Guest Reviews
- Musafir (1/5): Not worth for money - Nothing Not worth for money. No enough power sockets to charge. No ceiling fans only stand fans. Rooms are too small.
- Martyn (10/5): Perfect if taking the train, very friendly. - The owner was very friendly and very helpful. We booked a triple with a shared bathroom but when we arrived he allocated us a room with an adjacent bathroom for our exclusive use. The room and bathroom were large and very clean.
The owner does not live on site (5 mins away)so issued us with front door keys so we could come and go as we wished and insisted on being there when we checked out a 6am the following morning which was kind. He also gave us his phone number so we could contact at him at any time.
The location is excellent for anyone using the train station. It is about 7 mins walking distance from the station and located in the towns Main Street so there are plenty of food opportunities. It takes about 5 mins in a Tuk Tuk from the station (needs to go around the one way system) and that costs under LKR200.
It was a great overnight stay in an interesting vibrant town.
Highly recommend
- Calliope (3/5): Hated it - It’s close to the railway and it’s cheap. It was dirty, there were cockroaches in the bathroom and lots of insects in the room, no wifi, no bed sheets, no soap or anything in the bathroom. I had to ask for towels and toilet paper so I think if I didn’t ask, we wouldn’t have had anything. It was really loud during the night, idk if there was something jumping on the roof but we felt like the roof was gonna fall over us during the night. We barely slept and were very happy to leave!
- Tharsalan (8/5): Very good -
- Lakshitha (7/5): Good -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - The location is great next tu bus station so you can lot of options where to go. The place is quiet, we had a room with a balcony and a bathroom, there were also towels. The staff was very very nice and helpful. Breakfast is also included in the price, which is really great and quite large. Definitely recommend.
- Kenshiro (8/5): Very good - The owner is a good person. A room is clean, has a hot shower. Very convenient location if you wanna take a train on the next day morning.
There was no WiFi but was not a big problem for us.
- Bernadeta (3/5): Don’t recommend. - No towel, no duvet or it’s cover (or extra sheet). It was very uncomfortable night because I didn’t have anything to cover myself while sleeping.
- Ling (9/5): Superb - great location, close to the bus station, need to contact with owner before arrived, clean and equipped room
- Carolina (8/5): Very good - Good location, close to train station. Very helpful and kind owner I believe I was alone in the building during night time, felt a bit scary being locked in
- Dharshaka (4/5): Was not a pleasant experience. - Nothing Above picture is not the room we stayed. It was too small room and small bathroom.
- Saw (8/5): Overall is acceptable for 1 night short stay. - They acknowledged their mistake of giving me the wrong type of room and immediately corrected it with a change of room. I was given the wrong room type for the first 1 hour. I had to complain.
- Kushan (9/5): Superb - Room was very nice and clean @ big , really good for 4 person enough place...
Also kind staff....excellent service...💐💐
- H (9/5): Superb -
- Janaka (8/5): Very good - Location Location
- Mi (5/5): Passable - Big size bed with mattress Ambiance
- Noah (8/5): Very good choice if you want to get the train to Ella! - The hotel is very centrally located and in close proximity to the railway station. If you want to get the early train to Ella in the morning, this is probably the best option! The owner is very helpful and friendly and gladly organises transport to the railway station, which is in walking distance, however. The rooms are clean, simple, and have everything you need. We were very happy with our stay. The rooms are rather small. This was more than ok for us, however. Consequently, the bathroom is very small as well. There is no AC. This, however, is not a problem at all, since it gets cool in Badulla at night.
- Jonathan (7/5): Good - The owner was great and very kind, welcoming despite late arrival and him having to wait for me to get food before locking the door for the night. Fan was 20 years behind the modern plug system in the room and was simply there for show it seemed, room was a bit stuffy for someone unaclimatised to the heat
Locked in during the night, felt strange as I wondered what I would do in case of a fire.
Had to wait for the owner to let me out but thankfully he was right on time and very kind man but also prefer to be able to come and go as I please.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tilak (10/5): Our stay in badulla - Everything is in close proximity. Received a professional service. staircases were not comfortable
