- Margaret (8/5): We had a great time if a little dirty by the end. We didn’t chance a shower on the second day - All great apart from shower. Only hot water for half a shower. None for second person The shower water
- Paula (10/5): Beautiful scenery and the perfect location. Hope to stay longer next time. - The location was amazing and the property itself was lovely and warm (it was a cold weekend so appreciated the rooms being nice and toasty)
Being dog friendly was the bonus when looking for a last minute deal. Nothing, it was ideal for what I wanted.

- Les (7/5): Resting on their laurels?? - Great location near the harbour, pubs and cafes
Bright well designed place. Outside door loose and would open itself if not locked all the time.
No staff on site or cooking facilities.
Tricky, narrow stepped entrance with cases.

- Lorna (3/5): The level of cleanliness was extremely poor and the apartment was way overpriced. - Unfortunately there was very little to like with this property aside from the stunning setting of its location. On arrival, the front door area was unkept and the glass at the side of the door was broken. The apartment itself was small in size and the head height in the bathroom was very low. When we pulled out the couch to make up the second bed, there was a huge build up of dirt behind it, as well as some lego blocks and some food... There were numerous stains on the bedding also. There was absolutely no sound proofing from the apartment above us as we could hear their every foot step from 7a.m the next morning!!
- Kathy (7/5): Location makes this place - Location Dirty entrance door with broken glass. Dirty knives and plate left in dishwasher. Lack of a basic welcome pack, Tea, coffee, milk
- Michelle (7/5): Our stay at The Anchor was fine and met it’s needs. There were some inconveniences that could be overcome, overall a cut - The location was great for the view and proximity to restaurants, bars, the harbour.
The heaters were excellent!
Also we travelled with two kids who used the fold out sofa bed. The great thing about that was given the size/shape of the living space, we were able to leave the sofa in ‘bed mode’ the whole time we were there without feeling like it took up the whole space. We had some issues with the water pressure (resolved the next day by the property manager who was easily reachable). The blue sensor light in the bedroom was a shocker, and the property was very noisy when others were staying in the apartments above. I would have also expected things like enough toilet paper to last the stay, or basics like tea/coffee.
The other thing that surprised us was that the front door and surrounding windows weren’t water tight. We had a couple of days with very heavy rain and it was coming through around the door frame and the individual windows so we got water inside. It’s fine if you’re prepared for that with excess towels to put down to stop the water
- Hewitt (5/5): Location great, worth probably €100 a night less and we could have acccepted its faults. - Location was great. Tired and poorly finished for an expensive property. Broken glass in the front door. Poor locking setup didn’t give confidence when sleeping.
Very annoying blue alarm light every time You move in bed. Not necessary as the sensor could have been installed differently to avoid this. No sleep at all first night.
Very noisy water pump installed in bathroom. Operated independently of our water usage so went on and off all night, again added to poor nights sleep on first night.
Apartment floor was very dirty, toilet dirty, towels and sheets were tired and didn’t look particular clean.
- Frank (7/5): Perfect location, comfortable beds. - Great location. Spacious apartment. Lots of noise from moving cases, furniture (possible pull out sofa bed?) upstairs. Would benefit from soundproofing.
Quite pricey for one night and welcome pack would be appreciated.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (8/5): Overall very good and if you like coastal views and walks then a great place to stay as other beaches are within easy dr - Superb location overlooking the bay and a short walk to the town’s facilities. Kitchen area good. Good sized bedroom with good storage. Smart tv as opposed to a ‘proper’ tv. Don’t have Amazon or Netflix accounts. Having said that probably wouldn’t have watched much anyway as we were out most of the day all week.
- Vladimir (9/5): Superb - Nice location Draught through windows and entry door
- Mee (9/5): Superb. would go back again. - access to lively bars and restaurants. views amazing too. Kyran was extremely helpful. Can get cold quickly but thankfully good heaters in the room.
- Rdmjp (9/5): Superb - Location is perfect Blue Light in the sleeping room
