Guest Reviews
Clima e frigo RARI DA TROVARE IN STRUTTURE DEL GENERE
Senza clima non si dorme la notte!!!perfettamente funzionanti!!!!
camera pulita e letto comodo
Zona perfetta a 1 min dalla spiaggia
Complimenti allo staff molto educati e mai invadenti,

- Laco1313 (8/5): After the renovation, it will be a very nice little resort. - The accommodation is in a good location near the beach. The resort was undergoing renovation, which reduced comfort. However, I was warned about this fact in advance. I appreciate the fact that I was given a significant discount for that reason.
- Intensivka (7/5): Good - Garden was very nice Weak breakfast and our bathroom was terrible..but every room has different bathroom. In other ones it was okay
- Elisabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and the personal is very helpful and always providing extra ordinary and familiar service. They also arrange a very cosy Bon-fire in one evening. Would really recommend this hotel.
- Anna (1/5): DO NOT BOOK! - DO NOT BOOK!
I have stayed in some crappy places but this is definitely the worst. I don’t even know where to start, the hotell is a construction site where they start at 7 am, so do not expect to get any sleep and also have a lot of construction workers just hanging around right outside your room all day. The rooms are unclean (look at my bathtub), and there are ants and bugs inside. The towels were very dirty with paint and we suspect the construction workers have used the room between guests since there is also paint spills in the bathroom. No cleaning took place during our stay, we had to chase people to get more toilet paper. No hot water, electricity and WiFi comes and goes, and sometimes we had no water at all. The staff asked my friend (a girl) if she was married and stared at us. It’s possible to see into the bathroom from the outside and as soon as I tried to shower men started hanging out outside the bathroom window. When I asked them to hang out somewhere else and told them that I wanted to shower in peace they asked if why I didn’t want company. The hotell has no security guard, unlike all other hotells in the area. The room didn’t have fridge, but after two days of complaining I finally got one. And to top it off the beds are barely 170 cm long, so if you are taller than that prepare for your feet to hang over the side of the bed. As soon as another hotel became available we left and we talked to other guests that were doing the same.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Staff are friendly and humble. Rooms were as expected ... clean with air con.
Once we discovered the side exit (behind the breakfast area) it was a quick 2 min walk to the beach. Getting consistent water for the shower was an issue in both rooms.
- Carla (10/5): Relaxing holidays - Excelent location, very close to the beach. The place is quiet and very beautiful.
- Monika (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly stuff. Thank you for great holiday !
- Larisa (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect, just 1 min walk to the best part of the Nungwi beach. The room is large and was clean when we arrived. The staff is nice. The breakfast is good. You can choose between different types of eggs. The garden around the apartment is really beautiful. They only cleaned our room once during our 6 days stay. The bathroom is old. Sometimes is the water from the pipe so hot that you cannot wash your hands.
- Ahmed (10/5): Great, safe hotel to stay in beside the beach - The place was so nice and quiet. Although it looked simple it had absolutely everything I needed. Kettle, tea and teacup, aircon and fan, private clean bathroom with soap holders and even a tap to wash my feet off from the beach outside. The trees outside are actual fruit trees so it's nice to walk around.
Literally a stones throw from the beach. If you walk two minutes left as well there's a massive food court buzzing with life which was fun to discover.
The staff were so friendly and active too. One of the staff were even getting rid of bugs from outside my room without me even asking them. They were kind but not overbearing and gave me the peace I needed.
Bed was comfy. I had hot water in my shower. My room was beside reception but my wifi had 4 bars no matter where I walked in the hotel. I felt very safe too because the place didn't have a bright neon sign pointing to where it was so no persistent vendors could easily follow me home.
Breakfast was freshly made and nice. Seasonal fruits, toast with egg and tea/coffee. Would definitely come back again. I just had to ask for someone to check my hot water but it was resolved very quickly. Everything else was perfect
- Janja (7/5): Good - There is no shared kitchen.
- Olesia (9/5): cozy place to stay. great value for money - The staff, territory, location - everything was great. Very nice place to stay! the beach is right "around the corner" - literally 2 minutes! nothing.
- Melanie (9/5): Nice place close to beach - Very close to beach, only a one minute walk. Loved the room and the beds were super comfortable. AC worked great. Staff were nice and breakfast was good. We came in low season and there were barely any staff there. When we arrived, we searched for a while before we found a staff member who checked us in.
Also they locked the hotel gates so we could not get in when we came back at 11pm. Had to call the hotel number on a local line to get someone to come open it for us. I thought we were going to have to climb the fence!
- Lee (9/5): Superb - Nice staff, very clean and tidy, location is also really nice.
Shuttle service is also good.
