• Sharon (10/5): Welcoming, peaceful, calm & beautiful stay - This lodge was like a home from home. The hosts are so friendly, warm and welcoming and everything has been thought of. The arrival wine, chocolates, fresh bread and muffins were exceptional. The relaxing beautiful gardens are amazing to unwind in or wake up to and the fresh eggs from their chickens were delicious. Our stay though for very sad reasons, couldn’t have been better. Nothing not to like.

• Hornett (10/5): Exceptional - We loved absolutely everything, the grounds are stunning and the accommodation is exceptional. The bed and pillows are great even asked where to get the pillows. The cottage has absolutely everything you could possibly need, the patio is a little sun trap. We will be going again very soon. I could not find anything I disliked.

• Alison (10/5): Treat yourself to a stay here. - Really pleasant hosts, Danny & Deborah, who work very hard to keep their property immaculate and comfortable. They are very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them to make our stay perfect. The accommodation was so lovely too, very comfortable and clean with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful views into the amazing garden. Great little patio area to sit and eat and enjoy good weather. The garden is also for guests to enjoy, containing chickens, ducks, fish and a magnificent cockerel. It is full of herbs, flowers, trees, shrubs and is maintained to a very high standard. The village is so peaceful. We went into Knott End which is 2 or 3 minutes by car. The chip shop (Knott end Chippy) is very good value for money. I had a small piece of fish which was a decent size and very fresh tasting with delicious batter. Chips excellent too. Staff very friendly and greeted every customer on arrival. The Cheese Shop l would also recommend. The lady assistant was very knowledgeable and helped us make a selection of delicious cheeses. Dawn's tea shop was another treasure. Lovely coffee and choice of breakfast, lunch or snacks, also available for takeaway. Staff very friendly and chatty, they couldn't do enough for their customers. The northerners are incredibly friendly and make you feel so welcome everywhere. We enjoyed a fantastic break and would highly recommend staying in this exceptional accommodation, with Danny and Deborah at the helm. We really didn't want to leave. Absolutely nothing.

• Claire (9/5): Superb - Warm welcome and milk, wine and chocolates were a thoughtful touch. The owners helped carry my luggage which was very kind. Lovely and clean and cosy. Heating was on when I arrived and I was shown how to work the fire. Bed comfortable and beautiful surroundings. Felt like home from home. When the snow hit, I was allowed to take my time checking out which was excellent. I will definitely go back when I can. Just one little thing....I couldn't get the shower to be a comfortable heat. It was either freezing or burning hot. Not sure if that was me.
