Guest Reviews
- Ana (7/5): Great hosts, lovely site. - Great hosts!! All the staff was brilliant, super friendly and like one big family, made us feel very welcomed! There's a little family-friendly bar/restaurant on site serving some food which is very convenient, and also had darts, pool table and karaoke, which definitely made our evenings! Outside also has a nice little playground area for the kids, they absolutely loved it. The beds in the tents were comfortable. Location was excellent - near Longleat safari part and Stonehenge. The tents were smaller than what the pictures would suggest, though still ok for 2 adults and two young kids. The showers/toilets area is quite cold as it's open to the elements, but we kind of expected that from a camping site. Some things could have been a little bit cleaner (like the cutlery), and we felt like overall it was a bit on the expensive side for what it was. Breakfast was also not quite up to scratch and a bit overpriced (although we massively appreciated the effort of serving us early in the morning!!!). A little investment on a proper coffee machine wouldn't be wasted! ;)
- Ros Morley (8/5): Great family place to stay! - The weather was very chilly at night (2 or 3degrees C). Patrick very kindly offered to moved 3 of the 4 of our family groups, to cabins rather than yurts booked. We would have really been frozen in yurts. One of our family groups , very used to camping in all weathers, were in a yurt as only 3 cabins vacant; they were fine in there (they'd brought extra blankets, super warm sleeping bags). We were very grateful for Patrick's thoughtfulness in upgrading our accommodation! The 'cabins' are almost finished, in that a toilet is planned to be added which would be great. The beds were extremely comfortable. We used the woodburner in the cabins..
Patrick was super friendly and helpful. The cafe/bar area was great. The atmosphere was warm, cosy and friendly. It was brilliant that there's a pool table plus darts. Lots of tables, chairs and a comfy sofa in cafe area. Lovely views and peaceful location, yet only 25mins from Frome, Somerset, which we visited. Nice covered area next to cafe to sit and have a drink, relax. The attractive fairy lights strung along paths at night gave a great atmosphere. Lovely small play area for young kids. A good location generally. To use the wood burner in the 'cabins'. you buy a bag of wood for £25. We were there from Friday night till Sunday morning. We were there to celebrate, belatedly my February birthday so were looking for a place that fitted well for our group's needs. Age range from 5 months to 75 years! This place did enable us to all get together and have a fun, brilliant time. Overall we had a great weekend there. It was excellent for young children and families like us. Our family comprised 13 people, 6 kids, including a baby of 5 months. Parking great. Overall we had a great weekend there. It was excellent for young children and families like us. Unheated shower block - cold weather last weekend - shower/toilets area exposed to the elements; so very cold in there. The shower I first tried was only giving out cold water. This got sorted as energy problems the day before. Patrick was very apologetic and was always super helpful and friendly - a great host. Loo rolls in toilets almost ran out. We had brought our own after reading reviews here. BTW there was a small charge for my well behaved dog of £10 per night. I brought his food, bowls, poo bags - and bed - so no extra work for them. On the Sunday our family wanted to have a cooked breakfast there but when we left at 11.00ish, the cafe/restaurant remained closed (we were not aware of this). So we all left, in search of breakfast and hot drinks. (Luckily I had brought my own breakfast). No internet available. Although woodturner in cabin, we didn't want it to burn all night - our gave out some smoke. I was extremely cold at nighttime. The duvet was a thin summer one. I had to wear, pjs, dressing gown, thermal layer to keep warm enough to sleep. I'd advise taking extra blankets and even your own duvet if cold weather likely!

- Nicki (9/5): Really wonderful place for families and dogs! - Patrick is just brilliant! Proper Irish hospitality - what a lovely man! We felt so welcome - as did our dog and kids! I don't know how he does everything! We were so lucky we got an upgrade which kept us snug and warm because the wind really picked up while we were there. So nice to have a fun bar and yummy breakfast to wake up to. Free darts and pool table - no rules for kids. Patrick's whole mentality is just spot on. He cannot do enough for you. Overall, really brilliant welcoming stay! Ahh I hate to say something negative but the toilets and shower area could have been cleaner, including the toilet in the bar area. The showers are also not protected from the elements. I know we are camping but because it is an open block, it's just too cold. There is also no hot water to wash your face and the sinks are tiny. These are small things and I'm probably just too precious! We know that the new lodges are going to have their own built in bathrooms so we will definitely return and book one of those when we do.
