Guest Reviews
- Paul (8/5): - Nice and private Hut is backed right next a busy road woken up early from traffic
- Emma (8/5): -
- Kelly (8/5): Lovely lady little bit difficult to find. Little bit smaller than what we fought from the pictures could’ve done with so - Hot tub Wallpaper on the roof came down
- Sophie (10/5): Fantastic Stay - Exactly as described. A hideaway from anywhere, all you can see is sunset and sheep. Hot tub was amazing! Very much warned about it in advance but the road noise at times was intrusive.
- Davis (10/5): -
- Shannon (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Very private and cosy with all the amenities you'd need. Nadia was kind enough to leave fresh eggs and milk for us to enjoy. Hot tub was wonderful. Our cats especially enjoyed watching the hens as they wandered through. The only downside was a busy road nearby but it wasn't a problem once we had gotten settled in.
- Abigail (10/5): - Fantastic How close it was to the road
- Alison (10/5): Beautifully tranquil little spot, made our first trip away together memorable - The description of the property was đź’Ż accurate, beautiful setting, very easy to find. Everything you needed was there, beautiful little hut, very clean and perfectly positioned for privacy.
- Tracy (10/5): - Everything about it, the hut was beautiful and clean. Facilities were great, it was a lovely sun trap and lovely and warm there. Fire was great, everything we needed was there. The hot tub heated up very quickly, it got to the point where it was too hot to sit in but perfect for the next morning
- Zoe (10/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): Enjoyable stay in the Sheppard's Hut, Perfect for those who love the outdoors! - The hut is presented really well with all the requirements for a comfy stay, set in a secluded garden with the beautiful evening setting sun in full view. Perfect for those who love the outdoors with options of a garden fire pit, hammock and garden furniture and hot tub to suit.
Really central location in the Gower, perfect for visiting the beautiful beaches in the area. Unfortunately we had the hot tub log burner burning for a few hours but wasn't able to get the water to a temperature we could bathe in. We also found the main road to be noisy at times as vehicles passed, it was a nice sunny evening so this was mainly groups of motor bikers passing through, this did quieten down after night fall and we both had a good sleep.
- gardiner (5/5): The value for money was good as to be expected. Lovely secluded area, would recommend a clean. - The property was lovely and secluded, nice size place I felt that it needs a good clean, was all damp up the curtains, lamps inside all rusty , all garden furniture needed a good clean, the one chair inside we went to use and it was broke
- Steven (10/5): Beautiful place - Great views, clean and everything you need N/A
- Rachel (7/5): Cute Shepherd's Hut stay - The bed was comfy and the TV had Netflix.
Fererros left on the pillow.
Cute little decor pieces
Great views of the sunset
Private and secluded The Garden wasn't pet friendly. My dog kept getting out and running around in the owners garden and it led straight on to the main road so it was very stressful.
The log fired hot tub is a great idea for saving electricity etc but when you just want a quick dip early in the morning, it's not ideal as you have to wait over 90 mins for it to warm up.
Straight behind the hut is a very loud main road that woke me up multiple times. I had an awful sleep.
No microwave
Shower wasn't hot
- Jess (10/5): - Had everything we needed, the hut was clean and Nadia the host was exceptional!
- Claire (10/5): Beautiful place. All tea coffee milk was available:) Beds were so comfortable. - Beautiful setting and area. Hut was extremely clean. The owner was very helpful.
- Kyle (8/5): -
- Izzy (10/5): Can’t wait to rebook! Stunning stay - Beautiful location and lovely stay Cosy clean and beautiful
- Carole (6/5): A quaint place to stay for Summer months. - The shepherds hut was quaint and would be lovely in warm weather .The space in the house was maximised. All appliances worked. Lack of space to hang up coats and clothes. It needed better lighting.
We didn't feel the hot tub was viable as it would have taken too long to heat up.
It was also very close to the road.
- Hector (9/5): - It was a lovely place to stay The welcome and lack of lighting and direction to the hut in dark was very disappointing.
- Jonathan (9/5): -
- Jack (9/5): Lovely space, clear night sky, lots of mood lighting and overall happy! - Was a very romantic settings, hut tub stayed hot and overall a private space. Only thing was being quite close to a road, this isn’t a busy road so hardly noticeable.
- Payton (9/5): - Lovely Little shepherd's hut! Lovely and clean
Comfortable bed! Wouldn't say i disliked anything really.
