Guest Reviews
- Abigail (10/5): - The staff were so nice and always asking how we were doing. They gave us recommendations and tips on navigating the area. It was in a really good location with good food in close walking distance.
- Fernando (10/5): - Lo céntrico y camas muy cómodas El zargazo pero no es culpa del hotel
- Angela (8/5): Staff needs customer service training - Location Staff didn’t meet my expectations. I had to ask for housekeeping. Asked for extra sheets for the pullout bed and the front desk staff made me feel as if I was “sneaking” a 3rd guest. If you want top notch customer service, look elsewhere
- Jourlyn (9/5): -
- Nick (8/5): Great stay in San Pedro - Location & rooms spot on
- Cal (10/5): It was enjoyable. - It’s clean, comfortable and very close to our meeting place. There is really nothing to not like about the place
- Wychor (10/5): - The view was perfect! Loved the location with nearby groceries, restaurants, bars. Very clean.
- Katherine (6/5): This hotel is a good value for its price. It is comfortable and well-located. - The location was very convenient. The room was spacious and clean. Beds were very comfortable. I didn't like that they don't allow more than 4 guest oer room even though there was enough space and beds to accommodate more.
Although it was helpful to have a kitchen, the cook top was weak and very slow to cook on.
I was also slightly disappointed by the beach. It was full of seaweed, was stinky, and not enjoyable.
- Stephen (8/5): Overall a great place for a great price! - Location and staff were exceptional. Room view was awesome! Beds were really soft, bathrooms a bit tight
- Holcomb (7/5): Not Sure What I Think! - Location if you want to be in San Pedro! Smelly from sea grass which is common in San Pedro! Aged, smell, shower pressure!
- César (10/5): Tudo funcionando bem nas dependências do quarto e hotel - Água do chuveiro deveria ser um pouco mais quente
- Dufour (9/5): -
- Victoria (9/5): Great location, large rooms, lovely staff - Big well equipped studio room, very comfortable, everything worked well and the balcony was lovely.
I was a bit worried it was going to be noisy but it wasn’t, not from the street side or the sea front.
Would happily stay here again.
- Gabriela (10/5): Muy lindo excelente trato - Sencillo encantador
- George (8/5): - Localização
- tatum (6/5): - I did like the confusion with the tour.
And then the security guard letting random drunk people up to the hotel room at 2:30 at night to beat on the door even though it was no one in our room. SCARY!
- Charlene (9/5): My stay was absolutely relaxing. - I liked that the property had night security, Mr. Smith was very helpful to both me and my daughter providing information from grocery shopping, dining and sightseeing and being sure that we were safe upon entering at the building at night. Nothing
- Barbara (10/5): Great location, excellent service. Highly recommend! - If you’re looking for a place close to shops and restaurants this is it. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms.
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Julia (9/5): The Mayan is affordable with really nice staff, great location and incredible views! - Being right on the beach with a morning sunrise was amazing. Its location in the center of everything was perfect for walking. The beach was not the best due to boat traffic and seaweed but we knew that going in. It was sometimes noisy from beach goers and dogs barking but that's also to be expected. We moved to another highly rated resort for a few nights at the end of our stay just for a change of scenery, and while it was nice and had some bonuses, in hindsight I would have just stayed at the more affordable Mayan, with an amazing view and sea breezes. Can't beat that. I wished they had some kind of dressers with drawers in the unit. We wanted to settle in totally but we still had to live out of our suitcases which just felt weird, what with having what amounted to an awesome studio apartment on the beach. So, please put in some dressers for people's belongings. Then, it's no secret there is a dog barking problem with the neighboring building. We knew that going in. However it was pretty loud at times and made worse by the echo of the buildings. It would seem the Mayan could look into ways to install some kind of sound proofing to minimize the impacts of the neighbors. We just turned up our white noise machines and were able to tolerate it. We considered this in the price and location and decided it was worth taking the chance, and it was.
