Guest Reviews
- Rosalie (10/5): Very rewarding, and I could complete my work knowing I had good place to stay. - Gizo Lodge was clean, quiet, safe. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was well-fitted out kitchen including kettle and rice cooker, nice cutlery and pots and pans. Bathroom clean and attractive. Fans and lights worked well. Wi-fi was excellent and I got lots of work done. Doors locked securely. The walk up the hill to Gizo Lodge gave me excellent views of Gizo and surrounds. Staff were polite and helpful, with security officer overnight who let me out for early morning walks. 15 minute walk to the market, not much to complain of.
- Rod (9/5): Great value and good Gizo base for a short stay before island hopping - The place was very very clean. 3 rooms in this big house up on a hill. Comfortable room with ceiling fan (a/c is an extra charge). Shared toilet/shower again very clean. Large kitchen with everything and spacious dining room common area. Nice small back veranda overlooking a valley of homes. Secure. A short 2 min walk away is a local shack like shop selling basic needs (not a market). The owner and staff are very nice. Great value given the few options in Gizo, I highly recommend! It is up on a hill. I enjoyed the daily 10-15 min perfectly safe walk down to city center and then opted for a 20 SBD taxi ride back up.
- Ameli (10/5): So comfortable and nice - Very sweet staff and a clean, fresh accommodation
- Tiare (10/5): - Everything is Perfect. The windows, when its raining, the rain drips in to the house. Not all over the house but at the bottom or the windows.

- David (8/5): Joy and Zima could not have been more helpful and very friendly and completely open and honest. - Was self catering which suited me. The location on the ridge behind Gizo Town is a little remote from the main centre but a lovely rural feel among the ‘village’ feel beyond main town. $20 SBD each way by taxis to town.
- George Araujo (9/5): - I stayed here a week and felt very much at home. The staff were friendly. I made good use of the kitchen facilities It is a bit of a steep long walk to get there from the centre.
- Lawrie (10/5): - Very nice staff

- Bernadette (10/5): Great value, and homelike, accomodation in Gizo - Gizo Lodge is a home away from home. We enjoyed the kitchen facilities and the view over the village from the back deck. We were able to organise all of our day trips from here and the owner organised our local transfer to Munda. The wifi wasn’t working. The owner gave us her phone with wifi so we could use it for the duration of our stay. It’s cheap and easy to get a local SIM however the store was closed over Easter.
- Limbleong (10/5): Exceptional - Is located 20 minutes walking distance from the town. The room and the toilet are so clean. Staff very helpful.
- Alexander (10/5): Great place to stay at a very reasonable price. - This was a lovely place to stay. It is kept spotlessly clean and the staff are wonderful. There are two buildings each with several rooms. I stayed in the main building. I felt like I was in my own house with a nice kitchen and balcony with views over the hills.
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - Really fitted with our needs.
Clean and friendly.
Helpful staff.
Good location.
Well equipped kitchen.
Good value for money.
We had all space for our family which was wonderful.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (8/5): Very good -

- Paul (9/5): We would stay at Gizo Lodge again. - The ladies are lovely who run Gizo Lodge. Nice gardens, security at night. A nice 10 minute stroll into town, meeting locals along the way. Great Islander experience. Very clean accommodation, screened and airy. It has everything you need, you just need to take your food. We were the only couple there and so had the place to ourselves. For westerners this was a great Solomon Island accomodation . A great stay, thank you very much Zima, Joy and June and the other ladies.
- Mark (9/5): A good experience - located on the hill in Gizo affording views from both sides, this accommodation is value for money. All rooms have fans and one has air con, but in the early morning there's no need. There's a kitchen to prepare meals which you can eat on the veranda with a view of the ocean. Spotlessly clean with shared bathrooms. I was the only guest and had the place to myself. I have to say that the superb location has a cost. Getting to the top of that hill requires energy or paying $20 SID for a taxi. There's a road leading up between the Hotel Gizo and Police station that's less steep but longer. Enjoy encounters with locals who often greet you. Go down the steep hill if diving as it comes out at Gizo Dive
