
- Santhi (8/5): - Location Broken tiles in the toilet, wastemanagement
- Jo (6/5): -
- Luke (10/5): Very peaceful and cozy. - Nice clean, beautiful views facilities were top notch There’s not much nearby so it would be nice if they had a proper shop on sight that dosent close so early on.
- Stella (8/5): - Hatalmas volt a szállás, nagyon kedves volt a személyzet. Egy méhészet is van a közelben A vízforraló penészes volt, nem volt étterem a közelben, ahova nem kellett volna előre bookolni. A benti medencét 1 órát lehetett igénybe venni.
- kirsty (1/5): - The location and views
How the activities are free The bedding was dirty we come home with bites and rashes, the place it self was dirty too
And we seen the cleaning in there before we booked in , so very disappointing we been once wanted to come back ...
The beds was so uncomfortable we just thought it was in the mannor so booked the farm house and they was worse,
We moved the sofa to sleep on that and under that was messy, we was coming back but definitely never again
No pub no food located on site ..
- Vasile (10/5): - I like for make a restaurant.
- Katherine (9/5): Excellent, peaceful surroundings, great views over Tarrenhendre, southern snowdonia. - Views just immediately relax you. Bracing outdoor pool - wonderful swims surrounded by birdsong. Indoor pool great too. Teens enjoyed the golf daily - again spectacular views. Spacious accomodation, all you need. Walks from doorstep - Including Tarrenhendre. We enjoyed our visit.

- Judy (5/5): - The location. The apartment size, very nice furniture - comfy beds & balcony with lovely view. Generally very comfortable..Loved the sauna in apartment! The condition of apartment was very poorly maintained. Broken tiles in the bathrooms, stains on ceilings Downstairs toilet floor had broken tiles & appeared to be rotten under foot(certainly moving,)!Broken glass on balcony. Tin full of cigarette butts. Bathroom overflow was filthy! Lovely swimming pool but ceiling & walls were clearly years old & needing to be fully restored/ redecorated as was the apartment. The sauna by the pool was out of action & apparently was last year.
- Helen (4/5): Disappointing stay - the location and local area were beautiful. The kitchen equipment was acceptable. the mansion smelt musty and the apartment very dated. Carpets need replacing, bathroom very slippy and bed uncomfortable.
- William (7/5): - Value for money and location Dated. Needs modernising and the spa needs repairs
- Debasish (9/5): -
- kaur (5/5): - Lack of cleanliness
- Pat (3/5): Car was essential - Location excellent except there is no bar or restaurant and as fairly isolated need to go prepared Run down and worn and dated. No bar or restaurant no facilities to buy foodstuffs. Few staff. No manager.
- Michalczuk (8/5): Amazing place for a break with family. The resort offers outdoor and indoor swimming pools, gym, tennis court and lots m - Very comfortable apartment with a beautiful views.
- Julita (8/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Fabulous - The location was amazing. Beautiful views. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great amenities. Would definitely stay there again.
- Vishal (6/5): Good location and spacious rooms, but the property is dated, poorly maintained, and not good value for money due to must - Good location surrounded by nature and the rooms are spacious. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna in main reception. And sauna in one of our bathrooms was added extra. However, the property feels dated and in need of refurbishment. Carpets were visibly dirty and the rooms had a musty smell. Furniture is worn, with dining chairs showing peeling fabric and stains on carpets. Overall, the standard does not reflect the price charged.
- Mandeep (10/5): - Everything was soo good specially the location amd the view from my banglow Everything was good just one thing was problem on the first day of stay wifi was not working we even contacted reception regarding this issue they said it will get sorted by next day and tbh in morning technician came and sorted the issue
At the end i am happy
- Mathew (5/5): -
- Valerie (4/5): -
- Joanne (9/5): Lovely stay - Lots of room and beautiful scenery. We stayed in a 3 bed apartment, the facilities were excellent even had a sauna in one the bathrooms. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the surroundings. A little dated in places.