- Tracie (8/5): Fantastic stay, cannot wait to return - Great location, and very friendly staff, directly on the beach, wonderful sea views, with plenty to explore and lots of shops all within walking distance, one of the ferry terminals is 100ft away and the other a 10 min walk, SPD airport is a ten minute walk, Internet is a little slow especially when everyone is on the net work
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Central location which was walking distance to a variety of restaurants. Beautiful ocean view that was very relaxing. Staff were very helpful and friendly
- Valdilene (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frederic (7/5): Comfortable stay - Convenient kitchen, comfortable bed, lovely view, very well located and helpful staff A bit old and mosquitoes in the room
- Epps (10/5): Will definitely stay again, beautiful view. - Plenty of places to eat and at reasonable price within walking distance. Don’t need to rent a golf cart to get around unless you want to. Everything is close. If you drink prices are cheap. Staff was very friendly and room was clean and comfortable. Door to balcony wouldn’t close good and leaked air.
- Snehal (7/5): Good -
- Viswanathan (8/5): Very good - Location and ease of access to transport The beachfront is very crowded and the water is ordinary
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sylvie (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly staff, excellent location, very well appointed and clean rooms.
- Anousith (9/5): Superb -
- Viktorija (9/5): Superb - Big nice room with sea view and balcony. Good location. Near airport, shops, restaurants. Shower water runs not properly, sometimes hot, sometimes cold.
- Robin (10/5): Great value with lovely staff - Great location near the ferry terminal Nothing
- Tracy (10/5): It was awesome -
- Tichnell (8/5): Been there done that will never return. - Room was large enough for a longer stay. It was clean and safe. Not a very good beach and the town is horrible. Not a vacation destination.
- Miranda (10/5): 10/10 would recommend staying here! - After a long travel day getting to San Pedro and getting off the water taxi it was so convenient that the hotel is a few second walk to get to!
Room was clean, the most comfortable bed I’ve had in a hotel room, the ladies that work the front desk are friendly and helpful! There was a dog near by that did bark a lot throughout the day/night
- Jordan (7/5): Worth the conveinience of being close to everything! - The location is perfect and is a very safe hotel. The rooms are very big and have everything you might need inside them. The staff are very friendly and there are some great dinner options nearby. Great base for exploring San Pedro and other islands. The shower was a bit poor and the beds are a little uncomfortable. Swimming isn’t great out front here, much better elsewhere.
- Rosita (9/5): Superb - The location and the staff helpfulness Serving breakfast at this location would have been great
- Julie (6/5): Very nice - Location, beautiful room and view, staff especially accommodating No elevator, neighbors dog barked all night
- Mcanea (10/5): A great, short stay in San Pedro - Lovely, well appointed room. Staff friendly and let us leave our luggage in locker for awhile. No negatives
- Claudia (8/5): Very good -
- Jonathan (10/5): A well rounded hotel in the center of it all - The room and balcony view was great. It felt like a nice and comfortable studio apartment. The rooms always smelled clean and fresh everytime they were cleaned and the staff were super friendly I didn't like that the dogs from next door kept barking all night but it was manageable.
- I (10/5): Greatful - The Staff Was Super Friendy and Helps Us With all our needs and wants, treated our little family with much love and welcoming atmosphere! n/A
- Heather (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Location
- Serena (10/5): Unbeatable location, stunning ocean views - Perfect location, beautiful views! This hotel is a 2 minute walk from the water taxi. It sits right on the beach and has stunning views of the ocean and piers. The most popular restaurants are all within a 5 minute walk. The room was large, and they placed an extra bed for a 3rd guest - and even then, we had room to spare! The balcony was also large and extremely comfortable. Overall delightful stay!
- Ana (9/5): We enjoyed our stay right on the beach and always felt like we had everything we needed thanks to attentive staff. - The location right on the beach was great. We also really appreciated the 5 gallon jug of water that came with the room. The shower water pressure was not great.
- Soojin (8/5): Very good - Really great location in the heart of San Pedro. Everything you could want or need is a short walk away. Super friendly and helpful staff as well. We loved lounging in the hammock on the balcony after our days out. Suite was spacious and clean. Recommend bringing ear plugs as you are in the heart of town. There were a couple dogs in one of the neighbouring properties that would bark a few times throughout the night. Something Mayan Princess can't control, so not their fault at all, but something to be aware of and prepared for if you are booking this property.