Just disappointed that the log burner hot tub took a very long time to be warmish. Only one filter produced warmth into the water so the bottom of the tub was very cold
- Maddy (1/5): -
- Leigh (9/5): Excellent stay , worth the money - Lovely clean , quiet
Beautiful clear sky , no pollution Loved the outside tub
Isolated quiet area
- Chloe (10/5): -
- Bethan (8/5): - Lovely scenery and beautiful decor in the cabin. Very clean and modern and so cozy. The chickens coming around to visit when in the hot tub was lovely! Quite muddy and slippery to get to the cabin and quite loud in the night with the road nearby.
- Cerys (10/5): 100% reccommend it. - We have just got back from Neofedd and we loved every minute of it! The beautiful cosy shepards hut and its private garden with the hottub was so stunning. Yes we couldnt resist the hot tub in the middle of November but to hear the wood crackling as your relaxing in there is really wonderful. We loved the spot where it was located really private and so much to do around. We visted the heritage centre, the cafe for lunch, walked to three cliffs bay and went to the Gower inn for dinner. The whole expirience was incredible and I cant thank our host enough (especially for our welcome choclates such a treat) My partner was icredibly happy with his birthday weekend away suprise and we both hope to come back soon as we miss it already! Nothing! it was warm, clean, beautiful and I honestly cannot thank Nadia enough.
- Keeley (10/5): - Everything was lovely! Very cosy & clean! Host was lovely & very helpful! Would stay again
- Kirsty-Jane (4/5): Disappointing - N/A Brought my partner here for a birthday celebration, when we arrived the hot tub wasn’t on, and we couldn’t get it to work, didn’t seem welcoming, whilst turning up to the hut, was really disappointed as the photos online looked completely different to what it was when we got there.
- Callum (10/5): Cosy and reasonable - Clean interior very cosy and was also stocked with all the necessities we could’ve possibly needed, The only issue we had was that there wasn’t too much wood there to start off with but there was a bag we could buy so not too much of an issue in the end
- Joseph (9/5): -
- Carla (10/5): - The feel of it. It was cosy but familiar I liked it all
- Lotti (9/5): Lovely little hut would definitely stay again just wouldn’t bring my dog - Lovely little hut to stay in, was nice and warm and homely Only thing I can think of it should really have some solar lights leading the way as it’s at the bottom of somebody’s garden and pitch black and boggy. Dog was plastered in mud from walking her all the way down there, maybe fence off the streams and huge brambles as my dog fell down there and couldnt get out for around 20 mins.
- James (10/5): -
- Jade (10/5): Excellent stay! Thank you for having us x - We absolutely loved everything about the stay! The night time hot tub was perfect and it felt so private.
- Gavin parfitt (10/5): Place was amazing would go again - The host was amazing they messaged to to thank you for your booking and I messaged back saying thank you it’s for my sons birthday just a little get way for him and is girlfriend and when they arrived the lady had put up a balloon and a little happy birthday . The pace was clean staff were amazing when I had to message for postcode for delivery great value for money I want to book now for myself
- oliver (8/5): -
- Tara (10/5): Relaxing, cosy, just what we needed. - Everything, it was cosy, warm, clean & had everything we needed. The chicken made us feel right at home 🤣 eggs, milk & chocolate’s were a lovely gesture. We will definitely be back. Only negative I can think of is that the hot tub steps are not secured to it and can move as your stepping out.
- Rebecca (9/5): Lovely stay perfect location thanks deffo be back - Lovely little cosy property , host replied to messsges very quickly .
- Amanda (9/5): - Everything!! The hut was warm and cosy, even though the weather was wild. The bed is especially comfortable. The hot tub was great and the chickens came to visit as we sat in there. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Fantastic little getaway, hot tub was amazing and the kind gesture of hot chocolate and chocolates were a welcome additi - The hut was fantastic, cosy and well maintained/set out. Nowhere to hang coats but other than that the place is great.
- Wendy (5/5): -
- ramsbottom (9/5): Nadia was a exceptional host and made sure everything was perfect for our stay would definitely book to stay again - Set in its own little garden with some lovely views over the fields and a perfect spit to watch the sunset. The hut is clean tidy and perfect for a few nights away. I can’t really fault the property after reading previous review and people complaining about the road noise I was a little apprehensive but it’s really not as bad as people were saying.
