Guest Reviews
- Jorden (8/5): Perfect for dog friendly getaway - Comfy bed
Quite and private
Cool lights
- V (4/5): Not a great property - Had the basic essentials and good to have a microwave and washing machine. Drainage in shower was a real problem, leaving the whole of bathroom floor wet all the time. No hot water at bathroom sink. Some appliances were very old and worn. No hooks anywhere for towels etc. Not properly clean inside the accommodation and outside area looked unkempt.
- Lee (10/5): A gem of a property- perfect for a single traveller - This is a gem of a place and was perfect for my needs after a hard day's work.
The owner John's communication was perfect, and he sent very detailed directions to the property. Nothing
- Slater (8/5): Very good - Night lights were soothing Small space
- Nathalie (8/5): Nice - Outdoor No mirror anywhere!
- Rennie (3/5): Poor - Was located in a converted outhouse/garage located in a poorly maintained garden. It was next to a noisy dual carriageway. There was an odour in the property and the drainage in the shower was poor.
- Thomas (6/5): Pleasant - With the picture from John easy to found. Good parking space. Guy next door very friendly.( Maybe the Host)
As we travel for work it is acceptable for us. When you shower flood the hole bath. You should let know the people for extra shoes , outer wise you get wett socks when you go to the bath.
Fridge need defrosting, water drops on everything in the fridge.
- Tania (7/5): Functional but not what I expected. Garden overgrown and general maintenance required. Extremely comfortable bed though - Had Netflix Blocked shower
- Raveca (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great, the room, the bathroom, the kitchen, the patio , the location. I am very satisfied. I will definitely come back here .
- Demelza (7/5): Comfortable overnight stay - Everything self contained and easy to use. The room smelt of cigarettes but did notice neighbouring property had burnt down so guess that can’t be avoided. A mirror on wall would be handy for guests to use.
- Angela (1/5): Bad - None of it On a major busy rd.
Sink falling off wall .
So so small .
Garden a mess .
Wouldn't pass health and safe regs
Don't stay here
- Teresa (6/5): Pleasant - Close to where we needed to be for ferry for the following morning It was a shame the neighbouring property had recently had a garage fire as could still smell it in the room
- Sarah (3/5): Never again - Not a lot! It’s falling to pieces! Bed broke. Freezer full of ice unable to close. Bathroom sink about to fall over!
- Mo (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (5/5): Passable -
- Sue (4/5): Budget accommodation, even so, very disappointing. - The owner John was very quick to respond for requests for help, and provided fresh milk, and plenty of tea, coffee and sugar. Things that can't be changed: Location, backing on to a major road (hidden by fence), extreme traffic noise.
Things that really need doing: sort out drainage in wet room. Replace hotplates, only one working and hard to control heat. Replace oven, I just didn't fancy eating anything that came out of it. Provide 2 useable garden chairs, currently there is only one not damaged.
Suggestions: Remove ornamental hearth and fire which,(I believe,) serve no purpose, take up valuable space, and result in constant stubbed toes!. Provide a mirror, hooks for clothing and towels, tin opener and tea spoons, clothes line, clothes pegs and wash bag to get clothes from machine to garden. Also replace poor quality bedding, hot and sweaty man-made fibres, and bottom sheet that does not fit.
I am currently following my 80yr old husband who is doing a sponsored walk around the coast of the British Isles. Our budget is very restricted, and this was certainly priced at the lower end of accommodation in the area. After a tiring week, I had been looking forward to a couple of relaxing days, sitting in the garden, had even brought my paints with me. This was not possible. I found the whole stay (2 nights) a bit of a trial to be honest, and when we switched the apparently new tv on, late on Saturday night to discover that the channels needed setting up - I am not technologically minded - we packed our things to leave asap the next morning.
- Anni (6/5): Pleasant - Clean compact apartment, easy to find, great directions, reasonable facilities Noisy, adjacent to a motorway
Stove didn't work- admittedly I didn't ask for assistance so there may have been an easy solution
Owner was still cleaning when I arrived after 4pm
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