- charlotte (10/5): Paddy and his family are a breathe of fresh air, in a world where we crave safety, family time, space, real people to an - The lodge was gorgeous! It kept us warm and cosy in the wind and rain. The bar was a great family place with a lovely play area and outdoor seating. Nothing!
- Corinne (10/5): incredible host in a beautiful setting - Patrick was a marvellous host, the location for visiting Longleat was superb, there are pubs and shops within 5 minutes but once you are out at the site you honestly wouldn't know it is idyllic. The nearby Westbury white horse is well worth a visit and we are definitely going to head back. being able to wake up to the beautiful setting but from comfy accommodation is the perfect blend for us
- Helen (10/5): Perfect - By far the friendliest hosts I’ve ever met. Nothing was too much trouble. The whole experience was perfect, planning to return very soon
- Louise (7/5): We had a lovely weekend. We used this as a base for Longleat. - Lovely location. Very spacious for 5 Adults. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. More toilet rolls. Luckily we had read previous reviews and took our own.
- Ana (10/5): -
- Alexandra (6/5): Great location - Great place to stay. Fantastic location. Could have been cleaner in the shower section.
- Lynn (9/5): Great place for an adventure for the family! - The site has everything for a great family gathering! From a playground to a bouncy castle.
It also has a little club house which offers free pool table, darts and a free juke box to play music.
The owner Paddy did everything to make us feel welcome and considering he’s pretty much running everything he did an excellent job! The weather! We wanted sunshine and warmth the whole time 😁😁.
- Tyrone (8/5): All in all very nice camp site. - Very polite staff. The shower facilities being outside.
- Maureen (10/5): Memorable weekend 🏕️ - This campsite isn't your usual, and that's because of the heart and soul that goes into it from the owner paddy. The overall experience is wholesome and just a delight to be around. The ambiance of the outdoor wood burners, the BBQs you can hire, the bell tents and beautiful lights at night is perfect for those wanting to reconnect with nature
but in comfort. Paddy provides everything you need, and if there's something you've not thought of I'm sure he has! Overall a great weekend with lovely food and good vibes. Will be a weekend to remember and hope to go back in the future. Thanks again I liked all aspects of the site, very comfortable and cosy
- Sarah-Jane (8/5): Lovely camp site for families - Great little camping site in a fab location. Lots to do for children, great playground, bouncy castle and football pitch. The site felt very safe, had a view from the tent and was nice and quiet. Our glamping tent was lovely and the staff there were friendly and extremely helpful. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely go back. Thanks for a wonderful stay! Definitely take your own toilet paper.
The brekkie also could be a bit better
- David (10/5): Fantastic place to stay, would definitely recommend going there. - Lovely location, we stayed so that we had easy access to longleat, Patrick the owner was fantastic he couldn’t do enough for us. Before going I obviously read some reviews about the place, and the one saying there wasn’t enough toilet rolls. I would just like to say there was more than enough toilet
rolls.
- Alison (10/5): Wonderful Wiltshire!! - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Country View Camping. The campsite was extremely well equipped and included a fantastic shower block and toilets, Clubhouse with a bar, board games/pool/darts and good reasonably priced food which was a lovely touch. Our host Patrick was absolutely amazing and welcomed us with a great deal of enthusiasm and kindness. The site is very child friendly and my Godson was delighted playing in both the playground and the bonus bouncy castle 🙂. Country view Camping is truely a hidden gem and Patrick is an exceptional host. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone staying there and will definitely be returning customers. Thanks again Country View Camping!! 👍💯 Nothing
- Natalie (10/5): Fabulous camping for all the family. - We stayed at Country View Camping for my son’s birthday at the end of June.
Fantastic communication before arrival from Patrick, promptly answering all questions and making the whole check in experience very easy.
The tent was lovely, clean, much larger than expected and beds were very comfortable. Nice and private looking about across a beautiful backdrop. Each tent had its own picnic table outside. The was an option to hire a fire pit.
