• Mariah (10/5): Amazing place to stay in a quiet little town - We loved the pool and the view. We also used the kitchen near the pool to make dinner one night which was nice and we loved hanging out with the cats and dogs outside!
• Chantal (8/5): Très bien - La magnifique terrasse et l’accueil personnalisé sur la table. La piscine La proximité de la gare et des départs pour les croisières sur le Douro. Les photos sont conformes mais j’ai cru que j’aurais accès directement à la terrasse de mon appartement. Hors l’appartement 1 est situé au premier niveau dont très sombre. Il faut monter 2 étages pour avoir accès à la terrasse et avoir de la lumière naturelle.

• heidi (9/5): The best terrace ever - The panoramic view of the terrace was excellent. The apartment was clean and the location was good, just a few minutes from the main street. The owners helped us with a great local driver to visit a winery. Due to central location there was quite a lot of noise in the evening, so earplugs are recommended. From the information I thought the terrace & pool would be private, but it was shared with several flats (still very quiet) in May, at least.

• CESAR (7/5): Apartamento limpio y con todos los servicios con desayuno muy mejorable - Buena ubicación a 100 metros de la estación de tren. Apartamento limpio y con todos los servicios. La zonas comunes (piscina, terraza, tumbonas) están muy bien. Los grifos hacen ruido. El desayuno no cumplió mis expectativas. Creo que se podían esmerar algo más en cantidad y, sobre todo, en calidad. Al llegar te dejan cuatro cosas muy básicas. En la nevera 4 lonchas de jamón de york y otras 4 de queso de barra y un yogur natural. Por el precio que pagas se podían esmerar un poco más en eso. Te dejan un bollito de pan al llegar para que lo desayunes al día siguiente. Es decir, desayunas un pan del día anterior. En otras casas que he estado te dejan pan del día a la puerta a primera hora de la mañana. Son detalles que deben de mejorar.

• Leanne (9/5): A great little apartment in the center of Pinhao with a charming rooftop pool - Perfectly located mere mins walk from Pinhao station, our lovely host had stocked the fridge with some essentials foods & fruit so we didn't have to stress about finding groceries straight away Sweet little apartment, with master bedroom & single room, with a living room & full kitchen. Shower was great pressure (which is a must for me!) The host has a few adorable mixed dogs who are so friendly & cute as well as some cats who love to chill. The pool is a great size for the 3 apartments in total, and has a sweet view of the surrounding area. Personally, would have loved a brighter light/little desk lamps or something - yellow lighting tho comforting made it a bit difficult to work & the downstairs apartment we were in, doesn't get as much light as the upstairs ones right by the pool

Anfitriones encantadores, amables y pendientes de cualquier cosa que puedas necesitar. Sin duda, para volver en otras ocasiones. Tania y su familia fueron unos excelentes anfitriones. A poca distancia a pie de la estacion de tren, de pequeños supermercados y tiendas de alimentacion. Conocidas bodegas tambien a pocos metros dando un agradable paseo. El apartamento es amplio, cómodo, con una pequeña zona exterior y extremadamente limpio.

Y este sitio las tiene, y además cuenta con una suficiente piscina para refrescarte en las calurosas tardes de verano desde donde poder contemplarlas. El apartamento es sencillo pero operativo, tal vez le falta un poco de luz natural al salón-cocina donde desayunar o comer, al menos en el apartamento en el que estuvimos nosotros alojados. Tables and chairs in the pool area meant meals could be enjoyed with the views. The breakfast provisions were fabulous and we enjoyed the daily bread delivery.

The apartment was very well equipped, refreshingly cool the rooftop swimming pool was amazing! The whole place was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Lots of goodies provided for breakfast and the hosts couldn’t have been friendlier. Definitely recommend. No negatives at all

• Isabella (10/5): A nice apartment in a beautiful setting with very generous hosts - The views were really nice from the outdoor area - even though it is shared there are lots of places to relax and hangout so still feels private. The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating, providing a full breakfast and a welcoming atmosphere. The apartment was clean with everything as described, aircon was really good and exactly what we needed after 40 degree heat!

The view of the valley from the pool area was beautiful. Lighting could be better in the kitchen and bathroom.

Next generation has joined the family of hosts. The host remembered me from a previous visit a couple of years ago. Brekfast included and provided on request. Lighting can be improved since the apartment is quite dark and currently a bit “gloomy” in a cold blue light.

