Guest Reviews
- Tatiana (9/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): Wonderful stay with the most amazing view - The view was outstanding, just gorgeous.
The host very very helpful and lovely man. He made us a great breakfast.
The villa lovely, amazing huge bathrooms and products.
The pool very nice and clean. Extra duvet for my daughter on the sofa bed, there was no blanket for her. It was ok as she just slept in our bed in the end.
- John (10/5): Great villa with amazing view! Will definitely come back! - We spent two unforgettable days at this stunning villa with our family and were absolutely thrilled! The villa is spacious and filled with natural light — we even managed to sleep in all three bedrooms!)) There’s a large living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and even a piano to set the mood. A special highlight is the brand new bed linen — impeccably clean and so soft, we didn’t want to get out of bed!
The infinity pool with ocean view is a dream! It’s especially beautiful in the morning and at sunset. We floated on the pool mats and watched the nearby island through binoculars. There’s a perfect spot for yoga, with all the necessary props provided — yoga with an ocean view is something truly special! I believe if needed, you could even find an instructor. We grilled fresh fish from the local fishermen on the BBQ — everything is well-prepared for a comfortable stay. Big thanks to Ketut for helping us light the fire and clean up afterward!)) And if you’re planning to get a massage, ask for Wayan — it was honestly the best massage of my life!
The location is great: the white sand beach and excellent restaurants are just a 15–20 minute walk away. We also enjoyed horseback riding and diving — both were organized perfectly.
The value for money is excellent. This villa is a real gem for those who appreciate comfort, privacy, and a beautiful, aesthetic atmosphere. Highly recommended from the heart!
- Monica (8/5): Very good -
- Uliana (10/5): View Worth 100 Million! Cleanliness, infinity pool, all amenities - View Worth 100 Million!A panoramic view of the ocean, the island across, palm trees, and the rooftops of village houses. You sit atop a hill in your villa and take it all in! Gorgeous sunsets, the best sunset point without even leaving home, all in complete privacy. The atmosphere at the villa is peaceful, calm, and relaxing. We slept very well; it was quiet, and the beds and linens were comfortable. Breakfast wasn’t included in our booking, but they provided a complimentary grocery basket with everything you need for breakfast, which was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. They also offered to arrange breakfast cooking for an additional charge (which seemed reasonably priced), but we declined as we enjoy cooking ourselves. For dinner, we went to Vincent's restaurant, only a 5-minute drive from the villa. The food there is delicious, and they have live jazz on Saturdays, though unfortunately, we visited during the week.
I must mention the pool separately – super comfy floating mats, refreshing cool water, and a breathtaking view from the infinity pool!
Great communication with the villa staff through WhatsApp – they responded quickly, and everyone was very pleasant and friendly. Monkeys visited us, took a look at us, but the villa manager advised us not to feed them or leave food outside. We followed the advice, and after jumping around the roofs for a while, they left. It was fun to watch them, and apparently, they enjoyed watching us too!
Overall, we loved the villa – everything was very comfortable and beautiful, with lots of flowers and charming details, and plenty of space! There are also two massage tables on-site, but we didn’t have time to try the massages, as our stay was short. The nearest store is about a 7-minute walk, as the villa is on a hill. However, this is also its advantage – it’s what makes the villa unique with its views and complete privacy. But in reality, the villa has a snack bar, and you can buy all the necessary products and drinks without leaving the property. Plus, the villa assistant could probably help bring groceries if needed.
We wanted to stay one more night, but unfortunately, everything was booked. We didn’t realize there was so much to explore in the area – we only found out from the welcome book at the villa. It would be nice if guests were informed about this in advance.
But overall, everything was amazing – one of the best villas in Bali.
- Maria (4/5): Noisy, very expensive not worth the money - It's a beautiful villa.
The owners/staff are very friendly. 1. The location- there is nowhere to go in the vicinity. Due to other disadvantages we wanted to leave the villa for the day.
2. Terrible noise during the day/night. You'd like to relax and chill but you actually can't. The noise was so bad during the night that I was waking up many times at night.
3. Breakfast and daily service is not provided so instead of enjoying every moment of your stay you need to cook and clean all day. Unless you order food which is not a very cheap option.