- Spicer (5/5): Reasonable for the price. Nice little setup but with room for improvement. - Liked the idea of the shepherds hut. And the extras that came with it - the hot tub for example and the garden space. Fairly well provisioned with fire wood, fire lighter and tools needed for creating the fire for the non electric hot tub.
The parking is good enough and the instructions are clear. There are some nice messages in the accommodation as well, which we thought was cute.
We were welcomed with some chocolate and hot chocolate, which was a nice touch.
Sadly we had poor weather, which of course is not within the power of the host. Luckily though the hut was equipped with a decent Tele with Netflix and other apps for entertainment.
Despite what we didn't like, I have to account for the price per night - which is quite cheap. The hut was too close to the road. You could hear and basically feel each car going by, as if you were in a roadside tent. This made sleeping quite challenging. I'm quite a deep sleeper (I have literally slept through multiple earth quakes) and I found it challenging to get a solid couple of hours sleep while the cars went by.
It had an airflow issue as well. It was 13-15 degrees over night. We had the bedside window open and the bathroom window. And in the very early morning (on both nights) I woke up in a sweat and had to open the front door.
This isn't to say we had a bad time. But rather there is some room for improvement, especially where it comes to the positioning of the hut next to the road.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Samuel (9/5): -
- Deanna (10/5): - Beautiful setting! Everything we needed so cosy
- Gwyn (10/5): -
- Maisie (10/5): magical - It was a beautiful hut, very spacious & has everything you need inside. Lots of lovely little touches, very sweet. There’s so many walks and beaches nearby. Great for hikers! Highly recommend going to The King Arthur for food.
Nadia the host is absolutely exceptional, very responsive and a wonderful nature.
Nefoedd will always hold a special place in my heart. We came for a birthday celebration & ended in a proposal. It was the most perfect setting. Nothing.
- Carla (10/5): Tranquil and Beautiful Hut for a short staycay x - Loved the service provided by Nadia in terms of the support prior to my arrival and during the stay I’m just used to more firm mattress but otherwise I couldn’t fault the experience and facilities.
- Leanne (10/5): - Lovley location, watching the sunset was fantastic. Nadia was very helpful and always replied quickly to any questions we had. Fab host.
- Nathan (9/5): Great value for money, had a lovely time would definitely stay here again and shall recommend to freinds. - Very clean, comfortable, good facilities and our host couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful.
We enjoyed a beautiful sunset in the hot tub framed perfectly by the trees and all in all had a great night.
- Laura (8/5): Lovely little hut - Cosy hut, beautiful garden and view, nice hot tub, great location for our purposes Road traffic closer than expected, no hook/handle for towels (incl hand towel)
- Shirlie (10/5): - Beautiful surroundings. Excellent eye for detail in the hut with lovely extra touches. Highly recommended.
- Kara (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kieran (8/5): Very good -
- Hayley (9/5): Superb -
- Dylan (10/5): Review - The hut was absolutely amazing, extremely comfortable and all amenities were top notch, a stellar stay That the stay wasn't longer
- Jennifer (8/5): Great. - Comfortable, clean, well equipped and comfy bed.
- Allison (7/5): Good - The hut was nice Not ar all like the pictures advertising it, was close to road and when heavy traffic passes the hut shook!! Mouldy hammock and sun loungers, area outside needs alot of tlc!!
- Susan (5/5): The shepherds hut was really nice and comfortable for a short stay but the noise of the traffic spoiled it - Nice enclosed garden, good sized shepherds hut and very comfortable bed If your looking for a bit of peace and tranquility it’s not for you. The shepherds hut was surrounded by trees and greenery but it was close to a very busy and noisy road
- Flavio (10/5): Beautiful little hut with all the trimmings - Very cute little hut with everything we needed - and a wood fired hot tub! Such a nice relaxing treat at the end of a busy day exploring the Gower peninsula! And yes, the hut is close to a road - but during the night almost no one ever passes through there, it really is very quiet. Checkin was easy, the host was very nice and responsive. We definitely recommend this place as a comfy base to venture into Gower!