- George (10/5): Excellent staff, great facilities, a fair price for nice accommodations. Great for families. - Great property, a little dated, but still very nice rooms. No complaints
- Steve (6/5): Disappointed overall as we not compensated for lack of facilities or defects in our accommodation. - It was clean and spacious. Shortly before our stay we were informed there were no restaurant and bar facility was not available. This was inconvenient as the accommodation was self catering so no opportunity to relax and eat a hot meal on site after a long travel to wales. The facilities were a factor in booking this site.
2 radiators did not work ( bathroom and living room). We reported it and they got one working. No working towel rail in bathroom.
- Claire (9/5): Wales at its best.. - Plenty of space for group of 3, everything we needed for our long weekend stay. Superb views, well kept grounds & a bonus to have swimming pool, spa & steam room. Friendly efficient staff.
- Martin (9/5): -
- Sherin (10/5): -
- peter (10/5): Fab staff, location & facilities - Plenty of space lovely outlook lots of bathrooms beautiful wildlife amazing facilities Not much, too many doors is the only thing
- Louise Mainwaring (8/5): Better than I thought - The setting is beautiful, and despite the negative reviews I was pleasantly surprised at how good the accomodation was.
We stayed in one of the bungalows, and yes the decor is a bit dated and tired, but it was clean. I was worried about cleanliness after reading some awful reviews, but I needn't have worried, it was fine.
The mattresses were of good quality and very comfortable. The bedding was crisp and white. Overall I was very happy with the accomodation.
My daughter, who had the bungalow next door had a problem with her shower and it was attended to and fixed straight away. Great service.
My two daughters had Spa treatments and said they were really good and very reasonably priced too. There was a mild musty smell in the bungalows. This isn't good.
The resort would benefit from a restaurant or at least somewhere to buy food, as it is a quite a way out from Machynlleth town (approx 10 miles away)
- Lucas (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Amazing place if your in the area this is the place to be - Everything Nothing everything was great
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Chris Osborne (8/5): Mach Comedy Fes place to stay. - Well designed, spacious accommodation. Great bathrooms. Lovely view of sheep, lambs & pheasant in field behind. Swimming pool was ok for early morning swims. EV charging not too expensive. Internal recycling bins don't match recycling outside bins; just needs 2 extra bins inside.
- Evangellick (5/5): Loved the location shame about their WiFi and the consequent Pain in the Harris that it caused. - mostly pleasant experience, location beautiful, quiet off season stay that the price reflected. Spending hours to connect to internet that was unusable. I raised this at reception and was given a tip that didn't help or resolve the issue. I went back and spent another wasted hour trying in vain to get the Wifi to grant an address to my laptop, or any of the 4 phones that I happened to be carrying with me. It is clear that there was a problem with their WiFi and there was no one either willing or capable of dealing with the problem on site. So it was use my 4G broadband connection on the phone at personal cost.
- evans (10/5): Apart from the beds in would recommend this place for a lovely get away - Everything it was beautiful 😍 stunning views and lots to do or just enjoy a relaxing time
Lots of space indoors and outside to enjoy The beds in the mannor was extremely hard and very uncomfortable, to the point it put us off staying again, the sofa bed was no better and the sofa had seen better days. The room needed updating
No food available at the property.. no fans on hot days
- Mary (7/5): -
- Clanny (1/5): - Nothing Very rude staff
- Jade (9/5): Really peaceful and enjoyable. - Happy with location. A little remote which is what I wanted. Short drive to a beautiful beach. Surrounded by nature and beautiful mountains. The WiFi wasn’t good the week I stayed. They did explain they were having an unusual issue that was being investigated.
- Mariusz (9/5): -
- Natalie (9/5): Thank you for a wonderful family holiday - We had a wonderful stay as a family (older kids) for 4 nights. The accommodation was spacious and well equipped. We loved being on different levels and the views were beautiful. The facilities exceeded our expectations; swimming indoor and outdoor, steam room, jacuzzi, tennis & pitch n putt - all free and easy to use. All staff were incredibly friendly & helpful! We arrived earlier than check in and were given keys. Excellent value for money. We would definitely recommend the resort. Nothing
- FERNANDO (10/5): It was a lovely enjoyable stay for us n the kids. - The views, the facilities and the calmness. Was clean and up to very good standard. Whole family enjoyed the quiet and lovely times. There isn’t anything to say about not liking, but prefer they gave more information about the facilities prior to our arrival.