- Lucy (9/5): good - We have stayed here 6 nights. Bagamoyo has a beautiful garden and clean airconditioned rooms just a few steps from the beach. The area is quiet and calm. The rooms are simple but have everything you need. The stuff is kind and helpful. /
- Destin (7/5): good and satisfied - location, food, the staff, the room,
- Jordancho (7/5): Good -
- Petrus (9/5): Cite nice place which is affordable and clean - Its cute, relaxt and got everything you need Maybe some toiletwries for the shower or more toiletpaper
- Melody (7/5): Good - I didnt have any of the breakfast available to me
They could make a plan for international visitors by having proper adaptors for power banks / cell phones The kitchen could be cleaner
- Monika (10/5): Exceptional - the breakfast was good, if you asked for it, they adjusted it a bit for you
the staff was very nice, helpful, if we needed something they quickly provided it without us asking them
the accommodation is simpler but 100% sufficient, we were satisfied with everything nothing
- Irene (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed staying at Bagamoyo - We have just stayed for 3 weeks in the excellent Bagamoyo spice villa in beautiful Zanzibar. It has a beautiful garden and clean airconditioned rooms. Thank you so much for looking after us! Mr Square gave excellent guest attention. Massive thank you to the restaurant staff Islam and Esta who provided everything with a smile and really made it a home from home. Breakfasts were plenty of fruit with toast, crepes, juice and fresh cooked eggs however we liked them including Spanish omelette. Dinner in the restaurant was plentiful with lots of choice. When we went on trips breakfast was provided early. The room had 2 double beds, aircon, fan, walk in shower, fridge and kettle. The beach was less than a minute walk from the gate.
We has excellent trips to Stonetown, the blue lagoon, Nacupenda sandbank and snorkelled at Mnemba and Tumbatu islands seeing dolphins jumping next to the boat. On the day trips we had a lobster, seafood, chips and fruit lunch. For trips I would highly recommend Nassor (+255 777 380 255) from the Union building on the nearest beach. He always made sure we were looked after and if we went in a taxi without him he would meet us at the hotel to show us the taxi and meet us again when we arrived back to make sure the trip was good.
If you like good coffee Victoria has a great coffee shop 1 min walk towards the square. And we would highly recommend the Blue Sea restaurant on the beach - great for sunsets and fabulous food!
We found Zanzibar very safe (violent crime is virtually unheard of even in Stonetown) and the people very friendly and passionate about their beautiful island. The Tanzanian and Masai traders/always had time to chat as well as sell souvenirs. They loved hearing about snow!
Please respect the locals tradition and support their trade - there are many bargains to be found with a bit of friendly negotiation. No one ever seems to get upset and the sayings Hakuna Matata and pole pole (slowly, slowly) aptly describe the vibe here.
- Nisha (7/5): Nungwi overrun by hawkers spoiler to the beach - + proximity to beach 200m
+ Quiet back road
+ ambience
+ Check in times open flexible
+ AC
+ WiFi - taxi charge was high $50
- hawkers on th beach made it not enjoyable to stay longer
- Vladimir (7/5): Good -
- Oleksandr (10/5): Exceptional - Very helpful staff, green territory, good spacious room, close to the ocean.
- Sally (7/5): My stay was very relaxing. Being alone I felt safe and the staff were very friendly and helpful. - The breakfast was very good. I only had one other meal at the hotel but it was good and good value. I was very happy that the hotel changed my room because the bathroom was not suitable for me but the bed in the second room was not comfortable. I think the hotel could be upgraded at very little cost. Better curtains for sure and either some pictures on the walls or murals painted. All these things are readily available to you in the village.
- Maria (10/5): Perfect location and good price! - Location is great! Very basic but also good price. Description of the room on booking.com is not correct. It says walk in shower but was bathtub. It says it includes a kitchenette but it doesn’t. Only a fridge. It also said the room had a big fireplace, which I of course didn’t need but don’t understand why it says so in room description
- Aleksandr (10/5): The most comfortable guest! The beach is close, good breakfasts and lovely rooms. It's a pity that I only spent a fe - Chill zone
- Moneva (8/5): Very good -
- Plotor (10/5): Just Fantastic!!! - I loved everything! The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. My room (109) was perfect, I always slept very well. The fresh cooked food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner.
The garden was great. The nearest beach it's only 3 minutes away. I strongly suggest the Bagamoyo Spice Villa!!! The only improvement colud be a forniture to put the clothes on/in, I had to leave my small suitcase on the fridge.
- Lesley (7/5): the staff were great😀 - it was very close to the beach. needs a long mirror in the room. 1 on the walk in the bathroom isn’t enough!
- Lesley (7/5): there is always room for improvement anywhere you stay! but we couldn’t fault the staff. they were great. nov 2023 - the property. is very close to the beach. the staff were very nice and helpful. it really needs a long mirror in the room. one small one in the bathroom isn’t enough! and a few up dates here and there!
- Janis (9/5): Green peaceful oasis next to beach in the center of Nungwi for budget price. - Very close to beach, big spacious grounds with trees and green, and very quiet. Nungwi is a dense village, with people on top of one another, and lots of big crowded hotels. I was surprised to find such green oasis of peace so close to the beach for a price of budget hotel. Wanted to book my next stay there. Sadly it was already fully booked. Obviously. Very good breakfast served nicely in the garden, plentiful, well presented and delicious Everything ideal.
- Laurent (7/5): Well placed - Location close to the beach and restaurants, friendly staff, fresh fruit juice at breakfast. External foot-washing shower at the entrance to the room.. The bed is too small, I'm 1.87 m tall and my feet were sticking out of the bed. The shower water is boiling hot and dangerous, and takes several minutes to reach the right temperature.
