Guest Reviews
- Riccardo (10/5): Ottima esperienza a Mirissa - Struttura situata in fondo ad una piccola strada sterrata raggiungibile solo tramite Tuk tuk o motorino. Struttura graziosa, pulita e ben curata!
- Louise (10/5): Very nice, breakfast was lovely.. just watch for the monkeys as they like it to 😂 - Very nice place! Photos don’t do it justice, staff are so kind and welcoming, and are always willing to help with anything
- Ben (10/5): - The hosts were absolutely amazing! So kind and helpful! Breakfast was amazing, lots of monkeys but added to the experience.
- Layla-Rose (8/5): - Lovely family. Big room, warm shower, short walk to the beach and into the main area. Can see monkeys from the room. Some worms would come into the bathroom at night but I’m sure that cannot be helped.
- Cassandra (8/5): Amazing - The room was very clean, big and good located.
The owners were so kind and gave us a fresh juice as welcome.
Very close to the town but very far away from the noise.
I really recommend

** Excellent breakfast/ dinner served.
** Offered coffee/tea each morning and throughout the day, even without taking meals.
** Good-sized terraces to watch the monkeys daily.
** Hosts look after the garden and property well.
** Kind hosts are willing to provide cups, glasses, and a kettle, perfect for a longer stay.
** Property is safe & secure, also with security cameras.
** Very convenient tuk-tuk service provided by a close neighbour, with good rates.
** Property is in the heart of a small, quiet, community, surrounded by friendly, smiling, beautiful people and children. My son-in-law would join in games of cricket with the children.
THANKING the Hosts for a wonderful stay ♥️.
We will be back! Nothing really to dislike 🙂.
- Merle (7/5): - De locatie is heel erg fijn. Je zit overal dichtbij, maar niet aan de drukke weg. De eigenaren zijn super vriendelijk. Het is vrij simpel, maar dat was voor ons voor 1 nacht prima.
- Katarína (9/5): Superb -
- Tara (8/5): Very good -
- Maëlle (10/5): Amazing stay. The best balance in Mirissa - It is a perfect location, in the city center but three minutes by walk from the road so you don’t hear a sound of the crazy road of Mirissa. Truly appreciated this cosy atmosphere, three minutes from the beach, and everything else. The family is the sweetest, they will treat you as you were part of the family whilst making sure of your privacy. Nothing was bad. There is even a light switch next to the bed which is not usual in Sri Lanka ;)
- Grace (8/5): Great experience and value for money! - Lovely big room, comfy bed and nice veranda. Very friendly family.
- Barrie (7/5): Short stay in Mirissa. - Lovely family run hotel all very friendly. Quiet. Excellent breakfast- make sure you are hungry. Decent sized rooms. The location is good for Turtle Beach and Mirissa Beach. The hotel is reached by a 3-4 minute walk along a narrow track so be prepared with your luggage.
It is also a 25 minute walk into town and harbour area. Tuktuk time.
- Till (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place, wonderful people!:)
- Charlotte (8/5): We got use to the stairs to access the short cut to the property. - The views were outstanding It’ would be tricky if you had large suitcases
- Stephen (10/5): Lovely - Really great place for the money. Would highly recommend. Had laundry done cheaply and well. Great breakfast too.
- Magdalena (9/5): Good value for money in Mirissa - The room was comfortable and clean. Close to the turtle beach, in the quiet spot of Mirissa.
Staff was very helping and welcoming. I recommend it!
- Maciej (10/5): A quiet place off to the side, yet still close to the beach, run by a friendly and helpful family - They prepared me a welcome drink. Comfortable bad :)
- Hannah (9/5): Excellent accommodation with great hosts - Really nice place, good location, quiet and with good facilities and lovely hosts There is short walk from the road to reach the property which is fine most of the time but at night a little scary
- Buwanekawije (10/5): Exceptional service - Location, Friendly service. You can't ask for more. Exceptional
- Pasan (10/5): Exceptional - Don't think twice in booking this place. Well worth for the price you pay and the location is ideal. The hosts are kind and attentive.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Great location to get to Turtle beach (next to Mirissa beach). Owners are really lovely. Breakfast is huge and really tasty. Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We slept really well. There were monkeys in the trees just above the room which were fun to watch while we had breakfast.
- Bemnet (9/5): Superb -
- Celine (9/5): Superb - I loved the silence of the place and the hospitality. It was such a lovely family.
- Ann-kristin (10/5): Exceptional - Best hotel we had on our tour. Clean room with everything needed. Located really quietly. No blankets on the bad and the bathroom door can not be locked.
Good to get the info where to find the place. Without that would be difficult.
- Janina (8/5): Very good -
- Federica (8/5): Great accommodation -
- Samsonová (8/5): Very good - Nice, clean, comfortable. Big breakfast. Very good security. Just few minutes from beach. Very good choice.
- Roosa (7/5): Nothing speacial in the place - Okay place There was nothing speacial in this place.. in the bathroom there was a lot of mold on the roof. Also, the laundry was supposed to be 400 rupiis but they took 2000 rupiis (im sure I didint have 5 kg of clothes I gave them!!) And my phone was broken, they just told I need to leave for another town but dit nothing to try to help.