- Jasmine (8/5): Beautiful little hut in an ideal location - perfect for a weekend getaway! - Beautiful property, lovely for a glamping style getaway! Cozy hut with everything you need for a little weekend away. Nicely sized shower, cute garden, good sized fridge and sink, functional little kitchen area, perfect for cooking or BBQ outside! The property was inviting. Nestled away in a gorgeous private garden area. If you are looking to be surrounded by nature this is the perfect little place! There is only one thing I found took away from the stay (mildly). 1.) Road noise. Even though the Hut itself is very private, it is near a busy road and as cars pass by you can hear them quite a bit. Not an issue in the night when sleeping, as traffic tends to be few and far between, but it will wake you up in the morning for sure.
Feedback for consideration:
The bathroom door could do with a hook for bath towels or clothing. I noticed there were holes drilled for one but the it was no longer there.
A mirror in the bathroom (either one attached to the back of the door or maybe one hung above the toilet on the back wall would have been useful to check makeup (I know there isn’t much space in there).
- Gurpal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely little shepherds hut exactly as described. Nadia, the host was excellent, always available to help if needed and with great communication before and during our stay. The hot chocolate and box of chocolates on arrival were very welcome.
- Wessley (10/5): Exceptional - One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on!
Very well connected to the best parts of the gower so it was easy to find but still quiet. There wasn't anything I didn't like, it was perfect
- Becky (8/5): Wonderful Welsh retreat to enjoy nature, hiking and the most beautiful sunsets. - The seclusion of its own beautiful, natural, wild country garden and how it is perfect for a couple to enjoy some time away to rest and relax. We LOVE our Superking bed at home, so sharing a double was quite a squeeze for us, but it suited the shepherd hut perfectly.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janja (9/5): Lovely peaceful stay - Lovely private garden cabin with outdoor grill, table and chairs, a couple of lounge chairs, hammock and a hot tub. It is very secluded and we really enjoyed the privacy despite it being at the bottom of someone’s garden. It was very well equipped, kitchen had everything we needed, shower ran both hot and cold, dark-out curtains helped us sleep in longer. Hot tub took about 2 hours to heat up (you also get the wood for it, if you need extra it’s £5 for a massive bag of it) and we loved it. View from the cabin/garden is over the fields and hills where the sun sets which only added to the overall wholesome feel of it all. Gower also has no street lighting, so we enjoyed the star gazing. Overall - we really loved our stay The garden (and the cabin) backs onto a reasonably trafficked 40-mph road, so the sounds of cars can be slightly disruptive to the general tranquility of the place. However, this was not an issue early in the morning, late at night or overnight - we slept soundly.
The hob didn’t get quite hot enough for us to sear the steaks. In hindsight - we should have probably used the outdoor grill. This is very minor, it did not impact the overall impression of the place but noting it here in case it’s helpful for anyone’s future stay.
- Maxwell (5/5): Nice cabin, shame about the main road trafgic - The Hut had all the basics you needed for a long weekend away. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen had a sma oven with hob, kettle, fridge. There is a small electric heater too.
Fire pit /bbq was OK thought needs attention as the BBQ legs were a bit unstable and the firepit requires work too. We didn't see much of the hosts but they replied to communications quickly. Location was good for visiting places in the Gower. There is a hotel/bar about a mile away that was friendly and nice. The cabin is located in the bottom corner of the nosts garden. This is right next to a main road that is very busy at times. Take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Even at weekends the traffic continued until 11/12pm. There was no mention in the description that the cabin was next to the main road before booking. I think I would not have booked had we known this. The hot tub took a long time to get up to temp (Wood fired), And though it said wood was supplied for this and the pit we had to pay for extra wood. Lastly the shower was just warm enough but by no means hot!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mattia (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Perfect for a relaxing and romantic stay - Location is fantastic. It’s quiet and close so some of the most fantastic beaches the gower has to offer.
- Claire (10/5): Amazing views and beautiful place to chill for a few days ! - Beautiful place, owners were really helpful …
- David (8/5): Wonderful getaway in the Gower - Lovely location to enjoy the Gower and the host, Nadia, was extremely helpful and welcoming. Given the time of year and weather, it was difficult to get the room temperature right (the heater is either on or off) and there could be a lot of condensation. But that’s January for you!
- Kirsty (6/5): Was cosy and clean - Loved how rustic it was and cosy and comfortable Was no where to put washed up dishes as there was a microwave on the drainer.
Feel damp in the morning inside of doors and windows were dripping wet.
