Guest Reviews
- Monika (10/5): -
Nulla

- Mélanie (10/5): -
- Alice (9/5): - The hotel is charming with an interesting history and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were on the smaller side (particularly the shower). This is to be expected given the historic nature of the property but good to be aware of.
A légkondi működött.
Obsługa hotelu wyjątkowo uprzejmą i pomocna. Pyszne śniadania
- Mark (9/5): Lovely stay in a very historical building.perfect to explore Chania would certainly revisit if looking to stop in Chania - Friendly, Clean, Comfortable and very historical with lots of photos showing its past. Only reason we didn’t give a 10 for facilities was because the shower wasn’t perfect
- Justine (9/5): Lovely hotel with an amazing view - The hotel is within walking distance of the Old Venetian Harbor. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a room with a sea view, but it was rather loud on the weekend. The breakfast was delicious, featuring traditional Greek dishes, and came with a beautiful view. Parking was easy to find on the nearby streets.
- SERDAR (8/5): Location is good and a historical building - The location was right on. The restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful. At our check in we were told either we pay cash otherwise we wouldn’t be accepted for the check in., coz of the owners passed away a week ago. With our deep condolences this would have been told to us a week ago. We were shocked. This was a very bad situation with a very last minute information. They were asking cash in a very last moment. Very unprofessional. While we’re searching for another hotel in their garden they came to us and said they would accept the credit card now. Why and What happened ? This wasn’t a good start.
The breakfast as written in the reviews wasn’t that good at all. Average.
- Marta (10/5): Worth every penny - The staff is amazing so friendly and helpful and the views are amazing
- aybike (10/5): - Amazin hotel and staff!
- Lorenzo (6/5): - View from breakfast room was breath taking. The stay was satifying, however the staff was not really helpful. In particular, regarding assistance to guests, they appeared not really interested in our comfort. E.g., they were not available to solve our sleeping issue, i.e., light coming from windows at 6 a.m. without proler courtains, issue never solved by the staff...
- Alan (8/5): Lovely hotel in good location with some charming features - The view from the front balcony of my standard suite and the view from the breakfast room was simply stunning.
The gardens were beautiful and the perfect place to relax in with a book or a glass of wine.
The ambience was charming
Really good buffet style breakfast Lack of choice for cooked options at breakfast and not obvious that one could ask for eggs

- mahdi (10/5): - Staff so friendly Nothing everything was perfect
- Olha (10/5): Will come back! - Stuff is amazing. Breakfast lady and gentleman at the front desk were super friendly. Location is very convenient. Breakfast is delicious. Little garden is a bonus. And place is just so vibrant! Bathroom needs shower curtain.
- sabina (9/5): -
- Siarhei (8/5): -
- Tara Marshall (9/5): Enjoyed 2 nights ☺️ - Amazing historical building close to the old town and a beach. Fantastic breakfast, and great service. Very appreciative of the air conditioning during July. One room was hot and no ice machine
- GG (10/5): An excellent stay - Amazing location, very convenient for visiting the old town but also the other parts of the city.
The hotel has a retro aesthetic with lots of furniture and photos from the past. Every area, in the room and the common areas, is an interesting trip to the past.
The room was very clean and kept like that throughout our stay.
The hotel staff was excellent: friendly, polite and helpful.
- Guest (5/5): -
- Hilda Anne (10/5): A great short stay for a relaxing vacation - Location 5 min from beach, 10 min walk from city centre, balcony - a good asset for drying clothes after a swim, and the cherry on the cake breakfast with a view
- Kyriaki (10/5): - Beautiful building,in great location with easy parking despite how close it is to the old harbour, and with lovely staff who make excellent coffee. Nothing comes to mind.
- Michelle (7/5): Mixed Feelings about Hotel Doma - I have mixed feelings about Hotel Doma. The location is excellent — within walking distance to everything — and the sea-facing rooms offer truly stunning views. However, if you're placed in a rear-facing room, the experience feels like a completely different hotel, lacking the charm and atmosphere of the front. The breakfast is very basic and repetitive, which may prompt you to seek alternatives after a few days. But the most troubling aspect of my stay involved the front desk staff. Upon arrival for a two/three-week stay, I requested to pay in cash, as Booking.com had indicated this was an option. The receptionist, who seemed to be in a bad mood already, reacted aggressively, refused to help me move my bags, refused to let me settle in and retrieve a card, and attempted to charge my saved bank card without consent. When I questioned this, he berated me and even declared I was no longer welcome at the hotel.
After leaving the hotel, the manager intervened, calmed the situation slightly, and clarified that the receptionist had no authority to make such statements. The incident was deeply unprofessional and unlike anything I’ve experienced at a well-run hotel. I even contacted a nearby hotel to secure an alternative room, as I no longer felt comfortable staying. Only after realising the severity of their behaviour did the staff urge me to stay and asked whether I would like the employee to apologise — I declined.
Overall, while the hotel has its strengths, the handling of this situation left a lasting negative impression.