- Kerry (9/5): Superb -
- Eric (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - Location is perfectly centered
- Cz (8/5): Nice property, with spacious rooms and good accommodations in the heart of San Pedro. - The room is very nice sized with basically a bed area, kitchen, sitting area, and private patio. Great views of the sea. Helpful, friendly staff, and close tot eh airport. The location is in the heart of San Pedro, which is fine if that is what you are looking for. At night, there was some thumping music from a nearby bar/club, and a barking dog, which was annoying.
- Ornusa (9/5): Walk to everywhere. - Location was perfect. Walk right off the ferry into the hotel. Many great restaurants within walking distance. Our main purpose to go here was to snorkel Hol Chan Marine Reserve and visit Shark Ray Alley. We went with Amigos Del Mar Dive Shop which is right in front of the hotel. It cost 30% less when we booked directly with the shop compared with through Viator.
Room was spacious and clean. The studio had a kitchenette with all kitchenware needed. Bed was extremely comfortable. Staffs were super friendly. None.
- Danou (8/5): recommanded - perfect location Everything was satisfying for our short stay
- Adnan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mariela (2/5): Very poor -
- Agung (8/5): Love the location of this hotel. It has also kitchen! - The location, the location, the location. The kitchen, they provided with aqua, very good! The staff was friendly too. The bed is too soft, not good for our back. It’s just an old hotel.
- Natalie (9/5): Superb - The staff were fantastic. Always helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, they were always smiling. Miss Nataly was great.
The coffee and coffee machine provided was a great touch. I loved the cooking facilities.
The bed and pillows were super comfortable.
The ocean view was beautiful.
- Sarah (10/5): Just what we needed - Great location. Roomy space.
- Doreen (8/5): Very good - Great location.
- Arlene (9/5): Great ocean view balcony and comfortable suite. Wonderful staff! - We loved our stay at Mayan Princess. Our room was comfortable and we loved the beautiful balcony. The beach area is nice and kept so clean by staff. All staff we met were helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend 😊
- Raquel (9/5): Lovely location and amazing views! - This hotel has an excellent location, close to the water taxi, right in front of the beach, and close to surrounding restaurants and activities. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. They also provide you with beach towels. It doesn't have a restaurant or pool, so we had to leave the hotel for all of our activities and meals. The staff was friendly, but not super helpful when asking questions.
- Kam (8/5): Very good - Right in front of the water taxi terminal, lots of restaurants and activities shops around. Room is clean and comfortable.
- Gyan (7/5): Good -
- Francesca (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Cath (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing sea view from our balcony and the staff were so so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you
- York (10/5): Awesome - The hotel was very clean, I liked the location made it easy for me to get around. I will definitely stay again.
- Antonio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (9/5): Amazing views - Spending time on the balcony! Great views and space to chill in a hammock. Easy walk to grocery and restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff. Sometimes it was noisy for beach activity, but it was joyful noise.
- Václav (9/5): Superb -
- Ihor (9/5): Mayan Princess 👍 - The staff were EXCELLENT!❤️
Location was great.
Beautiful view.
Room was very clean.
- Mridu (9/5): Superb -

Jim Hahn Comfortable furniture on patio.
- Sylvie (10/5): Stayed 3 nights. Bed and futon were comfortable. Stayed on ground level. Felt very safe. Would definitely stay again! - Great location, great wifi, and helpful and kind staff.
- Alison (8/5): Value for money. - Fabulous location walk from ferry. Absolute beachfront with many luxe additions to original hotel.
- Charlo (8/5): Enjoyed it. The beach dock outside is nice to have. - Staff was fabulous. Albert, Stephanie and Mia were amazing at the Front Desk. No elevator. Other than that, it was good.
- Miguel (9/5): Superb -
- Adrienne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leslie (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, well kept rooms. Incredibly friendly staff. My second stay and will continue to stay here as well as recommend to others. Everything was great!
- Angela (10/5): Great Location - Mia at the front desk met all our needs and was very helpful. Always greeted us with a big smile The house keeping needed some refinement. They cleaned at a bare minimum. The front desk made it all right though
- Adam (8/5): really nice room, but weak ac and weak wifi. - nice room, great location, liked the hammock the ac didn’t work at all the first day. they fixed it the second day but even then it was just so-so compared to other room our friends had. never got very cool. WiFi was spotty too.