4. The swimming pool was very cold, there wasn't any moment during the day that the sun actually hit it. Not even once I took a dip in!
5. No washing machine.
6. Fire ants invasion. They were everywhere in the living room/kitchen. They bite and it hurts.
7. Not worth the money! It was extremely expensive. The rate per day is for a luxury stay with all the possible comfort. You will never get it. It's unfortunate that I haven't read any sincere review before booking it so I decided to make a good deed for other travelers.
You're welcome.
8. The area is very busy, too much traffic all day. It's better to go somewhere else.
- Guarducci (10/5): Great authentic stay in Candidasa - Villa Maya is a dream house with an amazing view over the north east coast of Bali. The property has an authentic Balinese vibe, as well as everything one might even think of: from kitchen utilities to toiletries, from incense to floating mattresses for the pool. We were surprised by how big the villa is, there is definitely enough space for several couples to relax and enjoy their time in Candidasa. Gusti, the manager, is incredibly kind and helpful, very responsive to any kind of request. We couldn’t ask for a better stay. Nothing, everything was perfect. We read reviews complaining about monkeys intruding in the house, but if you follow Gusti instructions nothing of sort is going to happen.
- Jakub (8/5): Very good -
- Freek (10/5): Thé place to stay in Candi Dasa. - Top Location, Amazing views, Great service from the staff, who were always available.
- Priscilla (7/5): Great views and loved the pool. - Great views and massive rooms Property wasn't serviced every day
- Zoltán (10/5): A unique experience which I would recommend to any adventurous type of groups (families, friends...) - Breathtaking view, spacious even for 6 people, comfy beds, nice pool, friendly and helpful staff, meal ordering very easy. Gusti as villa manager did great; he would have helped with anything we requested.
There are some really nice beaches nearby (15-25 mins walking distance), but these are not for those who'd prefer well-equipped beaches.
The villa is located in a very authentic part of Sendkidu, a village right next to Candidasa. We met some monkeys and even a bat one night, but we never felt unsafe. It was truely a great experience!!! Some minor things like maybe some more dryers for the wet stuff, but the truth is we did not ask for it. If we did so, probably Gusti and his staff would have provided it as well.
- Emma (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (8/5): Even though there were some minor "issues" we would come again and loved the stay at Maya Villa - the villa has this amazing view accross the settlement and the coconut trees straight onto the sea and Nusa Penida in the distance. the pool was cool but enjoyable. there were plenty of towels and the staff was always ambitious to bring what we needed... more towels, extension cords, etc. They also helped us to organise scooters as it is absolutley necessary to have some private transportation. And they brought us fresh strawberries one day. There was complimentary bottled water and a bowl of fruits available. In the fridge was a little minibar with moderate prices. They warned us for the monkeys in the area which was good as we had some trouble with them a day before we left. We called the staff for cleaning the mess they made and they came right away to set up the balcony again. Communication was always easy and they replied within minutes. We had booked the villa because the description said it had 3 bedrooms and a sleeping couch in the lounge. When we arrived it turned out to be a false information. we asked for 2 sheets to be able to use the sofa in the lounge even though it was not meant to sleep on. Unfortunately it was impossible to dim the room, so my son woke up very early during our stay. They 4th bathroom attached to the lounge was perfect, only it didn't have hot water. So all in all it was bearable but the description was not correct on booking.com.
And the other thing that was petty, was the fact that we were charged 40.000 IDR for one broken glass. We were honest and told about it, could have blamed the monkeys for it.......I think for that price per night it was a bit inappropriate.
- Marco (10/5): We liked everything, nice place and spacious villa. Polite and responsive staff. We will be back again, but for a long - Very cozy and clean villa on the hill! Spent a few days there with friends. We cooked mostly at home, the kitchen has everything for this, but we also used food delivery a couple of times, everything was delicious. From the villa there is a very beautiful view of the sea, you can admire it directly from the bed on the second floor. The sea is 15 minutes walk, which was a very pleasant daily walk for us. There is a hill next to the villa, with stunning views of the surrounding area. I also really liked the gazeba where you can freely do yoga with friends, there is enough space.