- Emilia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ivan (8/5): Excellent - The family running the hostel is really charming, always there and with an exceptional breakfast. Location is 10mins walking to the main beach and restaurants and the neighborhood is quiet and full of animals, and trees. Definitely if I come back to Mirissa I will stay in same place I would recommend to buy a couple more fans for the rooms, because with the hot sometimes is difficult to sleep only with the ceiling one. Other than that is a good place to spend a few days.
- Marianna (10/5): It was great! We liked our staying in this place very much. The family is very friendly and willing to solve all your p - Location
Tasty breakfasts
Hospitality of the owners
Cleanliness of the room
Internet Everything was great!
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable stay. A great sized room and bathroom with new facilities in a good location near Mirissa Beach. The host was very responsive over message and the breakfast was delicious.
The property is beautiful but accessed via an alley way. I had no problems and wouldn't second think booking if more than one person however wanted to flag for a solo traveller as a consideration.
- Claudia (9/5): Superb - Great location, amongst the jungle you definitely get to see monkeys which is a huge bonus! The hosts are super lovely and the rooms are pretty spacious and very clean
- Marius (9/5): Thanks for a Nice stay. Real value for money place. - I liked the rooms and the location alot.
The host was a joy Aswell. All good.
- Deborah (10/5): A hidden gem. - The squeegee mop in the bathroom! (For that alone I would award 7 stars.) What every bathroom needs, but only this guesthouse has had one. Lovely hosts. Magnificent breakfast. Unfortunately the ceiling fan had only two speeds, tornado or off. But a stand fan wad provided instead.
- Jem (8/5): A lovely place for a short stay in Mirissa - Super clean, lovely fresh coconut on arrival, very friendly owners, the facilities were good, the room had space and a little balcony outside! No complaints really
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Danilova (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing room with a huge bed! I would love to come back All was good!
- Aman (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): amazing stay! thank you for everything! - We loved our stay at Garden Inn! The room was big and comfortable, the breakfast super yummy and the family simply amazing! nothing
- Justyna (10/5): Absolutely lovely experience! - I booked 2 nights in Garden Inn initially but ended up staying 3. The family running the place is the loveliest and kindest. When I arrived I was offered tea which really made my day, as it was really long and tiring. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Its a quiet area, but at the same time a short walk from the main road. You'll have a good sleep there. You will be offered breakfast at an extra cost but it's always a very big portion of Sri Lankan style meal with fruits for dessert and tea/coffee. Most probably you'll see monkeys playing in the garden. Incredible! The owner helped me with my bags which I really appreciated. All in all, highly recommended!
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Loved the breakfast as well. Absolutely worth the money
- Linn (10/5): Exceptional - We did really in joyed garden in, the owners are really cute, nice and helpful and warm hearted! We got some welcome juice then we arrived, a nice clean room with your own entrance and garden furniture. We liked sit outside with a tea and playing cards! Beautiful garden with monkeys and baby monkeys 🤩 the only thing thats not working that well was the wifi it was slow but 🤷🏽♀️ we did really like that we had so close to both parrot rock and coconut tree hill and restaurants by the beach 😃
- Wendy (10/5): Marvellous - Circled the country and this has definitely the best and most copious breakfast. Off the main road via tiny street next to ‘concept la mer’. Close to turtle beach. Open since march 2023 only. Very clean rooms, good mattress. If you want fish, eat on the beach. If you are in for a curry, try the home made one here. Freshly made and delicious. That we couldn’t stay longer 🥲
- Lukas (5/5): Passable - Property was a bit far from things. Our main issue revolved around the lock on the door. The lock was so cheap that it “broke” while trying to enter the room. All of the sudden the lock cost nearly as much as o e nights stay. The lock could very likely have been fixed with a screw drive which is what I assume was done as soon as we left. Needless to say a lock should not come apart while opening the door.
- Rabea (7/5): Good value place in Mirissa - Nice host extremely polite Difficult to find the place on a long small road opposite of main road super dark in the evening
I did not felt confortable to walk alone on a dark
- Jolanta (10/5): The best stay in Mirissa. The owners are so seeet and welcoming and they will definitely spoil you. Choose their breakfa -
- Aylin (10/5): Hidden Gem in the Jungle - We loved this place - I absolutely adore this place! The rooms are exceptionally new and impeccably clean, boasting spacious bathrooms with excellent water pressure. The king-size bed, complete with a mosquito net, is very comfortable, and the room also includes a large fan (there are also rooms with aircon) and a charming terrace. The WiFi here is fast and reliable. Nestled amidst the serene beauty of the jungle, you can even spot monkeys and peacocks. Additionally, it's just a 5-minute stroll to the beach and nearby restaurants. The family that runs this place is genuinely the warmest and most accommodating I've encountered in Sri Lanka. Don't miss the opportunity to savor their exquisite curry; it's truly the best! The Garden Inn has a unique way of making you feel right at home. I've been here before, and I'd return in a heartbeat. While the road leading to the accommodation is narrow, Tuk Tuks can effortlessly navigate it, and it's just a short walk from the main road. Nothing, everything is perfect!
