• Howard (2/5): Very disappointing given the bad things I’ve written about. - It was in a fairly good location There was a lot of traffic noise from the street below (I hardly slept). There was very strong cigarette smoke smell in the toilet all the time (it must come in from elsewhere) and the smell also went into the bathroom and bedroom (it affected my wife’s asthma). A door handle was missing on the bedroom door so we had to make sure it was propped open, the towel rail and toilet roll holder were coming loose from the wall. The steep spiral steps to the 3rd floor will be an issue for many people especially with luggage.

• Bibi (8/5): Fijn en centraal gelegen verblijf - Fijn, ruim en centraal gelegen verblijf. Voor ons was het geen probleem, maar je moet wel mobiel zijn om trappen te lopen met je bagage. Jammer dat je het raam niet open kon kiepen voor in de nacht, enkel volledig open of dicht.

• Laurence (10/5): Zeker aan te raden! - Locatie is perfect. Helaas viel de cv ketel uit, maar gelukkig snel kunnen schakelen met verhuurder en gezamenlijk een tijdelijke oplossing kunnen creëren. Fijn dat de verhuurder snel reageerde Je slaapt in het centrum, dus slaap je graag met het raam open, neem dan oordopjes mee. Niet omdat het giga lawaaierig is, maar er lopen mensen over straat in de nacht🙂

• Filipe Ricardo (8/5): all you need for a pleasant stay! - Location wise, it's a great spot. Just make sure to bring ear plugs if you're sensitive to noise, street can get loud. There was roadwork right outside the door which started at 7h30 in the morning. Couldn't get much sleep and the power was cut without warning, which was an unpleasant surprise. Other than that, all was good :)

• Miruna (10/5): Perfect stay for a few days in Ghent! For business or pleasure, ticks all boxes. - Location first & foremost. Close to everything downtown. Neatly designed. Extremely comfortable bed, I slept like a baby each night! In lack of stove (due to space restrictions), I wish there was a coffee maker and a microwave. I’ve been working remotely during my stay & those would have made me feel almost like home.

• Joelle (7/5): It was ok and fair but did not meet my expectations following the reviews I read before booking. - The location is good and the room is big. I personally didn't felt good vibes when i entered the room. In the evening, you can hear feel as if there are earthquakes happening and it is from the trams passing around. The area to leave luggage is not safe and there was some worker who could access it. It should be with a lock code and door so everyone can use it. The owner messaged if all is fine but when i replied that there is no soap in the bathroom, i didn't hear from him even though i had daily and continuous messages from him before. It would have been nice to reply and say he cannot bring some.

• Kiem Lian (6/5): Fantastisch gelegen appartement voor een weekendje weg in Gent - De locatie is echt perfect - mooi centraal gelegen. Ook OV haltes nabij. Ideale uitvalsbasis voor weekendje weg in Gent. Zeker na een voorstelling in de opera. Leuke koffietentjes en restaurants direct in de nabijheid. Handige incheck met codes en de nodige informatie in bericht van de host/eigenaar. Het bed was erg comfortabel, fijne douche en de supersnelle wifi was ook erg fijn. Voor de prijs per nacht (150 zonder tax) was de afwerking en inrichting niet helemaal de kwaliteit die we op basis van de foto’s hadden verwacht (brico type laminaat vloerafwerking, geen ventilatie in het toilet😳). De kitchenette had qua apparatuur alleen een waterkoker en had daardoor weinig toegevoegde waarde, maar dat hadden we zelf beter kunnen checken (nu op Booking de beschrijving controlerend - klopt precies wat daar staat). Enkelglas in de grote ramen gaf best wat geluid door - zoals anderen dan ook aangaven in recensies- maar we hebben er prima geslapen. Een goede geluidsisolerende deur van trappenhuis (met lawaaierige grote, lege flessenkoelkast) naar het appartement was wel prettig geweest. Vitrage voor bij de gordijnen is ook een tip: er is op de eerste etage waar we zaten (Verdi), inkijk vanaf de straat (mensen wachtend bij het theater). Misschien is een ronde aan opwaardering mogelijk want de plek is echt te gek en er lijkt meer mogelijk te zijn met het appartement.
• Linde (8/5): Aangenaam, simpel maar goed. - Zeer ruime kamer! Chocomelk is een leuke extra! Veel trappen omhoog met de bagage. En het vasttapijt is aan vervanging / grondige poets toe.
• Jasmine (5/5): Great location, but not suitable for elderly or frail travellers. - Check in instructions were clear and given well ahead of time, check in was a breeze. Location was great, the tram station and a grocery shop was just round the corner. It is at the edge of the town so you get to walk past all the streets and stores. Bed was comfy and clean, and room was spacious. Toiletries were provided. This might not be the safest for elderly travellers. There is a very narrow spiral staircase which is completely understandable as that is just the structure of the building. However, I think only the first (or maybe ground and first) floor had new steps, and the rest were old and creaky. The lights are timer-based and this information was not shared in advance, as well as the fact that pressing the light switch again at each floor will reset the timer. I stayed on the top floor, and when I checked out with my cabin-sized carryon luggage at dawn, the lights went out before I reached the ground. Because it was dark and it was a spiral staircase, I fell and landed on my ankle. In any case, I was in between floors and there was no way I could have reached a light switch. Now I am back home and after a visit to the hospital, it was confirmed that I had fractured my foot and have to be in cast and hospitalisation leave for 2 weeks. FYI I am in my early 30s and mobile with no health conditions, plus I have travelled 40, maybe 50+ times internationally and have never been injured on a trip before.