- Adam (10/5): outstanding luxurious stay for reasonable price - great location, quiet but close to bars, Central Park, water taxi. beautiful rooms. hammock option great. good deal on golf cart. staff was wonderful. tv signal had a lot of hiccups and the WiFi in the room kept dropping devices.
- Noah (10/5): great location - The location is great right in the middle of everything. It was relaxing waking up watching the sunrise from the balcony. everything was fine
- Liudmila (10/5): Exceptional - central location , staff , service , security , loved everything !
- Brinston (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - I love everything , and the staff was very friendly and assisted in all my needs. There was nothing thst I didn't like. The place us awesome.
- Ricardo (9/5): Best option in town. - Rooms are fantastic. excellent location.
- Nathan (10/5): I really liked this place and would stay again. Great bang for the buck, very helpful staff. - Fantastic view of the water, central location, comfortable bed, spacious studio. Wifi problems initially. Helpful staff helped troubleshoot and fixed the problem.
- Glen (8/5): Very good - Right on the beach in the heart of San Pedro and on the beach. Friendly helpful staff. The facility is older and is prone to sargassum on the beach.
- Trenna (8/5): Nice Boutique Hotel Centrally Located - The hotel staff was very professional and pleasant. I received communication from the hotel requesting my arrival time and if transportation was needed shortly after booking. I made a special request for a room prior to arrival for above ground level, and they accommodated my request. My flight arrived in the evening, and after the short flight from Belize International Airport, I arrived after their indicated check-in time. I was happy to find that the staff was still there and did not rush the process. They were still very pleasant and made sure I knew the details of amenities available. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants and the ferry. The rooms are extremely large. It's a very well maintained boutique style hotel. No modern finishes or amenities, but clean, and you can't beat the price for the location. They have evening security that runs the night shift, and they are friendly as well. I will definitely stay again when visiting Belieze. There was a local who hung outside the hotel in the evening sitting on the parked golf carts and a weird ex-pat (European) that resided in the front building. But those are things the hotel can't control. They weren't aggressive. But it's just something to be mindful of. The ex-pat appears nice, but he's fishing for information. He definitely is not to be trusted. I believe he works with the local, so keep your personal items close and dont walk off with him if he offers to provide you with directions. I would keep convo to a hello with ex-pat and keep it moving. But overall, it is a very nice hotel with security. There are no negatives with the hotel as those things can occur outside of any hotel. It was not on hotel property.
- Sandi (9/5): Just the nicest staff, very comfy bed and great location -
- Susana (9/5): Superb - Location, location, location. Right in the middle of San Pedro, walking distance so you don't need a golf cart to move around (unless you are going to explore the rest of the island). The room is well distributed and the kitchen had everything I needed if I wanted to cook. They provided bottled water which I really appreciated. Amazing sunrises from the balcony. Walking distance everywhere and next to the best ceviche in town :D
Staff really helpful, they helped me to find alternative diving centers with very short notice Nothing
- Larry (10/5): beautiful country beautiful people great place to visit - area was very nice view was great from our baicony locatiom great for walking once ib awhile gas smell from gas station but we learned to master it we are not airconditioner fans but love the warm breezes
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raleigh (10/5): Absolute joy to stay here! - We loved our time at Mayan Princess! Every time we walked in the door, we were greeted with smiles and hellos. Gorgeous view of crystal clear water from the balcony. Amazing location right in center of town next to all the best restaurants and dive shops. Private dock and lounge area. The room was spacious with tons of closet space, a king bed with memory foam topper, large kitchen, and living room.
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Jose (8/5): It is great place to spend couple days in San Pedro. - The staff was extremely helpful to accommodate our needs. Alma went above and beyond to make happen and our stay worthy. The hotel is centrally located and closed to restaurants, banks, and the water taxi terminal. Honestly, San Pedro is a place for one or two days visit. And the beach was full of Sargaso which is common problem within the entire Caribbean.
- Janusz (5/5): Outdated and overpriced - don’t recommend. - Hotel is outdated and overpriced.
Most of the equipment is damaged or dirty.
The The beach wasn’t prepared for sunbathing. There was rubbish and algae everywhere.
All noises from outside can be heard, incl. staff and dog barking.