- Nikki (3/5): Very disappointing and poor value - The view Way too hot - heating on full on hottest day of the year and stifling in the room - windows couldn’t be opened because of smoke coming in from bar customers
Room very tired and in massive need of refurb - shabby furnishings and a staff whilst initially attentive left us to cope with the searing heat - im asthmatic so it was a big issue for me
- Amy (10/5): - The location of the accommodation and the price I paid was fantastic.
- Leah (10/5): -
- Maria (10/5): -
- Charlotte (6/5): Fab location, staff and facilities available made it worth it. Accommodation clean but needs so much work to bring it u - Beautiful location, absolutely stunning views. Very old and tired, smell, moths eating away at carpets and flying around. Understand this resort is up for sale, so explains the lack of upkeep, although I can see care is taken with the bedding and towels etc. Could be an amazing place with a few £ spent on it! But yes I would return for a short break.
- Helen (5/5): -
- Zohaib (4/5): Reception staff was excellent and their service was excellent. - Location and scenery is beautiful … I booked 3 apartments. We had cleaning problems. There were hair every where on the sofas, carpet and wash rooms. One of the apartment toilets didn’t have cold water supply. Upstairs room was very smelly and electric heaters were old and when you turn those On, a weird smell make hard even to breath in Apartment.
In One of our apartment, we had someone in the back yard late night and even left one shoe of his trainers in there.
- Vanessa (8/5): Wonderful location - Wonderful location. It was a little bit tired. The apartments are in need of updating.
- Hackett (6/5): Amazing location - Location! The location is amazing and is what this property is all about. Set within beautiful countryside on the edge of a village with lots of history. Lovely walks on your doorstep and just sitting in the property there are fabulous views all around. Stayed with family and there was plenty of room. Parking right outside the door. You do need a car to get to any shops or explore the area but there is a lot to see/do around this part of Wales. I used the indoor pool daily. Other facilities on site such as the golf and playground make it a great choice for families with children. The village was a short walk down the drive and is beautiful. The pub was lovely and the food looked good but not served all the time so do check. The sign as you turn into the drive describes the accommodation as ‘luxury’ the two bungalows we stayed in were definitely not this. Quite dated and in need of repair, decoration, new furniture. Layout was better in one bungalow than the other but furniture bulky, dark and not the most comfortable. Settee well worn with a dip so not comfortable. Rather like visiting the home of an elderly relative. Steps into bungalow quite steep so if you select bungalow due to access because to ask for one without these steps. Check in wasn’t until 5pm and check out a strict 10am which is unusual when booking via Booking.com also meant issues identified upon accessing the property could not be addressed that day. There are no shops nearby and food was not available on site or in village pub, so if travelling do take food.
The outdoor pool was supposed to be open for use but looked like it had not been cleaned ready for use. Indoor pool was lovely but too many unsupervised or inadequately supervised youngsters made it unpleasant at times, eg jumping in despite signs to the contrary, splashing, shouting, bouncing tennis ball off the walls etc Maybe parents should be in the water supervising at all times?
Fortunately I always travel with a pillow and couple of soft fleece blankets which I used. Cleanliness - especially in bathroom. Upon arrival place smelt very musty and was cold. One heater needed attention - very old and controls loose/broken. On moving inside a strong smell of urine came from bathroom. After using cleaning products brought with me there was some improvement but the next day I bought additional cleaning and air fresheners - the bathroom was in need of repair and decoration.
With some updating this place could be amazing.
The facilities and location are good - location outstanding. But if I were to stay again I’d def arrive better prepared.
- Newiss (7/5): I enjoyed it - Bu7ngalows were spacious and well equipped if a little dated. Somewhere on site to get meals
- Marta (9/5): -
- Richard (6/5): Beautiful location good facilities, properties need a refurb - Beautiful location, good facilities, well-kept grounds, helpful staff The property we stayed in needed a refurb and looked nothing like the photos. The carpet had holes in and was tired.