Ma...attenzione le camere non sono al piano terra e per raggiungerle si deve fare una scala ripidissima, a chiocciola. Non raccomandabile con molti bagagli e se avete difficoltá motorie. Staff non presente, tutto fatto con codici online. L'accessibilità non perfetta, i materassi erano troppo morbidi, ma questo é opinabile

• Thomas (9/5): Satisfactory, bright and spacious - We stayed in the deluxe king room, the Puccini blue room. The pictures on the booking sight are accurate. The room is spacious, bright, and airy with high ceilings. There were plenty of electrical outlets to charge iPhones at night and the WiFi was strong. The water is fine for drinking or filling your water bottle. The bed was very comfortable. There were four pillows on the bed, two different sizes, but both sizes were hard and uncomfortable. I was very happy to use the washer and dryer, although it was in use frequently even after 10pm and before 7:30am! The Puccini blue room was up three flights of stairs and there is no elevator. Be aware that the stairs are old, very steep, and not level in some areas. Even though the location is in the city center, noise was not a problem. For breakfast consider Panos at 96 Veldstraat (open very early with fresh baked pastries) and Le Pain Quotidien at 10 Kalandeberg (open at 8am with heavenly raspberry tarts). There were only two small knobs on the wall of the hallway to hang clothing. There were no hooks for clothing on the wall in either the sleeping room or the bathroom area. There is neither a closet nor a clothing rack with hangers. The bed covering was a heavy comforter, without a top sheet, which is is very common now. A top sheet on the bed would be nice, because sometimes the comforter gets too hot at night.

Er was een ventilator aanwezig, die kwam goed van pas. Ik had bij het boeken niet door dat er niks van keukentje (of bestek bv.) aanwezig is. Het was me blijkbaar niet duidelijk dat het alleen over een kamer ging. Maar al bij al was het prima: een goed bed in een ruime kamer met een schone badkamer.

• Jutta (8/5): Room Pucchini - Prima waren die Vorabinformationen und der Email-Kontakt mit Tom. Danke für die immer schnelle Reaktion bzw. Hilfe bei Anfragen. So konnte ich mir einen weiteren Bettbezug holen als Ersatz für die sehr warme Bettdecke. Gefallen hat mir die geschmackvolle Gestaltung des Raums und das Mobiliar. Gut war auch der Kühlschrank im Treppenhaus. Die Lage war für mich gut (wenn auch recht laut) - 30 min zu Fuß zum Bahnhof, 10 min zur Kathedrale. Muffiger Geruch im Treppenhaus. Da die Bettwäsche auch dort gelagert wurde, hatte diese ebenfalls einen leicht muffigen Geruch. Umgebung relativ laut. Leider habe ich aufgrund der Stechmücken keine der 7 Nächte durchgeschlafen. Morgens war ich immer zerstochen. Ein Fliegengitter vorm Fenster wäre daher hilfreich. Ich war geschäftlich unterwegs und hätte mir einen Kleiderständer o. ä. gewünscht, um meine Kleidung aufzuhängen und nicht auf dem Tisch bzw. Stuhl zu lagern. Gut wäre im Sommer einfach ein dünnes Bettlaken.

• Isabelle (10/5): Amazing stay in the perfect location - Bed was comfortable and the room was beautiful. Great location and the bath in the room was a lovely touch. No fan and it was quite hot. There was road noise but that is to be expected with the location and didn't hinder our stay.

• Kocak (9/5): With its location, cleanliness and easy check-in and check-out, it is a property I would consider staying at again when - Check-in and check-out processes were contactless and quite easy. The property’s location was excellent-it was right across from the opera house and just a few minutes’ walk from the city center. Having the bathroom and toilet seperate from the room gave a sense of home comfort. The fridge in the common area was not secure; the wine we placed there was gone the next day somehow.

• Ian (9/5): Superb - Great location. Visitor before apparently damaged bed and room. I had a brand new bed and mattress. Some smell of paint first day. Only issues were that shower had fancy taps and had only a small sweet spot for water to close. Also, stairs are a little steep. No problem for me (I’m 64 in good shape) but might be a challenge for those with more limited mobility. Overall great place

Room was nice and spacious, however not the cleanest It was a bit dirty, especially in the bathroom, also if you have a lot of luggage mind that there is no elevator and it can be an issue to get heavy stuff all the way up the stairs

• David (3/5): Great location but the studio itself was very disappointing and over-priced. - Comfortable bed, great shower Flattering photos - the studio is smaller than it looked. Not clean (hair in shower & on bathroom floor, coffee machine was dirty, dirty rug). Windows don't seal properly - so cold and noisy. Cheap vinyl floor has lifted up (trip hazard, worn). No facility for food waste. Nowhere to put clothes and cases, apart from coat hooks. Facilities listed but not provided: Not carpeted. No washing machine, no hardwood or parquet floor, no iron.
• Julia (10/5): Amazing stay - The location in the city centre, the ambience and the customer service The only small point is that it didn’t have a whole body mirror, which would have been pretty nice! And due to all the check-in forms and requests the mail of the check-in codes got a bit lost

Tom took complete control of the situation, finding us another room, meeting us at the location and sorting out all the payment matters. He stayed in contact at all times and couldn't have been more helpful. We met him at the new venue- he was warm, polite, punctual and apologetic. The new venue was absolutely beautiful. Warm, comfortable, luxurious and the staff we incredibly friendly and helpful. We were blown away with the whole encounter. Although we did not stay at Opera Boutique, I can highly recommend Tom! Nothing. Everything was amazing

• Judith (4/5): Lovely room ruined by mosquitoes - The room itself is lovely. Large bed and lovely view of the opera house across the street I had lots of mosquitoes in the room. Tom was very responsive and although he couldn’t accommodate me to another room he sprayed the room and left a plug in. I couldn’t open the windows and it was hot with no air conditioning. I now have 15 mosquito bites and had no sleep. I’ve come home from a 2 day trip exhausted.