- Hannes (7/5): Good - The quiet and set apart No hot water initially
- Luckyb1rd (7/5): Budget, comfortable accommodation - The proximity with the beach, grounds well kept, Room for improvement in maintenance, shower did not have water at certain times of day. AC was dripping and at arrival I was told it would be fixed the following day, but was fixed on my last day there.
- Angelina (5/5): It was nice and relaxing. The staff was nice and helpful. - The Bagamoyo Spice Villa is close to the beach. Next door you get amazing massage. You are close to the plaza, shopping and night life but the location is nonetheless very peaceful. The internet was unstable. The breakfast was boring. It would have been great with a greater variety of fresh fruit. fruit-salad and fresh juices.
- Jjelnkov (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms are large, simple, clean. The garden was surrounded by a wall and it felt very safe.
The sea is very close - you go out of the gate and you are at the sea.
For breakfast we had pancakes, toasts, fruit, juice, coffee and eggs all kinds of ways.
Nice staff.
- Ekkehard (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Takács (9/5): Superb - Good location. Nice and helpful staff, always with a smile.
The fridge and the kettle were super helpful. We liked tbe the foot washer, it helped to keep the room cleaner. We liked to relax on the balcony.
The garden was nice and well kept, we particularly liked the breakfast area. You could choose the type of egg you want, have fruits and pancake, toast bread, coffee and tea.
2 mins from the ocean, easy to reach multiple beaches and restaurants.
Taxis amd shops nearby. Try Fresh Corner for a non-instant coffee in Nungwi.
You feel safe in this fenced off paradise garden.
Overall a very good value for money! Water pressure could have been better, but it is a minor inconvenience.
More lights would have been nice.
- Moe (8/5): Nearby the beach - Good place with nice clean rooms close to the beach. Good location. Good wifi if your room is close by the office. Helpful & friendly staff. Bkfst was ok, not great. Options could’ve been better. Low pressure water & no hot water at night but it was fixed shortly after we informed the staff.
- Maura (5/5): Passable -
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Dawn (9/5): Great location, quiet, lovely staff, value for money - Close to the beach, staff are so friendly, omelettes where lovely in the morning. Don’t have beer but staff will get you some if needed. (this is just for info, it’s not that I didn’t like it)
- Anastasiya (6/5): Better pay 20% more and stay at a nice hotel - The Villa is really close to two beaches, supermarket, restaurants, and the village. The food in the restaurant is tasty. Staff was friendly. Beds were really comfortable. There was hot water and electricity. There was a space to dry wet beach clothes. The fridge was working and preserved our food from the ants :D We asked the host to provide us transfer from the airport, and they confirmed it 2 times. When we arrived at the airport, no one was waiting for us. It was 3am and a foreign country, and we were really stressed. We had to catch a random taxi. Luckily, the Villa never charged us for the non-existent transfer.
The host will lie to you about what is a fair price for things. For example, they told us 70$ for a car from the airport was a “really good price” when most people pay 40$. The host told us the food in the hotel restaurant is cheap, but in reality it was the same price as the high-end beach restaurants.
The restaurant takes hours to prepare your food. If you come to breakfast at 8am, don’t expect to leave until 9am. If you come to lunch at 1pm, don’t expect to leave until 3pm.
The staff does not speak English very well, and it has caused many misunderstandings. Prepare to explain things in writing and in simple words.
When we arrived at Bagamoyo at 5am, we were put into a double room when we booked a twin room. The staff told us to sleep in the double room till morning, and then they will move us. When we came to breakfast, they told us they will move us at 10am. At 10am, they came and told us to quickly move. We came to the new room, but there was still a person there. We waited for the housekeeper to clean the new room. We finally checked in our room at noon. The Villa has sold our twin room twice for the same night.
The shower has a very weak stream, so you can’t really shampoo your hair.
There are many ants in the room.
- Hassan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charl (6/5): Pleasant -
- Xiuling (10/5): lovely clean place - Nice back door which leads out to the beach. Room has a mini fridge and kettle! NA
- Beáta (10/5): Over the expectations - The staff is very friendly and helpful. They always have a kind word for their guests. Great and plentiful food, very comfortable beds, clean room. The beautiful beach is a minute's walk away. This place is a perfect choice for relaxation.
- Pentti (7/5): Good - Location Na
- ごくろうさん (9/5): Superb - Room is clean. Good location, near from the beach. Staff are so kind. Beautiful garden. There is water point to wash legs in front of room. I'm happy to stay.
- Paulo (8/5): Very good - The room and toilet were big, airy and bright with a balcony. It looks like a village surrounded by nature, which is wonderful to rest during the day. It is 2 minutes walking from the beach and it feels safe. Most of the time the internet didn't work in our room but it was ok in the common areas
- Aaron (8/5): Very good -
- Maria.hs (9/5): Superb - Great location, 1 minute from the beach.
Staff was friendly, we went diving and they made breackfast for us early and let us chek out late. You cpuld hear music from the restaurants in the beach but with earplugs was ok.
- Abdul (7/5): Good -