Hot tub was great although after letting it warm for nearly 2 hours the bottom was freezing cold perhaps a paddle to stir it during the warm up process would be helpful.
No toilet brush
Only 1 glass
No information on local shops etc
Wasn’t really aware of how far away everything was
The path down to the hut was extremely boggy and slippy quite dangerous
The photos on the website don’t really look much like how it is now but I suppose the time of year didn’t help
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - The hut was amazing!!!
- Ranveer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (8/5): Very good -
- Lauren (10/5): Lovely hut, great location - We loved our visit to Nefoedd Shepherds Hut. The hut was so cute and cosy and we had everything we could have possibly needed for our stay. The hot tub was amazing, as were the views. The extra touches provided by the host were great, and the hut was spotless. Nefoedd is in a very central location for the Gower, and we managed to fit in visits to several beaches during our stay. Would definitely visit again. No negatives 🙂
- Amanda (10/5): It was an ideal night away. - It was situated at the bottom of a garden but private enough. The garden area was set lovely with games and loungers for the summer days/evening.
Inside was clean and had added touches that made it homely. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but we have a memory foam mattress at home so no other bed will beat it.
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Really nice tucked away location, very peaceful. The weather was dreadful and this didn't affect the hut at all which was really good. It's unfair to say I "didn't like" this bit, but a few more cushions would have been handy, just to prop yourself up in bed a bit more to watch the TV, although if the weather was better we'd have been outside.
- Rachel (10/5): Peaceful picturesque cozy stay - It was cozy and well equipped. Nothing it was perfect.
- Maizie (10/5): lovely and relaxing - loved the place, in a lovely location with animas roaming nearby such as horses, sheep and cows! decorated nicely for my partners birthday
- Seren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruth (6/5): Pleasant - The fact that it was 5pm on arrival so it was dark the housesign wasn't very visible & there was no lighting from the back of the house leading to the hut plus it was wet & muddy & there was some of the walkway not paved
- Katie (7/5): Good for a short stay - The bed was comfy, nice shower, enough cooking facilities and crockery provided. Hot tub and outdoor games were nice Road was very loud and shook the hut. Hot tub took 4 hours+ to heat up. Only one chair for the table
- Samuel (8/5): Had a lovely short break and location was great for what we wanted every thing we needed was supplied and nice touch wi - It was clean , lovely location , very well thought out and decorated, everything that’s you needed was supplies, lovely homemade wooden games . Nothing really but could use more lighting in the bathroom
- Katie (10/5): It was such a lovely stay, very cosy, cwtchy and romantic we both loved our stay and it was very relaxing we had a lovel - It was very peaceful and relaxing How dark it was going towards it and how not noticeable the place is to find in the dark
- Svec (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (10/5): Gorgeous little hut, hot tub and campfire a delight - Beautiful little hut, decorated lovely with all the necessary amenities. Wood fired hot tub and camp fire outside were gorgeous
Convenient location Busy road behind the hut, some loud vehicles overnight - but that can't be helped
- Scarlett (8/5): Very good - Nice views
Secluded
Clean and comfortable
Great location
Animals
Great facilities Hard to find - no signs
No robes
No shelter outside
- Sonya (1/5): Horrible and won’t be staying again - Had a decent view Very uncomfortable, very loud from being right next to the road, in the back of someone’s garden is very uncomfortable, loose chickens making a mess in the garden with their droppings was disgusting. Hot tub was rubbish it didn’t heat up at all, bed was very very creaky, garden was an absolute mess and overall horrible experience and will not be staying again
- Rmcg (6/5): A relaxed, private, romantic getaway for two - Rustic, relaxed, good outdoor space, cosy, comfortable, warm, private, loved the roaming chickens & ducks, excellent hot tub experience. Attention to detail lacking and looks a bit tired compared to advert pictures
(Milk in fridge was sour, hand towels missing, outside space needs some TLC, weeding, strimmed, tidied etc)
- Cassandra (9/5): Romantic, Wonderful and relaxing which was what I wanted - It felt so isolated when you weren’t which was just what I wanted Nothing!
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the shepherds hut.It had everything you need .and a nice hot shower.very peaceful with chicken and ducks roaming about .would definitely stay there again
- Tia (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (9/5): Lovely romantic getaway - Beautiful little touches throughout the hut and the host was really friendly and helpful. The wood fired hot tub was just what we wanted and it was set in a beautiful private garden