- Michelle (8/5): -
- Mohit (9/5): -
- Beth (8/5): -
- Guest (9/5): -
- Clare (4/5): Disappointing and vaguely gross. - There was a carpet in the room, a woollen blanket on the end of the bed and cushions with wool cushion covers on top of the pillows. I can't imagine these are washed after every occupant and it grossed me out. Two of the curtains were ripped at the top meaning it was hard to close them properly to gain privacy. The pool was very small and only had 2 changing rooms and 2 showers. As swimming was set in hourly slots all facilities were needed by everyone at the same time. The reception staff, though polite, didn't crack a smile. It is a very big resort and felt very impersonal.
- Fiona (9/5): Lovely location but you need a car - Quiet location, spacious accommodation No restaurant open on the site.
- Rachel (9/5): Excellent stay, far exceeded expectations - The place was amazing. Great location, lots of things to do and staff on arrival were friendly and informative. The rooms were clean and spacious, much better than expected.
The facilities onsite were great and we didn't get chance to do them all. Certain areas are a bit dated, could do with a slight uplift around the place.
- Muddaser (10/5): -
- Ian (10/5): Perfection. - We stayed in the old mansion house. The apartment was absolutely beautiful, spacious, very comfortable, warm and equipped with everything needed. The views of the mountains from the window were amazing. The location and area is breathtaking, the whole site was clean and perfect. There was nothing to dislike, I don’t understand the negative reviews on here and we will definitely be going back. As soon as we got home we wanted to be back there and started thinking about and planning our next visit.
- Anne (10/5): Good overall - Very clean, good facilities and many things for children to do. Location is 10 mins to town centre and 10 mins to beach. Leisure centre isn’t the cleanest. Sauna not working. Steam room dirty.
- Mandy (10/5): Beautiful getaway, if you want to unwind and connect with nature this in the perfect place - The views were stunning, catching the sunrise every morning was phenomenal. Staff friendly and cute homely pub on the grounds Cleanliness could be improved
- Khei Jazzle (10/5): -
- Estelle (1/5): - Terrible place. We booked 3 apartments over christmas and all were filthy. Mould in the fridge, toilet stained with excrement, shelves dirty and one apartment had lots of tiny dead flies in all the rooms. Our apartment was absolutely freezing and was until the next day when the room heaters had warmed up. Receptionist was rude and unhelpful. We tried to check in an hour early as my daughter had a 7 hour journey but she wasnt interested. We complained and sent 3 emails with photo evidence, rang 3 times but nobody got in touch to discuss. This is how we were treated. I cpuld only upload 4 photos but had many more. Avoid if possible. Everything
- Suzanne B-Watts (10/5): Great location, loved the friendly staff and wonderful facilities. - The pool was amazing, with jacuzzi and steam room. I found the facilities spotless and a wonderful environment to relax in. Towels were provided and were a great size. There was a lot to do on site. We are in our 70's and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but there was just as much appeal for families. A cafe, shop or restaurant on site would have been a bonus.
- Beeson (4/5): Lovely views but properties need updating - Good quiet location with lovely views. Close to main road and shops, but still feels remote. The bungalow we stayed in was very rundown and dirty. There were used matchsticks behind the sofa, the bathroom was filthy, and there was mould above the windows. The toilet also leaked on flushing which made the property feel very unclean.
- Davina (8/5): -
- Ann (8/5): Nice stay. - The views were amazing. The staff were really friendly. Some parts of the resort needs to be updated but the bungalow was really comfortable. Overall had a really nice stay. Shame the restaurant wasn't open but that was because it had just been taken over. Some other holiday lets needed updating and it made it look a bit unloved but the bungalow we stopped in was fine.