- Eric (8/5): It was nice overall. - The woman that served us during breakfast was SOOO NICE and kind! Television was very small
- Eugen (10/5): Everything at Doma contributed to a wonderful vacation!!! - Everything was at an excellent level!
Up until this age I have been to different hotels, some sophisticated others beautiful, clean, attractive... but none had a life and soul of its own like the Doma hotel on Venizelos Stade in Crete! This is a special hotel, with a special story and a special atmosphere. The cleanliness, courtesy, location, quality of breakfast can only be spoken of in superlatives! No exaggeration! I would like to thank the two wonderful owners, Rena and Ioanna, who, despite their advanced age, transmitted a youthful air everywhere around. We also want to thank the wonderful ladies at the bar, Mimi and Christina, the maids Joanna, Stella and Afroditi. Special thanks also go to the reception staff, Irene, Margarita, George and Yasos, who found solutions for us to any request (with common sense, of course) and who guided us to get to know the wonderful area.
- Yasmina (10/5): When thinking about our Chania stay, Doma hotel gives us very good memories. It’s a special place with harmonious atmosp - The sea view is fantastic! We loved our room, from the bathroom you can see the beautiful sea 💙 outdoor space is so pretty. It is great opportunity to stay in a house with history. Wet bathroom. Maybe a glass paravan will help.
- Lorenzo (10/5): - La posizione, la pulizia, e l’accoglienza
- Melissa (10/5): Wonderful place and people. Location and view amazing - Unique opportunity to stay in a special place. It is like walking into history. All the staff are kind and friendly. The view from my room was spectacular especially at sunset. Great breakfast as well. All good

- wilson (8/5): Lovely Chania hotel near the archaeological museum - We stayed here just for one night after arriving late at night at the airport. The hotel is next to the sea, and a convenient 10 minute walk from the wonderful archaeological museum in Chania. The staff were great and the breakfast was delicious; the breakfast room also has wonderful views of the sea. Just fyi do NOT swim at the beach directly across from the hotel. It's not clean on the way down, shall we say, and also a passing local lady strongly urged me, as a woman, not to swim there. Instead swim where the locals do, about 100 metres to the west... (to the left as you look out to sea) ... there you will see elderly people in swim caps going in in the morning, and there are hooks on the wall along the back of the beach to hang your towels. very civilised!
- Jamie (10/5): Brilliant staff - welcoming and very helpful and kind: - Bedrooms were clean and elegant
Breakfast was fabulous
A beautiful old hotel with character Nothing
- Selin (10/5): History Like - We had a wonderful stay at Doma Hotel! Waking up to the sea view every morning was such a peaceful experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were unbelievably sweet – truly the highlight of our stay. Every day they helped us find taxis without hesitation, always with a smile. The breakfast was also lovely, and the ladies working there were especially kind and warm.
The location is also perfect – just a beautiful 10-minute walk along the seaside takes you right into the center of Chania.
We’re so grateful to everyone at the hotel – thank you for making our trip to Crete even more special! Nothing!

- Lorraine (10/5): It was amazing to meet the original owner Irene and chat with her about the history of the building. - The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. They kindly upgraded our room at no extra cost. We loved all the history .
- Nancy (8/5): - Breakfast was okay - but the views from the breakfast room were lovely in room facilities like the hairdryer were a little dated - and when I asked for an iron it didn't come with an ironing board
- Valeriya (9/5): Very cute hotel, highly recommended - Very close to the centre, amazing breakfast, nice staff and rooms with sea view :) Finding parking was sometimes difficult
- Feyza (10/5): -
- Kloe15 (10/5): - Lovely staff, very thoughtful and considerate. amazing hotel with perfect location
- Phil (8/5): Great views and amazing staff. - The staff were always helpful and friendly, the hotel has a great personality and the breakfast was always amazing. Booked a double bedroom, but was actually two single beds when we arrived.
- Nicoletta (9/5): -

- caterina (10/5): Magnifica esperienza - Lo staff é gentilissimo, persone molto disponibili.
- Mollie (7/5): I loved the view from the room into the shady garden. Great location. We loved walking into the centre along the beach e - Loved the authentic furnishing and decoration I’m sorry but I disliked the shower. Also we requested a double room. But received a twin which was disappointing.
- George (9/5): Excellent stay, warm and polite staff. - Excellent stay due to the very polite staff, especially the breakfast ladies. They were very sweet and police. Reception was very polite too particularly the gentleman with the long hair. It's been a while since I have been to a hotel that people are genuinely happy to work there. My room was spacious and had a nice balcony. Breakfast was not very big but everything that as a Greek person wanted from and very fresh. Fresh orange juice, feta and kaltzounia! The view was very good too, ideal for a nice early morning. The extra door between the entrance and the room a bit of noise isolation and the room itself was very clean - coming with both a ceiling fan and an air con. A few nitpicks here: as this is an old hotel, the noise insulation is not good. I slept very well though due to quiet neighbors - so if you have any noisy ones around, it would be very hard to sleep. No curtains for the shower so the water can literally go anywhere in the small bathrooms. The elevator was tiny too-it says four people but I suppose if you are a child it's ok! Full adults with luggage can hardly fit in there. Be that as it may, none of the above impacted my staying there. I enjoyed it a lot.

- adp007 (8/5): A classy stay. - The breakfast was excellent with a spectacular view to the old port of Chania. The building was neoclassical ozzing quality and tradition. There was also a very useful elevator offering easy access to higher floors. All personnel were extremely polite and useful. The shower had no curtain so the water would splatter all around and make a mess.
- Andreas (10/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal, toller Aufenthalt.

- Jan (9/5): - I enjoyed my stay in this extraordinary and special hotel. Went there for a historical research and left of information. I strongly recommend this place.