We arrived later and Patrick was very accommodating and the evening meal was lovely after a long journey.
The onsite restaurant and bar was a very friendly, comfortable place to sit and eat.
At night the campsite came alive with little fairy lights and the paths were lit up, all looked very pretty and the kids were made up. There is a fab bouncy castle and park for the kids and a couple of football nets that the boys loved!
Nice hot showers and all very clean and tidy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, to us it was all a campsite should be. The lay out means you can always see the children on the park/ bouncy castle from anywhere, allowing them freedom to spend time enjoying the site. The weekend has provided the boys with lots of happy memories and they can’t wait to return.
Patrick is a gem of a man and a great host that just gets it right, catering for adults as well as ensuring your little ones will have the best time. Having to leave
- Santiago (8/5): Toilet paper was never available - The concept The toilets
- Heather (6/5): It was ok - The location is stunning lovely staff. Poor futons mattress very stained. Mixed toilet and shower facilities
- Maya (10/5): Amazing experience for adults and kids - The service and the attention was outstanding! The tent was beautiful as well! The play area for the kids was amazing! I would have preferred to have electricity in the tent, but hey it’s a camping so all good!
- Tracey (10/5): Absolutely fantastic time - My partner went with our grandson and it was their first time camping. They had a great time and my grandson loved it. He didn't want to come home. The food was great staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for them. Will definitely be going back. Liked everything
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): We loved it so much we extended our stay! - The staff were so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much to ask. We laughed all weekend! Great facilities, warm showers. The kids loved the play area and the football pitch. Loads of games in the bar, free to play pool which is a lovely gesture. Fantastic covered outdoor area with log burner. Twinkly lights everywhere! They even give you a hefty power bank on arrival and have Bluetooth speakers to borrow.
A really great community vibe, in a lovely setting with great facilities, what more could you want?! We’ll definitely be back, thanks so much Paddy, Michael and everyone else for a fab stay!
- Matthew (10/5): Fantastic off grid camping - Paddy and his team were fantastic hosts for us over this bank holiday weekend, all facilities provided were great especially the extra steps they took to be able to entertain the kids. We took our 11 year old and 2 year old camping and both had a great time, nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed drinking and eating in the onsite bar and restaurant.
We Will definitely be back and shall recommend this to many friends.
- Fabiola (10/5): Exceptional - I definitely recommend this experience. The place is beautiful, the people are lovely and super attentive, very clean and organized, without a doubt I will come back with my family, we really loved this place.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoyed everything about our stay, the hosts are amazing and will go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and nice, very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Patrick and Michael you both made my partners birthday very special, thank you and we will be back.
- Leah (5/5): Ok just to sleep - Good location for what we wanted and the owner was nice Very expensive for what it is. Not very clean
- John (10/5): Our van little family loved it highly recommended, staff very welcoming and accommodating to any needs - So welcoming they couldn’t do enough for us 🙏 Off the grid eco friendly very unique, peaceful with beautiful views. We will be back
- Nicholas (10/5): Absolutely perfect - Everything we needed and more.
The guys that run the place and own it are absolutely amazing! We liked everything, best camping experience ever!
- Peter (10/5): A fantastic way to spend time in this amazing area of England. Great location to visit the local business and experience - I believe a holiday is all about how you feel throughout the whole process and from the time I arrived to the moment we left I was smiling, feeling relaxed and had absolutely nothing to worry about 😀 There’s nothing I didn’t like but a clothes washer and dryer would be a great addition.
- Jeremy (10/5): Amazing - Great campsite with all the amenities and facilities you would need. Great bathroom block, Cafe/bar/restaurant, play park, outdoor activities like football, badminton etc and a extra special touch is the inflatable bouncy castles which they set up at a moment’s notice for the kids. Really friendly team who run the site, go out of their way to help and accommodate any of your needs or issues. Food was fantastic and well presented for breakfast and dinner. Overall great relaxed friendly family vibe. Nothing to dislike.
- Rachel (7/5): Relaxing countryside stay. - Cozy tent Lack of electrical points in changing area to dry hair/charge phone.