- Debi45 (10/5): - It's set in beautiful grounds, the staff are lovely, the rooms are large, spacious and well equipped. Could do with a restaurant or the bar serving food
- komalpreet (10/5): -
- Florentin (9/5): - The complex is wonderful and the flat was superb! We even had a private sauna in the one of the bathroom!😁 The restaurant was close so we had to drive to nearest restaurant.
- Marco Montes (9/5): -
- amazial (10/5): Good value for my money and time off - Serenity and beauty Nothing
- Vishaka (8/5): Satisfactory - The location and views were amazing. Not very clean, a lot of dust. Fact that having to do all the cleaning, etc despite large fees.
- Saulius (9/5): Swimming pool and saunas within 2 min walk - Large and nice property. Could do with some cosmetic update but still very good for the price. Sauna (working) in the property. Fire doors in every room. Had to be propped with something to keep open and ensure ventilation
- Kathryn (8/5): -
- Lisa Williamson (10/5): -
- Hayley (1/5): -
- Malinga (10/5): -
- Lewis (9/5): - So much to do for kids Decor needs updating
- RENEE999 (10/5): Weekend in Pennal - The 3 floors villa was so comfortable and the views amazing. The kids loved the bunk beds. We had a great time in the indoor pool. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Can't really fault the place. The weather! It rained and we were only there for 2 nights but still had a great time.
- Jitka (7/5): -
- Barry (2/5): Avoid!!! - The staff tried to help but, there was little they could do. The place needs a complete makeover It was really really dirty and smelt like a wet dog. An old hearing aid was on the bathroom floor, the carpets were filthy and hadn’t been hoovered or cleaned. Furniture was broken and extremely warn. Even the render had fallen off the external walls. The sauna was shut, bar and restaurant were closed and the pool was cold. The pictures do not represent the resort accurately
- Niel (10/5): -
- Sheila (5/5): Will not be back - Very helpful lady on reception
Amazing views Indian meal - booked but waited 50 mins for food and not great.
Accommodation was tired and not clean
- Ceri (5/5): - Great location and beautiful scenery
Reasonable price Having been to the resort before, sadly this time it was not up to our previous experiences. The villa smelt stale and carpets were dirty. We requested an early check in, which sadly could not be accommodated and I feel that 5.30pm is too late to make the most of the days holiday. There was little toilet roll in the bathrooms and the boiler for the pool was broken, which meant the pool was freezing!! We loved this resort, but sadly it did not meet previous expectations.
- Kushal (2/5): Do not stay at this facility. You will regret booking it as we did. - The patio apartment we stayed at was not clean and every room had cob webs. The carpet and curtains smelled of urine. Our stay was not comfortable at all due to the appalling state of the patio apartment. Cleanliness or lack of. Also the staff was very rude and unhelpful. Katie at reception was very rude.
- Carla (1/5): House stank of damp, wallpaper peeling off wall in bedroom due to damp, carpets smelt of damp. Beds - Beautiful location. The house smelt strongly of damp, wallpaper in bedroom peeling off wall. Carpets smelt strongly of damp and had stains. Beds very uncomfortable and returned home a day earlier due to distress of accommodation.
Not sure I will use Booking.com again due to dissatisfaction.
- Dawn (10/5): Clean, comfy, friendly, lots of amenities, perfect for children, families, dog friendly - We found the accommodation perfect for us as it felt safe, quiet, family atmosphere. The surroundings were beautiful and there were lots of amenities to enjoy. It was set in a beautiful location and not too far from abedovey by car. Overall very calm, clean, efficient and made our holiday very enjoyable.
- Jacqui (10/5): - Excellent accommodation and resort. Already booked again for my colleagues.
- florina (10/5): -
- Roofers (9/5): -
- Mandy (8/5): Comfortable with lovely views - Spacious, had everything we needed and comfortable It would have been nice to have an onsite restaurant
- Gallagher (4/5): -
- Monika (4/5): Old dated, broken curtains, lowed noisy and dirty bathroom - Location Spacious
- Paul (3/5): - Location. Views. Fridge not cold enough to store food, heaters not working in both bathrooms, heater in twin room not working, large amount of black mold in the airing cupboard, grout in tiled floor dirty. Stained linen & towels