Perfect for dropping off the bags and going for winery tour. yes, it's little hilly way up. Room : It's a whole apartment, not just a single studio type room. Fully equipped kitchen, living room is well set up to relax. I found beds are comfier than average vacational rental ones. Clean & Spacious! Hospitality : Owner welcomed us upon arriving, explained few details might be tricky for travelers, like how to lock the door. She provided us coffee & tea, breakfast items & snacks. I believe breakfast is not included but it was thoughtful gesture since there is not much around the town, especially in off season. Feels right away that she genuinly cares, hence excellent reviews all around. I had a little question to ask prior to check-in, but only fast way to communicate is to call. Since i don't speak in portuguese with no local voice calling option, contacted through booking.com but never got answered in time. Wish there is a direct email address or sns message options, so google can translate it.

• Groom (8/5): I'm glad we booked Casa Nunes and would return if we ever go to Pinhao again. - The location was perfect especially as my father is elderly and couldn't walk for miles. Almost right opposite the pretty train station and very close to restaurants and little supermarkets. Right in the middle of Pinhao, which is stunning. The hosts were very kind and friendly and put in a load of washing for us, and even hung it out to dry when we were out. Very clean and comfortable property, nice large double bed and lovely breakfast delivered daily. The host speaks very good English which is a bonus! Really nice little swimming pool on the top level with a great view. Probably more comfortable for two, rather than three adults, the second bedroom is small and bed narrow - perfect for a child, but my father was comfortable enough. Very hard to find fault - perhaps a little more than one half of loo roll and soap provided as standard would be nice, and the property is on a residential street so there is a little noise outside, but nothing major.

• Lisa (10/5): Fantastic, amazing, incredible - The Airbnb flat has everything you could possibly need. We arrived late in the evening, and the owner was waiting near the train station to greet us, she pointed out the best route to take to the house and that the key was in the door. Once in, the flat was clean, towels (including beach towels provided) and the Aircon was on, so it was lovely and cool! In the morning, breakfast was served in a basket left outside our door at 8am, and there was an array of options, from bread rolls, to croissants and yoghurt and fruit. We plated up our breakfast and took it upstairs to the shared terrace by the pool, where we enjoyed it with a view - and what a view! The owner continuously offered the use of the washing machine, which we did not need but was nice to know it was available. On our last day, we double checked the check out time and even though there was an hour before our train was due, we were offered to leave our bags in a cupboard downstairs. Our last breakfast came extra loaded, so we enjoyed making sandwiches to eat on the train. Highly highly recommend! It was perfect in every way

They even did our laundry for us! Each morning we had a delicious (and huge) breakfast waiting for us by our door. The pool/spa deck looks out to a beautiful view of the Douro River. The neat apartment has several bedrooms and super clean bathroom! If you visit Pinhao, stay here! You will not regret it!

The hospitality here is second to none. Traditional family home with a couple of apartments to let. Everything you could possibly need. A lovely breakfast hamper delivered in the morning. Beautiful pool with spectacular views. Close to the station, to the river, the winery’s. Would highly recommend. Nothing not to like.

The pool was inaugurated only months ago and it was heavenly to sit by the patio and swim, wine/dine and enjoy the Duero views. Lighting for steps going up to pool area missing. Not very clear from booking advert that you'll be sharing the outdoor/terrace/pool facilities with another 2 or 3 guests in adjoining flats.

• Heather (8/5): Lovely apartment, lovely host but has a few issues. - This was a lovely apartment. It was clean and comfortable and central to most things. A simple breakfast was provided which isn't mentioned on booking.com. As other reviewers have said, the apartment is under the family home and we can hear noise as soon as they get up. There's noise during the day but not at night. It's also a little dark as the light to some of the windows is covered by the next floor.

The apartment was quite dark and the bed needed the mattress replacing since the sides had collapsed. It all felt a little tired and dated and compared to others we stayed in in north Portugal was quite expensive for the standard offered.

• Amanda (5/5): Disappointed with noisy accommodation, invisible host and Pinhao - We liked the idea it was private, however, it wasn’t. We liked the idea of the pool and the terrace, however, we were not able to use them due to the weather. The breakfast basket had nice food in it, but the apartment wasn’t very well equipped given there were no scissors to open the milk carton with. It wasn’t private and it was too noisy. There are two apartments next to each other with paper thin walls and no insulation. These are then both underneath the owner’s accommodation. We could hear the noise the people next to us were making so turned the TV on your drown it out. We could hear vehicles in the street. The main bedroom doesn’t have a blind and curtains which fit properly so the street light is coming in as it is right next to the window. We had to use a quilt cover to block it out. We heard the owners getting up and moving around from 06.00 onwards. We never met the hosts at all, which we felt was unfriendly and poor. A basket with some breakfast items was left outside in a table at about 07.15. There is no parking except on the street outside.

• Anne (9/5): Casa Nunes was a perfect apartment for us to explore Pinhao. - The roof top garden with the pool was a perfect place to relax at the end of the day. The breakfast was plentiful with a range of treats. Our host was generous and friendly and we had a perfect few days of walking, eating and drinking in Pinhão from this well located apartment. Nothing to dislike!