- Vikas (9/5): Great place to keep kids busy while you relax - Bell tents were great! Especially for 6 of us travelling with grandparents and kids.
The pics are exactly how things are with night lights and pathway lights. Everyone loves that setup.
Things to keep kids busy - fields for them to run / exhaust themselves, play area .. they also setup inflatables in the evening.
Trolley to help move the luggage is so useful as parking is away (30 secs walk) from all the bell tents.
Vegetarian options for meal and breakfast were available, so we were sorted. Loved the smokey flavour on vegan burger!
The facilities were clean throughout our stay.
Also loved that they are running on solar and generator, so keeping off the grid.
Friendly / Family loving staff, they would do whatever they can to make our stay memorable and also can't miss out mentioning sweet Norman. Had to drag the kids out to get home (saw the same with another family leaving before us)
- Charlotte (10/5): Clean and comfy bell tent, lovely staff, good amenities - Everyone that works here was incredibly kind and friendly.
We had noted that a review from 2 months ago suggested a wheel barrow for your luggage- on arrival, they directed us to carts for transporting luggage down (we were really impressed that they’d taken on feedback and acted so promptly).
Norman the dog was lovely.
The shower/ loo block was really clean and the shower temperature/ pressure was great.
We’d booked to stay here before/ after a visit to Longleat, and it was about a 20 minute drive. We loved everything, we just wished we’d planned to stay at the campsite for longer, and had stayed for long enough to try the food at the Old Goat Cafe.
- Linda (9/5): Really relaxing and friendly - we will visit again. :) - We loved the small peaceful site and really nice friendly owners. The little bell tent settlement was was covered in twinkly lights and very cute especially under moonlight. The double bed was an exceptionally comfy memory foam and the tent was very cosy with throws and cushions and lots of lights. We had a super well cooked breakfasts and evening meals in the relaxing bar (from which which parents could watch their kids in the adjacent play park through full glass wall - really clever idea!)The campsite dog, Norman was Awsome!!! There was nothing to dislike but next time we will bring hats as even in July our heads were chilly( the beds were very cosy though)
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosemary (8/5): Lovely and very comfortable stay with great friendly staff. - Very family friendly. Staff were super helpful. Bell tents were really nicely set up and very comfortable. Bouncy castles and party games for the kids especially good. Lovely atmosphere in the on site pub during evening. As a vegetarian the food options on site weren’t great but there were restaurants nearby. Wasn’t anywhere to charge phone. The BBQ / fire pit wasn’t set up which was a shame.
- Katie (10/5): If you want a safe, fun, comfortable and beautiful glamping experience in a gorgeous location with a friendly welcome th - Absolutely amazing location. Stunning views and the bell tents were gorgeous inside! Very comfortable and little details were lovely such as games to play and twinkly lights. Facilities were fantastic! Shower block and toilets with loads of space and hot water. The bar on site is a great extra and we were able to relax and chat all evening knowing the children were safe and happy playing on their own little playground. The owner had the bouncy castle blown up for our children even though we were the only ones there and they couldn’t do enough for us! The little restaurant serves lovely food and our full English breakfast in the morning kept us going all day and was gorgeous! We visited Longleat safari park which is only 15 mins away from the site.
Such a great place for families to stay and feel welcomed! Nothing. We couldn’t fault anything!
- David (10/5): Visit - The dog, Norman, was awesome.

Staff were lovely. Nothing.
- Shahzoda (10/5): Amazing experience, kids enjoyed the most. - Amazing first camping experience we had. We all loved every moment we spent there. Games, karaoke, country side view, nicely decorated tent all was amazing. I was little worried if I will get cold in the tent as no heaters but it was very comfortable and cosy and fresh air in the morning with little birds singing as morning alarm. Noting, all good

- Alister (10/5): Our stay was beyond our wildest dreams in one of the best places in the country with homely comfort - The glamping tent far exceeded our expectations, looked beautiful all lit up. The beds are so comfortable. You could see the owner had paid great attention to detail in every aspect of this site. Shower and toilet complex was really well thought out with piping hot water and proper homelike amount of water coming out too. Breakfast was incredible, personally cooked by the owner, who is just the best. My 7 year old daughter and my wife absolutely loved it. Am thoroughly recommending this to all our friends. There really is nothing to write as the owner is continuously improving upon this site which is adding to it's already incredible reputation.
- Samuel (10/5): AMAZING!! We will return :) - Such a lovely location with a brilliant owner to make us all feel welcome - our daughter’s first camping experience (2yo) made very special!
- Krisztina (9/5): Superb -
- Nick (10/5): Great views, great accommodation and great staff. - Tents are fantastic.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Location is stunning.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - The bell tents were beautiful, spacious and very clean.
The beds were comfy. Lovely added extra of family games, a Bluetooth speaker and power bank provided. All staff very friendly and helpful.
Definitely recommend and will be returning 100%.
- Emma (10/5): Highly Recommended - Gorgeous campsite with incredible views. Lovely staff, clean facilties. Never been somewhere where we have felt so welcome, Robbie made every effort to talk to our children, Patrick made sure he came to meet us and nothing was too much. Highly recommended
- Jamie (10/5): Great, highly recommend - The tent was spacious for our family of 4. Great to have some food available on site, we had breakfast both days and one evening meal. The children loved exploring the site and walking the paths. The location is very idyllic down a country lane with lovely views from the site. We stayed to visit Longleat which is only 20 mins away, also visited the white horse, definitely worth it as the views are spectacular. Patrick & Robert were great hosts. Nothing
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kat (10/5): A magical stay in a beautiful setting. - What a fantastic place to stop! The bell tents were amazing and comfortable. Inside they were clean and spacious. The lighting was brilliant and all the little touches created an excellent stay: from the Bluetooth speaker, the power charger and games/puzzles. Each tent also had a bench and fire pit with the option of buying logs and firelighters and even marshmallows! We paid for a breakfast during our first night and it was so delicious. The owners were so welcoming and accommodating and we're able to offer lots of advice about Longleat and the surrounding area. We will definitely be back!
- Anonymous (10/5): Wonderful camping experience hosted by excellent staff. Thouroughly recommend to anyone. - The bell tent was fantastic! Plenty of space for our family and belongings. The toilet and shower block was suitable for the experience. Fantastic views from the tent. Staff were very friendly and always helpful and the fact they decorated the tent for our son’s birthday was above and beyond what we expected. Nothing drastic, the futon mattress was quite thin but we overcame it by using the spare futon.
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Great place to stay - Great location for exploring,we'd booked for Longleat Safari Park, and the campsite was only 30 mins from there. The site itself was easy to find . The facilities were great for what we needed. Patrick was very friendly and always on hand if we needed anything. Loved the fact we could get something to eat here as well as we only had a 2 night stay booked, so we didn't want to have to get food in. Would definitely stay again, maybe longer next time to fully appreciate the experience, and I will definitely be recommending to friends and family looking for somewhere to stay whilst visiting the area . Thanks for an enjoyable stay . Couldn't think of anything not to like
- Hannah (10/5): Beautiful place, wonderful hosts, just perfect for a lovely relaxing weekend away - This was a home from home experience. We cannot recommend country view camping enough. We went with both our children (4 and 1). The actual tents are beautiful and huge inside there was plenty of Room for playing (and the complimentary games and toys!). The area is beautiful, watching the paraglides over the white horse hills and in the evening the shooting stars over the fire. Our son loved looking for grasshoppers in the field and picking blackberries, it’s so safe for children.
The hosts cannot do enough for you they become your friends rather than a host (we were drinking Prosecco with them last night and having a lovely time!).
The old goat cafe is a great little treat as you get a cooked breakfast in the morning which was delicious.
We are definitely planning on returning as soon as we can. We absolutely loved it and so did our boys. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, it was 100%
- Emily (10/5): I will definitely go back and highly recommend. - The owners made us extremely welcome. The campsite is new and has beautiful scenery of the surrounding hills. this combined with the peace and tranquillity makes this an amazing place to unwind relax and recharge.
the tents are very spacious comfortable and most importantly dry. bedding was clean as was the rest of the furnishings Its not what I didn't like but will look forward to on our next visit, the café and hopefully a bar. The owner is working hard to make this a true glamping experience.
